Samarbete och lärande : Om friktion, uppgifters komplexitet och erfarenhetsutbyten i samarbete / Cooperation and Learning : About friction, the complexity of tasks, and exchange of experience in cooperationStedt, Lisbeth January 2013 (has links)
This thesis highlights collaboration among secondary school teachers as an example of employees' possibilities to learn from each other in collaboration. The purpose of the thesis is to throw light upon how employees shape conditions for cooperation, and the importance these conditions have for their possibilities to exchange experiences and influence each other’s task understanding, i.e., their possibilities to learn from each other through collaboration. The thesis’ theoretical bases are action theory and constructivism. The study uses a case-study approach, and involves a combination of participant observation and interviewing techniques. The starting point was to identify factors that appeared to assist or hinder the exchange of experience. One conclusion is that the division of labour seems to have been central to how conditions are shaped and is the basis for teachers' possibilities for experience-exchange. The combination of a common, physical context, and the friction between the teachers’ actions, seems to promote experience-exchange between teachers and contribute to the possibility to learn from each other. Friction could be seen as the basis for teachers’ need to achieve consensus and coordinate action, since friction is a hindrance. Consequently, friction entails both obstacles and opportunities for coordination and learning. The conditions giving rise to frictions that are overcome seem to be shaped by the way teachers divide the work. Tasks with a high degree of complexity seldom cause friction, which is avoided in these contexts through individual labour. Friction seems to occur and be overcome more frequently during cooperation on easier tasks. Teachers' attempts to collaborate on complex tasks, and simultaneously divide work individually, seem to increase the risk of insurmountable friction arising, from power-related and communication barriers.

Pedagoginė dirigento kompetencija muzikos atlikimo procese / Pedagogic competence of a conductor in the process of musical performanceTamošaitytė, Ieva 07 August 2013 (has links)
Tyrimo objektas – dirigento veikla.
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Scientific and methodological literature on conducting describes in great detail personal characteristics, talents and skills expected of a conductor. Yet relatively few literature sources mention the importance of conductor’s teaching competences. The peculiar scarcity of existing literature on the topic of conductor’s pedagogic competences gives rise to this research.
Research subject: pedagogic competence of conductor.
Research objective: to highlight the importance pedagogic competence of conductor.
Goals necessary to reach the objective: highlight and theoretically prove the importance of conductor’s role in the process of music performance; reveal conductors opinions on pedagogic competence as compared to the others; review the relationship between conductor‘s technique and his pedagogic activity; determine which specific pedagogic competences are most important.
Research methods: scientific and methodological literature analysis in field of pedagogy and conducting, a survey, a semi-structured interview.
Research extent: 31 conductors and 3 conducting experts from various countries.
Literature review shows that conductor role has grown over time. Conductor is no longer viewed as an individual performer, but also as a musical group leader and a teacher.
Conducted survey results allow us to challenge the existing opinion on conducting as it relates to the aspect of pedagogic competences. In particular, the conducted research reveals that the process of conducting... [to full text]

Medborgaren som pedagogiskt projekt / Citizen as a pedagogic projectNiklasson, Laila January 2007 (has links)
Pedagogic practice often involves preparing the student for different roles in society as well as personal development. The aim of the thesis is to investigate how the concept citizen is understood by single individuals and is shaped in pedagogic practice. Its theoretical starting points are taken from sociological theories about society and from theories about education. It is primarily Jürgen Habermas’ theories about society and communication that provide the framework for this investigation and discussion. Even the criticism which Habermas has received is presented and discussed. Society is presented as divided in a private and a public sphere where the individual fulfils the role as a citizen by acting in the public sphere. Four empirical studies are carried out; interviews with single individuals, observations at a folk high school, observations in study associations and analysis of reports from European projects where folk high schools and study associations participated. The public sphere that is most apparent is an every day, local public sphere where single individuals and participants in folk high school and study associations discuss common matters. In the discussion there are few references to public political discussions on national or international level. Assuming that citizen is defined broader than as a relation between the individual and the state, the study presents and discusses a variety of ways to act as a citizen within and outside pedagogic practice, and also the obstacles. The thesis provides arguments for a discussion about the concept citizen and citizen action within pedagogic practice. There are also arguments for independent citizen actions outside the pedagogic context. Thereby the citizen action can be brought back to the pedagogic discussion for reflection.

Teachers' understandings of pedagogic connectednessBeutel, Denise Ann Unknown Date (has links)
This thesis explores the nature of pedagogic connectedness and reveals the qualitatively different ways in which teachers in the middle years of schooling experience this phenomenon. The researcher defines pedagogic connectedness as the engagements between teacher and student that impact on student learning. The findings of this phenomenographic-related study are used to provide a framework for changes to pedagogic practices in the middle years of schooling.
Twenty teachers of years 7, 8, and 9 boys in an independent college in South-East Queensland participated in this study. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews with these teachers and the interview transcripts were analysed iteratively. Five qualitatively different ways of experiencing pedagogic connectedness emerged from this study. These categories of description are linked hierarchically and are delimited from each other through six common dimensions of variation.
Teachers’ conceptions of pedagogic connectedness range from information providing through instructing, facilitating, guided participation to mentoring. The five different conceptions may be classified broadly as teacher-centred, transitional or student-centred. In the information providing conception, pedagogic connectedness between teachers and students is limited with teachers perceiving themselves as subject experts and providing few opportunities for student-teacher engagements. The most complex conception, mentoring, is characterised by partnerships between teachers and students in which teachers view themselves as more experienced equals. These partnerships extend beyond the confines of the classroom and beyond the years of schooling. In this conception, teachers describe teaching as an emotional activity with teachers demonstrating passion for teaching and learning. The findings of this current study extend earlier understandings of teacher-student mentoring relationships in the middle years of schooling. These expanded understandings may contribute to enthusing middle years students and re-engaging them with schooling during these vital years.

Du är huvudpersonen i ditt liv, eller? : En kvalitativ studie om kvinnors upplevelser av empowerment dimensioner på kvinnodominerade arbetsplatser / You are the main character of your life, or? : A qualitative study on women´s experiences of empowerment on women-dominated workplacesDafgård, Pia, Edvardsen, Catrin January 2018 (has links)
The background of this study is to promote women in working life and to find methods for preventing ill health and sick leave, as well as highlighting women's experiences of empowerment processes in their area regarding their work situations. The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate what strengthens women in their professional role. Do women have the opportunity to participate in empowerment processes and influence their skills development? Do women experience powerlessness in the women-dominated workplaces? The vision of the ideal work in which organization and employees are prioritized equally is the human relation theory where organization and employees need each other. Seven workplaces are represented by fifteen informants interviewed with a hermeneutic approach and interpreted through the IPA model. The result showed differences in the different workplaces that gave empowerment the dimensions of empowerment, powerlessness and strengthening through skills development. Where more knowledge gives more power.

Salvador
