Darnaus vystymosi švietimas (DVŠ) – tai visą gyvenimą trunkantis procesas ir yra daug platesnis negu formalusis švietimas, apimantis formalųjį, neformalųjį švietimą ir savišvietą. Darnaus vystymo švietimas remiasi integraliu aplinkosaugos, ekonominės plėtros ir socialiniu visuomenės vystymosi požiūriu. Mokyklai tenka didelė atsakomybė parengti mokinius gyvenimui, suteikti jiems žinių, įgūdžių ir vertybių kurti darnią ateitį, išlaikant galimybę ir ateinančių kartų gerovei. Darbo tikslas – atskleisti darnaus vystymosi strategijos įgyvendinimo prielaidas Lietuvos švietime. Pagrindiniai tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Išanalizuoti darnaus vystymosi strategijos įgyvendinimo prielaidas švietimui, sukuriant jų įgyvendinimo mokykloje modelį. 2. Išanalizuoti ir palyginti vidurinės mokyklos pedagogų ir švietimo ekspertų požiūrį ir pasirengimą įgyvendinti darnaus vystymosi strategijos nuostatas. Tyrimo metodai: darnaus vystymosi strateginių dokumentų analizė, mokslinės literatūros analizė, švietimo dokumentų analizė, anketinė apklausa, interviu, statistinė duomenų analizė. Tyrime remiamasi darnaus vystymosi strateginėmis nuostatomis „Darbotvarkė 21“ ir Rio deklaracija (1992), Jungtinių Tautų Europos Ekonomikos Komiteto Darnaus vystymosi švietimo strategija (2005), Nacionaline darnaus vystymosi strategija (2003). Šiame kontekste analizuojama darnaus vystymosi koncepcija. / Education for sustainable development (ESD) becomes a lifelong learning process which continues all the lifetime and incorporates formal, non-formal education and informal learning. Education oriented to sustainable development is grounded by integral attitute to social and economic development as well as environment. A huge responsibility goes to school and teachers who have to prepare the pupils for life increasing their awareness, knowledge, skills and values needed to create sustainable future and well-being for the future generations. The principal purpose of this paper is to reveal the preconditions of Sustainable Development strategy implementation in Lithuanian school. The main research tasks are: • To carry out the analysis of the concept of Sustainable development on the basis of ES and Lithuanian strategical documents study. • To determine teachers’ point of view on SD, their readiness and competence to apply SD ideas into the curriculum. Later the points of view of teachers’ and the experts of education were compared. The following methods were applied in this paper: • Literature and document analysis; • Empirical survey; • Theoretical modelling. Basic concepts: environmental protection, legal regulation, sustainable development, protection of water and air quality, waste management, financing of environmental protection, transposition and implementation of legislation. The aim of the thesis is to determine and look into the influence of the EU environmental policy on the formation of Lithuania’s environmental policy. To this end, the analysis of EU environmental policy documents and directives has been carried out, and their transposition and implementation in Lithuania’s environmental policy have been considered. Focus has also been placed on the financing of the EU environmental policy and absorption of EU assistance in Lithuania. An expert survey has been carried out to attain this objective. The object of the thesis is the process of implementation of the EU environmental policy and its legal norms in Lithuania. The thesis raises a hypothesis that the implementation of the EU environmental policy in Lithuania depends on the competence of Lithuania’s management authorities and EU financial assistance, as the failure to absorb it indicates an inadequate level of development and efficiency of Lithuania’s environmental policy.
