Engaging the consumer online : A quantitative study of attaining consumer engagement through social media in the luxury fashion segmentBenediktsson, Birkir, Levenius, Jonas, Ramos, Sebastian January 2018 (has links)
Good communication is an important factor for a firm to think about when wanting to engage their consumers. Recently there has been an interest over the concept of consumer engagement within the context of social media by business practitioners. Social media today is used in most aspects of life and it is important to understand how to use it in order to enhance business strategies when approaching consumers. Consumer engagement has been defined through existing research in different ways, having no clear model for practitioners to follow when attempting to engage consumers. This is one of the main problems within existing research, as well as each focusing on different social media triggers. It is important to understand which triggers are more relevant when trying to attain consumer engagement. As well as bringing up the benefits that comes from utilizing such a concept. Research regarding consumer engagement within social media is required within a different context, in order to determine the triggers relevancy to the concept of engagement. Therefore, the purpose of this study is about attaining consumer engagement through the use of social media in the luxury fashion segment, which was done through the use of Brodie et al conceptual model of consumer engagement. The research that was conducted was of a quantitative nature, utilizing a cross-section research design. To gather primary data a questionnaire was created and distributed through social media, where 101 respondents out of a desired 90 were used for the analysis. The data gathered through the questionnaire was then analysed through the statistical program of SPSS, where descriptive statistics, a correlation analysis and a regression analysis were conducted. This was done in order to ensure the validity and reliability, as well as getting results to accept or rejected the presented hypotheses. The findings of this paper show that each of the five independent variables has a significant effect on the dependent variable of consumer engagement when tested on their own. However, when all the variables were tested together three out of the five hypotheses presented were rejected, these being the independent variables of co-developing, advocating and socializing. This does not mean that the variables for which hypotheses got rejected should be disregarded according to the results obtained from the regression analysis, according to the data gathered these triggers are still individually relevant to the attainment of consumer engagement within the luxury fashion segment via social media.

Famílias patrifocais: paternagem e socialização dos filhos / Patrifocal families: paternity and socializing of children.Flavia Abade 14 April 2014 (has links)
The family institution has different arrangements according to the social context and the historical moment. Changes in family composition and in its internal relations were induced by many factors, including the Government action, which manifests itself, for example, in the decision on the custody of children after the separation. The judicial system has been favoring unilateral custody, granted mostly to mothers, but that goes through transformations, when is granted to the father. This study aims to inquire the forms of organization and living in lowincome patrifocal families, in which the father, separated/divorced of wife and without her company, lives with the child he had with her and is responsible for care and his socializing. Seeks to investigate the relationship of the father with the child, such as holding the care, arrange household tasks and reconciles with his occupational activities and with his personal and affective life. Data collection was done through interviews with screenplay semistructured recorded and transcribed in their entirety, with seven fathers who live with children without the presence of the mothers. For the identification of the subjects used the network of researchers personal relationships and have been adopted all necessary ethical procedures. After the transcription of interviews, have been done analysis of the data collected. Among the main results, one can mention the fathers interviewed reported that they believed to be skilful to take care children than the mothers, so they stayed with the children after the end of the conjugal relationship. Some asked the custody at the judicial system and other fathers did not. In patrifocal families, there is involvement of women of the extended family and the oldest daughters in child-care. However, this study finds the active presence of fathers in child-care and others domestic tasks, concluding that the absence of mothers in the house imposes on fathers greater involvement in domestic life, changing the identity and subjectivity of man/father.

As social interactions migrate to the ubiquitous Internet we are facing a change in theway we relate to each other, which presents interesting new opportunities foranonymity to create identities. An aspect of this radically evolving technology thatexhibits strong possibilities for altering or producing identities is the rapidly growingonline game genre MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) which isentertainment that millions of people all over the globe engage in daily. Thisrelatively new platform for socialising has become of cultural and social significance, which is why it calls for examination and research. Thus, the main research questionsasked in this thesis are as following: How does players of MMOGs utilise the nighcomplete anonymity to present or modify their identities online? In which ways areMMOGs used as a platform for socialising and development of social groupdynamics? After observing a large group of players in a popular MMOG, as well asconducting several interviews with key identities within the group, I discovered three fundamental parts of identity creation, and created a model for use and applicationin different social situations and constellations.

This study examines preschool theatchers' perceptions of abusive language among children and the purpose is to expose their ideas of abusive language impact on children's socializing process.
Work groups are part of the main informal school life-stirring factors in Senegal. Though they are at the core of socializing activities in high school education, they have never been studied on a sociological basis. Nevertheless, one has to admit that in the past years, they have become simultaneous and alternative to official and regular transmission of education contents due to the ever growing incapacity of school to take on this essential mission of students’ supervision. Qualitative and quantitative surveys carried towards 110 work groups show that these groups are where gender-related practices start off. Two socializing models, introverted and extroverted, regulate social activities and school and professional projects. The model we shall call “introverted” lead girls, one the one hand, to a limited use of school sociability activities in order to favor their matrimonial project and short-term trainings. On the other hand, boys in this model are encouraged to build on a strong school and professional project. This thesis study questions the on-going transformations in the Senegalese socializing trends, that can be partly explained by the access of women to modern employment sectors. This feminine presence on the employment market doesn’t trigger necessarily a negotiation in parental terms. The study of the work groups’ role in school success show that disadvantaged social groups benefit a lot from socializing activities through access to a social space prone to school and professional vocations.

Socializační procesy v průběhu adaptace dítěte v mateřské škole / Socializing processes during the child's adaptation in the kindergartenŠafránková, Tereza January 2011 (has links)
The dissertation is concerned with socializing processes of pre-school children around three years of age. The first theoretical part is globally concerned with personality socialization and highlights the significance of socialization in the healthy psychical progression of human beings, as well as the importance of understanding the problems of socialization for the pedagogical profession. This knowledge is specific and generalized in a situational context when the child comes to the kindergarten for the first time and gets slowly untied from the family, developing new relationships outside the family sphere. Socialization in the kindergarten is influenced by many internal and external factors. These factors matter if the child coming to the new kindergarten environment will incorporate to this society without any complications. If any complications appear during the incorporation, internal and external factors also influence the period how long they will last and also they influence the manner how the child will manage them as well. Adaptation programm can facilitate the entrance to the kindergarten for parents and their children. By means of this support programme, alongside the familiar person, children can gradually get acquainted with the new kindergarten environment even before the start of...

The new CEO’s organizational socialization. From the former CEO’s departure to the new one’s strategic integration.Daclin, Marine 10 December 2012 (has links)
The job of CEO is rich and complex and the "number one" change, poorly understood, may have an impact on the socio-economic performance, strategy, policy and the organization of the company. Facilitate the arrival of new manager is an important issue for the survival and development of the organization, as well as its organizational socialization remains little studied. The first part explains the conceptual and methodological research, and presents lots of experiments of our assumptions and our tools. We use interviews with executives to define the business leadership and highlight the specifics CEO’s roles and skills. The specific relationship between the leader and its Governance is also studied. Its specific needs of organizational socialization are then demonstrated, particularly in relation to a buyer company and a "classic" employee. In the second part, the concept of organizational socialization is suitable for demanding and unique leader, through the concept of CEO’s Organizational Socialization. This model meets the needs of leader’s socialization, especially during integration, organizational socialization’s milestone. It consists of three types of recoveries: politico-strategic, organizational and managerial. The quality of these recoveries led to the quality of leader’s integration, reclassified strategic integration because of its strategic challenges. An analytical framework is proposed to allow both the new leader to better understand the organization that will lead, but also its own needs through organizational socialization variables and factors that compose it.
