Jack och Allt : En idéanalytisk studie av litteraturkritik / Jack and Allt : An idea analytic study of literary criticism

Holmbom, Ida January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this Master's thesis is to study how generational identities are conveyed in the reception of two debut novels, Jack by Ulf Lundell and Allt by Martina Lowden. Both novels have been considered literary and social expressions of their generations. The empirical material consists of 14 reviews in Swedish daily press from the time of publication of Jack and Allt, respectively. The thesis revolves around the following questions: How is the generational identity defined in terms of lifestyle practices, milieus and other social circumstances? To what extent are structured factors such as gender and class considered? How are the critics considering the reflexive project of the self? I base the theoretical framework on Anthony Giddens' theories about identity creation in the late modern society. Idea analysis is used in the classification and analysis of the textual material. The model of analysis is based on factors that by Giddens are considered to affect the identity process. The result of the analysis shows that the generational identities expressed in the two novels appear very different. In the reviews discussing Jack, the identity is based on destructive lifestyle practices and is closely related to the political environment. In the reviews of Allt the identity is connected to a literary main theme that is constructed in relation to mediated influences. The conclusion suggests an increased understanding of the individual identity as a result of a reflexive process. / Uppsatsnivå: D

"En inställd spelning är en spelning det också..." : Ulf Lundells olika realiteter och identiteter i romanerna Jack, En varg söker sin flock och Värmen

Hermansson, Johnny January 2009 (has links)

Ulf Lundell is one of the most famous songwriters and authors in Sweden. He has written fifteen works of fiction and they’ve all same theme – a lonely man trying to look into his own past life. They are all built on a character, writing from an I-perspective, having a bit of Lundells own biography in there’s personality.

The aim of his thesis is to find out how Ulf Lundell presents him self in his fictive characters, and will trace the authors development from a psychological point of view. The theoretic starting points are Lacans Freudian concepts “idealego”, “egoideal” and “the superego”, describing the psychological alteration at the author.

The examination contains an analysis of Lundells novels Jack, En varg söker sin flock and Värmen, and throws light on the relationship between the author and his characters, and how it developes and changes with Lundells literary development. In this consideration are narrative theories a basic factor.

This work will also try to illustrate what has inspired Lundell in creating his fiction figures, and finally how he creates his own lived life on these literary characters.

VLF and ULF Waves Associated with Magnetospheric Substorms

Collier, Andrew January 2006 (has links)
A magnetospheric substorm is manifested in a variety of phenomena observed both in space and on the ground. Two electromagnetic signatures are the Substorm Chorus Event (SCE) and Pi2 pulsations. The SCE is a Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio phenomenon observed on the ground after the onset of the substorm expansion phase. It consists of a band of VLF chorus with rising upper and lower cutoff frequencies. These emissions are thought to result from Doppler-shifted cyclotron resonance between whistler mode waves and energetic electrons which drift into an observer’s field of view from an injection site around midnight. The ascending frequency of the emission envelope has been attributed to the combined effects of energy dispersion due to gradient and curvature drifts and the modification of the resonance conditions resulting from the radial component of the E × B drift. Two numerical models have been developed which simulate the production of a SCE. One accounts for both radial and azimuthal electron drifts but treats the wave-particle interaction in an approximate fashion, while the other retains only the azimuthal drift but rigorously calculates both the electron anisotropy and the wave growth rate. Results from the latter model indicate that the injected electron population should have an enhanced high-energy tail in order to produce a realistic SCE. Pi2 are damped Ultra Low Frequency (ULF) pulsations with periods between 40 and 150 s. The impulsive metamorphosis of the nightside inner magnetosphere during the onset of the substorm expansion phase is accompanied by a broad spectrum of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves. Over a limited range of local times around midnight these waves excite field line resonances (FLRs) on field lines connected with the auroral zone. Compressional waves propagate into the inner magnetosphere, where they generate cavity mode resonances. The uniform frequency of Pi2 pulsations at middle and low latitudes is a consequence of these cavity modes. A number of Pi2 events were identified at times when the Cluster constellation was located in the nightside inner magnetosphere. Electric and magnetic field data from Cluster were used to establish the existence of both cavity and field line resonances during these events. The associated Poynting flux indicated negligible radial or field-aligned energy flow but an appreciable azimuthal flux directed away from midnight. / QC 20100920

Spår av en andlig närvaro : tre verk av Hilma af Klint, Monica Sjöö och Ulf Rollof möter en grupp ungdomar

Tell, Marika January 2006 (has links)

Wiberg, Lina January 2010 (has links)
The discussion on whether the aesthetics or the pedagogy of children´s literature is the most important trait of the genre has been going on for quite some time. As children´s literature rose from a will to educate it is argued that pedagogy is forever imbued in the literature that addresses the child as its main reader. Literary scholars voices concern that the discussions about aesthetic expressions are being shunned in favor of that of educational values but does one exclude the other? In this essay I focus on two of Swedens most prominent authors of children´s literature, Lennart Hellsing and Ulf Stark. They are both part of the aesthetics/pedagogy debate, in their fictional works for children as well as with articles and essays on the subject. And even though they have similar standpoints regarding children´s literature their main directives with their own works differ. While Hellsing, an aesthetically oriented author has pedagogy as his foremost objective, Stark vehemently dissociates himself from that point of view thinking that literature for children should aim to be literature for literature´s sake. In this essay I try to find the opposite directives of these two writers in their own stories for children, that is to say pedagogic designs in Stark´s Liten och Stark and aesthetic intentions in Hellsings Krakel Spektakel-boken.

Large Scale ULF Waves and Energetic Particles in the Earth's Magnetosphere

Lee, Eun Ah 06 1900 (has links)
In this thesis we examine the generation mechanisms of Pc 5 ULF waves during geomagnetic storms. Also, we study the interaction between Pc 5 ULF waves and energetic particles in the radiation belts and the observed energetic particle flux modulation by Pc 5 ULF waves is verified using particle simulations. Firstly, we present case studies of Pc 5 pulsations using ground-based magnetometer and satellite data during geomagnetic storm times, specifically we selecting three storm time events which show a brief increase in Dst in the main phase of the storms. By studying these events, we attempt to identify the generation mechanisms responsible for the geomagnetic pulsations. The observed pulsations exhibit the characteristic features of a Field Line Resonance. Our results also show evidence for the penetration of ULF wave power in the Pc 5 band to much lower L-shells than normal, suggesting significant reduction of the local Alfven eigenfrequency continuum as compared to non-storm times. This may have considerable significance for the interaction between ULF waves and MeV electrons in the outer radiation belt during storms. Secondly, based on the hypothesis that Pc 5 ULF waves may play an important role in energetic particle dynamics in the radiation belt and ring current, we investigated the relationship between Pc 5 pulsations and energetic particle flux oscillations. We observed very strong Pc 5 oscillations during the great magnetic storm of March 24, 1991 [Lee et al., 2007] and electron flux simultaneously oscillating with the same frequencies in the time domain. We also characterize two more events and present an examination of the relationship between the electron flux modulation and Pc 5 ULF pulsations. Based on our observations, the modulation of energetic particles might be associated with a drift-resonance interaction, or the advection of an energetic particle density gradient. Finally, we numerically calculate the trajectories and energy change of charged particles under the influence of model ULF wave electric fields. This modeling work is used to help to explain the observations and provides evidence which supports the modulation mechanisms such as advection of a flux gradient and drift resonance.

När grundaren konverterar : En kvalitativ studie om församlingsmedlemmars reaktioner efter Ulf Ekmans konvertering till den katolska kyrkan / When the founder converts : A qualitative study of how Ulf Ekman´s conversion to the Catholic Church affected the members of the congregation

Lindgren, Michaela January 2017 (has links)
Abstract The ninth of March 2014, the founder of Word of Life Ulf Ekman announced that he had decided to convert to the Catholic Church, a church he previously believed was the church of the Devil. This study investigates what consequences his decision had on members of two congregations in southern Sweden that are connected with Word of Life. The research is based on interviews of the congregation´s pastor, youth pastor and four congregation members. Ekman has during all his years as the leader of Word of Life been a respected leader and role model for the members. Furthermore, Ekman was convinced that he was chosen by God to lead this congregation. Previous research have shown that a leader of a congregation has a large influence on the members’ faith, but also that the members have a large influence on the leadership. According to Stroope, the social network and activities within a congregation play a major part of the members’ behavior. The result has been analysed using Weber’s definition of a charismatic leader, and Berger’s plausibility structure. The result shows that Ekman’s decision had consequences for the congregation, consequences that were influenced by the members’ strong belief that the Catholic Church is the big harlot and their view of Ekman as a charismatic leader. A large group of members decided to leave because of Ekman’s decision.

An Evaluation of the Condition and long term Degradation of Photovoltaic Installations using PVcheck / En utvärdering av tillståndet och långtidsdegraderingen hos solcellsinstallationer med hjälp av PVcheck

Enarsson, Ulf January 2022 (has links)
Software for simulating the expected power production of photovoltaic installations is an important tool for monitoring the system condition. The purpose of this paper is to investigate modeling parameters and long term condition of existing up-and-running installations by using the software PVcheck. An evaluation of the software will be made with the intent of providing feedback that can be used to improve its functions. Central results in this paper include the proof of concept that a degradation analysis of photovoltaic installations can be made using PVcheck as well as showing an unexplained seasonal periodicity in results when using the Ineichen/Perez clear sky model in Glava, Sweden.
