Experimental Navigation and the Creative ProcessEngle, Teresa A 01 January 2005 (has links)
For this creative project, I am exploring alternate methods of navigating urban environments, and ways in which this activity can inspire creativity. This process is intended to create a new awareness of the urban landscape, break out of the prescribed, and to inspire innovation. The range of possibilities for this way of navigating is vast, and part of the challenge of my experience has been defining boundaries, assigning variables, and using strategies for exploration making my process inherently morphological. I hope that my work here will encourage others to step out of their comfort zone and experience their environment in a new way.

Terezie od Ježíše: Hrad v nitru / Teresa of Jesus: Interior CastleKutarňová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
Teresa of Jesus: Interior Castle Kateřina Kutarňová Diploma thesis Abstract This thesis seeks to understand the most important text of Teresa of Jesus -'Interior Castle' which is considered one of the most important books of Spanish mysticism. This understanding should be achieved by using both theological and phenomenologico- hermenutical commentaries. The main topics of this thesis are religious and mystical experience, mystical transformation and intersubjectivity. Motivated by the possibility of gaining the understanding of the text as a whole, I firstly try to present the meaning of particular chapters. The Interior Castle leads from incorrect/false understanding (of one's self, reality and God) to the right or true one. This true understanding is made possible by reaching the mystical marriage between God and man based on full and conscious living of their mutual, intersubjective relationship. The reaching of mystical intersubjectivity provides the possibility of transgressing from knowing the reality as it appears to be to knowing the reality as it is. Keywords Teresa of Jesus; Teresa of Avila; Interior Castle; Christianity; Religious Experience; Mystical Experience; Mysticism; Mystical Transformation; Intersubjectivity; Frohlich Mary; Lonergan Bernard; Ahlgren Gillian; Steinbock Anthony

The invisible pictureAragón, Miguel A. 22 August 2012 (has links)
This report outlines the conceptual, procedural and formal descriptions of the artistic development I have acquired over the course of the past three years. The current violent events caused by the War on Drugs in México –my home country- led me to this research. Beginning with the idea of erasure as language, I concentrated on the use of processes that are reductive in nature to create the bodies of work mentioned in this report.
Thousands of people die in drug-related violence every year in México; by using metaphors and visual metonymies to tie together process and subject matter I explore the idea of perception, memory and transformation. I believe my work is derived from a need to find meaning in these brutal events that repositions the corpse in our field of vision, reminding us that our physical existence is finite. / text

____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This dissertation aims at comprehending the changes which took place in the way of thinking in the Hispanic-American context of formation of the national independent states, during the transition from the 18th to the 19th century, when Illuminism ideas reached the colonies, becoming the basis of Mexican priest Servando Teresa de Mier (1763-1827) ideas. For being privileged witness, wandering around places from where reforming forces were strong, like in the United States of America and Europe, and after suffering expatriation for relating political reasons to Guadalupe’s miracle, Mier appears as a typical representation of the criollos, which protagonism associates concepts of the illustrated modernity, with its rational and scientific ideals, to the Colonial Mexico cultural and spiritual background. This work discuss the boundaries of the Illuminist doctrine in the work of Servando, his contribution to the establishment of the Mexican Independent State, as well as to the formation of a national identity making use of the historical categories of memory, identity and representation to explain this phenomenon better. It is concluded that Servando´s ideal is a Hispanic-American exponent of the reformist intellectual trend present in Western history of the period which was analyzed, being essential to the comprehension of the History of Ideas in Hispanic-America. Key words: History of Ideas; Hispanic-America; Illuminism; Independent National State; memory; identity; representation; Servando Teresa de Mier.

Espacio público, espacio privado: vida y diarios íntimos de Teresa Wilms MonttRisso Sepúlveda, Daniela January 2014 (has links)

obras existan socialmente. / The objective of this work is to reflect on the production of three pop works from
the mid-60s created by Peruvian artists Gloria Gómez Sánchez and Teresa
Burga. The pieces that we analyze in this text were made during their participation
as members of the Arte Nuevo group, an artistic avant-garde that was possible
thanks to the industrialization process and the emerging mass culture that was
unfolding in Peru in the 1960s.
The proposal of these artists was one of renewal, because with their technical
innovations the artistic field expanded and opened the way to new possibilities
in the world of art. The implementation of new resources, such as industrial
materials and recycled elements, catalyzed the purpose of bringing to light the
condition of Peruvian women in urban space. Muñecones, Corbata y Objetos
were the first works that addressed gender content, since they emphasized the
representations of female corporality. In this text, we will propose an analysis
route that considers all the determinations of these works of art, from their
material content to their representational meaning. To do this, we will use the
criteria of the Social Theory of Art, specifically, what Néstor García Canclini and
Mirko Lauer propose to point out the determinations that allowed these three
works to exist socially.

Tesis
