Rekreace, sport a život v horách - Případová studie obce Bedřichov v Jizerských horách / Recreation, sport and life in the mountains - Case study of Bedřichov village in Jizera MountainsBuzínová, Michaela January 2020 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the issue of the impact of sport, recreation and weekend housing on the shape and development of the village, which is directly related to these activities and is located in a protected landscape area. My subject of interest is the specific village of Bedřichov in the Jizera Mountains. This area has been struggling in recent years with the influxt of athletes and those interested in weekend living, who mainly run cross-country skiing. Bedřichov has to adapt to this onslaught and find solutions to be a pleasant place not only for athletes and tourists, but also a pleasant place for everyday life. This thesis takes the form of a case study and the main aim is not only to present the problem in a comprehensive way but also to show how the interests of sport and everyday life in the village are balanced. The first input is the assumption that this municipality is able to balance these interests. Analysis of research data shows that these efforts have been relatively successful so far, but balancing these interests is becoming increasingly difficult. Key words Municipality, municipal government, regional development, sport recreation, quality of life, sustainable development

Tři rozdílná Mexika: aplikace SWOT analýzy na tři mexické regiony / Three Different Mexicos: application of the SWOT analysis on three Mexican regionsMoravcová, Markéta January 2020 (has links)
With the decreasing importance of national borders and rise of regions as main actors in economic activity, regional disparities are one of the pressing issues faced by many governments. The objective of this thesis is to look at the case study of trends of Mexican regional disparities. The paper draws from the New Economic Geography, which stresses importance of human and physical capital for economic growth, and Porter's theory of clusters which finds the importance of export for regional development. The paper divides Mexico into three regions: the North; the Centre and the South and uses the SWOT analysis for evaluation of each region. The thesis finds that the North is the region with highest economic performance which is the result of its export-based manufacturing industry. It benefits from its closeness to the US, but it lacks technological research connected to its products, as that takes place in the US. The Centre has been also experiencing growth. Most of its economic activity is located around Mexico City but various clusters have been created in other areas as well. Lastly, the South is the poorest and most diverse region. Its economy is based on oil, tourism and agriculture and it consists of well-performing states as well as of states in viscous cycles of poverty. The paper offers a...

Kulturněhistorický potenciál rozvoje periferních oblastí v Česku (Případová studie Horažďovicka, Kašperskohorska a Netolicka) / Cultural and Historical Potential of Peripheral Regions' Development in Czechia (Case Study Horažďovice, Kašperské Hory and Netolice Microregions)Rudová, Pavla January 2010 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the cultural and historical potential of the development of peripheral regions of Czechia. The case study covers three model areas - regions of municipalities with an authorised municipal office Horažďovice, Kašperské Hory and Netolice. The aim of the thesis is to accomplish a discursive analysis of the concept of the cultural and historical potential, together with related terms, and to consider feasibility of its embodiment into the context of surrounding regions development in Czechia, to identify cultural and historical potential of selected model areas and to propose possibilities of its usage. The methodology lies in the study of literature and in the research of selected areas. The cultural and historical potential is rated from the identifiable elements and their particular importance. The potential is relative to the area, number of inhabitants and the number of parts of the municipality. The thesis highlights several findings: (i) the coherent definition of the term cultural and historical potential does not exist in scientific literature; (ii) usage of tourism perspectives in the regional development is ahead of focus on local population (regional identity and local cultural life is less frequent); (iii) cultural and historical potential differentiate in the border...

Effects of high-speed rail on regional development : Case study of the Stockholm-Mälar region and Yangtze River Delta regionWang, Ting January 2015 (has links)
High-speed railway, as a modern means of transport with convenient, fast and mass transport volume characteristics, plays a significant role on regional development. Since 2008, in order to react to the influence of international financial crisis, China began the mass construction of high-speed rail. With the rapid construction, China has the longest mileage of high-speed rail in 2014. On the one hand, China enjoys the benefits of improved accessibility. On the other hand, many scholars think the expectations of high-speed rail are a bit exaggerated. In order to knowing and predicting the effects of high-speed rail objectively, the thesis tries to study how high-speed rail promotes the regional development in the Yangtze River Delta region of China, based on the experiences in Stockholm-Mälar Region of Sweden. The study in Stockholm-Mälar region suggests that: high-speed rail improve the overall accessibility in the region, and land along high-speed line and around station has better accessibility; frequent and easier commuting promotes regional integration; high-speed rail, on the one hand, strengthens the central position of regional center, on the other hand, brings more and equal opportunities for regional cities; moreover, large cities with good accessibility have the potential to grow up to the sub-centers. Combined with the experiences in the Stockholm-Mälar region and self-development situation, the development in the Yangtze River Delta region under the impacts of high-speed rail have following trends: first, high-speed rail promote the reorganize of urban system through the growth of new regional sub-centers and flat development; second, high-speed rail guides the reorganization of regional spatial structure, which mainly reflects in the urban land and regional cities distribute along the high-speed rail corridor; third, high-speed rail increases potential of regional commuting and accelerates the regional integration, and commuting trends will appear from major cities to Shanghai and peripheral cities to sub-centers; fourth, high-speed rail might bring positive effects (e.g. the radiation effect of regional central city) and negative effects (e.g. siphon effect, the outflow of city population and resources) for regional cities. In addition, aiming to the existing and possible issues, two supportive strategies are proposed about regional governance and urban public transportation development.

Besöksnäringens roll i utvecklingen : En studie om besöksnäringens roll i Värmlands regionala utveckling, hållbarhet och dess marknadsföring.Andersson, Jenny, Westby, Andreas January 2022 (has links)
Regional development is an area that according to previous research is perceived as a complex subject, where many factors are involved and have an influence, where the tourism industry is something that can affect regional development in both the region and outside. In regional development, there are also factors around governance, marketing and communication that can affect how destinations are developed by the tourism industry, as well as what resources can be used in the various areas. In previous research on Värmland regarding regional development perspectives, there has been a focus on regional development as a whole and not so much focus on the role of the tourism industry in it. However, the region and the municipalities see potential in the use of the tourism industry as a development tool. This study aims to highlight how the development of rural regions can be affected by the tourism industry, and to generally increase the knowledge about regional development in interaction with sustainability and the tourism industry. This is because the regional development in Värmland may still have some of the obstacles perceived in previous research, where sustainable development of the tourism industry in the countryside was seen as a major obstacle, as there were considered shortcomings in how the tourism industry would develop sustainably. In this study, the purpose and issues of the study have been kept in mind when both the theory and the empirical data have been collected, where a large part of the focus has been on, among other things, regional development, destination development and marketing. With these different concepts, categories have been given to more clearly see common denominators for the study's theoretical and empirical collection with connection to these concepts, and how this can later be read in the study's analysis and conclusions. In using the methods, the study has chosen to relate to a social constructivist approach, as the authors who have written the essay see the work with regional development as a complex social construction, which comes from different perceptions around different areas that regional development affects. The methods used by the study are document analysis and a qualitative questionnaire, which is designed according to the theoretical framework and questions in order to fulfill the purpose. Then in the empirical part, the collected empirical data is presented in division into the questions for the study. The empirical data is then analyzed from the theoretical framework, and the analysis is followed by the conclusions that can be drawn from the analysis.

Regional projektfinansiering i Västerbottens kommuner : En inomregional jämförelse / Regional project finance in the municipalities of Västerbotten : intra-re-gional comparisonBurström, Therese January 2021 (has links)
Regional project finance is an important national economic instrument for regional develop-ment in Sweden. Despite that, the research on the subject is limited meaning that there is little knowledge of the instrument’s distribution and consequences. This is problematic regarding the goal of the project funds, which is to contribute to growth throughout the country. The aim of this thesis was therefore partly to investigate how the distribution, and the applications of, regional project funds differ between Swedish municipalities with different geographical characteristics, partly to analyse the reasons for these differences. The study was a qualitative case study of Västerbotten and was divided into two parts. The first part was based on a data material on project funds of Region Västerbotten between 2014-2020 to examine how the project funds were applied for, and distributed, between the region´s municipalities during that period. The second part was mainly based on transcripts from interviews with municipal officials from six municipalities to examine the explanations for those differences. The result shows that there are significant differences between municipalities with different geographical characteristics of Västerbotten which is explained by differences in access to resources and participation in collaborative projects between the municipalities. In conclusion it therefore seems to be some challenges in enabling the whole country to take advantage of these funds.
