Rekryterare: Sänkt arbetsgivaravgift är inte nog : En kvalitativ studie om vad som påverkar rekryterare att anställa ungdomar

Geite, Clara January 2013 (has links)

Counting points of bounded height on del Pezzo surfaces

Kleven, Stephanie January 2006 (has links)
del Pezzo surfaces are isomorphic to either P1 x P1 or P2 blown up <i>a</i> times, where <i>a</i> ranges from 0 to 8. We will look at lines on del Pezzo surfaces isomorphic to P2 blown up <i>a</i> times with <i>a</i> ranging from 0 to 6. We will show that when we count points of bounded height on one of these surfaces, the number of points on lines give us the primary growth order, but the secondary growth order calculates the number of points on the rest of the surface and hence is a better representation of the geometry of the surface.

Beskrivning av systemfunktioner i kärnkraftverk med hjälp av objektorienterat modelleringsverktyg / Nuclear Power Plant System Functions : Description aided by an object-oriented modelling tool

Backskär, Daniel January 2002 (has links)
In order to facilitate design and maintenance of such a large and complex site as a nuclear power plant, all system functions must be described in a stringent way. In the past, these descriptions consisted of text documents and logical diagrams, but today there are an increasing number of object-oriented programs available on the market which might be used for this purpose. This Master Thesis has made a closer study of one of these programs named Rational Rose. The principal of the program is to facilitate software design and development, not to create models of plants. However, using the program the same way as developing software, specifying actors then gradually extend the model with use cases, use cases diagrams etc, the same methods can be used when modelling plants. During this Master Thesis most of the time has been spent developing, structuring and classifying the functions composing the Feed Water Backup System of the reactor named Oskarshamn 3. A considerable amount of time was also spent to find a general structure for typical motor and valve circuits in the plant, which are also applicable for the configuration of the Feed Water Backup System. This general structure will then be used to support maintenance and to get faster decisions when new systems are designed. Effectuating the modernization of the nuclear power plants in Sweden, an ever- increasing use of highly software intensive systems will be introduced, which also leads to the need of finding other ways to describe those systems. A suitable method is to use Rational Rose, where the entire process, from description to final product, will be done in an integrated way. Use cases are generated and together with their related documentation they will form the description of the desired system functions.

An implementation of a rational, reactive agent

Engberg, Mattias January 2003 (has links)
We are working on the development and design of an approach to agents that can reason, react to the environment and are able to update their own knowledge as a result of new incoming information. In the resulting framework, rational, reactive agents can dynamically change their own knowledge bases as well as their own goals. An agent can make observations, learn new facts and new rules from the environment, and then update its knowledge accordingly. The knowledge base of an agent and its updating mechanism has been implemented in Logic Programming. The agent’s framework is implemented in Java. This aim of this thesis is to design and implement an architecture of a reactive, rational agent in both Java and Prolog and to test the interaction between the rational part and the reactive part of the agent. The agent architecture is called RR-agent and consists of six more or less components, four implemented in Java and the other two are implemented in XSB Prolog. The result of this thesis is the ground for the paper “An architecture of a rational, reactive agent” by P. DellAcqua, M. Engberg, L.M. Pereira that has been submitted.

Active and Marginal Religious Affiliates in Canada: Describing the Difference and the Difference it Makes

Thiessen, Joel January 2011 (has links)
In 2002, Reginald Bibby surprisingly asserted that a renaissance of religion is, or soon will be taking place in Canada. However, the assertion clashes with the dominant belief based largely on Bibby’s accumulated data about Canadians’ religious beliefs and practices, that Canada is becoming an increasingly secularized society. Based on forty-two in-depth interviews, this dissertation tests the “renaissance thesis” and improves our grasp of how Canadians subjectively understand their religious involvements by comparing the views of active religious affiliates (those who identify with a religious group and attend religious services nearly every week) and marginal religious affiliates (those who identify with a religious group and attend religious services primarily on Christmas or Easter, or for rites of passage such as weddings and funerals). What explains their higher and lower levels of religious involvement, what is the likelihood that marginal affiliates could eventually become active affiliates, and how does this understanding help us to assess the degree of religiosity or secularity in Canada? I argue that active and marginal affiliates are distinct mainly because of their different experiences with the supernatural or their local congregation, and the social influences that either encourage or discourage involvement in a religious group. These conclusions emerge from a close examination and testing of fundamental principles in Rational Choice Theory, a theory currently popular in the sociology of religion and in Bibby’s ongoing analysis of religion in Canada. Contrary to Bibby’s prediction, there is little reason to believe that marginal affiliates will eventually become active affiliates, regardless of changes to the supply of religion in Canada. In general, marginal affiliates appear content with their current levels of religiosity. As a result, I think it is likely that we will witness continued secularization at the individual level in Canada, which if proven correct, could strain Canada’s civic fabric in the future.

Religion and science embraced: how a religion actively teaches and utilizes alternative religious and scientific knowledge without conflicting interpretations arising

Jean, Jason Allan 30 May 2011 (has links)
Religious fundamentalism is a confusing and not well understood phenomenon in present day Western societies. In order to obtain fresh insights into what social forces and conditions affect religious organizational development such that they become fundamentalist organizations, this study seeks to analyze a religious group that historically has been mandated to integrate and utilize alternative scientific and/or religious knowledge into their canon of teachings. A triangulation study consisting of a content analysis of its accepted history and a discourse analysis of its accredited membership are utilized to gather data on this religious organization to understand the historical, organizational, and external social circumstances that have allowed this religious community to engage and interact with alternative scientific and/or religious knowledge without interpretations of conflict becoming a source of social strife within their organization.

Poor, Oppressed and Angry; Rich, Free and Ignorant : Applying Political Economy on Hirschman's Voice

Poulsen, Jonas January 2010 (has links)
Societies will always fail to live up to the expectations of citizens one way or another, independent of their economic and political standards. Albert Hirschman proposed that citizens then have the option of expressing their voice for social change. This paper sets up a rational choice model of voice to empirically test whether higher levels of political and economic grievance make it more likely for citizens of a country to have a collective voice. The main result from the probit regression is that an increase in the level of democracy has a negative effect on the probability of voice, all else being equal.

Den andra upplysningen : En idékritisk studie av den vetenskapliga humanismen

Gill Michael, Lucas January 2008 (has links)
This 15 point level essay intends to carry out an ideological critic of the scientific humanism; the main question the essay asks is: do the Humanists practice a rational dialog. In able to find an answer to this question have I developed an analyze scheme that show what the skilful demagogue should avoid, if he have an interest in practicing a rational dialog. The essay shows that, when it comes to debating their most important issues, the Humanist does not practice a rational dialog. The Humanists deny that other forms of humanism than the one they practice exists, according to their beliefs´ humanism must contain an atheistic attitude to the world. When it comes to the Humanists debates concerning religion they accentuate those parts of the bible that they believe is destructive for mankind, these arguments have no rele-vance and are therefore not rational.
