Åhus Beach hemsida

Richter, Daniel January 2018 (has links)

The experience and perception of sexual harassment in the workplace

Manuel, Meegan Candice January 2017 (has links)
Magister Commercii (Industrial Psychology) - MCom (IPS) / Sexual harassment in the workplace continues to be experienced by many women around the world. Men may also be sexually harassed in the workplace by women or by other men. Given the pronounced attention accorded over the last few months to high ranking individuals within South Africa and the USA who have allegedly been involved in incidences of sexual harassment, the study is timely. The focus of sexual harassment studies within the workplace is furthermore important as it affects the employees, employers and the workplace as a whole. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the experiences and perceptions of sexual harassment of employees of an information technology company. Information technology has typically been a male dominated occupation, and prevailing traditional, paternalistic attitudes may adversely impact on women's choice and pursuit of a career in this field. However, South African legislation, promulgated to enhance the intake of women and marginalised groups, has sought to strengthen gender equality and, concomitantly, the participation of women in information technology. The current research was conducted by administering the Sexual Harassment Experience Questionnaire and Perception of Sexual Harassment Questionnaire to a sample of 131 employees. These questionnaires were distributed via email within one organisation and four regional branches of the same organisation.

Ora-pro-nobis is an edible plants with a high nutritional potential, mainly used in traditional communities as a protein food. The objective of this work was to perform the physicochemical characterization and analysis of minerals in Pereskia aculeata Mill., Pereskia grandifolia Haw. and Pereskia bleo (Kunth) DC. plants known as ora-pronobis. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm Lageado, and the evaluations carried out at the Department of Horticulture of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences of UNESP. For this study, seedlings of the three ora-pro-nobis species were used and conducted in the field with spacing 1.0 x 1.0 m between rows and plants. The experiment consisted of a total of 168 plants, 56 of each species, P. aculeata, P. grandifolia and P. bleo, respectively. Physical and chemical analyzes (solid soluble, pH, titratable acidity, reducing sugars, moisture content and ashes, crude fiber, fat, ascorbic acid, phenolic compounds, pigments - chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, anthocyanins and carotenoids), protein and minerals (P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn). It can be concluded that the three evaluated species presented as excellent sources of protein, fibers, ascorbic acid, iron, zinc, calcium and attractive coloring, because their leaves have dark green colors. P. bleo presented higher content of ascorbic acid, moisture content, high lipid content, iron and zinc. P. grandifolia presented higher levels of protein and phenolic compounds and P. aculeata had higher fiber contents. Finally, this characterization may support future studies for inclusion in dietary diets, because these plants present high nutritional potential.

ABSTRACT The use of plants in the family Euphorbiaceae, especially of the genus Euphorbia, has been popularly circulated for the treatment of a variety of infectious, tumoral and inflammatory illnesses. Among the species of this genus, Euphorbia tirucalli is a the plant with widespread use in Brasil and in some regions, such as the Vale do Jequitinhonha. There is evidence that the latex of E. tirucalli has antiviral and antitumor activity, but little is known about the mechanisms involved in this action. It is likely that the mechanism of action for such activities involves leukocyte activation and cytokine production for directing an effective antitumor and antiviral response. Thus, the present study evaluated the production of cytokines TNF-?, IFN-?, IL-4 and IL-10 in the populations and subpopulations in peripheral blood leukocytes stimulated with crude latex of this plant. For such, peripheral blood leukocytes of twenty healthy subjects were incubated for 4 hours with crude latex of E. tirucalli diluted in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and was the latex group (Lt). Cell cultures incubated with saline and DMSO, using the same incubation period, represent the control cultures that were not stimulated (CC) and solvent control (DMSO), respectively. After the incubation period, cells were stained with monoclonal antibodies specific to cell surface receptors CD4, CD8 and CD14, as well as for TNF-? intracytoplasmic cytokines, IFN-?, IL-4 and IL-10. The acquisition and analysis were performed by flow cytometry. The results showed a significant increase (p <0.05) in the percentage of T lymphocytes and their subpopulation T CD4 positive for type 1 cytokines, TNF-? and IFN-?. These cytokines are responsible for activating the immune system to immunoprotective responses against viral infections and tumor processes. However the neutrophils and T CD8 lymphocytes, in cultures stimulated with the latex of the plant, showed a mixed profile of cytokine production of type 1 and 2.These results showed a response of the type 1 predominant, in vitro, and a probable activation of modulatory mechanisms mediated by T CD8 lymphocytes and neutrophils. This study suggests that the popular use of plant in viral infections and tumor processes may have some foundation, in order to preferential production of type 1cytokines in strategic cells of the cellular immune response, that is essential in combating the diseases mentioned. However, in vitro studies conducted here are not sufficient to ensure that the use of the plant in vivo context may, in fact, possesses such properties. / Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? / Disserta??o (Mestrado Profissional) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Sa?de, Sociedade e Ambiente, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2016. / It is common to came across a large number of people who seek a quick way of learning how to play the guitar, without the help of a qualified professional, by means of informal courses and/or by other ways available on the Internet. Longing for this learning, the individual ends up with receiving fractional information, and does not use methods that entail the music theory to the guitar practice, carrying along a theoretical musical deficiency. In order to avoid this, there are institutions that work with musical learning, like the Conservat?rio Estadual de M?sica ?Lobo de Mesquita?, in Minas Gerais, which offers to the population free musical courses, seeking to form professionals in this area, to qualify them either for joining a University or to follow a professional career. One of the challenges in the process of teaching is related to the music reading and writing, whose learning requires endeavor and causes anxiety due to the musical language. The central matter that guided this work was to verify if the use of current tools could turn easier the musical reading and performance by students of electric guitar. The research was developed in the Conservat?rio Estadual de M?sica ?Lobo de Mesquita? with students of the initial course of electric guitar, and it aimed to evaluate a method of learning how to read tablature and score, based on new available technologies, without excluding the traditional ones. The intention was to offer the students of electric guitar a differentiated way of learning and playing musical pieces written in score and tablature, to reduce the anxiety and to improve performance by means of informational technology with the use of the software Guitar Pro 6. Abilities of musical listening, reading of score and tablature, as well as practice in the musical instrument were stimulated with the use of exercises proposed by the teacher. The performance developed by means of the traditional method and results obtained by using the software Guitar Pro 6 were compared. Besides the comparative evaluation of the technique developed by students, it was analyzed the anxiety in musical performance with inspiration in the Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory (K-MPAI) questionnaire, whose method was modified to be applied to a different public. Analyzing results, it was possible to verify that the use of the software Guitar Pro 6 during the guitar course for beginning students influenced the learning positively, providing the students an improvement in the abilities of learning and practicing from the score records, and in the combined reading from score/tablature, contributing to increase autonomy of students and to decrease anxiety.

University students' attitudes and behaviors : a qualitative study about environmental sustainability.

Timm, Conrad January 2018 (has links)
In order to achieve national and international climate goals and reduce the negative human impact on the climate, as well as to avoid increasing the temperature of the Earth, more environmentally friendly thinking about sustainability and environmental challenges is needed. Despite many environmental initiatives in society, it is important to emphasize and get an idea of the individual's attitudes and behaviors towards environmental sustainability to more easily influence individuals to act climate friendly. The purpose of this study is to get a picture of university students' attitudes and behaviors related to different environmentally relevant areas and activities that have a negative environmental impact, as well as underlying factors that are crucial to understand these behaviors. The study highlights previous research on behavior related to environment and students, comparatively between women and men, in relation to the media and socio-demographic and socio-economic factors. It is these factors that also are highlighted in this study and are related to the attitudes, thoughts and behaviors of the interviewed students regarding environmental sustainability. The study is based on hermeneutics as an interpretation method and with qualitative interviews as a method of collecting material. A total of eight people have been interviewed, including four women and four men. Relevant theories such as the theory of planned behavior, norm activation model and value belief norm theory derived from social psychology are used to analyze the empiricism. The study resulted in eight themes highlighting respondents' different attitudes and behaviors and thoughts about environmental sustainability. As previous research has shown, this study also confirms that attitudes and behaviors do not always coincide. The result shows that attitudes and behaviors are influenced in two different ways. Partly through a person’s childhood and social surrounding, but also through an impact of society from social media, trends and role models.

Archaeo-stratigraphy of Laang Spean prehistoric site (Battambang Province) : a contribution to Cambodian Prehistory / Archéostratigraphie du site préhistorique de Laang Spean : contribution à la préhistoire du Cambodge

Sophady, Heng 27 June 2016 (has links)
Laang Spean is the biggest prehistoric cave situated near the top of the limestone mountain known as Phnom Teak Treang, southwest of Battambang province, northwest of Cambodia, and approximately 330 km from Phnom Penh. The cave was discovered and initially excavated by Cécile and Roland Mourer in the 1960s. Since 2009, the site has been re-excavated by the Franco-Cambodian Prehistoric Mission (MNHN-Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, Cambodia). The abundant archaeological remains collected between 2009 and 2015 represent the database of this Ph.D. and have now been complemented the archaeological occupations on 5 meters of a long sequence. The cultural layers included lithic artefacts (pebbles and flint), pottery, animal bones, and human burials. The new results from seven years of excavation campaigns reveal three main occupation layers ranging from 71 000 BP to 3000 BP: Neolithic, Hoabinhian, and Pre- Hoabinhian levels. A new chronological framework was obtained using modern complementary methods (14C, OSL, U-Th dating and mineral fraction). We were able to discuss the Hoabinhian occupation (last hunter-gatherers of Southeast Asia) and replace the Pleistocene - Holocene transition. Previous Hoabinhian level (11 to 71ka), another hunter-gatherers occupation was registered with animal remains and flint flakes, which lead to question about the succession of prehistoric human activities before the Holocene in this limestone region of Northwestern Cambodia. The chronological and archaeo-stratigraphic results allow us now to better understanding the position of the Hoabinhian techno-complex in its cultural, environmental and spatial framework for the purpose of future comparisons with other hunter-gatherer sites in Mainland Southeast Asia. Finally, the Laang Spean study case shows an association of two kinds of occupation and territory exploitation: a living camp for Hoabinhian hunters and a burial site during the Neolithic period.

Stěžejní díla slovenských skladatelů pro klarinet / THE MOST IMPORTANT WORKS FROM SLOVAK COMPOSERS FOR CLARINET

Kamencay, Jozef January 2014 (has links)
The aim of my thesis is an introduction to the world of Slovak composers, clarifying the problematics of the period in which they composed and listing the most played and most important works by Slovak composers composed for clarinet. As an example, I analysed the Small Slovak Rhapsody by Juraj Filas. This work contains many elements typical for Slovak modernism. In the next section I focus on the Slovak Clarinet school, its development and the most important representatives in the educational and interperatational sphere.

Lesní roh, jak ho neznáme / Another side of the French horn

Mlčák, Daniel January 2014 (has links)
The topic of this Master's Thesis is a different side of the French horn and it offers a new perspective on performance practice. The thesis is divided into twelve chapters with sub-chapters, covering the French horn and methodological approaches supported by my own knowledge, experience and opinions. I attempt to view the details of my work from a new perspective, one different from that found in other literature on this topic. I attach here photos, my CV and the CVs of my teachers.
