Improving architecture documentation management with object-oriented toolsFlorberg, Jack January 2023 (has links)
Architectural documentation is crucial in the development process, as it helps developers understand the system’s architecture and make informed decisions. However, conventional documentation methods are often timeconsuming and error-prone since most of the work is done manually. This becomes even more ambiguous whendealing with complex systems and when requirements are prone to changing during the development process. This thesis addresses these challenges by exploring the potential benefits of utilizing object-oriented documentation tools and plugins to improve the efficiency of writing and maintaining architectural documentationwhile also making sure that the conveyed information is sufficient and understandable for junior developers. Moreover, it investigates the possibility of generating an easy-to-maintain context view with the use of metadatato display architectural information. The thesis employs both a qualitative case study as well as a rapid application development (RAD) approach. The case study involves interviewing junior developers to find patterns in what junior developers look for inregards to understanding a system’s architecture. Using the RAD approach, a prototype system is developedthat utilizes DollarDoc to treat documentation components as objects by being able to refer to these objectsfrom one file to another. The result shows how architectural documentation can be designed to effectively communicate critical aspects of the system’s architecture to junior developers by providing a clear overview of its components. Thiscontributes to a better understanding of the system’s functionality and purpose, leading to increased productivity and engagement. By using object-oriented documentation tools, the documentation structure becomesmore maintainable, allowing for automatic updates and reliable information.

A experiência do Departamento de Informação e Documentação Artísticas (IDART) em São Paulo: uma revisão crítica / The Experience of the Departamento de Informação e Documentação Artística (IDART) in São Paulo: a critical reviewLeite, Andréa Andira 19 September 2017 (has links)
This dissertation aims to investigate the legacy left by the Departamento de Informação e Documentação Artísticas - IDART (Department of Artistic Information and Documentation) for São Paulo\'s cultural scene. Established in 1975 in the city of São Paulo, it had an important trajectory however marked by its strong institutional instability. We have chosen to focus on the years between 1975 and 1982 when IDART enjoyed a greater political and intellectual autonomy. Even though the Department has been recognized for its Research Center, we intend to show that it was indeed a much more complex institution with a singular organizational structure. In order to achieve this goal, we will first analyze IDART\'s original project, the organizational background that laid the ground for its conceptual matrix, and also the contribution offered by many intellectuals and scholars who were involved in its foundation, especially Maria Eugênia Franco who played a crucial role in this process. We will also further describe the activities of the Research Center (Center for the Documentation and Information on Brazilian Contemporary Art), highlighting how groundbreaking its methods and activities were. Finally, this dissertation aims to shed some light on how much IDART sought to combine the functions of a documentation center with the assignments of a museum institution, especially concerning the collections development, and the dissemination of knowledge through its publications and pedagogical exhibitions. As for the sources used for this work, we have analyzed documents from the organization\'s archives, recently made public, and a comprehensive overview of newspaper articles published about IDART that helped us to fill in some gaps left by the investigation. Our focus was on providing a critical perspective on IDART\'s institutional history during its first years, as well as on its contributions towards cultural policies implemented by the State of São Paulo in the 20th century.

The present study aimed to analyze the general uses of the terms documentation, document and object within the context of the museums field. This context was characterized in two universes: the theoretical, represented by selected bibliography taken from Documentation, Information Science and Museology, and practical, consisting of two standards of museums area. The objectives of working with these two universes were to map, characterize and discuss ideas, approaches and tensions between the worlds of theory and practice, without the intention of getting any unique definition. In order to get those objectives, an exploratory, descriptive, comparative methodology was chosen, that also drew upon elements of historical research. As regards procedures, bibliographic record and use of terminological data collection form for the term documentation were used, and this last one was only to systematize meanings and not to elaborate a unified definition. The comparison between the uses of the terms being studied point out their polysemy and ambiguity and, in the case of term documentation, the idea of its connection with the control of the collections still remains. Results of this study also reinforce this diversity of meanings strongly influences what is done in professional practice. Furthermore, it consolidates different traditions and ways of conceiving documentation and objects-documents in museums - which should be increasingly researched to reinforce ties and review concepts and procedures. Finally, it is worth noting that the purpose of this study was to explore the terminological differences, so inherent to the universe of museums, and raise the issue of how to deal with them and from them.

Previous issue date: 2013-10-14 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The Centro de Pesquisa e Documentação Vergueiro CPV (Vergueiro Research and
Documentation Centre) is well-known for the documentation it has collected during the forty
years since it was founded. This study analyses the historical circumstances that made it
possible for the CPV to accumulate this documental heritage and describes the politics, ideas
and practices of popular documentation and communication followed by the then Centro de
Pastoral Vergueiro (CPV) in the 1970s and 1980s.
The CPV, founded by Dominicans of the Christ the Worker Community in the south of São
Paulo city, always maintained a pluralist political approach, working with trade union
activists, community associations and a wide range of grassroots and official organisations in
the progressive wing of the Brazilian, Latin American and European Catholic church. The
CPV played an important role in the organisation and mobilisation of the social movements
that emerged in this period and in the fight to redemocratise Brazil. It implemented a broad
programme of popular documentation and communication, understood as educational and
political practices linked to the struggles and defence of the working class.
The CPV adopted the workers struggles of its time and organised an extensive programme to
build and strengthen the communication, documentation and recording of the history of social
movements. We chose to conduct a wide-ranging study that describes the CPV s experience,
its social and political composition, its participation in the extensive communication and
documentation networks and its internal practices in developing an innovative experience of
popular documentation. It could be considered to be a model of how to organise a popular
documentation centre and produce and distribute popular dossiers and booklets / O Centro de Pesquisa e Documentação Vergueiro (CPV) é hoje reconhecido pelo patrimônio
progressistas brasileiras, latino-americanas e europeias.

The teen years is a self-construction period : inner character and physical body are transformed. For the teenagers, this metamorphosis modifies their relationship to the world, their body and also their reading choises. In the field of reading, their practices are very different, frequently in competition with others activities. Some teenagers have broken away from the book sensed as a limiting object, despite its presence in the school environment. What kind of relationship exists between the pupils and this object ? What kind of practices and behaviours do they adopt as readers ? In keeping with the biblilogic approach (Otlet, Estivals) of the mediator and that of the anthropological phenomena of behaviours (Lévi-Strauss, Monod), the production of drawings described and analyzed through the indexing language - usually used by the information professionals - is the starting point of this research which undertakes a shift from the portrait of the reader to the reading scene. Whilst bringing significant clues and details alongside interviews, we analysed the collected informative material using an observation and interpretation table that we have specifically developed. This analysis tool constructed from specific lexicon linked with the observed practice is a way to translate the graphic language into words. The drawing, considered as a visual and sensitive method, reveals some practices, postures, attitudes, behaviours, reading rituals and perceptions. Finally, showing active subjects and with our approach supplemented by other investigation methods, drawings seems to be able to reveal a self-consciousness as reader and to act as mediator between the latter and the book.

Mokslinio tiriamojo darbo aprašo modelis ir jo realizacija / The research documentation model and implementationJanušauskas, Jonas, Baltrėnas, Paulius 31 August 2011 (has links)
There are a lot of research document types, and one of them is the master’s degree research document. When the student is doing his master’s degree document, he has to do a lot of research, search for a problem and provide the solution for that problem. Also he has to do an experiment for his thesis. All of the results and how it was achieved has to be written in the research document. Masters research document preparation is one of the more difficult tasks for the students. Like all of the research papers, there are certain specific requirements for each type. Also the structure depends for which semester the document is prepared for. Most of the students find that this is their first experience writing these kinds of documents. The common structure guidelines for the documents are not enough, because the content of the documents are very tightly linked to the student’s thesis, and its parameters: object, area, problem, solution. Because there are a lot of different theses in the information engineering area, it is hard for the students to create the primary research paper structure and content, only relying on the common guidelines given by the lecturers. Our proposed solution – a system, which would suggest a document structure and generate the research document primary version, provide comments, template phrases for specific sections of the document, e.g. writing the conclusion. Also the system will try to speed up the writing process, by providing with additional tools... [to full text]
