The mankind was raised in order to live in fraternal communion. The solidarity doctrine, which is consummated within the incarnation of the son, extends the will and the path of salvation. According to Paul it should have unit within the diversity of the Christian community. Anyone and every culture such as, Jews, Greeks, slaves, freemen, men and, women, can find a place in the Church. (Cf Gl 3,28) shows the contribution of the Catholic Church in forming the Brazilian thoughts, mainly the ones expressed by the firsts painters, sculptors, architects and, educators of Brazil. The Catholic Church also contributed to the fight for a progressive mentality of assimilation of different cultures (inculturation), based on the respect for ethical values, moral and artistic values of each ethnic group. The Catholic Church also tries to indicate that when the moral values of any culture are oriented to the common good, we can find all the elements of humanity necessaries to the deployment of respect and universal brotherhood, or as it was said before, the kingdom of God in the men life / O estudo demonstra, pela relação que estabelece entre teologia e pintura, a contribuição dos povos e suas culturas específicas, no caso a brasileira, para a construção do Reino de Deus entre nós.

Becoming By Believing: One Fraternity And Sorority Life Professional’s Journey In Finding Her Voice

Monteaux De Freitas, Kimberlee 01 January 2018 (has links)
While fraternity and sorority life continues to make headlines and is called upon regularly to validate the purpose it holds to remain on college campuses today, many still believe that when fraternity and sorority are done right, it is one of the best opportunities on college campuses today outside of the classroom. Much of their success is due to the efforts and support of the fraternity and sorority life professionals. This dissertation will offer the first Scholarly Personal Narrative of a mid-level, seasoned, fraternity and sorority life professional working in higher education. Current research shows the average age of a fraternity and sorority life professional is twenty-seven and over half the professionals have been at their place of employment for two years or less. I will explore my own personal journey over the last twelve years with hopes of finding meaning in this uncommon career path and explore where resilience and passion resulted in professional longevity.

Love in sociological thought : a conceptual genealogy

Kao, Kuo-Kuei January 2008 (has links)
This thesis conducts a conceptual genealogy of love in sociological thought. It traces the passage of a positive logic of love: a disappearing logic conceived in Goethe's art, cultivated from the social science of Comte and Marx to classical non/Marxist sociology, and finally extinguished by late/modern reflexive sociology. Recovering the lineage of Comte, Durkheim and Parsons, it defends an economic politics of love in the positivist tradition against the political culture of classical sociology and the bio-politics of current sociology. After the demise of Marxist political economy, it examines a new order of love transversal to the socialist and capitalist organizations. The tripartite thesis argues that the sociological tradition has been tarrying with a social order of love evolved from Goethe's ethic of death and renunciation. This order expresses a disorganizing phenomenology of fate as the modern world traverses from the fated causes. to fatal consequences of love. In the causal loop, the fated-fatal order of love encounters the act, freedom and risk in a multiple unfolding of reality with minimal difference. Part I explores how a religious-political belief of fetishism practiced by Comte and Marx comes across its fate in the historical act. Part 11 explicates why a cultural-political calling for fraternity theorized by classical non/Marxist sociologists runs up against its fate in sexual freedom. Part Ill reveals that a bio-political interest in reflexivity methodized by late/modern sociologists tumbles upon its fate in social risk. In conclusion, however, the thesis suggests that an event of posthumous life after the liberation of humanity continues to occur in a state of emergency because the passion for fate escalating from social science to sociology is driven by an unrequited love of Humanity.

Salvador

Matos, Ana Paula de. January 2010 (has links)
The present study aims to contrast the Church Social Doctrine presence in assistance action, undertaken by CNBB, through the Fraternity Campaigns from the years 1986, 2002 and 2007, dealing specifically with the land‟s issue. We chose the land‟s theme because we observed that the private property issue is the beginning and the end of the doctrine question, whose design shape today's society such as that expressed need for the creation of the divine plan on Earth, through actions would lead to building a society that, would take the concern for the comfort. The documents that underlie our research are beyond the basic texts and documentation relating to Campaigns, the papal encyclicals and diverse bibliography that conveys the main Catholic Social Doctrine points, and authors who, somehow, have discussed issues raised by the doctrine / Mestre

This dissertation seeks to examine the relationship between Emmanuel Levinas’s early work on fraternity, especially Totality and Infinity, and his later work on Human Rights in order to investigate the possibility of a non-liberal foundation for Human Rights in the contemporary world. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to develop the way in which Levinas’s work on the ethical relation to the Other serves as the foundation of his concept of Human Rights and anchors the political relation to the third party. The concept of fraternity, as a universal non-indifference to the Other, implies the content of the ethical relation which goes beyond ethics and reaches into traditionally political categories of philosophical thought. As such, by reading Levinas’s concept of Human Rights in relation to this early concept of fraternity, which takes its political form through the third party, his account of rights as the rights of the other stands in clear opposition to a liberal understanding of his work and describes a non-liberal account of human rights in the contemporary world.

Les figures féminines dans l'oeuvre fictionnelle de Jean-Paul Sartre / The female figures in Jean-Paul Sartre’s fictional work

Oh, Eun Ha 01 December 2010 (has links)
The female figures in Jean-Paul Sartre’s fictional work can be seen as standing at a crossroads where all the forms of ambivalence in his work intersect, and thus illuminate his viewpoints in the context of social history. Sartre often uses his female figures to condemn the inauthenticity of marginal persons by showing the forms of ‘feminine’ alienation, represented by such expressions as ‘be sequestered,’ ‘become the object of the gaze’ and ‘play affected comedy.’ However, this mode of existence of femininity is summoned for social hierarchy rather than sexual difference. In spite of the provocative transgression of the border between the two sexes, the idea related to femininity and masculinity remains intact: it seems to be a strategy in collusion with his readers. Nevertheless, at a symbolic level, the metaphorical expressions related to ‘viscosity’ link the feminine to proliferating nature, thus connecting with traditional dualism. In front of the ‘feminine’ that offers an opportunity to confront otherness, fear and fascination always intertwine: in the desire to escape otherness is hidden a dream of symbiosis with it. This symbiosis takes the form of ‘incestuous fraternity’; its failure gives birth to an intense craving for women - like that for a mother. In the end, for the author, the woman becomes ‘neither one nor the other.’ Faced with ‘the Other-woman,’ the Sartrian man runs away, but also refuse to completely rule her out of his life: this constant shift is characteristic of the representation of female figures in Sartre’s work.

L'évolution de la conception de la famille dans l'œuvre camusienne / The evolution of the conception of family in Albert Camus’s work

Boudaa, Louiza 17 December 2015 (has links)
The notion of family is highly central to Camus’s work. The axial nature of this concept is an impetus to begin this thesis which aims at examining the expanse of this concept on Camus’s thinking. This major theme is supported by other ones as brotherhood, solidarity and above all humanity. We have chosen to divide it on four parts of analysis:The first part deals with natural descent. It is more about the impact of family characters on Camus’s work than on the autobiographical side; dealt throughout the three adopted cycles Absurdism, revolt, and at last love and reconciliation. The evolution of the son character towards the cycle of revolt in the mid of inevitable ups and downs took part in the emergence of fraternity desire, and this is the major theme in the second part. The study of this trend towards brotherhood has allowed us to uncover a necessary measure in the relationships. This measure recalled in “the eloquent silence” enhance the importance of “la pensée solaire” inherent in the ancestral Mediterranean Sea, and this makes it an object of study in the third part. The paradigms linked to this ancestral Sea are not exclusively specific to one community without another. Their adoption in Camus’s work allowed it to strive towards a larger parenthood; the parenthood of humanity dealt with in the last part. We have concluded by asserting the necessity of imagining the “first man” happy. The incompletion of Le Premier homme should not blur the evolution of the family conception to a human relationship, highlighted in the myth of autochthony.
