Denna uppsats undersöker förändringar som sker inom filmserien Pirates of the Caribbean med fokus på hur de tre inriktningarna: Klass, genus och frihet utvecklar sig genom filmerna. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur de tre ideologiska samhällsstrukturerna utvecklas genom filmserien för att förhoppningsvis kunna dra en slutsats gällande kopplingen mellan strukturernas utveckling och filmseriens fallande betyg på Rotten Tomatoes. I analysen har filmerna noggrant analyserats utifrån de tre ideologiska inriktningarna för att se hur de utvecklat sig i seriens uppföljare. Resultatet gav tydliga tendenser av att var film i serien tappat kontakt med någon av de strukturer som tidigare presenterats. Vissa strukturer utvecklas genom filmens handling medan andra försvinner utan förklaring. Utan att kunna dra en säker slutsats misstänker uppsatsförfattaren att diskontinuitet som skapats vid osammanhängande utveckling av samhällsstrukturerna i filmen kan vara en bidragande orsak till att filmerna fått ett lägre omdöme för var film som släppts i serien.

The main goal of this master thesis is to analyse the election campaign of the Czech Pirate Party in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2017. Even though the Pirate Party have participated in several elections since 2009, the election in 2017 brought the greatest electoral success. Nowadays, the external experts from various fields participate in the pre-election campaigns of the parties. Such cooperation usually lasts only during the pre-election campaign and it ends after the elections. These experts create campaign strategies and plans, train party leaders in communication, provide brand analyses, etc. The primary objective of this thesis is to analyse how the campaign of the Czech Pirate Party was conducted in 2017, whether they collaborated with external experts and what elements they had in their campaign.

Connells maskulinitetsteori med fokus på den hegemoniska maskuliniteten. Vårt urval består av tre scener i filmen Pirates of the Caribbean – Svarta pärlans förbannelse. För att uppnå vårt syfte har vi utgått från semiotisk metod och använt oss av Keith Selby & Ron Cowderys analysmodell för television.</p><p>Vi har i vår analys kommit fram till att Jack Sparrow i filmen Pirates of the Caribbean – Svarta pärlans förbannelse framställs som en ambivalent och komplex man. Vi kan se tecken på att han är bärare av den hegemoniska maskuliniteten men också tecken på att han bryter mot den. Sammantaget tycker vi att Jack Sparrow kan ses som ett uttryck för att det Connell benämner som den hegemoniska maskuliniteten är i förändring.</p>

Adenviken med dess särskilda karaktäristik granskas i syfte att undersöka om det av militärteoretiker formulerade begreppet ”Fourth Generation Warfare” i någon mån är applicerbart på situationen. I syfte att svara upp mot uppsatsens frågeställning avhandlas begreppet 4 GW och dess historik, innebörd samt utveckling. Den empiriska delen av uppsatsen behandlar Adenviken och fokuserar på situationen i landet Somalia med dess pirater och deras illegala verksamhet. Problemområdet är intressant då Sverige idag bidrar med enheter (ME02) till den marina multinationella styrkan, EUNAVFOR, som verkar i Adenviken. Det huvudsakliga syftet för de ingående nationerna är att eskortera fartyg tillhörande WFP (World Food Program), men även bidraga till ökad säkerhet för handelssjöfarten. Uppsatsen kommer fram till att begreppet 4 GW till stor del är applicerbart. The empirical part of the essay deals with the Gulf of Aden and focuses on the situation in Somalia with the pirates and their illegal activities. The main purpose of the participating nations is to escort vessels in WFP (World Food Program), but also contribute to greater security for commercial shipping. Er det alltid snakk om en objektivering av kvinner i pornografi? Og i så tilfelle, må denne objektiveringen alltid oppleves som passiv og nedverdigende? Og gjør den kvinner til ofre? Dette er bare noen av spørsmålene denne oppgaven tar for seg ved å undersøke ulike kvinnefremstillinger i heterofil mainstream pornografi. Med utgangspunkt i dannelse av karakterengasjement, tilskuer, innlevelse og identifisering, illustrerer oppgaven at kvinner i pornografi kan oppleves som aktive, sterke og nedverdigende. / Can women in heterosexual, mainstream pornography only be understood as objectified and degraded victims? Or is it possible to understand these representations otherwise? These are just some of the questions this thesis addresses by examining different female representations in mainstream heterosexual pornography. Through character engagement, spectatorship, empathy and identification, this thesis illustrates that they may be understood as active, strong and degrading rather than degraded.
