Prostor barokní architektury v pojetí české kritiky ve 20. století / Baroque Architectural Space in the Conception of Czech Criticism in the 20th Century

Koryntová, Eliška January 2015 (has links)
(in English) This thesis is a summary of opinions coming from 20th century Czech art historians which wrote about baroque architectural space. Based on reading texts from them I have chosen three cardinal themes characterizing the research of baroque architectural space: tendencies to emancipate architectural space, emphasis on the time based experience of architectural space and interest in luminary qualities of architectural space. In the chapter about time based experience of architectural space I am dealing with the illusion of movement that creates baroque architectural space, with the parallel between baroque architecture and baroque musical compositions and with the principles of designing the so called "moving space" by using illusionary splines. I find a tendency to describe baroque architectural space in a poetical way by Czech art historians due to the process of perceiving architecture happening through the interaction of the human body arrangement. I am focused on philosophy of Martin Heidegger and Hans Georg Gadamer where the support of metaphoric description of baroque architectural space can be found. In the final part of this thesis I write about the symbolic qualities of sacral baroque architectural space. I consider the spatial relationship "above" and "down" as an interpretation...

The main part of the thesis comprises the analyses of nine selected texts written by Croatian authors, namely Goldsmith's gold by August Šenoa, In the Registrar's Office by Antun Kovačić, Diary by Dragojla Jarnević, Melita by J. E. Tomić, The Last of the Stipančićs by Vjenceslav Novak, The Return of Philip Latinowicz by Miroslav Krleža, Marina; or, About Biography by Irena Vrkljan, Divine Hunger by Slavenka Drakulić and Ministry of Pain by Dubravka Ugrešić.

Šimková, Hana January 2019 (has links)
This thesis analyzes the poetics of Holan's Triumf smrti (1930, revised in 1936, 1948, 1965), collections written in the period of neosymbolism - Vanutí (1932, ultimately revised in 1965), Oblouk (1934, ultimately revised in 1965) and Kameni, přicházíš… (1937, ultimately revised in 1965) as well as collections reacting to the Munich Agreement and following historical events - Odpověď Francii (written in 1938, first published as late as 1946 in the compilation Havraním brkem), Září 1938 (1938), Zpěv tříkrálový (written in 1938-1939, first published as late as 1946 in the compilation Havraním brkem), Sen (1939), Chór (1941). In the first place, the thesis focuses on identifying the rhythmic structure of the individual collections, their constants and gradual transition. Part of the exploration of poetics is the determination of the function of the rhythmic constants in the individual collections, accompanied by an attempt to demonstrate that the rhythmic building of verse together with its instrumentation belongs to the essential components of Holan's poetics of that period. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the semantics of Holan's poetics in the given collections of his, especially the analysis of the basic features of the poet's metaphor and metonymy, their mutual relationship and permeation....

Oběť a iniciace v mýtech o Ódinovi / Sacrifice and initiation in the myths of Ódinn

Kozák, Jan January 2015 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the interpretation of four myths from early medieval Scandinavia, in which the main role is played by the god Óðinn. All four myths narrate how he achieved a state of permanent increase of his numinous knowledge. Based on the fact that the outcome of all of the narratives is the acquisition of the Mead of Poetry (or its equivalent), they can be percieved as "four reports on the same event". The analysis of myths itself has been executed in two steps: firstly the separate inquiry of the two more central myths and introduction of the other two followed by thorough analysis of the four together. All four myths demonstrate to a certain degree a presence of motifs and structures associated with the religious phenomena of sacrifice and initiation. By the means of said analysis the study reviews the systematic relations of the sacrificial and initiatory structures and postulates a common core which is subsequently named "monomyth".

[en] DUG ADDICTION AND PSYCHOANALYSIS / [pt] AS TOXICOMANIAS NA CLÍNICA PSICANALÍTICA

ALEXANDRA DE GOUVEA VIANNA 21 February 2017 (has links)
[en] The thesis presents a study of addictions through the psychoanalytic point of view. The view that presides the study is that the fellow addict runs an appeal to the Other through the use of the drug to make the paternal function present. From this perspective, the drug contains a message addressed to another so that a cut should be operated in the relationship without limits built with the drug. It will not treat the organic effects produced by the use of the substance, but the unique function that the drug might occupy a person. In the first chapter, the introduction, the object of the work will be circumscribed: the addictions. In the second chapter it will examine the phenomenon of drugs in perversion, in neurosis and psychosis. In the third chapter, it will launch a glimpse into the drug through the concepts of superego, drive satisfaction, ego ideal and the death drive. In the fourth chapter it will present the construction of dependence relations in addictions and how drug use can serve as a call to a father. We will also study the signifier in the dialectic of the desire in order to locate the place of the drug to the addict. Then, assuming that the weakness or ineffectiveness of the paternal function provides the compulsion to object drug as a way to solve the anguish caused by the effects of castration, it will investigate the drug problem from the significant Name of the Father and the paternal metaphor.

La métaphore comme "passeur culturel" dans l'oeuvre de Vénus Khoury-Ghata / The Metaphor used as a “Cultural Crossing” through the Complete Works of Vénus Khoury-Ghata / La metafora come “passeur culturale” nell’opera di Vénus Khoury-Ghata

Tumia, Francesca 26 November 2015 (has links)
Through her literary works, Francophone Lebanese writer Vénus Khoury-Ghata who resides in Paris, suggests an alternative idea to that of the isolated representation of Lebanon and of the Lebanese identity. Expressed in French from the outside of her motherland’s limits, her point of view makes good use of her marginalization towards the national literature which worries about its “cultural authenticity” while aiming to invent other images of her own country. The literary effect produced through the writing of her poetry and novels, which is situated and placed in the meeting point of cultures and languages, is thought particularly striking through her use of the metaphor. This figure of speech is contemplated primarily through the issues about the representation of the Nation, and it is then dealt with its function of “cultural crossing” through text, firstly in an intercultural perspective and secondly in a transcultural one. Seeing that they consider culture as a process rather than that of heritage, the khouryghatien metaphor in the text stands as a way of disclosing the realms of “possibles” in the Identity studies. In this sense, it plays the same role in Vénus Khoury-Ghata’s work as the Relation in Glissant’s total world. Through the metaphor task, khouryghatien poetry and novels widen national consciousness to the world by encouraging the meeting among multiple cultures and it also works for understanding and reconstructing the identity of the Lebanese people.
