This paper focuses on the analysis of the function of orality and the colloquial register observed in thirteen short stories written by the Spanish writer Max Aub, in the cycle El Laberinto mágico. These short stories are about life in the concentration camps the French created in France at the end of the Spanish Civil War in order to hold the defeated and broken men and women that crossed the Pyrenees and then became inmates of such camps. The corpus encompasses the following stories: Vernet, 1940, Una historia cualquiera, Historia de Vidal, Los creyentes, Un traidor, Manuel el de la Font, El limpiabotas del Padre Eterno, Yo no invento nada, Ruptura, El cementerio de Djelfa, Manuscrito cuervo: historia de Jacobo, Playa en invierno and Ese olor. The analysis is based on the study of the following elements: lexicon, syntax, forms of address, records of spoken language, occurrence of idioms, use of proverbs, as well as the socio-cultural and linguistic level of the narrator and the characters.

Post Graduation in the Portuguese Language of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de
São Paulo. Having in mind the Learning Expectations present in the Pedagogic Project of
two public schools in the East Metropolitan Area of the city of São Paulo, at the first place,
it has been checked the models used by the students to build up the semantic relations
responsible for the cohesion of their texts. Immediately after that, it has been defined, in
the production of the text of these students the resources that present inadequacies and to
close, it has been checked whether the students of the 7th grade of the secondary school of
these schools have established the cohesion in the adequate form in the school years that
correspond to their age group (11-13 years old). For the examination, it has been opted for
genre short stories, as it has been contemplated in the schools since the first grade. The
choice has been based in the hypotheses that is easier to analyse the student s writing,
when using textual outputs, which structure is or should be familiar to their authors. For
that, it has been adopted the concept of text advocated by Beaugrande (1997):
communicative event where the actions of linguist order, cognitive and socials, are related.
From those actions, it has been highlighted the ones of linguist order and prioritization has
been given to the concepts of cohesion proposed by Fávero (2010), who conceives
cohesion in a level different from the one of the coherence. The analyse has shown us that
the strategy of the cohesion are presented in the productions. However, the students from
one school, as well as the students from the other one, have shown certain cohesive
inabilities in relation to what is expected from them at the end of school years spent in the
secondary school, considering that the Learning Expectation orient the teaching of the
Portuguese language in the Municipal schools of the city of São Paulo / de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Língua Portuguesa da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de
contemplado desde o Ciclo I nas escolas.

Previous issue date: 2007-10-18 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / This dissertation is set in the Reading and Writing research line and its
purpose is to study the importance of the reference strategies for the construction
of meanings in the text. We intend to evidence, through the analysis of two short
stories, the importance of the reference process for the construction of meanings
of a text.
The aim of this project is to contribute to the Portuguese Language
studies, especially to reading. Our specific purposes are: 1. to verify how the
reference strategies occur in Clarice Lispector s short stories Os laços de família e
Feliz aniversário; 2. to reflect about how the reference process can help the reader
in the construction of meanings of the literary short stories.
The theoretical basis is in the Text Linguistics and, in order to reach our
goals, we sought authors who deal with reference, like Mondada and Dubois
(1995, 2003), Koch (2004a), Koch and Elias (2006), et al. The reference strategies
were discussed according to Apothéloz and Reichler-Béguelin (1995). We similarly
discuss the reading according to Koch (2005b) and Koch and Elias (2006).
Concerning to short stories, our project is based on the studies of Moisés (1967),
Gotlib (1988), Propp (1983) and Jolles (1976).
The results obtained from the short stories analysis showed that the
reference process can help the reader construct meanings in the texts he reads,
since such process makes the reader construct cohesive chains of meaning. We
understand that our research opens new perspectives of reference study in other
kinds of texts and for the teaching of reading in last grades of Primary Education / Esta dissertação insere-se na linha de pesquisa Leitura e Escrita e tem
sentidos do texto.
sentidos do conto literário.
do Ensino Fundamental

Previous issue date: 2010-05-31 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The objective of this study is to investigate the literature of João Guimarães Rosa aiming
at catching a glimpse at a purpose in Rosean writing. Such an intent was drawn from
the observation that, in the critical works about the writer, few were interested in
questioning his work under the concept of writing. In this sense, this research has the
goal of revealing Rosean writing in the light of the mythic poetic concept of literature. To
do that, we questioned the composition of his writing in the relationships it establishes
with language, myth and poetry. Our concern was to examine Rosean writing according
to a mythical view, trying not only to unveil his concept of writing but also to make
explicit its way of functioning. Our reflection was orientated by the following hypotheses:
a mythic poetic approach to Rosean literature allows a glimpse at the metamorphic
occurrences of his word; the concreteness of the Rosean word allows the understanding
of a metaphysical destination to his writing. To develop this study, we selected as its
corpus the short stories Sorôco, sua mãe, sua filha (1962), Meu tio o Iauaretê (1961),
and Lá, nas campinas (1967). The theoretical basis was founded on the concepts of
writing proposed by Roland Barthes and Jacques Derrida, and of mythology proposed
by Mielietinski, Eliade and Cassirer, as well as on critical essays produced by Rosean
literature reviewers. We also made use of the poetic principles of the writer himself,
gathered from interviews and correspondence. We concluded that the literature of João
Guimarães Rosa brings into light a high degree of language realization, revealing it as a
kind of rationalist metaphysics, as a writing that, chopping the word, configures the
metamorphosis of the literary sign. Moreover, it proposes to man, through language and,
by extension, through poetry, a rationalist transcendence, guided by the metaphysical
linguagem, o mito e a poesia.
Orientaram a nossa reflex o as

Read short stories from XVIth french century, it’s like reading fancy stories or recreations, far away from Rabelais’books. However, this unsettled literature has a « grande variété de formes narratives qui témoignent de [s]a souplesse et de [s]a plasticité […], laboratoire des expériences romanesques à venir » (D. Souiller, La nouvelle en Europe de Boccace à Sade). It’s difficult, indeed, to give a set generic identity at these texts. Without contemporary arts of poetry, modern critics suggest debatable definitions. Too restrictive or partial, those definitions end up at a compromise : to give main characteristics (brevity, moral, good trick, good word, « realism », etc.) without make a clear distinction with close narrative forms (« discours bigarrés », « histoires tagiques »). Yet, there is another path : take the point of view of « romans comiques »’ authors in order to take advantage of a writing fed from Renaissance’s storytellers and of a reading closer with XVIth century’s readers, that is to say refine modern studies in order to draw up the first list of reliable and operating generic criteria.

Previous issue date: 2017-04-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The aim of this assignment is to reflect on the ways of recreating Afro-Mozambican myths in the narratives “A Lenda de Namarói” (2012), “A infinita fiandeira” (2009) e “Nas águas do tempo” (2012), by Mia Couto. The problematization questions: to what extent do the African Myths imply the process of identify and social institution of the African community and, by extension, of the Mozabican? How does Mia Couto assimilates these mythical aesthetics in his narratives? Two hypotheses were selected: The Myth inscribes an affirmation in the construction and institutionalization of life and in the Regime of Truth of the Afro-Mozambican people; Mia Couto's narrative recovers and recreates the aesthetic and the mythic structures of Mozambican culture in order to keep alive the veracity and the belief in the Myths as a matrix of real and valid thought. As a theoretical basis for approaching the Myth, we highlight the concepts of Anti-Narcissus, Penser autrement (CASTRO,2015), Regime of Truth (FOUCAULT,1999); and Tautegory (SCHELLING, 2007); in relation with the process of mythical aesthetics recreation in the literary composition, we utilize the concept of transcreation, by Haroldo de Campos (1992), as well as semiotic sign propositions of Charles Sanders Peirce (2000) and Octavio Paz (1976). It is observed that Mia Couto retrieves and presentifies mythical aesthetic and structural compositions as a way of institutionalizing and giving voice to orality, to the matix of thought and to the Regime of Truth of the Afro-Mozambican subject as a living and present reality / O objetivo deste trabalho é refletir sobre formas de recriação de Mitos afro-moçambicanos nas narrativas “A Lenda de Namarói” (2012), “A infinita fiandeira” (2009) e “Nas águas do tempo” (2012), de Mia Couto.

Folheando a obra (e a vida) do grão-senhor da Villa Fortunata: um estudo sobre René Thiollier / Browsing through the works (and life) of the master of Villa Fortunata: a study about René ThiollierPinheiro, Valter Cesar 25 August 2014 (has links)
René de Castro Thiollier (1884-1968), lawyer and journalist born in São Paulo, Brazil, wrote short stories, historical/biographical studies, chronicles and essays, in addition to one novel, published on the pages of Revista da Academia Paulista de Letras, which was left unfinished. He was present at two of the most representative events of our Modernism: the Modern Art Week, in 1922, and the famous voyage to rediscover Brazil, in 1924. The purpose of the present study is to analyze his literary production Senhor Dom Torres and A Louca do Juqueri, which are short stories, and Folheando a Vida, his unfinished novel based on the examination of the publication means (the object book), of the paratexts, and of the configuration of the storytelling instances. In Senhor Dom Torres, printed in 1921, are there traces that anticipate the aesthetic experiments that will emerge in the years following the Modern Art Week? Are the modernist advances, a result of the fierce confrontation held during the 20´s, present in A Louca do Juqueri, published in 1938, and in Folheando a Vida, which was published in chapters in a magazine during the 40´s? Vigorous in the first half of the 20th century, the literary relations between Brazil and France, emphasized by René Thiollier´s French ancestry, are evident in his works. Therefore, the listing and analysis of the references to French-speaking writers (among which Anatole France, author of Histoire contemporaine, stands out) mentioned in the texts or marginally, in epigraphs is also part of the scope of this project.

O mundo, o núcleo e a mão: figuras da cura em Clarice Lispector? um estudo psicológico de contos e do depoimento de leitores / World, core and hand: images of healing in Clarice Lispectors work: A research with short stories and interviews with readersBarbosa, Rita de Cássia Kileber 10 June 2013 (has links)
Clarice Lispector cura porque não pretende curar: quando os leitores aceitam a mão que ela lhes oferece, podem recuperar a autenticidade perdida e um olhar orientado para a vitalidade e a alteridade do mundo e dos núcleos / Clarice Lispectors writing brings passion to some readers, and in others, an unsurpassable uneasiness. Deponents let their contribution to this research, talking about their feelings of gratitude and changes reached after reading Clarices texts. The authors nine short stories were selected and analyzed through D. W. Winnicotts psychoanalytic theory and the phenomenological psychology, in trying to understand the unique and intense way she touches her readers. Three images that often appear in Clarice Lispectors work were elected as central to the investigations which here were designated as healing: the world, the core and the hand. Each image links to other important subjects: the living and the neutral. Clarice Lispector heals because she does not intend to heal: when the readers take the hand she offers, they are able to recover their lost authenticity and a view oriented to vitality and to the cores and worlds otherness

O mundo, o núcleo e a mão: figuras da cura em Clarice Lispector? um estudo psicológico de contos e do depoimento de leitores / World, core and hand: images of healing in Clarice Lispectors work: A research with short stories and interviews with readersRita de Cássia Kileber Barbosa 10 June 2013 (has links)
