Dualismo corpo/alma na teologia pentecostal

Fernando Albano 02 July 2010 (has links)
The object of this research is the dualism between body and soul in the Brazilian Pentecostal theology, represented by its major expression for the Assembly of God Church. Thus, from the appreciation of the whole human being, take it goals to investigate the Pentecostal theological anthropology, its tensions and convergences with the biblical perspective. The theological emphasis on the unity of the human constitution, that the biblical testimony indicates, contrastes with the historical experience of Christianity, in which the body, always played a secondary status, which remains in Pentecostalism today. This research presents its content in three chapters: Chapter 1 seeks to identify the origin, as well as the development of anthropological dualism along the mains periods of church history. Entitled Pentecostal Theology and anthropological dualism, the second chapter seeks to present a brief aspect of Pentecostal theology, especially considering the data showing his conception of human being. On the way to overcome the anthropology dualism, third and last chapter, is quest its, after describing briefly about the constitution of the human being from some biblical data in dialogue with some authors, means of overcoming of the anthropological dualism. Finally, it indicates to a Pentecostal theology the adoption of the anthropological unity perpective.

Eduardo Leandro Alves 30 May 2012 (has links)
This research aims to show that in Brazil, there were several religious influences that generated from the mixture of peoples and their religions, a very people-oriented mystical supernatural. Thus, with the arrival of Pentecostal missionaries in 1910, Pentecostal theology found fertile ground, because its message had God intervening in a visible way in the life of the people, healing their diseases, saving their soul and generating hope of eternal salvation. Therefore, we investigate to what extent the religious culture of Brazil, the fruit of the various ethnicities that formed what we now call the Brazilian people, favors the Classical Pentecostal Theology and its development in the various strata of its society. For this, the text presents in an introductory way the religious history of the settlers, shows the religious expressions practiced in Brazil before the arrival of the settlers, as well as the religiosity that black Africans brought to Brazil, reports the arrival of the first Protestant missionaries, analyzes the Pentecostal missionaries arrived in Brazil with a Classical Pentecostal Theology, as well as the possible causes of its growth in Brazil. Turning, then, to contemporary issues related to the centennial of Brazil's largest Pentecostal denomination, the Assemblies of God. In this analysis it is assumed that the theory of Max Weber's "elective affinity" can be added to the proposal of Clifford Geertz, where it is assumed that the development of Classical Pentecostalism in Brazil was favored in the forming of its people by very particular social issues that, because of affinity, among all the possibilities of the already present evangelical theology, opted by cultural affinity for Pentecostalism.

Kreher, Rodrigo January 2016 (has links)
This dissertation aims to discuss how religious practices of neo-Pentecostal Evangelical Churches emerge in daily life as modes of government of the impoverished youth. For this, I begin with the concept of governmentality elaborated by Michel Foucault from its course "Security, Territory and Population" taught at the College de France in 1978, which refers to updating and ownership while a state of rationality in modern techniques archaic developed and employed by the Western Christian Church throughout the Middle Ages as driving strategy of individual and collective life. Thus, government becomes understood as that set of practices put into circulation when the relationship between each subject with other and institutions that aims to lead and guide incessantly, for purposes more or less defined, desired and predictable, the way in which people and institutions conduct and have conducted their lives. In the first chapter I seek to give visibility to a few moments of relations and tensions exerted between the Church and the State along the Brazilian historical background have contributed to the production of a caring rationality, protection and government around the child population impoverished. These moments emerge in writing from the exercise of track them while still designated a power play in a problematic field in speeches and political and scientific mechanisms articulated the establishment of certain ways of thinking politically and culturally this problem. The second chapter seek to raise some problematizations about how neo-Pentecostal churches, through its mechanisms and equipment evangelization and youth integration, have articulated and exercised care practices, protection, control and investment of youth who participate in its institutions and programs. For this, delivery of some episodes of the life stories of four young men who have on their trajectories the experience of having attended these churches and their projects offered to the youth, to question and discuss how and to what extent the speech given by the churches Neo-pentecotals It has been issued and participated as an element that makes up the way these young people lead their lives.

The present work aims to study the internationalization process of Brazilian Protestant churches, especially in South America, with a focus on Pentecostal branch, as well as the networks of national origin, based on the discussions of geography on religious diffusion. To start the research begins with a thesis, which consists in the belief that the axiological elements such as religion, interfere in the concrete, as in politics and the economy. Pentecostal contributions to modern Christological thought: a synthesis with ecumenical views

House, Sean David 30 November 2006 (has links)
Pentecostalism, which developed its essential character during the classical period of 1901-1916, has many significant contributions to make to modern theology. Often viewed as a type of fundamentalism, it is actually a theological tradition in its own right that deserves consideration along with the other two major streams of protestantism, conservative evangelicalism and more liberal ecumenical-mainline thought. Although it emphasizes the experience of the Holy Spirit, pentecostalism is highly Christocentric as is evidenced by its foundational symbol of faith, the fourfold gospel of Jesus as savior, healer, baptizer, and coming king. This work examines how the pentecostal fourfold gospel, as a functional, from below Spirit Christology, anticipates and intersects with trends in twentieth century ecumenical theological thought. The result of the study is the articulation of a fuller, more holistic understanding of the work of Christ in salvation in the world today. / Systematic Theology & Theological Ethics / M. Th. The other side of the mountain : initiatives of a younger Pentecostal generation

Gorman, Roger Dale 11 1900 (has links)
Pentecostal churches are growing significantly across the world, but occasionally theological tensions arise within Pentecostal churches, sometimes related to intergenerational differences, which hinder both quantitative and qualitative growth. This study analyses the dynamics of a particular generation gap in one South African Pentecostal congregation. It explores the initiatives of a cell group from the younger generation, aimed at enhancing the credibility and effectiveness of the congregation's witness. The cell group initiatives highlighted issues of leadership, biblical hermeneutics, and the need for a theological re-assessment of local traditions that had always acted as identity markers for the older generation. This study contends that the conflict between a more collectivist older generation and a more individualist younger generation can be bridged through well prepared conflict resolution processes led by credible intervention teams and through some form of accommodation of the views and desires of both generations. / Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology / D.Th.
