Hodnocení produktivity pracovníků skladu / Evaluation of warehouse workers productivityŠtěpánková, Anna January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a new system to measure and evaluate the productivity of warehouse processes in Euromedia books wholesale warehouse. The Warehouse management system (WMS) is implemented in the warehouse, so the company has information about processes within warehouse. However, the system does not have any tool to measure and report the productivity of individual workers and shifts. So the manager of the warehouse does not have enough data for efficient human resource management. The basics of warehousing and the warehousing interrelationships are described in theoretical part of the thesis. The processes within warehouse are firstly described in general and then with direct connection to processes in the warehouse of the company Euromedia. The analytical part is dedicated to detailed analysis of output data from WMS from the time period from February until May 2015.The outcome of this analysis is a suggestion how to assign individual workers to shifts, how to measure the productivity of individual processes and how the productivities of different processes can be compared. At the end of the thesis, there are recommendations how to measure the productivity now and how to proceed in the future to achieve a more precise outcome of the productivity measurement. The proposed measures contribute to better and more efficient human resources management in Euromedias wholesales warehouse.

[pt] Atualmente, a Tecnologia da Informação (TI) tem assumido papel essencial para o alcance da administração eficiente, tanto no nível estratégico como no operacional, oferecendo benefícios para os negócios que incluem redução de custo, aumento da produtividade, qualidade, flexibilidade e inovação. E um dos recursos empregados é a implantação de um Sistema de Gestão de Armazéns, denominado Warehouse Management System (WMS), software que recebe as informações pertinentes ao armazém, gerando respostas para uma melhor movimentação, armazenagem, separação e expedição dos produtos, conforme as necessidades da organização. No entanto, a implantação de um sistema WMS pode ser considerada bem mais do que um projeto de tecnologia, que envolve mudanças estruturais e comportamentais, tornando-se um processo de risco relativamente alto e complexo. Este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar e planejar respostas aos riscos na implantação de um WMS no novo armazém de
uma grande empresa brasileira do setor de cosméticos. Os resultados obtidos comprovaram inúmeras atividades que devem ser gerenciadas em favor do não comprometimento dos objetivos propostos da empresa, embora sabendo que o risco é algo incerto quanto à sua ocorrência. Ainda assim, para os futuros usuários do WMS, compreender a inclusão do gerenciamento de riscos nos seus projetos de implantação irá trazer maior probabilidade de sucesso, pois quanto mais forem conhecidos os riscos e as ações de mitigação, mais confiança e segurança as empresas terão em projetos desta natureza. / [en] Currently, Information Technology (IT) has assumed crucial role for achieving the efficient administration at both the strategic and the operational, providing business benefits that include reducing costs, increasing productivity, quality, flexibility and innovation. And one of the resources used is the implementation of a Warehouse Management System, called Warehouse Management System (WMS) software that receives the relevant information to the warehouse, generating responses for improved handling, storage, picking and shipping of products as the organization s needs. However, the implementation of a WMS system can be considered much more than a technology project that involves structural and behavioral changes, becoming a process of relatively high risk and complex. This study aims to identify and plan responses to the risks of implementing a new WMS in the warehouse of a large company in the cosmetics industry. The results confirmed many activities that must be managed in favor of non-commitment of the proposed objectives of the company, while knowing that the risk is somewhat uncertain as to its occurrence. Still, for future users of the WMS, to understand the inclusion of risk management in their deployment projects will bring greater likelihood of success, because as more becomes known risks and mitigating actions, more confidence and security firms will take into projects of this nature.

Esta dissertação teve por objetivo analisar a influência do sistema de gestão de armazenagem (WMS) nas organizações usuárias estudadas, a partir da pesquisa bibliográfica realizada acerca do tema estabelecido e da análise de conteúdo das informações provenientes das entrevistas semiestruturadas efetuadas num estudo multicasos envolvendo duas empresas desenvolvedoras do software WMS e três organizações usuárias desta ferramenta. Dessa forma, foi possível identificar e analisar os pontos fortes e fracos do sistema, bem como as funcionalidades atualmente oferecidas ao mercado. Após a análise de tais informações, pode-se concluir que os fatores-chave para que ocorra uma implantação bem-sucedida do sistema são: o apoio da alta gerência, a realização prévia de um treinamento do pessoal envolvido na operação, o bom mapeamento e formalização dos processos organizacionais da empresa usuária, assim como a execução de um cadastro assertivo de produtos e endereços. Dentre os benefícios provenientes da adoção do sistema, além daqueles mencionados pela literatura, identificou-se a ocorrência de uma maior satisfação e motivação da equipe operacional, em virtude da mudança para uma rotina de trabalho mais organizada. Por fim, como tendências para o aprimoramento do WMS foi relatado: a integração do sistema com a tecnologia RFID, o desenvolvimento de novos relatórios gerenciais e a vinculação da mobilidade à ferramenta, disponibilizando o seu uso via tablets e smartphones. / This dissertation aimed analyze the warehouse management system (WMS) influence on the studied companies, from the literature research about the established theme and the content analysis of the informations derived from semi-structered interviews performed in a multi case study surrounding two enterprises that develop the WMS software, and three organizations that are users of it. Thereby, was possible identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the system, as well the features currently offered to the market. After the analysis of this informations, it can be conclude that the key factors for the success of the implementation are the top management support, employees previous training, good mapping and formalization of user company\'s process, as the execution of a registration assertive products and addresses. Among the benefits arising the system adoption, besides those mentioned on the literature, was identified the occur of a greater satisfaction and motivation of the operational team, due to the work rotine change to a more organized way. Finally, as the trends of WMS improvement, was related: the integration of the system with the RFID technology, development of betters management reports and the link between the tool the mobility, making its use for tablets and smartphones.

The problem in the warehouses is that the old and conventional methods which are obsolete are combined with very crowded conditions. Hence there is always a quest for newer and better methods. However, merely installing the newer methods does not mean that the system is effective and efficient, there is also necessity of a strong supervisory organization of the system to make the methods more effective and this also requires lot of training and managing the operations.The purpose of this thesis is to give an overview and to briefly present the concept of warehousing. Analysing the present situation in warehouses by examining four of the biggest retail warehouses in Sweden with the help of a questionnaire given to the respective warehouse managers. Comparing the present situation to the theoretical framework in order to get an idea of the strategies deployed by the businesses.The warehouses today are deploying a mixture of both latest strategies and technologies and the traditional methods in order to have a good efficiency in the warehouses.

Examensarbetet är utfört på Lifco Dental, som är ett distributionsföretag i Enköping undervårterminen 2013 och omfattar 30 högskolepoäng. Lifco Dentals huvudsakliga verksamhet ärlagerhantering av tandläkarartiklar och det rör sig om cirka 40 000 artiklar i varierandestorlek.Examensarbetet avser i första hand styrning av lagerhållning och artikelplacering. Andraområden som har bearbetas är ergonomi och personalfrågor. Arbetet kretsar kring följandeforskningsfrågor;1. Enligt vilka principer kan man placera artiklar?2. Hur kan man utforma arbetssättet på lager både kostnadseffektivt och ergonomiskt?3. Hur kan materialflödet effektiviseras?från källor som artiklar, litteratur, internet och direktkontakt med personal har samlats in.Behandling av information har baserats på författarnas tidigare kunskaper och vägledning avhögskolans handledare.Valda vertyg och metod är; Read a Plant, värdeflödeskartläggning, spagettidiagram,Paretodiagram, 5-Varför, benchmarking och intervjuer av personal, säljbolag och tandläkare.Dessa verktyg har hjälpt att analysera nuläget i verksamheten och identifiera slöserier samtförbättringsområden. En del verktyg har varit mer relevant för att kunna besvaraforskningsfrågorna.Bäst artikelplacering torde uppnås med ABC-principen. Undersökning av tre identifieradeergonomiska riskmoment gjordes enligt arbetsmiljöverkets bedömningsmall, vilket påvisadeatt man genom att ha rätt resurser, hjälpmedel och klara direktiv kan undvika skador. Dettakan man åstadkomma bland annat genom visuellt ledningssystem och investering i nyaergonomiska verktyg. Resultatet från värdeflödeskartläggning och paretodiagram tyder påbristande fördelning av resurser och identifierar flaskhalsar i flödet. Lifco Dental’score operation is logistics and inventory management of dental products, a sum total ofapproximately 40,000 articles in various sizes.The thesis is primarily concerned with inventory management and article placement. How can the inventory be managed to be cost efficient and have good ergonomics?3. These tools and methods have aided us in analyzing the current stateof operations and in identifying waste as well as areas of opportunity. Some tools have provenmore relevant than others in producing relevant research answers.Optimal article placement can be achieved with the ABC principle. Studies of threeergonomically problematic operations, utilizing templates provided by Arbetsmiljöverket,showed that correct resources and aids as well as clear directives reduces the risks of injuries.This can be achieved by deploying a visual management system and more ergonomical toolsand aids. Results from the Value Stream Mapping and Pareto diagram suggest deficiencies inthe allocation of resources and identifies bottlenecks in the material flow. Controlledallocation of resources reduces inbalances and enhances control.Based on the analysis the authors have recommended principles for article placement andinventory flow as well as recommendations regarding staff motivation, commitment andergonomics.

I takt med att produktionen har ökat har även lagernivåerna ökat vilket har ökat risken för att fel råvara används till fel produkt. Syftet med examensarbetet är att ta fram ett arbetssätt som minskar risken för att fel råvara används. Studien visar att något måste göras för att säkerställa att rätt råvara används till rätt produkt. Lagernivån och informationskvaliteten är andra problem som identifierats. Nyckelbegreppen för att lösa problemen är ordning och reda, information, framförhållning och utrymme. Förbättringsförslagen har olika karaktär, där vissa förbättringar kan göras omgående med små resurser medan andra tar längre tid och kräver större resurser. De viktigaste förbättringsförslagen handlar om att skapa mer utrymme i lagret, tydligare uppmärkning av virkespaketens innehåll och bättre informationskvalitet. / Södra Interiör has a plant in Kallinge which manufactures flooring and panels of pine. As production has increased, inventory levels has increased. This has increased the risk that wrong raw material is used for the wrong product. The purpose of this study is to develop an approach that reduces the risk that wrong materials are used. The study shows that something must be done that ensure that correct materials are used for the right product. Stock level and information quality are other concerns identified. Key concepts to solve problems are: well organized, information, advanced planning and space. Improvement proposals are different in nature, where some improvements could be made immediately with few resources, while others take more time and require more resources. The main suggestions for improvement is about creating more space in the warehouse, clearly mark up of the timber package contents and better information quality.

Title: Improving the Processes in a WarehouseBackground: For warehouses to perform as efficiently and effectively as possible, helping companies maintain a high service level and react to market changes, continuous improvement is necessary. This is achievable through amongst other methods, the analysis of operations to identify wasteful activities and eliminate them. Purpose: This paper, through a thorough description and understanding of the current outbound processes at Company N, seeks to identify any wasteful activity and what might be causing such wastes. Furthermore the paper shall seek to make recommendations for reducing or eliminating wastes identified. Research Questions: What wastes can be identified in Company N’s outbound processes and why do they occur? What recommendations should be made for reducing wastes at Company N? Method: This research is qualitative in nature carried out using a deductive approach. Primary data was gathered mainly through observation and semi-structured and unstructured interviews with the goal of gaining as deep an understanding of the processes as possible. Secondary data was also gotten from multiple sources within the company. Contemporary tools and techniques like Value Stream Mapping and Gemba (observation at the place of work) were useful in identifying wastes; meanwhile the 5 Why’s questioning technique was used for finding the causes of wastes identified. Benchmarking was also used as a means of sourcing ideas and proven standards of performance. Conclusion: The research identified five main wastes including waiting, travelling, unnecessary motion, defects and processing. The main causes of the wastes include the use of manual verification during processes, limited use of batch picking, the absence of lifting aid and dissatisfaction amongst workers. The report makes recommendations including change of handling equipment and operating procedures to accommodate automatic verification of locations and items, as well as better usage of batch picking. It is also recommended to swap the location of certain articles and introduce marketing analysis to reduce travelling. Finally, recommendations are made for counteracting worker dissatisfaction such as a proposed improvement report, an appraisal system, more cross training and internal personnel development.
