Communication and interpersonal relationships mediated by technology are so complex and rich in detail and shade as stablished in the presential context. Lot of aspects of communication and interpersonal distance relationship were postulated by the scientific literature, but scant, and why not practically nonexistent, are those who have sought to understand, as well as the intended purpose of this study, the context of Online Personal Training (OPT) and the relations between personal trainers and clients during this contemporary training method. Focusing on these objectives has been proposed the method based on a quantitative and qualitative research to explore and describe the perceptions of seven online personal trainers and eight clients. Sociodemographic and specific questionnaires made available via Google Docs®, and semi-structured interviews implemented through Whatsapp® application and chat Facebook® allowed data collection. Every procedure was authorized by the Ethics Committee on Human Beings Research of the IB of UNESP from Rio Claro/SP, which was based on ethical standards established by Resolution 466/12 of the CNS. The data interpretation, achieved by content analysis of participants' responses was organized on the following topics: perceptions of the participant involvement with the OPT process; technological tools used by participants during the OPT; the participants' perceptions about their communication and interpersonal skills through OPT. The review process demonstrated that participants have little experience with OPT and perceive as an effective training method. The coaches reasons to start in the OPT were interested in increasing the financial gains, the number of customers and meeting the needs of the same. For clients, the competence of the coach and the unavailability to adhere to face-to-face training was the main reasons. The technological tools most commonly used for communicating are Whatsapp®, e-mail...

Spinoso, Deborah Hebling. January 2017 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Introduction: Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent rheumatic disease in the population, characterized by progressive degeneration of the articular cartilage resulting in functional disability. The knee (OAJ) is the joint most commonly affected, being one of the most disabling clinical conditions of the disease. The OAJ has no cure and the functional limitation caused by the disease often does not match the imaging tests used as a criterion of severity classification. The impairment of functional performance is the main repercussion of OAJ. Therefore, the identification of biomechanical variables that discriminate individuals affected by the disease and that are determinant to guarantee the good functional performance can contribute to a more precise diagnosis and help in directing the treatment of these patients in order to delay or prevent disabilities. Objective: to identify the biomechanical variable that discriminates women with OAJ from those in the same age group without the disease and to establish cutoff values for these variables. The second objective was to identify the functional predictor variable after ten months of follow-up and propose thresholds that indicate physical-functional decline in this population. Methods: The study included women aged 50-75 years with osteoarthritis of the knee and healthy women with no history of changes related to chronic degenerative diseases in the lower limbs. The evaluation procedures were carried out in two days. On the first day, functional mobility assessments were carried out, questionnaires were applied to verify the health status and familiarization with the strength test. On the second day of collection, knee extensor isometric torque was evaluated and gait biomechanical evaluation. The evaluations were repeated three time for the OAJ group for a period of ten months. To analyze the data were calculated: for kinematic ... - (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Doutor

Scarpari, Lais. January 2016 (has links)
In contrast, studies show that the act of caring can generate positive feelings and benefits in physical health that caregiver. Given this context, the objective of this study was to compare the level of physical activity, functional capacity and neuropsychiatric variables of caregivers of elderly individuals with Alzheimer's disease in the mild stage and no caregivers, describing the profile of elderly caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease in the mild stage and examine possible relationships between neuropsychiatric variables of elderly caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease in the mild stage of the disease. Therefore, 39 seniors were recruited while they were 19 caregivers of individuals with AD in mild AD and 20 elderly non-caregivers. The instruments used were: Interview structured, Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), Clinical Dementia Rating Scale (CDR), Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI) and Zarit Caregiver Overload Scale (Zarit). To investigate the functional capacity was used to Senior Fitness Test and the level of physical activity was used Baecke Questionnaire modified for the elderly. data normality test was performed and because of the nature of the data to compare the results of groups was performed using the Mann-Whitney U test. For correlation analysis was performed Spearman correlation test. All analyzes have adopted a significance level of 5% (p ≤ 0.05). The implementation of the inclusive education policy in sport: a case study of four secondary schools in Masvingo District, Zimbabwe

Mudyahoto, Tapiwa January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of the present study was to explore the implementation of the inclusive education policy in sport in four secondary schools in Masvingo District, Zimbabwe. The case study research design was employed; interviews, focus groups, document analysis and observations were used to collect data. Four school Heads, 4 sports masters, 4 team trainers, 4 team captains, 2 learners with disabilities and a district education officer were purposively selected to take part in this study. Data were presented, analysed/discussed, starting with demographic data in the first section followed by emerging themes. It emerged from the study that all the participants were not knowledgeable about inclusive education and the aspect of including learners with disabilities in mainstream sport. The major barriers identified include inadequate policy dialogue, unavailability of sporting equipment and attitudes. Further findings revealed that there is dire need for knowledge and skills in inclusive sport among teachers in regular schools. Findings also confirmed unavailability of policy circulars in schools. Most teachers were not afforded opportunities to attend workshops and seminars. Findings also revealed that teachers faced major challenges such as funding to undertake courses in SNE and inclusive sport. Teachers were reeled in with a lot of pressure due to congested timetables and large classes. Participants believed that the challenges they faced could be resolved through some proposed intervention strategies. The researcher concluded that teachers in regular schools were not equipped to teach sport to learners with special education needs in the mainstream. The MoPSE was not doing much in preparing teachers to be effective in including learners with disabilities in regular school sport. The study recommended that the MoPSE should put in place provisions to meet the inclusive needs of both teachers and learners. It also recommended that school Heads should be taught about SNE and inclusive sport for them to be able to guide teachers properly. Besides the national policy, schools should design inclusive policies specifically for their respective schools in line with the national policy. The study also recommended that the MoPSE should come up with a comprehensive framework in sport to counter some of these challenges.

Work Improvement and Specificity of Training Using Stepping, Running, and Bicycling as Modes of Training and Testing

Hook, Paul G. 05 1900 (has links)
This problem was designed to evaluate the work performance change effected by each of three training programs; stepping, running, and bicycle ergometer riding. The study determined the specific work improvement of each training program by using a stress test designed from each of the training modes. Two of the purposes of the study were to determine the work performance effects and the specificity of training effect of each of the training procedures. The effect of body weight and leg strength were also measured in relation to performance, and the relative value of each of the three training procedures was evaluated. An analysis of the data showed that no training method was statistically superior to the others, but in order of improvement they ranked (1) bicycle ergometer riding, (2) stepping, and (3) running. Training by each method did appear to be specific to the type of work involved. In each method of training, the most significant improvement was in the work performance test related to that particular training procedure.

In this period, losses in cognitive functions in addition to the appearance of symptoms that affect women lives may occur. The soy extract contains natural phytoestrogens (isoflavones) which, currently, are presented as a possible alternative to conventional hormone replacement therapy. Studies describing their favorable effects on maintenance and improvement of the motor and cognitive function are, increasable, emerging. Thus, the objective of this thesis was to describe the cognitive, motor and functional changes in climacteric women as well as to check the effects of dry extract of soybean (Glycine max 150mg / day) on these parameters. This present thesis has been divided into five chapters: The first chapter presents an introduction to climacteric theme, highlighting relevant aspects to the subsequent chapters. Chapter two consists in an article review about the changes in cognitive and motor functions of climacteric women. Chapter three is a systematic review about the effects of isoflavones on cognitive function and menopause. Chapter four is the result of a study that addresses the effects of soy extract in motor and cognitive functions as well as the climacteric symptoms through a double blind clinical trial. Finally, chapter five is the closing of the thesis, where final considerations are presented

In recent decades, the History of Brazilian Education gained importance with increasing production of research, which has enabled more adequately answer the question: why the school teaches what it teaches. During the military dictatorship, the basic education system has gone through many changes, which still require further study. It is widespread knowledge, the generalization, that the political discourse used the big international sports games and culture of corporal discipline as political marketing in order to raise the patriotic spirit and to mask the press censorship and political persecution, which effectively reflected in Physical Education teaching at the time. Therefore, this research aims to reconstruct the history of Physical Education scholar teaching, examining the rules, the configuration of knowledge and evidences of practice within schools, on educational transition of gymnasium cycle school for 5th to 8th grades between 1964 to 1985. The context chosen was the port city of Santos (SP), which underwent federal intervention. While the primary school was offered by the state, the emergence of secondary education was initially done by church-related private schools, in this city. Only in the 1930s was the construction of public schools for this purpose, as the State Gymnasium Canada presented in this study. Throughout the 1960s, there was the expansion of education, with the creation of other schools who attended secondary school. Since this research highlighted the State Gymnasium Maracanãzinho. The methodological framework used emerged from the History of School Subjects, developed based on desk research and literature. From this perspective were examined historical documents to train and professionalize teaching, law, teaching materials, school records and evidences within the gymnasiums...
