No. of bitstreams: 1 Maria Molineiro.pdf: 4810174 bytes, checksum: ca2feac5ce0b557d8f6be5ca4c856917 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-05-18 / This present study aims at understanding the vocational thematic under the perspective of the Analytic Psychology and investigating the specification of the Junguian approach on its theorical dimension and clinical practice concerning Vocational Guidance. It presents a theoretical study along with the principles which give the bases to the understanding of the Analytic Psychology about the vocational concept, including it in the list of the different theoretical perspectives on the subject. The Junguian Psychology understands that the development of the personality implies the free and conscient choice of a personal path, which includes the professional dimension, in harmony with the Self, the wholeness archetype, and the ordenating axle of the conscient and unconscient psyche. This dissertation emphasizes the comprehension of the Junguian Psychology about adolescence as a stage of development, a phase of changes and transformations and a life period when the personal and professional choices begin to be taken and considers it as a step in the individuation process. It studies the issue of vocation in the Ancient Greece, as a reference of the western culture, and debates the issue of adolescence and of vocational choice in contemporary times.

Orlandi, among others, examine the discursive construction of ethos in the writings of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Cistercian monk who was born in the last decade of the 11th century and lived until the mid 12th century. The texts that make up the constitution of the corpus were taken from his sermons, letters and theological treatises. The analysis aims to clarify that awareness of the vocation of Abbot appropriates the subject-enunciator and is reflected in his writings. To do so, shall be considered the historical context of religious Middle Ages, during which the church exercised a strong influence on the formation and culture of medieval man, the scene of expository texts referred to, the place that the subject-enunciator assigns to himself in his speech , he constructs the image of himself in his speech and the construction of the ethos of credibility. As a result of the analysis it was realized that St. Bernard of Clairvaux built the ethos of a subject-enunciator enrolled in a Christian religious context, which sets out from a Christian ideological and discursive formation, in order to persuade her to seek God enunciatee and recognize themselves as sinners in need, creating in their statements the image of a subject-enunciator aware of its responsibility vocational abbot.

These subsidies were identified from the point of view of students and former students of a private school in Santo André, São Paulo, about their experiences upon the art classes they had gone though in their lives. Under the light of theories of Paulo Freire, Elliot W. Eisner, Sam Intrator, Efland, Freedman and Stuhr, Ana Mae Barbosa, John Dewey and other theorists, the students contributions from a Focus Group procedure and open written questionnaires were analyzed bearing in mind a qualitative approach.

Get Legitimate: Achievements Promote Recovery from Addiction via Non-Addict Identity

Crutchfield, Daniel 01 January 2018 (has links)
Abstract Despite decades of research, over 400 million people around the globe suffer from substance abuse and only 10% to 43% maintain abstinence after treatment. Social support, spirituality, self-regulation, and locus of control have all been examined for their efficacy and relationship with successful abstinence outcomes. Conceptually, educational/vocational achievement is believed to contribute to reforming an identity divorced from the previous lifestyle of active addiction. Educational and Vocational achievements as proxies for non-addict identity have only been investigated sporadically. The present study seeks to establish a quantitative link between successful long-term recovery and these types of goal-oriented achievements. A survey was administered to 195 participants in recovery and results showed that those who have achieved an advanced certification, license, or degree since getting clean report almost twice as must clean time as those who did not. Multiple regression revealed that educational/vocational achievement was a significant predictor and the overall model accounted for 49% of the variance in length of abstinence. These findings expose the importance of a neglected component of research in recovery from addiction. Implications include greater emphasis on vocational rehabilitation in recovery and future research should aim to examine and refine this concept further. Keywords: identity, recovery, addiction, substance abuse, vocation, achievement, educational attainment

Urrutia Cocco, Camilo January 2019 (has links)
It’s all about interests exercised to the same urban space. Both heritage and real estate development correspond to study areas that are confronted nowadays, a logical situation if we think about certain heritage groups that preserve their constructions, versus those concerned in searching development opportunities. By applying a regulatory protection to a specific neighborhood, this regulatories lead to a series of restrictions applyed to the production of new urban pieces, an aspect that complicates – and oftently drives away - the spirits of certain developers. Its effects were reflected from the third quarter of 2016, when reviewing a reduction of 58% in investment amounts in the area compared to the same period in 2017; and a notable reduction in permits linked to commercial patents that has relegated residential, office and education ventures. Faced with this behavior, the city council of Santiago proposed not to eliminate this type of actions, but otherwise to regulate the conformation of these inititives, based on the fact that this effort, clearly means a contribution to the historical urban context with which to dialogue. This discussion escalates in a context in which, the demand for living in central areas of Santiago is constinously increasing, but which recognizes from MATTA axis to the south a “territory of speculation”. At first glance we think of a general disincentive, there are both restrictions on continuous building in 18 meters and morphological restrictions in adjacency to historical preservation buildings that generate leaps in the resulting returns. However, this can be recognized as an opportunity to strategically apply the parameters contained in the Historic Conservation Zone - E7 (ZCHE7 in spanish) approved on August 16, 2016 by MINEDUC. The final justification of this thesis aims to demystify the position that indicates that the protection of neighborhoods freezes their real estate development, a premise that finally modeled the hypothesis when looking for opportunities within limited radius. Rethinking new products more acutely for this area becomes an opportunity that provides guidelines that direct the generation of new typologies and morphologies adapted to local neighborhood development.

Kallelse och kön : Schabloner i läsning av Matteusevangeliets berättelser / Vocation and Gender Reinterpreted : Patterns in the Narratives of the Gospel of Matthew

Nahnfeldt, Cecilia January 2006 (has links)

The concept of vocation is central to the Christian tradition and views of life. In the Lutheran tradition vocation is understood as a word describing how man’s view of himself as well as his view of his duties are shaped in relation to God. Although not meant to exclude women, the concept of vocation has been clearly gendered. The references to vocation are manifold, ranging from the realms of individual life choices to life in communities and in the church.

The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of vocation in the perspective of Scriptural Criticism in order to contribute to an understanding of the ambiguous and shifting usage of the term, and to analyse the relationship between vocation and gender, historically and in relation to the Gospel of Matthew, thus also contributing to the construction of a gender aware theology of vocation. In the study Scriptural Criticism, a model for interpretation developed by Cristina Grenholm and Daniel Patte, in which text, theology, and life are combined in mutual and critical interaction, is used as a theoretical frame and interpretative method. Patriarchal and androcentric patterns are fundamental analytical concepts.

The study shows that the pattern of vocation changed during the 19th century from being a patriarchal pattern to an androcentric pattern. These patterns are apprehended as theological interpretations that have come to a stop, and thus applied to new contexts without reinterpretation. In common language the word vocation (or calling) is used as a fixed pattern without reinterpretation, and so mediating a life interpretation that is not renewed in relation either to individual life or to life in social community. By rereading vocation in relation to the narratives of the Gospel of Matthew and contemporary views of men’s and women’s shared life conditions, its fixed patterns can be reevaluated and reinterpreted. The connection between patterns of gender and patterns of vocation can be dissolved, so that vocation as a concept loses its association with the enforced subordination of women.

The study draws attention to the fact that vocation can neither be unequivocally understood as a concept of theology, nor as textually mediated, nor as a life experience. Rather, it is a word that serves as a powerful tool for understanding life, bringing together experiences, narratives, and conceptions of God and the human being. Two patterns of vocation are revealed through the scriptural critical reading of the Gospel of Matthew. These patterns are related to different hierarchical positions, but are not univocally based on gender. The interpreter is underscored to have an important role. The gendered stereotypes of vocation are possible but not necessary to reproduce. In the process of interpretation there are opportunities to reconsider earlier interpreters ways of understanding the relation between vocation and gender. This is a challenging and empowering responsibility.

Wild (Re)turns: Tracking the Epistemological and Ecological Implications of Learning as an Initiatory Journey Toward True Vocation and Soul / Wild Returns: Tracking the Epistemological and Ecological Implications of Learning as an Initiatory Journey Toward True Vocation and Soul

Leighton, Hilary 10 September 2014 (has links)
Many people in Western culture experience systemic separation from an intimacy with the natural world and as a result, suffer a disconnection from their own natures. As an educator, my interest in the epistemological and ecological implications of nature-based, reflective learning as a form of initiation into maturity and calling led me to explore how education might create the conditions for consciously turning around the whole human with potential for turning around the whole world. Drawing from insights and wisdom from depth psychology, ecopsychology, mythology, philosophy, the poetic traditions, literature, spiritual practices, and curriculum studies, and by adopting Jung’s psychology of individuation as a theoretical backbone for this body of work, I sought to fully flesh out and discover how we might reclaim and embody our original human wholeness (our individuated natures), and how education might be a catalyst for this. I have organized this study in such a way as to align with three central themes found universally in all rites of passage and that mirror my own heuristic research journey, namely: the separation, the threshold experience, and the return. In the separation stage, I offer an historical perspective for much of Western culture’s current incongruence with nature. In addition, I provide a critique of how contemporary educational practices with their overt focus on profit-making and careerism further reinforce this dualistic thinking. As a counterbalance, at midpoint of this study, I set forth on my own deep phenomenological threshold-crossing immersions into nature. This research became, in effect, a (re)search of self where surprisingly more of my own calling was revealed to me through the hermeneutics of powerful, wild teachings. At the conclusion, as I (re)turn “from the woods”, my findings are shared (in part) as pedagogical examples of life-enhancing, less codified and embodied practices designed with the whole person—body, mind, and soul—(and earth), in mind that may support students (and teachers) in discovering their particular and deeply fulfilling ways of belonging to and contributing toward a living ecology. A symbolic artifact (a ‘body’ of work) accompanies and completes this work (Figure 3). / Graduate / 0727 / 0525 / 0534 / hilaryjl@telus.net

A case study of the Baptist Educational Corporation of Minas Gerais

It presents the origin, the context, the development and the constitution of the Baptist Educational Corporation of Minas Gerais, as well as, its relationship with the Baptist denominational structure. It also describes the objectives, the importance, the functions and the legality of school chaplaincy along with the role, the educational formation and the ideal profile of a school chaplain. The school chaplaincy (or pastoral) is present in almost all denominational educational institutions, that is, those which are connected to a religion and adopt the faith and life principles of its religious tradition as guidance of their political and pedagogical actions. The goal of school chaplaincy is to minister to students, employees, teachers and families of an educational institution based on the faith principles of the institution, helping them in their emotional, spiritual and moral needs, helping them to overcome their difficulties and daily fights, so as to make the process of total development of the person flow smoothly. The SBME chaplaincy like all others has to face a lot of challenges related to faith confession principles, school internal and external environment, society problems and a series of other problems the contemporary young student has to face which are described in this paper. In order to face and respond to these many challenges and demands, the chaplaincy of the SBME uses a series of strategies and develops several actions. Among the strategies and possibilities of pastoral actions, the project Ethics and Character in the School is accentuated. The project has as its goal to help students, employees and teachers to build character qualities and ethic principles, along the educational process of the school and also to be used in life(AU0 / Este trabalho estuda a capelania escolar desenvolvida no Sistema Batista Mineiro de Educação (STBM), organização formada por seis colégios, uma faculdade, um instituto de idiomas e três projetos socio-educacionais, localizados em Minas Gerais, mantida pela Jutna de Educação da Convenção Batista Mineira, instituição das igrejas batistas de Minas Gerais.

However, in the third millennium s Brazil, the evangelic groups communication does not stand up to the Christian ideal, circumscribing itself to the gospel culture of the society of the spectacle . By means of the theological and historical inquiry of Christian communication, starting with the advent of the printing press, and of the Wesleyan heritage, based on a communicational perspective, together in dialogue with relevant authors for the transition to the twentieth-first century, according to the new technological order that introduced in the global community a virtual reality, our objective is to identify non-negotiable practices for a religious media that incarnates the public vocation of Methodism today.
