Die Lukasevangelien auf Caló. Die Ursachen ihrer Sprachinterferenz und der Anteil des Spanischen

Dietze, Markus 03 September 2012 (has links)
It’s our own society that makes it hard to work with this group” : A qualitative interview study on social workers experiences of working with Roma EU-citizens

Lenerhard, Evelina January 2015 (has links)
Romani people came to Sweden in the early 16th century and is today acknowledged as a minority group. Today in Sweden there’s a large group of Roma EU-citizens who come to beg. Romani people has been an exposed and discriminated group since their arrival in Sweden – a pattern that’s still relevant regarding Roma EU-citizens coming today. One profession that faces Roma EU-citizens in their work is social workers. This study aims to describe and analyse how social workers experience working with Roma EU-citizens, what difficulties or opportunities they see and how this work can be developed in the future. Furthermore, the study examines what beliefs social workers feel exists in society surrounding this group. The study uses labelling theory and theories of cultural competence. Six interviews were conducted with social workers and the study uses a qualitative approach and a hermeneutic perspective. Study results indicate that cultural differences affects working with the group. Results also show that the social workers feel there’s a lot of prejudice against the group. The study concludes that cultural competence is important in order to perform a good social work with the Romani group. Another conclusion is that structural problems complicates working with the group.

Romská lidová píseň a možnosti jejího využití v hodinách hudební výchovy / Romani Folk Song and Possibilities of its Application in Music Lessons

Sebechlebská, Ladislava January 2018 (has links)
5 ABSTRACT Romani folk song is not generally known among Czech population, which is a reason why this thesis in its theoretical part tries to familiarize with its origin, describe historical development of Romani music and divide songs according to functions and close geographical areas of its occurrence, so that a comprehensive picture can be created for the readers. The following part brings analysis of five Romani dance songs, which are described musically, textually and semantically. This section is based on various songbooks and audio recordings to create as authentic a version of a song as possible. The songs are enriched of sheet music together with lyrics and harmonisation for better possibilities of their application. The thesis continues with a suggestion of eventual means of application of Romani folk songs in vocal, musical and physical education. Moreover, there are described analysed songs with Romani scatting suggestions, typical features of expression, dance steps and rhythmical moves, which are typically observed in Romani culture. The dance steps are added in a form of textual description as well as short video recordings to become easily comprehensible. The main aim of the work is to point out the vibrant and energetic character of Romani songs, to unite Roma with majority population and...

Demography and genetic adaptation: examples from human populations

Mendizábal Eceizabarrena, Isabel, 1981- 27 July 2012 (has links)
The human colonization of worldwide landmasses occurred through complex patterns of dispersal and admixture. At the same time, the survival in the different areas of the world depended on the adaptation to new habitats that imposed novel selective challenges. With the advent of high-throughput genotyping technologies and dense catalogues of human genetic variation, the demographic history of many human populations has been unraveled from genomic data, with important implications in medical genetics. However, several human groups are yet to be genetically characterized. These incomplete past histories include the determination of ancestries of the current Cuban population, as well as the origins and dispersal of European Romani, whose demographic history is aimed to be reconstructed in this work. Finally, the present study also aims to describe the genetic basis and evolution of one of the most striking human phenotypes, the African Pygmy height.

Portraits in Roman painting

Rea, Giorgio 25 June 2018 (has links)
This project aims to reconstruct the development of painting portraits in Rome and the use of these types of image employed for Romans, from the Republic until the end of the third century AD. The portrait painted in Roman art follows the cultural changes and the limits of the Empire, mingling with artistic traditions from different cultural areas. The study of this subject, which presents profound difficulties, is often wrongly considered as a sub-argument of the theme of the statuary portrait in Rome. The painted portrait deserves a study as an independent subject because in Antiquity the painting was "l’arte guida". The old painting is now little known because most of the works have been lost and it makes the painted portrait difficult to reconstruct. The lack of archaeological sources relating to the genesis of this art form is filled by some Greek and Roman literary sources. For the imperial period archaeological evidence is more abundant, as in the case of Fayum portraits, which, however, are limited to the province of Egypt, or frescoes found in several important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean (the more valuable were found at Herculaneum, Pompeii and Stabies, but also in Syria).

Specifika ošetřovatelské péče o romskou minoritu v rámci agentur domácí péče / The specifics of the nursing care for Romany minor within the frame of home care agencies

KASOVÁ, Simona January 2013 (has links)
In the Czech Republic the Romani minority is a numerous as well as often discussed minority in these days. As one of the largest minorities in the Czech Republic is involved, not only nurses in health care facilities but also nurses working for home-care agencies meet members of the Romani minority at work. For a Romani family it is almost a duty to take care for their ill and dying relatives at home in a family circle. This care still bears elements of Romani tradition, which however often contravene with treatment regime. Despite this fact nurses from home-care agencies have good experience with taking care for Romani patients, and sometimes certain Romanies accept the use of home-care agency services. These theses on Specific Features of Nursing Care for Romani Minority in the Framework of Home-care Agencies deals in its theoretical part with a history, communication, religion, traditions and manner of living of Romani minority, further it focuses on history and scope of activities of home-care agencies, on ethics of dying and death in health-care facilities and on basic information in the field of palliative care. The second part of the theses is focused on quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research has been carried out in a form of a questionnaire addressed to nurses working in home-care agencies. Seventy one nurses from selected home-care agencies from the whole Czech Republic took part in this research. Qualitative research was carried out through structured interviews with 15 members of Romani minorities. Tasks of the work: to ascertain extent of use of services of home-care agencies by Romani minority, and to determine specific features of nursing care for dying member of the Romani ethnicity were fulfilled. Three hypotheses were determined to such tasks ? H1: Nurses from home-care agencies have already provided services to members of Romani ethnicity. H2: The Romani minority uses services of home-care agencies. H3: Nurses from home-care agencies are aware of specific features of nursing care for Romani minority. Hypotheses H1 and H2 were accepted. H3 was not accepted, as from the statistical evaluation of quantitative research it follows that nurses are not aware of specific features of nursing care. The following research questions were determined for the qualitative research: Are the members of Romani ethnicity aware of a possibility to receive help from home-care agencies in care for a dying family member? Are the members of Romani minority interested in help offered by nurses from home-care agencies in nursing of a dying family member? Results of the research of these theses were used for creation of a manual of specific features of nursing care for a dying Romani patient. The manual was sent to selected home-care agencies. Information contained in the manual may serve to nurses in an out-patient and patient departments of health-care facilities as well, as knowledge in the field of care for a member of the Romani minority dying at home may help such nurses to understand acting, communication, manner of living as well as life values of such patients at hospitalization. The whole theses may also serve in practice as an indicator of insufficient foreknowledge of the Romani minority on services of home-care agencies and necessity to spread information on such services to the Romani ethnicity.

Porozumění majoritnímu jazyku a romštině u romských předškoláků / Understanding of Majority Language and Romani language among preschool population

Pokorná, Zuzana January 2016 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to the issue of understanding Romani and the majority languages by Romani preschoolers in order to consider the possibility of introducing Romani language in schools. Also it analyses the influence of using Romani language on the ability to perform age-appropriate tasks by Roma preschoolers. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part presents a summary of the relevant works on school failure of Romani children with an emphasis on their language handicap. We also pay attention to the theory of language shift, language code, and subtractive bilingualism. In the second, empirical part a primary research is carried out examining the degree of understanding Romani and majority languages in three locations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As a methodology, a mixed research design was chosen. It was divided into two phases. During the first phase a field research was conducted, followed by quantitative evaluation of tasks performed by the Romani preschoolers in the second phase. Research has shown, that there are different linguistic situations in the surveyed locations and therefore no generic measure can be introduced. At the same time the outcomes rejected the presumption that children who speak Romani better than the majority language will be more successful in...

Mobilita Romů v kontextu lokálních vztahů. Případová studie z okresu Svidník na východním Slovensku. / Mobility of Roms in the context of local relations. Case study from eastern Slovakia, Svidník region.

Ort, Jan January 2017 (has links)
The thesis is based on a long term ethnographic field research, that has been conducted by this work's author in one of the villages within the district of Svidník, Eastern- Slovakia. The work's fundamental frame of topic are the relations between the Roms and non-Roms in the observed village, with main focus put on the actor's perspective of the local Roms. The nature of such relations is observed both synchronuously and diachronously, and foremost in respect of two types of an areal mobility, that at the same time has the potential of a social-economic mobility. The first observed type is the flow of the Roms from the romani village to a non-Roms part of the village, or the surrounding villages; the second is the cross-border migration. At the same time the thesis addresses the relations within the observed Romani community whose internal social diferentiation is partially influenced by the very - successfully or unsuccessfully - implemented mobility. To hold a wider grip of the local relations, the author uses the texts of the Romani-studies expert, Milena Hübschmannová, other related case studies coming from the region of eastern Slovakia, and, paralelly, also the concepts of the postcolonial thinking with emphasis to Frantz Fanon's work. It is his very work that has provided the frame to...

Vzdělávání romských dětí v České republice / Education of Roma children in the Czech Republic

Zarzycká, Andrea January 2009 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Education of Roma children in the Czech Republic" deals with the issue of the status quo in education of Roma children. The aim is to analyze the situation in the education of Roma children in the Czech Republic and to compare it with other European countries and find examples of good practice. The educational situation of Roma pupils remains unsatisfactory, not only in the Czech Republic but also in other European countries. Roma pupils continue to be subject to exclusion in quality education resulting from variety of many interrelated factors including poor living conditions of parents, especially high unemployment, low education level and living in social exclusion. It is necessary to make systemic changes in order to increase the quality education chances of Roma children, because the Roma population belongs among the most socially vulnerable groups affected by a variety of risk factors that often result in cumulative disadvantages and often bring the Roma into the spiral of mechanisms leading to social exclusion.
