Ztělesňovat Krista: Smysl a význam rituálu v 1. Korintským 12-14. / Embodying Christ: Meaning and Significance of the Ritual in 1Cor 12-14.

Bukovský, Jiří January 2018 (has links)
Embodying Christ: Meaning and Significance of the Ritual in 1Cor 12-14 This work understands 1Cor 12-14 as a text concerned with early Christian ritual and addresses the question: What does the text of 1Cor 12-14 reveal about the symbolic universe and social implications of this ritual? Early Christian meetings are understood as a complex ritual which has meaning and significance that could be interpreted on the basis of exegeting 1Cor 12-14. Meaning denotes the worldview communicated through it, significance denotes the influence of the ritual on the lives of the believers and their community. As its meaning, three metaphors appear out of the exegesis: a temple in construction, Christ's body with many members, and an image of the Spirit working in believers. These images are being played out, strengthened, and embodied in the ritual action. Apart from communicating the worldview and corresponding values, the significance of the ritual lies in that it creates a space of liminal freedom. Charismata are a dynamic reality and are not bound to particular persons. That is true especially in the case of prophesying and speaking in tongues, which based on analysis of the primary sources are in this work understood as speaking in an inspired state by a person who is being filled with the Spirit. Generally,...

For this, we review a few discussions about exegetical text. The Christian movement emerged as a Jewish sect, but matured in the Greco-Roman environment, being deeply affected by Western culture and traditions. On the one hand, suffered the influences of ancient Israelite traditions and Judaism of the Second Temple, and on the other, suffered the influences of Greco-Roman traditions, although to a lesser degree. Thus, this research shows that the prophecy and glossolalia in 1st Corinthians are ecstatic phenomena, in which context is the nearest Jewish apocalyptic mysticism.

História e profecia como fundamento filosófico-religioso na pregação de Agostinho, presbítero de Hipona / History and prophecy as philosophical-religious foundation in the preaching of Augustine, presbyter of Hippo

Fabricio Klain Cristofoletti 17 April 2015 (has links)
Once verified certain interpretative difficulty in the proposal of De uera religione (vii, 13) to found religion on history and prophecy, since there is not in this treatise a clear and comprehensive list of facts and prophecies that, concatenated in a tight argumentation, could form the foundation of Catholic religion in opposition to the heresies and schisms, the natural question is whether this gap is supplied in subsequent writings, that is, in the writings of Augustine\'s priesthood. Following the hypothesis that the historical and prophetic foundation of religion, which is closely linked to philosophy (De uera religione, v, 8), appears in the priestly preaching, whether in sermons, whether in oral teachings as Enarrationes in Psalmos 1-32, this can be seen in the sermons dealing with the Catholic creed, Sermon 214 and De fide et symbolo, but also in the historical and prophetic interpretations of Enarratio in Psalmo 1 and Enarratio in Psalmo 7. Concerning the moral counterpart of the foundation of religion, we can see it in Sermon 252, because the meditation on eschatological prophecies and on facts and prophecies about Christ and the Church is used for a moral exhortation: the faithful must abstain from all temporal and carnal interest in the Church and seek, therefore, what is eternal and spiritual, so that they may enter the Kingdom of Heaven, that is higher than any earthly good.

"O império dos sonhos - narrativas proféticas, sebastianismo e messianismo brigantino" / The empire of dreams: prophetic narratives, Sebastianismo and Bragança's Messianism

Luis Filipe Silverio Lima 30 September 2005 (has links)
This thesis analises the prophetic dreams narratives in Modern Porugal between 1600 and 1750. Its goal was to investigate how the main onirical themes, the most recurrent dreams, the interpretations and readings of biblical dreams were constituted. It was sought to perceive what were the perceptions of dreams (and prophecies) which sustained and were present in the portuguese narratives, observing the repertory of onirical references and texts and its circulation. Assuming that dream narratives had a capital role in the formulation of Sebastianism and after that, Brigantine Messianism, the links between the dreams and these movements and prophetic messianic beliefs were observed, aiming to understand the diferent political projecs in and for Portugal during this period.

A busca desta concretização o m ove a tomar muitas decisões práticas dentro e fora do reino luso. / This study intends to show the pr ophetic bases of Vieira that allowed to make an analysis of his imperial project, specificly from the Fifth Empire. In this context, prophetic works like the Clavis Profetarum , the Apologia das coisas profetizadas and the História do Futuro were helpful in this research. Starting from this la st writing, I observed that Vieira ́s work should be seen uniquely and not as fragmented parts. The tie that unites the jesuit ́s writing is his prophecy, mainly the one that refers to the Fi fth Empire. The search for this concretization moves him to take many pratic decisions insi de and outside of the Portugal kingdom. These actions, many times explicitly politic, are expressed in some of his writings (the Papel Forte , for exemple), demonstrating his real desire to promote changes in the Portugal kingdom in the so dreamed Fifth Empire.

Auto-prophéties : un nouveau paradigme pour la théorie de la dissonance cognitive / Self-prophecies : a new paradigm for the cognitive dissonance theory

Rodrigues, Lionel 09 December 2015 (has links)
Paradigm of self-prophecies is discussed under the cognitive dissonance theory. Predict his behavior would make accessible two potentially contradictory elements of thought. Firslty, normative beliefs associated with behavior that fall within the prescriptive, on the other hand, the transgressive past behavior. An individual not acting in accordance with his belief system, would be subject to a cognitive inconsistency that generates dissonance. By predicting his behavior this individual would realize that he does not always act as they should. This thesis includes six experiments (N=788). We test the effects of performing a prediction on waste recycling. Recycling is perceived as normative behavior near university population (experiment 1). Self-prophecies realized in a free-choice context and in the absence of misattribution bring the participants to express a favorable attitude for recycling (experiment 2). We show that a prediction is a source of psychological discomfort only in a free-choice context (experiment 3) and when habit of recycling is low (experiment 4). Normative beliefs are also involved in the dissonance process and mediate the effect of habit on psychological discomfort (experiment 5). The justification of past behavior, which is a mode of dissonance reduction, reduced psychological discomfort in situation of prediction (experiment 6). We propose tracks of research and possible applications to the paradigm of self-prophecies.

Tongues, prophecy and the problem of judgement by outsiders : reading 1 Corinthians 14:20-25 in regular order

Kim, Sungjong January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this study is to evaluate and validate a possible reading of 1 Corinthians 14.20-25 in regular order. The main finding of this study can be summarized as follows. a. In a contradiction between 14.22 and 14.23-25, 14.22 is not Paul the Apostle’s logical mistake, but his pastoral wisdom to remedy a conflict between the strong and the weak within the divisions of the Corinthian church. Paul’s plan is for two or three to speak, with other believers weighing this, whereas, problematically, all are speaking and non-believers are judging. This contradicts the principle set out in 6.1-11. It also exacerbates the Corinthian divisions because the judgement of the non-believers will tend to favour the ‘strong’.b. The second finding is another interpretive possibility of tongue described in 1 Cor 14 as silent tongue. c. The third finding is a relationship between the Dead Sea Scrolls and the law of 1 Corinthians 14.21. This thesis explained on how this finding is related to a conflict between the strong and the weak centering around speaking in tongues. The results of this study indicate that 14.23-25 can be read as Paul the Apostle’s worry over the Corinthian church’s wrong application of the gifts of the Holy Spirit by which outsiders might judge believers’ speech and actions.
