Designing good digital experiences for children can be difficult; designers have to consider children's cognitive and motor skill limitations, understand their target audience, create something entertaining and educational, comply with national and international jurisdiction, and at the same time appeal to parents. We set out to create a general framework which designers and developers can use as a foundation and testing ground for their digital products in the field of user experience. The methods used during the thesis include interviews, literature studies, user testing, case studies, personas, prototyping, and more. The results created are primarily user experience guidelines packaged in a Theoretical Framework, user testing conclusions, along with suggestions on improving the current Lego Star Wars: Force Builders application, a few in the form of prototypes.

Includes bibliographical references / Pages not numbered / Music has formed a part of human life as far back as demonstrable. Music existed long before musical instruments made their appearance. The examination of textual evidence read in conjunction with the available archaeologic evidence from the time and area clearly demonstrates which musical instruments were available and the instances they were used at. It clearly points to the lyre as the primary proponent of the musical culture of the time with regards to melodic music. This is confirmed from what we learn from the ancient tuning tablets. There thus is a direct demonstrable connection between the instrument and the theory of the time. Work done on the musical elements of the cantillation marks of the Hebrew Bible comfortably fits into this framework and appears to be a direct influence on the manner in which the Psalms were sung and composed. A combination of literary, archaeological and musical sources can thus be used within a literary and historical approach to demonstrate the availability of musical instruments in AIP, the manner in which tonality was recorded and its influence on the development of the Psalms. / Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies / M.A. (Biblical Archaeology)

O cloridrato de ranitidina, um antagonista dos receptores H2 da histamina, foi determinado em comprimidos e injetáveis por espectrofotometria no ultravioleta, a 313nm, e por espectrofotometria no visível, a 615nm, utilizando o cloridrato da hidrazona da 3-metil-2-benzotiazolinona (MBTH) a 0,35% em HCl 0,M e cloreto férrico a 0,40% em HCl 0,1M, como reagentes de cor. Na espectrofotometria no ultravioleta a lei de Beer foi obedecida no intervalo de concentração de 5,0 a 18,0 µg/mL. Quatro amostras comerciais foram analisadas. Os coeficientes de variação foram 0,36% e 0,71% para comprimidos, e 0,51% e 0,24% para injetáveis. A média de recuperação foi 99,88%. Na espectrofotometria no visível a lei de Beer foi obedecida no intervalo de concentração de 1,44 a 5,76 µg/mL. Os coeficientes de variação foram 0,72% e 0,59% para comprimidos, e 0,53% e 0,61% para injetáveis. A média de recuperação foi 99,39%. Os resultados foram comparados estatisticamente e foram compatíveis para as amostras que se encontravam em bom estado de conservação. / Ranitidine hydrochloride, a histamine H2-receptor antagonist, was determined in tablets and injections by ultraviolet spectrophotometry at 313nm , and visible spectrophotometry using as color reagent 0,35% 3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone hydrochloride in HCl 0,1M and 0,40% ferric chloride in HCl 0,1M. In ultraviolet spectrophotometry, Beer\'s law was obeyed in the range of concentration from 5,0 to 18,0 µg/mL. Four commercially available were analyzed. The coefficients of variation were 0,36% and 0,71% for tablets, and 0,51% and 0,24% for injections. The recovery average was 99,88%. In visible spectrophotometry, Beer\'s law was obeyed in the range of concentration from 1,44 to 5,76 µg/mL. The coefficients of variation were 0,72% and 0,59% for tablets, and 0,53% and 0,61% for injections. The recovery average was 99,39%. The results obtained by using the two methods were statistically compared and were compatible when samples were kept in good conditions of storage.

Aj-Ts’ib, Aj-Uxul, Itz’aat, & Aj-K’uhu’n : classic Maya schools of carvers and calligraphers in Palenque after the reign of Kan-Bahlam

Ancient Maya inscription carvers at the city of Palenque in what is now Chiapas, Mexico worked in teams to complete large and complex stone tablets. Like artists everywhere, they each had developed idiosyncratic habits which the modern connoisseur can learn to discern, in order to identify which parts of a particular monument were sculpted by one or another artist. The author scrutinized several eighth-century CE inscriptions, panels in stucco and limestone, analyzing how many artists worked on each, to wit: the Temple XVIII Stuccos, the Temple XIX Platform, the Temple XIX Stuccos, the Temple XIX Panel, the Panel of the 96 Glyphs, the Lápida de la Creación and associated fragments, the Palace Tablet and its associated fragmentary panels, and the Tablet of the Slaves. The ensemble whose main components are the Panel of the 96 Glyphs and the Lápida de la Creación are all by one hand, and the Tablet of the Slaves was the work of four carvers, but the Temple XIX Platform surprisingly employed fourteen carvers, and the Palace Tablet over a score. Their territories were not divided textually, and display idiosyncratic spellings of glyph compounds as well as carving habits. The conclusion discusses possible reasons for these findings, relating them to the unusual Maya practice of never correcting mistakes in monumental inscriptions. A likely reason seems to be that the ancient Maya considered these texts not merely as a permanent record, but as ongoing, living repetitions of the ritual in question, and had to be completed in a very short time. / text
