Poetika místa v pohádkách bratří Grimmů a ve vybraných pohádkách Karla Jaromíra Erbena / The poetics of space in the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers and in the selected fairy tales of Karel Jaromír Erben

Ledinská, Šárka January 2012 (has links)
The poetics of space is a very interesting field, which has been so far marginalized from the theoretic point of view in comparison with other types of the poetics of literary work. Fragmentary information devoted to this theme has often been hidden in theoretic works that applied the poetics of space to some specific literary works. To be able to start focusing myself on the poetics of space in fairy tales, I had to lay the basis for the poetics of space in the first part of my thesis. The basis is built by the chapters in which I was concerned with the poetics of literary work and where I collected, organized and made transparent actual theoretic information about the poetics of space and its parts, space and place. I used these chapters for the specification of the terms used in my thesis. That specification enabled me to focus on the poetics of space in the fairy tales in the second part of thesis. As my research material I chose Grimms' fairy tales and eight Erben's fairy tales. I used this material to verify the relevance of particular hypotheses. In terms of my research I concerned on topics such as the poetics of space from the wider and the closer point of view, the boundaries of the fairy tales' space, the description and the layout of the space, the main and the side character in the...

From 1970 until the present day its writing underwent changes that accompanied concomitantly reality of large urban centers. We thus emphasize the 70 with productions that evidenced a revolt indirectly about the military regime in the 80s with erotic productions with more clues, in the 90's entry called "90 generation" with socalled computer manuscripts and 2000s with the invasion of the internet. This will present an analysis of three tales of three different decades. Livro de ocorrências of Rubem Fonseca, Venha ver o pôr-do-sol of Lygia Fagundes Telles e Da paz of Marcelino Freire. In these stories we find a writing urban and contemporary, which describe the reality, especially the metropolis, in a shameless, i.e., with a written full of quirks, murder, blood, tears and anguish. We can verify the presence of a different narrator for each story, but with a common feature, a direct view of history. For the theoretical texts were consulted Alfredo Bosi, Antonio Candido, Delcastagné Regina, Nadia Battella, Massaud Moses Teruki Otsuka, among others.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Eunicea de Oliveira Souto Candido.pdf: 603632 bytes, checksum: f0faacf3fc01409030f8f054b9e221b1 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-08-14 / Fundo Mackenzie de Pesquisa / Representing a reality is not simply to report facts or actions, but also to consider how they are narrated. It can be perceived by the narrator´s voice and in other voices that are part of the speech social, cultural and ideological marks which express a world view. From this thought on, this study intends to observe the used strategies of building the sense, in tales by Lygia Fagundes Telles, for the representation of the female figure. In order to do that, we will go through Lygia´s work in a very succinct way trying to identify how she works the woman´s thematic, as well as its work´s own characteristics. Later on we will analyze the following tales Leontina´s confession , Mr Director and the Mass of the Rooster which main characters have a troubled relationship with their own interiority. In the analysis of the tales we will use as a theoretical basis Bakhtin´s idea about dialogism and cronotopo.

Martins, Eunice Barreto Dos Santos 25 May 2011 (has links)
According to its definition as “imaginative fiction”, the genre belongs to thefield of escapist literature since it provides a “re-enchantment” of our world.Highlighted by best-sellers, such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien, fantasy flourished in children’s literature especially with Harry Potter. Our study relieson a significant body of works written by S. Audouin-Mamikonian, P. Bottero,B. Bottet, S. Mari, N. Farmer, C. Paolini, M. Paver and E. Rodda and published in France between 2000 and 2006. After outlining a typology of the subgenres of fantasy by characterizing it in relation to the other types of speculative fiction, the study focuses on the works themselves, especially with regard to the construction of the hero and of the world he lives in with a view to analyzing intertextual phenomena, grasping notably how the narrative scheme of the tale is used to offer the reader some sort of initiation journey through adolescence and, lastly, to showing how youth fantasy in France has become a social and editorial phenomenon through innovative marketing tools

Contrôle génétique et épigénétique des transitions du cycle de vie chez l'algue brune Ectocarpus sp. / Genetic and epigenetic control of life cycle transitions in the brown alga Ectocarpus sp.

Bourdareau, Simon 27 March 2018 (has links)
The brown alga Ectocarpus exhibits a haploid-diploid life cycle with an alternation between two multicellular generations : a haploid gametophyte and a diploid sporophyte. Two mutants exhibit homeotic switching between the sporophyte and gametophyte programs, reiterating the gametophyte program instead of switching to the sporophyte. These mutants, called ouroboros (oro) et samsara (sam), carry mutations into two different genes that code for TALE homeodomain transcription factors. This thesis aimed to characterize these two transcription factors and the chromatin dynamics associated with the alternation of generation in Ectocarpus. This thesis presents the characterisation of the oro and sam mutants and a transcriptomic comparison of the mutants with the sporophyte and gametophyte. DNA-binding preferences of the two transcription factors were evaluated using in vitro methods. ORO and SAM are able to heterodimerise via their respective homeodomains and a yeast two-hybrid screen showed that two C subunits of the Nuclear Factor Y family are able to interacting with ORO. This thesis also presents major advances in the study of chromatin regulation in the brown alga. A chromatin immunoprecipitation protocol was established and used to obtain genome-wide profiles for six histone modifications. Taken together, the data presented here suggests that ORO and SAM may be involved directly in chromatin reprogramming at generation-biased genes via an association with the NF-Y complex. The work presented represents a pioneer analysis of brown algal transcription factors and chromatin reprogramming events involved in the regulation of developmental pathways.

Mirrors, Wolves and Tornadoes-Oh My! An Intertextual Exploration of Guillermo Del Toro's <b><em>Pan's Labyrinth</em><b>

DeCius, Pamela Painter 13 November 2008 (has links)
I argue that Guillermo Del Toro is a modern day storyteller, writing his film script as Ovid, The Grimms, or even Baum would pen their tales. I expand the idea of intertextuality to include not only conversations, thoughts, architecture, emotions, bodily activity, sounds, and innumerable other signifiers, but also analyzing the film "inter-imagically." By considering the film in this way it encourages a world conversation that can influence socio-political transformations in our world. I use the stories and images in myth, fairy tale and children's literature to support the importance of agency, agency in regard to finding your own voice, determining your own path and taking action by making choices that can ultimately result in transformations that are not only personal, but political ramifications in the world. In Echo and Narcissus, I explore issues surrounding the self-realization and loss of agency through Ofelia's refusal to follow someone else's path, allowing others to silence her voice or her potential. Using Little Red Riding Hood, I assert that Ofelia is the modern Little Red, refusing to take the path of her mother, defining her own way. Using The Wizard of Oz, I highlight the labyrinth of choice and the determination to return, restore or transform Ofelia's world. I further proclaim Del Toro is a master storyteller along the lines of Ovid, Grimm and Baum and that through his film, he inspires adults to get back in touch with the childhood disobedience and questioning in order to spark a world conversation that just may transform the world around us.

Sweet tooth

Anderson, Joseph Gregory 31 October 2008
Sweet Tooth is an exploration of childhood culture as it exists in an adult world. I am interested in the power dynamics resulting from the cohabitation of youth and adults, and the manner in which adults impose their knowledge, faith, and morals upon children. Through the watercolour paintings and textile sculptures in Sweet Tooth, I investigate nostalgia, childhood playthings and childrens literature, especially cautionary tales and religious texts for children. These morality tales are a product of Victorian-era theories of youth education and child rearing. While much has changed in the past 100 years, the impact of this era can still be felt, especially in conservative religious cultures such as that which informed my own youth. The childrens stories produced during this particular time use a mixture of scare-tactics and theological themes to convey their message. In Victorian times, there was an apprehension about failing the intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs of children. This was compensated for with well-intentioned, but peculiar, attempts to frighten youngsters into strict obedience. The painting style in my exhibition, and my use of the watercolour medium, recalls the colourful imagery found in Victorian-era books for children. The textiles in my sculptural works relate to treasured childhood toys. My paintings and sculptures reference the human bodies of both children and adults and employ dramatic shifts in scale. Conceptually, the artwork challenges didactic lessons, but, nevertheless, the children in the paintings appear to crave approval from authority figures. The illustrations of bodies in Sweet Tooth defiantly reveal their imperfections and limitations, but also display a playful humour and desire for worldly delights. The conceptual themes of my art stem from sentimental and romantic views of childhood and my desire is to dissect and expose the actual struggles children endured in past generations, and continue to experience today. These themes recall the Christian teachings during my formative years and relate to adult recollections of youthful guilt and punishment.
