Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul / The Master's thesis entitled "The power of the pen: a study on the valuation of Law Degree in political relations of Rio Grande Sul: Pelotas and Alegrete (1850- 1870)", developed in the Research Line "Frontier, Politics and society "of the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Santa Maria - UFSM, which featured Master's scholarship Program Social Demand FAPERGS/CAPES, aims to analyze the situation about the Bachelor valuation process in law and so his knowledge in political discourse and its post-formed features in the second half of the nineteenth century, analyzing more specifically the municipalities of Alegrete and Pelotas in the period between 1850 1870. This historical approach is justified in the sense of the social, political and legal Sul-rio-grandense to be a process of change after Farroupilha Revolution (1835-1845), where the "penalty" replaced the "sword", when it comes to defending their provincial interests, or interests of the elites in relation to the Imperial government. These elites were searching the intellectual capital to maintain or achieve the political capital of the time. In this sense, we seek to understand the insertion of Bachelor of Laws in the bureaucratic sphere in the process of formation and consolidation of the post-independence Brazilian state through an analysis of the organization of the bureaucratic system that is created. Besides presenting some bachelors paths listed for this thesis, in the sense that the legal training to the achievement of political and bureaucratic positions of prominence in the nineteenth century was almost always advantageous. / A dissertação de Mestrado intitulada ―A força da pena: um estudo acerca da valorização do Bacharel em Direito nas relações políticas dos sul-rio-grandenses: Pelotas e Alegrete (1850- 1870)‖, desenvolvida na Linha de Pesquisa ―Fronteira, Política e Sociedade‖ do Programa de Pós-Graduação em História da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria - UFSM, que contou com bolsa de Mestrado do Programa Demanda Social FAPERGS/CAPES, pretendeu analisar a conjuntura acerca do processo de valorização do Bacharel em Direito e assim de seu conhecimento nas articulações políticas e suas funções pós-formados, na segunda metade do século XIX, analisando mais especificamente os municípios de Alegrete e Pelotas nos período entre 1850 1870. Tal recorte histórico justifica-se no sentido do campo social, político e jurídico sul-rio-grandense estar num processo de mudança pós Revolução Farroupilha (1835-1845), onde a ―pena‖ vivia um processo de substituição da ―espada‖, no que tange a defesa dos seus interesses da província, ou interesses privados das elites em relação ao governo Imperial. Estas elites estavam em busca do capital social intelectual para manter ou conseguir o capital social político daquele tempo. Neste sentido, buscamos entender a inserção do Bacharel em Direito na esfera burocrática do processo de formação e consolidação do Estado brasileiro pós-independência através de uma análise da organização do sistema burocrático que se criara. Além de apresentar algumas trajetórias de bacharéis listados para esta dissertação, no sentido que a formação jurídica para o alcance de posições políticas e burocráticas de destaque no século XIX era quase sempre vantajosa.

Previous issue date: 2014-08-14 / O presente estudo tem como tema central os Bacharelados Interdisciplinares, um projeto de reestruturação universitária empreendido pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF) e idealizado no âmbito do Programa de Apoio a Planos de Reestruturação e Expansão das Universidades Federais - REUNI. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as características de implementação desses bacharelados, bem como os resultados iniciais desse programa, propondo ao final, ações a serem encaminhadas aos gestores da UFJF que possam contribuir para a melhoria do programa implementado. Para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa utilizou-se de análise documental sobre o programa e autores que debatem o processo de implementação de políticas públicas, a prática docente no ensino superior e o processo de evasão nas universidades. Foram analisados ainda os dados oficiais do programa referentes ao acesso e à permanência dos alunos nos referidos cursos. Observou-se que, apesar dos resultados serem recentes, merecem atenção por parte da gestão da UFJF. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada através de entrevistas com os gestores da UFJF e aplicação de questionários aos alunos dos BI's. Como resultado observou-se que a UFJF enfrenta alguns entraves ao bom andamento do programa, dentre eles: a resistência dos docentes e alunos, questões de ordem administrativa e as dificuldades inerentes aos alunos do ensino superior em relação ao desempenho e condições financeiras. Com base nesses resultados, foi proposto um plano de intervenção em três etapas, compostas por cinco ações, buscando dirimir as principais questões diagnosticadas. / The present study has as its core topic the Interdisciplinary Bachelor Degrees, a Project of college restructuring undertaken by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and idealized within the scope of the Support Program to Restructuring Plans and Expansion of Federal Universities (REUNI). The goal to this study was to assess the implementation characteristics of such Bachelor Degrees, as well as its initial results, proposing in the end, actions to be forwarded to the UFJF managers who may contribute to improving the implemented program. In order to develop the research we employed documental analysis about the program and authors who debate the process of implementation of public policies, teaching practices in higher education and the process of evasion at universities. We also analyzed official data from the program referring to the access and permanence of students in the mentioned courses. It was observed that, although the results are recent, they deserve attention by the management at UFJF. Field research was conducted by means of interviews with managers at UFJF and a survey with the students of the Interdisciplinary Bachelor Degree. As a result it was observed that UFJF faces a few hurdles to the proper functioning of the program, among which there are: resistance from professors and students, administrative matters and difficulties which are inherent to higher education in terms of academic achievement and financial condition. Based in these results, an intervention plan was proposed in three stages, composed by five actions, aiming to solve the main diagnosed issues.

Previous issue date: 2015-03-28 / This dissertation aims to verify how does the formation of the pianist in the course of Bachelor of Music Qualification in Instrument - Piano, the School of Music and Performing Arts at the Federal University of Goiás (EMAC/UFG), keeping in view the demands of the current job market. For this, some issues that permeate the main theme have been described, including: the contemporary musician labor market, the various Pianist possibilities of action and competencies/skills, the objectives of higher education in music and some specific information about course in question, such as: history of the institution, physical space, Political Pedagogical Project, faculty evaluation to enter the course and graduate's profile. In addition to the literature was carried out field research, with questionnaires and observation of some subjects in order to see how the musical education of these students happens in practice throughout the course. This step included the participation of teachers and students of Bachelor of Music Qualification in Instrument - Piano EMAC/UFG. It was found that the labor market for the pianist is increasingly expanded, since these professionals can come to work in different ways and many different contexts to be in as a performer and/or as a teacher. In addition, it was observed that the course in question is also aware of demand in this market, however some changes in the performance of the student and the teacher will be necessary for the proposal of the Pedagogical Project politico does occur. / Esta dissertação de mestrado tem por objetivo verificar como ocorre a formação do pianista no curso de Bacharelado em Música Habilitação em Instrumento – Piano, da Escola de Música e Artes Cênicas da Universidade Federal de Goiás (EMAC/UFG), tendo em vista as demandas do mercado de trabalho atual. Para isso, alguns assuntos que permeiam o tema principal foram explanados, entre eles: o mercado de trabalho do músico contemporâneo, as diversas possibilidades de atuação do pianista e suas competências/habilidades, os objetivos do ensino superior em música e algumas informações específicas sobre o curso em questão, tais como: história da instituição, espaço físico, Projeto Político Pedagógico, corpo docente, avaliação para ingressar no curso e perfil do egresso. Além do levantamento bibliográfico foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo, com a aplicação de questionários e a observação de algumas disciplinas, com o intuito de verificar como a formação musical destes alunos acontece na prática ao longo do curso. Tal etapa contou com a participação de professores e alunos do curso de Bacharelado em Música Habilitação em Instrumento - Piano da EMAC/UFG. Foi possível constatar que o mercado de trabalho para o pianista está cada vez mais expandido, já que este profissional pode vir a atuar de diversas maneiras e nos mais diversos contextos, seja como performer e/ou como professor. Além disso, observou-se que o curso em questão também está atento a demanda deste mercado, entretanto, algumas mudanças na atuação do aluno e do professor serão necessárias para que a proposta do Projeto Político Pedagógico ocorra de fato.

Previous issue date: 2018-08-01 / - / O trabalho descreve e analisa a evasão escolar no Bacharelado Interdisciplinar em Ciências Humanas da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (BACH), para propor ações educacionais capazes de reduzi-la. São descritos dados sobre as trajetórias dos estudantes ingressantes, no período entre 2010 e 2017, especialmente daqueles que desistiram do curso antes de obter a diplomação, estabelecendo como recorte para a análise a geração 2013. A análise identifica os fatores associados à evasão, em função do perfil dos estudantes do curso, suas trajetórias e percursos formativos, dialogando com o referencial teórico que embasa as discussões sobre o tema. Ao final, são propostas medidas que contribuam com os gestores, especialmente a PróReitoria de Graduação (PROGRAD) e a Coordenação do curso, na construção de um conhecimento institucionalizado sobre esse fenômeno, de forma a auxiliar a sua redução. Foi feito um estudo de caso e de trajetórias, com metodologia qualitativa, estabelecendo como fonte de evidências o levantamento descritivo das trajetórias formativas dos estudantes. A evasão no ensino superior é um fenômeno complexo e multifatorial, que precisa ser investigado em seus fatores de influência. Os dados produzidos nesta pesquisa evidenciam a evasão de uma parte significativa dos estudantes do BACH. Além disso, assume-se, como hipótese, que a sua ocorrência possa estar relacionada a fragilidades presentes no momento da escolha pelo ingresso no curso, assim como à falta de um conhecimento sólido e abrangente, por parte da UFJF, sobre o que motiva os estudantes a evadirem. A partir destas reflexões, é proposto um Plano de Ação Educacional (PAE), formado por três ações. As duas primeiras ações visam atenuar as fragilidades presentes no momento de escolha pelo ingresso no BACH, enquanto a terceira tem como objetivo promover um conhecimento institucional abrangente e aprofundado dos perfis dos estudantes e das motivações para a evasão no curso. / This research describes and analyses the school evasion at the Interdisciplinary Bachelor Degree in Human Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Besides, this study aims to propose educational actions, with the objective to decrease that evasion. Firstly, there are described the data about the students, during the period between 2010 and 2017, especially about the ones who gave up on the course before the degree. For the analysis, it was focused on the 2013 generation. The study identifies the factors related to the evasion, through the students' profiles and academic paths, based on bibliography research. Finally, there are proposed measures to help the managers and the coordination to understand this phenomena, in a way that it is possible to reduce this reality. Therefore, it was made a case study, through qualitative methodology, establishing, as evidence sources, the descriptive study of the students' trajectories. As a result, the data produced during this research show the existence of students evasion at a significant part of this course. Besides, as hypotheses, it is thought that this reality may be related to the course chose and a lack of knowledge, by the university, related to the evasion motivations. Furthermore, based on this study, it was proposed an Educational Action Plan, constituted by three actions. The two first actions try to diminish the fragilities presented during the course choosing. The third one has the objective of promoting an institutional knowledge about the students profile and their motivations for the course evasion.

Perceptions of Bachelor of Nursing students at a university in the Western Cape about clinical learning opportunities and competence regarding the administration of oral medicationMusafiri, John James January 2015 (has links)
Magister Curationis - MCur / Medication errors can result in harm and death, for which nurses are legally liable. The administration of medication by nurses can be improved through education and training to avoid medication errors in future. The study aimed to investigate fourth year Bachelor of Nursing students’ perceptions regarding the clinical learning opportunities and their competence in the administration of oral medication in a general hospital. A quantitative cross-sectional descriptive design was employed. The all-inclusive sample constituted 176 fourth year Bachelor of Nursing students. A total of 125 respondents completed the self- report questionnaires. Descriptive statistics were produced through data processing and univariate and bivariate analysis using of SPSS version 22. The study’s findings show that most of the 125 respondents were placed in a medical (92%, 115) and surgical ward (86.4%, 108). However, a total of 59.2% (74) of the 125 respondents did not practice administration of oral medication on a daily basis. The majority of the respondents perceived themselves as competent in the administration of oral medication. However, only a total of 19.2% (24) of the 125 respondents perceived themselves as competent in all 42 skills required for the correct procedure of administration of oral medication. A negative correlation was found between total self-assessment of competence scores and total clinical placement scores. An observation study, using the check list, of the competence of nursing students in the administration of medication is recommended to exclude bias associated with self-assessment. The use of simulation is recommended to enhance the opportunities and competence of the students in the administration of oral medication to many patients.

Professional Development (PPGE/CE/UFSM) and aims to analyze the impacts
caused by the curriculum restructuring in 2004 CEFD/UFSM, on knowledge teaching
of effective professor who began to act in the courses of Degree and Bachelor
simultaneously. It is justified by the need for research on understanding the impact
caused by Law n. 9.696/98 and Judgement CNE/CES n. 07/04, the theoretical
concepts and practices used by teachers in their pedagogical interventions, resulting
in the division of the Degree and Bachelor courses. To contribute in the discussions
were prepared following specific objectives: a) recognize the significant events that
helped in the construction of teaching knowledge of professor CEFD/UFSM; b)
identify the teaching methods used by teachers CEFD/UFSM in Bachelors and
Degree courses c) understand the problems created by the current context of
formative CEFD/UFSM. The methodology was characterized as a qualitative case
study. Participated in the investigation six (6) teachers representing different
departments are on course (DMTD, DDI, DDC), which have both disciplines in the
Bachelor and Degree as. The information was obtained through structured interviews
and their interpretations are given from the content analysis developed by Bardin
(1978). After exploration of the material we adopted four (4) categories created by
Tardif (2005), were they: 1st) professional knowledge or science; 2nd) curricular
knowledge, 3rd) disciplinary knowledge, and, 4th) experiential learning. The theory is
based on the studies of Nóvoa (1995), Garcia (1999), Tardif (2002), Cunha (2010),
Isaia (2010), Bolzan (2010) among others, to understand the complexities of the
construction of knowledge of teachers who work in higher education. Through the
reflections made, it was found that the impact of the current curriculum of
CEFD/UFSM, focuses on curriculum knowledge of teachers, specifically with respect
to adjustments to the content and teaching methods developed in the classroom
through using examples characterizing their applications in one area or the other. / Este estudo está inserido na Linha de Pesquisa Formação, Saberes e
Desenvolvimento Profissional (PPGE/CE/UFSM) e tem como objetivo analisar os
impactos causados pela reestruturação curricular de 2004 no CEFD/UFSM, sobre os
saberes docentes dos professores efetivos que passaram a atuar nos cursos de
Licenciatura e Bacharelado simultaneamente. Justifica-se a investigação pela
necessidade de compreensão sobre as repercurssões causadas pela Lei n. 9.696/98
e Parecer CNE/CES n. 07/04, nas concepções teóricas e práticas utilizadas pelos

Abstract
This dissertation focuses on the information use in the bachelor’s theses at Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (UASs, polytechnics). The study was carried out as a multiple case study based on qualitative data consisting of a sample of bachelor’s theses and research literature. The approach is oriented towards theory building. The study was motivated by earlier research findings about the complex and discursively controversial nature of the Finnish UASs.
An approach based on structuralist semiotics and a typology of systems was employed to support the qualitative data-driven analyses. The following types were found: (i) structure-driven, (ii) those emphasizing students’ unique situations, and (iii) reflective combinations of the two. Several strategies related to each type were identified.
A model including eight levels was formed proceeding from dichotomies in meaning and issues of agency, to the information use typical of the two main genres, research or practice based thesis, and finally, to the means of manifesting them in textual blocks. The model introduced in the dissertation can be applied in the guidance of thesis processes and in thesis-like project approaches.
Writing a thesis appears as a unique episode. The insitutional processes appear as recurring loops in the life span of the UAS. The guiding of the thesis process is manifested as case-by-case interventions combining unique making and institutional routines. The problems encountered by the actors of the thesis processes form potential targets for interventions.
The results indicate that the present views on the relevant actors related to the thesis process are too narrow, if they only comprise the student, the teacher and the representatives of project partners as recognized actors. The problematic issues in information seeking and use indicate that the personnel of the library should also be included in the actors of thesis processes. / Tiivistelmä
Tutkimus tarkastelee tiedonkäyttöä ammattikorkeakoulun opinnäytetöissä ja esittää mallin tiedonkäytön ilmiöiden konteksteista. Tutkimus on toteutettu teoriaa luovana, aineistolähtöisenä laadullisena monitapaustutkimuksena. Kirjallisuutta luetaan tutkimuksessa yhtenä aineistoryhmänä. Tutkimuksessa käytetään aineistolähtöisen lähestymistavan tukena strukturalistisen semiotiikan klassisesta perinteestä täydennettyä generatiivisen kulun mallia. Opinnäytetyötoiminnan lähtökohtia jäsennetään myös kolmijakona objektivistisiin konemaisiin systeemeihin, yksilöllistä tilannetta painottavaan näkemykseen ja näitä yhdistäviin systeemirakenteisiin. Tutkimusta motivoivat osaltaan tulokset ammattikorkeakoulun kompleksisesta ja diskursiivisesti jännitteisestä luonteesta, joka heijastuu opinnäytetyötoimintaan. Tutkimus on yksittäisistä ammattikorkeakouluista ja niiden yhteenliittymistä riippumaton. Aiempi vastaava tutkimus ammattikorkeakoulun opinnäytetyötoiminnasta on ammattikorkeakoulun henkilökunnan tekemää.
Aineistosta on tunnistettu tiedonkäytön ilmiöitä, jotka on jaoteltu tiukkarajaisia järjestelmiä tavoitteleviin, kunkin opinnäytetyötilanteen ainutkertaisuutta korostaviin sekä informaatiokäytäntöihin liittymisen dynamiikkaa hyödyntäviin. Tiedonkäytön ilmiöitä mallinnetaan 8-tasoisena rakenteena edeten merkityksen läsnä- tai poissaolon dikotomiasta toimijuuteen, tekstilajin tiedonkäytöllisiin ominaisuuksiin ja näiden tuottamiseen tekstijaksoissa. Mallia voidaan soveltaa opinnäytetöiden ohjauksessa ja hanketoiminnassa.
Opinnäytetyön tekeminen ilmenee ainutkertaisena elämäntapahtumana. Teettäminen on ammattikorkeakoululle toistuva rutiini ja tilaajalle ainutkertaista tai rutiinia. Ohjaaminen on tapauskohtaisia interventioita, liittymisiä tekemis- ja teettämistoimintaan. Tiedonkäytön rakenteita ja ongelmia on syytä käsitellä mahdollisina interventiokohteina ammattikorkeakoulun opinnäytetyötoimintaan ja tietokäsityksiin. Tutkimuksessa tunnistetut ongelmat tiedonhankinnassa ja -käytössä osoittavat, että kirjaston henkilökuntakin tulee käsittää opinnäytetyön toimijaksi.

This diploma thesis is focused on a topic selection for bachelor and diploma theses, student's registration for the topics, a registration for state exams and bachelor and diploma theses defense. This thesis includes an analysis of this area and a proposal of an electronic solution. The main goal of this thesis is to build a solution which eliminates a physical appearance of students at school during the registration for the topic of bachelor and diploma theses as well as a registration for state exams and bachelor and diploma theses defense. In connection with this is also valuable to spare the work of the department clerk and secretary connected with the registration agenda. The analysis was realized mostly by UML methodology, the solution includes detailed ERD model and the proposed application screen layouts. The final result of this work is a complete solution proposal that is ready to be used for the application implementation.

Today people spend a lot of time trying to complete software-related assignments. Poorly designed software can waste both time and resources needed to complete a task. It is therefore important to have efficient ways to complete these tasks. The Swedish Defence Research Agency, also known as FOI has developed software to calculate whether simulated units in the terrain have radio contact or not. In the current approach the employees manu-ally writes scenario files which contains information about the contact. However, these sce-nario files quickly become very large and difficult to work with. A possible solution to this issue is creating a scenario editor where the user can use an interface to create information about the contact between the units. This thesis suggests a Military Combat System Scenario Editor (MCSSE) which is compared to writing scenario files manually. The comparison is made by first performing a number of tasks with both applications. The applications thereafter evaluated using a metric called Minimal Actions Performed (MAP) which is defined for this comparison. The thesis also suggests appropriate tasks for evaluating the applications using an iterative method consisting of meetings with an expert with specified questions. By using the MAP metric, the application can be evaluated and the results show that the MCSSE is on average 66% more efficient than the current approach.
