Research subjects were two students with visual impairment in different school years and age group attending multifunctional resource room (SRM) of the State Padre Nunes and Municipal Student William Tavares de Oliveira schools. Points out - that the number of target research students, although small, is full of students with visual disabilities attended in 2014 by multi-functional resources existing in the official school system of the municipality of Coxim - MS (municipality pole of the northern region DM). In addition to students, the research subjects were also the teachers of the respective multi-functional resources they attend and the teachers who attended the in mainstream education. To achieve the goal, it was launched hand of a qualitative research approach, which initially was referred to the theoretical framework that discusses the topic and was later carried out the field study procedure by means of collecting instruments such as analysis documents, observations and interviews. The results found that the two educational institutions surveyed are still building their pedagogical practice regarding the use and appropriation of information and communication technologies when used in multifunctional resource room as assistive technology. And this path is marked by questions, doubts and concerns, bringing new challenges and changing perspectives in understanding the processes of teaching and learning, mediated by the use of communication and information technologies specifically to assistive technology, despite these doubts and uncertainties it contributed more significantly the teaching and learning of students with visual impairment process. However it is of fundamental importance to teacher training for the appropriation of information and communication technologies especially in relation to work with assistive technology in educational environments so that it develops skills and abilities that allow building pedagogical practices in congruence with these technologies. / A presente pesquisa vinculada ao programa de Mestrado em Educação da UNOESTE - Universidade do Oeste Paulista teve como objetivo investigar a contribuição trazida pelo uso das tecnologias de informação e comunicação aplicadas como tecnologia assistiva na construção do conhecimento dos alunos com deficiência visual que frequentaram a sala de recursos multifuncionais. Foram sujeitos da pesquisa dois estudantes com deficiência visual de diferentes anos escolares e faixa-etária que frequentam a sala de recursos multifuncionais (SRM) das escolas Estadual Padre Nunes e Municipal Estudante William Tavares de Oliveira. Ressalta - se que o número de alunos alvo da pesquisa, apesar de pequeno, representa o total dos estudantes com deficiência visual atendidos em 2.014 pelas salas de recursos multifuncionais existentes na rede oficial de ensino do município de Coxim - MS (município polo da região norte de MS). Além dos estudantes, também foram sujeitos da pesquisa as professoras das respectivas salas de recursos multifuncionais que estes frequentam e os professores que os atenderam no ensino regular. Para alcançar o objetivo, foi lançado mão de uma abordagem de pesquisa qualitativa, na qual inicialmente, foi consultado o referencial teórico que discorre sobre a temática e, posteriormente foi realizado o procedimento de estudo de campo por meio de instrumentos de coleta, como análise de documentos, observações e entrevistas. Os resultados constataram que as duas instituições de ensino pesquisadas ainda estão construindo seu fazer pedagógico em relação ao uso e apropriação das tecnologias de informação e comunicação quando utilizadas na sala de recurso multifuncional como tecnologia assistiva. E que este caminho é pautado por dúvidas, incertezas e inquietações, trazendo novos desafios e perspectivas de mudança na compreensão dos processos de ensinar e aprender, mediados pelo uso das tecnologias de comunicação e informação especificamente à tecnologia assistiva. Apesar dessas dúvidas e incertezas, ela contribuiu de maneira expressiva no processo de ensino e aprendizagem dos alunos com deficiência visual, no entanto, é de fundamental importância a formação docente para a apropriação das tecnologias de informação e comunicação principalmente em relação ao trabalho com a tecnologia assistiva nos ambientes educacionais para que este desenvolva competências e habilidades que permitam construir práticas pedagógicas em congruência com estas tecnologias.

The qualitative research was set under a study case. It was used an epistemological reference about the social-semiotics nature of the language, the text and reading socio-cultural conceptions, and the docent formation. The procedures applied in the data collection were the documental analysis and interviews semi-structured with three docents responsible for the referred Program, who are active in schools of full-time Education in a county in the country side of Sao Paulo. Among the results obtained, it’s highlighted the fragilities in the conditions offered by the State, which get to the point of compromising the performance of the attributions given to the teacher responsible for the Program. However, from the evaluative point of view of the three docents participating in the research, a fascination discourse emerged from the participation in the Program, and of understanding that the continuing formation has made “good results” possible in the practice of reading works. This discourse also constitutes an object of critical reflection in this thesis. / O presente estudo, vinculado à linha de pesquisa “Formação e Prática Pedagógica do Profissional Docente”, do Mestrado em Educação da Universidade do Oeste Paulista (Unoeste) em Presidente Prudente-SP, teve o objetivo de identificar e discutir o perfil do docente responsável pelo “Programa Sala de Leitura”, sua formação inicial e continuada e suas práticas de mediação no processo de construção do pensamento crítico-reflexivo dos alunos/leitores da educação básica. A abordagem foi qualitativa, configurada em um estudo de caso. Foi utilizado um referencial epistemológico sobre a natureza sociossemiótica da linguagem, as concepções socioculturais da leitura e do texto e da formação docente. Os procedimentos empregados na coleta dos dados foram a análise documental e entrevistas semiestruturadas com três docentes responsáveis pelo referido Programa, atuantes em escolas de Ensino Integral de um município do interior paulista. Dentre os resultados obtidos, destacam-se fragilidades nas condições ofertadas pelo Estado que chegam a comprometer o desempenho das atribuições dadas ao “professor responsável” pelo Programa. No entanto, do ponto de vista avaliativo das três professoras participantes da pesquisa, emergiu um discurso de encantamento na participação desse Programa e de reconhecimento de que a formação continuada vem lhes permitindo “bons resultados” nas práticas de trabalho de leitura. Esse discurso constitui, também, objeto de reflexão crítica nesta dissertação.

"DET ÄR VÄLDIGT TRÅKIGT NÄR EKONOMI AVGÖR FRÅGAN OM BARNETS BÄSTA" : Hur utredande socialsekreterare förstår och förhåller sig till principen om barnets bästa utifrån deras faktiska och upplevda handlingsutrymme

Syftet med studien var att undersöka utredande socialsekreterares förståelse av och förhållningssätt till principen om barnets bästa. Tidigare forskning visar på att barnets bästa som begrepp är svårdefinierat, att hög arbetsbelastning och tidsbrist kan påverka bedömningar om barnets bästa och att tillit samt en förtroendefull relation mellan socialsekreteraren och barnet kan främja delaktigheten. Resultatet analyserades utifrån Bronfenbrenners utvecklingsekologiska teori och handlingsutrymme som teoretiskt begrepp. Studien har använt sig av en kvalitativ metod bestående av sex semistrukturerade intervjuer. Det empiriska materialet analyserades med hjälp av en tematisk analys för att finna teman. Socialsekreterarna upplever sig ha ett stort handlingsutrymme för att göra egna bedömningar om barnet bästa. Trots att resultatet visade att begreppet var svårt att definiera var socialsekreterarna relativt eniga om hur de förstår barnets bästa och vad de väger in i bedömningen. Resultatet visade även att socialsekreterarna för det mesta hinner träffa barnen vid endast ett tillfälle under utredningsprocessen på grund av hög arbetsbelastning och brist på tid. Verksamhetens ekonomiska förutsättningar visade sig även ha en inverkan på socialsekreterarnas handlingsutrymme när det gäller att bedöma barnets bästa. / The aim of this study was to examine investigative social workers understanding of and approach to the principle of the best interests of the child. Previous research shows that it’s difficult to define the best interests of the child. Research also shows that a high workload and lack of time can affect assessments of the child’s best interests, and that a trusting relationship between the social worker and the child can promote participation. The theoretical background is based on Bronfenbrenner’s developmental ecology theory and room for maneuver as a theoretical concept. A qualitative method has been used and the empirical material was analyzed using a thematic analysis. Social workers feel that they have a large margin of maneuver to make assessments. Although the result showed that the concept was difficult to define, the social workers had a similar understanding on how they understood the concept and what they take in consideration in the assessment. However, the social workers have for the most part only time to meet the children at one point during the investigation process. Financial conditions also turned out to have an impact on their room for maneuver when it comes to assessing the child’s best interests.

Operationssjuksköterskors upplevelser av att arbeta i begränsat dagsljus : En kvalitativ intervjustudie

Bakgrund: Operationssjuksköterskan arbetar i en komplex arbetsmiljö med ansvarför bland annat patientens säkerhet, patientens positionering och att upprätthålla enaseptisk miljö. Av hygieniska skäl samt för att reducera infektionsrisk bör onödigtspring i operationssalen undvikas, vilket kan innebära att operationssjuksköterskanarbetar långa pass utan avlösning. Operationsavdelningar ligger oftast avskilda, därdet kan saknas möjligheter till dagsljus på operationssalen. Dagsljus reglerarkroppens cirkadiska rytm och vid bristande exponering för dagsljus har negativaeffekter som humörsvängningar samt sömnrubbningar setts. Goda dagsljusförhållanden har däremot påvisats generera ökat välbefinnande samt förbättradprestationsförmåga. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa operationssjuksköterskors upplevelser avbegränsad tillgång till dagsljus på arbetsplatsen. Metod:  Kvalitativ design med semistrukturerade fokusgruppsintervjuer med totalt15 operationssjuksköterskor. En innehållsanalys genomfördes med induktiv ansats. Resultat: Studien genererade två huvudkategorier, skillnad på ljus samt kontaktmed omvärlden. Operationssjuksköterskor upplevde att dagsljus påverkade demannorlunda än ljuset från lampor, varvid dagsljus ansågs vara viktigt för att upplevavälbefinnande. Den begränsade tillgången till dagsljus ledde till en inre stress sompåverkade operationssjuksköterskorna även efter arbetet. Att ha möjligheter att se utvar viktigt för att uppleva kontakt med omvärlden och bilda sig en tidsuppfattning. Slutsats: Se ut genom fönster kan minska känslan av instängdhet i den slutnakontext som operationsverksamheten innebär. Det kan även leda till ökatvälbefinnande och trivsel på arbetsplatsen. Då det råder brist påoperationssjuksköterskor anser vi att dagsljus är en viktig komponent i den fysiskaarbetsmiljön som bör tas i beaktande såväl vid vidare forskning såsom vidnybyggnation av operationsavdelningar.

Positioning of term infants during delivery room routine handling – analysis of videos

Background: Delivery room management (DR) of the newly born infant should be performed according to international guidelines, but no recommendations are available for an infant’s position immediately after birth. The present study was performed to answer the following questions: 1. How often is DR-management performed in term infants in side position? 2. Is routine DR-management possible in side position? 3. Is there any benefit of side position with respect to agitation or vital parameters? Methods: Cross-sectional study of video-recorded DR-management in term newborns delivered by C-section in 2012. Videos were analysed for infant’s position, administered interventions, vital parameters and agitation. Results: 187 videos were analysed. The Main Position (defined as position spent more than 70% of the time) was “supine” in 91, “side” in 63 and “not determinable” in 33 infants. “Supine” infants received significantly (p < 0.001) more often stimulation (12.5% of the total time) than “side” infants (3.9% of time). There were no differences between both groups with regard to suctioning; CPAP was exclusively (98%) administered in supine position. Newborns on side were less agitated than those on supine. There was a trend towards a better oxygenation in “side” positioned infants (p = 0.055) and significantly (p = 0.04) higher saturation values in “left-sided” infants than “right-sided” infants at 8th minute. “Side” positioned infants reached oxygen saturation values >90% earlier than “supine” positioned infants (p = 0.16). Conclusions: DR-management is feasible in the side position in term infants. Side position seems to be associated with reduced agitation and improved oxygenation. However, it remains unclear whether this represents a causal relationship or an association. The study supports the need for a randomized controlled trial.

Analyzing support of postnatal transition in term infants after c-section

Background: Whereas good data are available on the resuscitation of infants, little is known regarding support of postnatal transition in low-risk term infants after c-section. The present study was performed to describe current delivery room (DR) management of term infants born by c-section in our institution by analyzing videos that were recorded within a quality assurance program. Methods: DR- management is routinely recorded within a quality assurance program. Cross-sectional study of videos of term infants born by c-section. Videos were analyzed with respect to time point, duration and number of all medical interventions. Study period was between January and December 2012. Results: 186 videos were analyzed. The majority of infants (73%) were without support of postnatal transition. In infants with support of transition, majority of infants received respiratory support, starting in median after 3.4 minutes (range 0.4-14.2) and lasting for 8.8 (1.5-28.5) minutes. Only 33% of infants with support had to be admitted to the NICU, the remaining infants were returned to the mother after a median of 13.5 (8-42) minutes. A great inter- and intra-individual variation with respect to the sequence of interventions was found. Conclusions: The study provides data for an internal quality improvement program and supports the benefit of using routine video recording of DR-management. Furthermore, data can be used for benchmarking with current practice in other centers.

Economic violence is a relatively unexplored societal problem even though it often occurs in intimate relationships. In accordance with Swedish legislation different municipalities have the power to freely adjust support based on conditions and needs at a local level. The duty and responsibility of the Swedish social services is to promote people's economic and social security, and thereby contribute to active participation in society.  Therefore, our aim with this study is to understand how the Swedish social services are paying attention to and handling women who have been subjected to men's financial violence in close relationships and have applied for financial assistance. The study is based on 6 semi-structured interviews in three different-sized municipalities with social workers that work within financial assistance. Our study has shown similarities and differences between the municipalities and the individual social workers. All the social workers found economic violence to be invisible. Our study also showed that the social workers room for maneuvering was perceived differently and was in fact also different in terms of several factors. Further the study shows the need to reflect upon gender. All social workers were aware of gender norms and discussed who in the relationship, between a man and a woman, would retain the financial assistance. To a small extent the social workers were even part of maintaining traditional gender norms by giving the financial assistance to the man.

Skälig levnadsnivå, ett tvetydigt begrepp? / Reasonable standards of living, an ambigiuous term?

I Sverige använder socialtjänsten lagar för att tillgodose olika levnadsstandarder till olika grupper av människor. Aktuell studie har syftat till att undersöka hur biståndshandläggare resonerar kring begreppet skälig levnadsnivå och hur det används i praktiken inom äldreomsorgen. En kvalitativ studie har utförts där åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts med biståndshandläggare från tre olika kommuner i Sverige. En vinjett med ett fiktivt ärende har även använts för att undersöka om det finns olikheter i bedömningar mellan biståndshandläggare. Utifrån den insamlade empirin så har en tematisk analys genomförts och fyra teman har presenterats i resultatdelen. Dessa teman är vad är skälig levnadsnivå?, god vs skälig levnadsnivå, handlingsutrymme och olikheter i bedömning. Resultatet visar att det finns olikheter i bedömningar och att begreppet skälig levnadsnivå är ett abstrakt begrepp som har ett stort tolkningsutrymme. Parallellt visar studiens resultat att majoriteten av biståndshandläggare upplever sitt handlingsutrymme en lagom nivå. En diskussion förs mellan vikten av att ha handlingsutrymme och ett rättssäkert samhälle där alla behandlas lika av myndigheter. Slutsatsen visar att det är en svår balansgång och att det krävs mer forskning inom ämnet. Resultatet har analyserats med hjälp av tidigare forskning och Lipskys teori om gräsrotsbyråkrater samt Maslows behovspyramid. / In Sweden the social services use different laws to meet different living standards for different groups of people. The current study has aimed to investigate how social workers in elderly care reason about the concept of a reasonable standard of living and how it is used in practice. A qualitative study was conducted in which eight semi-structured interviews were conducted with social workers in the elderly care unit from three different municipalities in Sweden. A vignette has also been used to investigate whether there are differences in assessments between social workers. Based on the collected empirical data, a thematic analysis has been carried out and four themes have been presented in the results section. These themes are what is a reasonable standard of living?, good vs reasonable standard of living, room for maneuver and differences in assessment. The results show that there are differences in assessments and that the concept of a reasonable standard of living is an abstract concept that has a large scope for interpretation. In parallel, the results of the study show that the majority of development assistance officers feel that their room for maneuver is at a reasonable level. A discussion is held between the importance of having room for maneuver and a law-abiding society where everyone is treated equally by the authorities. The conclusion shows that it is a difficult balancing act and that more research is required in the subject. The results have been analyzed with the help of previous research and Lipsky's theory of grassroot bureaucrats and Maslow's pyramid of needs.
