High Performance Content Centric Networking on Virtual InfrastructureTang, Tang 28 November 2013 (has links)
Content Centric Networking (CCN) is a novel networking architecture in which communication is resolved based on names, or descriptions of the data transferred instead of addresses of the end-hosts.
While CCN demonstrates many promising potentials, its current implementation suffers from severe performance limitations.
In this thesis we study the performance and analyze the bottleneck of the existing CCN prototype. Based on the analysis, a variety of design alternatives are proposed for realizing high performance content centric networking over virtual infrastructure.
Preliminary implementations for two of the approaches are developed and evaluated on Smart Applications on Virtual Infrastructure (SAVI) testbed. The evaluation results demonstrate that our design is capable of providing scalable content centric routing solution beyond 1Gbps throughput under realistic traffic load.

Exploring women entrepreneurship in selected areas in South Africa / Stander C.J.Stander, Cornelia Johanna January 2011 (has links)
It is vital that a culture of entrepreneurship is developed in order to unleash the
economic potential of all people in South Africa. However, because of the South African
woman’s inherited gender role and historical imbalances, women entrepreneurs are
faced with unique challenges and barriers when attempting to establish and grow their
own businesses. Thus, this study investigated the unique challenges and barriers faced
by women when conducting entrepreneurial activities.
The literature study provided background information on entrepreneurship in general as
well as information on the importance of entrepreneurship to the economy and
constraints of entrepreneurship. The woman entrepreneur was explored in terms of her
characteristics, motivation to become an entrepreneur and the unique challenges she
had to face. The empirical study consisted of a questionnaire developed by the North–
West University, specifically the Potchefstroom Business School situated on the
Potchefstroom Campus. A total of 120 questionnaires were distributed and 87 were fully
completed and collected, which resulted in a response rate of 72.5%.
The data collected was statistically analysed using Statistica 10 (Statsoft, 2011). The
data from questionnaires was coded and investigated and then transformed to useful
outputs such as frequency tables. The frequency tables were used to draw conclusions
and to make recommendations regarding the development of women entrepreneurs in
South Africa. / Thesis (MBA)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2012.

The efficacy of the talking tables program in the development of phonological awareness in kindergarten children at risk for reading difficultiesHodgins, Helena 23 December 2014 (has links)
Programs to support early literacy development are implemented regularly in the schools without research on their efficacy. This study examined the efficacy of a commonly used program for struggling readers. Twelve kindergarten children who were at-risk for reading difficulties took part in a 10 week intervention program called Talking Tables. Twelve kindergarten children, also at-risk for reading difficulties were the control group, and received no intervention. The children in the intervention group made significant gains in phonological awareness. The results suggest that the Talking Tables is effective as an early intervention in developing phonological awareness skills in kindergarten children that are at-risk for reading difficulties. / Graduate / 0535

The dissertation work avers the findings of special physical performance in young volleyball players. The testing of the volleyball teaom of Třebín took plage in the season 2006 / 2007 during the volleyball training in Římov. This work is dividend into two parts. The first part avers the characteristics, rules and foundations of volleyball, the means of motor skills and thein specifications. The second part looks at problems in practice. There are tables and graphs of measured and statistically teamed data here.

The main goal of this work is to study the dynamical behavior of a point-like (dimensionless) particle in the interior of planar regions. Such systems are known in the literature as billiards. We're going to present the principal concepts of those systems and we'll see that such system turns the probability measure invariant, which allows us to apply the Ergodic Theory to billiard problems
