ECOLOGIE DES FORAMINIFERES BENTHIQUES DANS LE PRODELTA DU RHONE DETERMINATION DE BIO-INDICATEURS ENVIRONNEMENTAUX ET RECONSTITUTION HISTORIQUE D'UNE ANTHROPISATION RECENTE

Goineau, Aurélie 14 January 2011 (has links) (PDF)

Merzeau, Louise 15 January 1993 (has links) (PDF)

The role of Jose Nepomuceno in the Philippine society : What language did his silent films speak?

Tofighian, Nadi January 2006 (has links)

This paper examines the role of the pioneer Filipino filmmaker Jose Nepomuceno and his films in the Philippine quest for independence and in the process of nation-building. As all of Nepomuceno's films are lost, most of the information was gathered from old newspaper articles on microfilm in different archives in Manila. Many of these articles were hitherto undiscovered. Nepomuceno made silent films at a time when the influence of the new coloniser, United States, was growing, and the Spanish language was what unified the intellectual opposition. Previous research on Nepomuceno has focused on the Hispanic influences on his filmmaking, as well as his connections to the stage drama. This paper argues that Nepomuceno created a national consciousness by making films showing native lives and environments, adapting important Filipino novels and plays to the screen and covering important political topics and thereby creating public opinion. Many reviews in the newspapers connected his films to nation-building and independence, as the creation of a national consciousness is a cornerstone in the process of building a nation and defining "Filipino". Furthermore, the films of Nepomuceno helped spreading the Tagalog culture and language to other parts of the Philippines, hence making Tagalog the foundation of the national Filipino language.

Recreation of Gävle after the Second Fire

Ljunggren, Lukas January 2007 (has links)

In 1776, the City of Gävle was immersed in a blazing fire, almost the whole city burned down and buildings that managed to survived have either been demolished or replaced by another one. To provide an actual view of Gävle from 1800-century is difficult due to the three different fires. A three-dimensional visualization model presents the entire city between 1776-1815 as it might have appeared. Archival images and information was provided from Länsmusem Gävleborg, Fogden, City library of Gävle and the City Archive. The three-dimensional model of the entire city is presented in a QuickTime movie format for viewing.

Religionshistoriska institutionens arkiv : Det bestående resultatet av bevarandeprocessen / The archive of the department of History of religion : The remaining result of the process of preservation

Aulén, Jeanette January 2012 (has links)
The history of religions in the faculty of arts is descendent from the faculty of theology. The department of history of religion inUppsalagot its first chair in 1948, and the department ceased to exist at 1994 when it devolved to the Faculty of Theology. The archive was incorporated within the archive of the faculty of theology, and contained protocols, directories, essays, and agent arranged remains. About half of the archive consisted of documents which required in-depth assessment. This was where the obvious problems emerged when organizing the records –raising questions about fruitful approach and implications of archival appraisal. The discussion led to insights about the power of archivist in the process, and the crucial meaning of underlying thoughts that govern what information will be available in the archive. The analysis is focusing on what to preserve rather then what to discard, leading to conclusions that advocate awareness of the implications of the process. Documentation of underlying thoughts and consciously made choices facilitates a fruitful process of appraisal.

Yrkesroll i förändring? : A Study of a number of Archivists in Public Authorities and their Experiences of the Implementation of a Process Oriented Archival Description System

Grönroos, Ida January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to examine the archivist's professional role in public authorities and discuss if, and in what way, the profession is effected by the new swedish process oriented archival description system. The study focuses on swedish authorities and does not make any international comparisons with other institutions. Neither does it investigate archivists workingin the private sector, but centers on public institutions. The survey is performed in five swedish public authorities, using interviews and observations. Grounded theory is used as a method initially in the purpose of keeping an open mark towards the object of study. The initial results led on to questions about how well the archivists perceived that communication within the authorities served, and how this in turn prepossessed their work situation and the professional roles in which they found themselves. To answer these questions, theories from the subjects of sociology and social psychology, among other things the idea of sensemaking as it is put by Karl Weick, was used to analyze the material. The result of the analysis shows that the implementation of a new archival system has generated a change in the archivists work tasks. The archivists in the studied authorities did in some cases, out of this new situation, manage to find a professional role in which they felt comfortable, and in some cases not. The difference between these two categories seemed to stem from a difference in the ability to make sense of their situations in their workplaces respectively. In the cases where the archivists ideas of their responsibilities and provinces did not correlatewith their employers a lack of sensemaking occured and led to confusion and conflict. This discrepancy between the archivists and the employer's expectations, the thesis argues, comes from the change in the archival profession that is taking place due to the changes in society at large. The employers' traditional image of an archivist clashes with the archivists new professional role. From this it is suggested that if consent is not reached around the archivists place in the organizations, and in society, much knowledge is at risk of being lost, and much competence going to waste. This thesis is a two years master's thesis in archival science.

Big Gay Library: An Ethnography of the Pride Library at the University of Western Ontario

Cooper, Danielle 06 December 2011 (has links)
Officially founded in 1997, the Pride Library is a pioneering Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ) Canadian information-based organization. Although located within D.B. Weldon Library at the University of Western Ontario, the library maintains a primarily grassroots framework. The Pride Library case study reflects a tradition within LGBTQ communities towards preserving and disseminating information otherwise marginalized by larger society. Operating outside of conventional professional informed and institutionally-dominated models, LGBTQ communities create unique grassroots information organizational contexts. In order to develop a deeper understanding of LGBTQ information organizations, an ethnographic study of the Pride Library was developed. The thesis addresses the library’s use patterns, and approaches to space, materials and labour relations. Findings demonstrate that the Pride Library is not only valued for providing LGBTQ-specific information resources, but also for creating a symbolically significant, socially-oriented and community-based LGBTQ environment.

Bergmark, Victor January 2012 (has links)
This memo discusses and problematizes the work of organizing and cataloging the archive of the Environmental Advisory Council. The archive mainly consists of records concerning meetings which the Environmental Advisory Council has participated in, but also records concerning different tasks of the council and a few records concerning the coun-cil itself. The overriding problem, which is discussed in the final part of this memo, is the lacking knowledge about the creator of the archive and the creation of the archive itself and how this effects the work of ordering and catalog-ing. An attempt is made to evaluate the archive as a source of information to the Environmental Advisory Coun-cil and its work. This is a one year master’s thesis in Archival Science

Bedeutende Planungshilfe für den Bibliotheks- und Archivbau. Der neue DIN-Fachbericht 13

Rabe, Roman 22 December 2009 (has links) (PDF)
