The electronic journals correspond publishing channels and dissemination of scientific information. Through them, users can spread their studies as well as developing new researches. One of the systems used for creation and e-journals management is the Electronic System for Journal Publishing (SEER), used in the construction of periodic portals, as well as the creation of magazines in isolation. In this purport, it is believed that the management systems and creation of e-journals should be developed (internally and externally) according to the needs of its users. In the case of internal development, some of these processes refer to the copyright registration and submission of articles, which, in turn, are relevant tasks in the editorial process. Thus, the proposed study, thematic Usability of scientific journals, aims to analyze the usability of the copyright registration process and submission of articles in the Electronic System for Journal Publishing through BiblioCanto magazine, part of the Electronic Journals Portal of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). For the realization of the research, two valuation techniques were used: the Usability Test with a total of twenty participants and the Cooperative Evaluation, with the same number of participants separated in four categories considered target audience of that magazine, namely: undergraduate students, graduate students, teachers and librarians. The results indicated that the two analyzed processes (copyright registration and submission of articles) need improvement. In the case of the registration process, the following needs are: signalizing of the conducting registration ambient; description and exclusion of requested information on the registration form. In the process of article submission, it is emphasized improvement of aspects: the early steps to submission, signaling of required fields, concise description of the steps, minimization and review of the steps. To this end, it is believed that in general idea the SEER partially meets the needs of its users regarding the usability of such software.

Anatomia venosa no fígado cirrótico com vistas à derivação porto-sistêmica intra-hepática transjugular

Vasconcelos Filho, José Olímpio Maia de January 2016 (has links)
Introduction - The treatment of portal hypertension remains a challenge and many of these patients need liver transplantation as definitive treatment. In this context the Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) has emerged as an attractive alternative to this complication of chronic liver disease, especially for not requiring laparotomy and effectively reducing the portal pressure. Knowing the distance between the hepatic veins and portal branches and other anatomical data in the cirrhotic liver, they are important requirements in the planning and execution of this procedure. Purpose: To determine spatial arrangements and diameters of right and middle hepatic veins relative to portal vein branches in cirrhotic human livers, gaining strategic insight to percutaneous procedures as transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt. (TIPS). Materials and Methods: This study was authorized by an area Research Ethics Committee, and each study subject or legal representative granted signed informed consent. Acrylic corrosion casts of 21 resected cirrhotic livers were generated. Diameters of hepatic veins and portal branches and pertinent intervening distances were measured. To assess differences in estimated average (relative to reference values), Student's t-test for one sample was applied. Results: Mean distances from right hepatic vein to right portal branch and to portal vein bifurcation were 33±6.4 mm and 36±7.4 mm, respectively, both significantly shorter than published reference values in healthy human livers (p<0.0001 and p<0.0002, respectively). Mean distances from middle hepatic vein to right and left branches of portal vein were 36±6.8 mm and 26±8.8 mm, respectively. Conclusion: Distances separating right hepatic vein and portal vein (right branch and bifurcation) are diminished in cirrhotic livers compared to healthy ones. The middle hepatic vein is confirmed as a suitable alternative route.

RADIAČNÍ OCHRANA PACIENTŮ PŘI UŽITÍ SVAZKU S MODULOVANOU INTENZITOU (ImRT) {--} DOZIMETRICKÉ OVĚŘOVÁNÍ PLÁNŮ. / RADIATION PROTECTION OF PATIENT WITH USING INTENSITY MODULATED RADIOTHERAPY (ImRT) {--} DOSIMETRIC VERIFICATION OF TREATMENT PLAN.

KLEČKOVÁ, Naděžda January 2008 (has links)
Nowadays more and more radiotherapy departments use intensity modulated beams for treatment of patients. Intensity modulated radiotherapy (ImRT) is able to modificate intensity of radiation across the iradiated field. In this way it is posible to achieve better dose conformity than in conventional radiotherapy. Implementation of ImRT allows us to escalate dose to target volume with same side effects of organs at risk as in conventional radiotherapy or to reduce normal tissue complication - decrease dose to organ at risk with the same tumour dose. This fact reguires extension of our guality system to all network of delivery dose to patients, inclusive linear accelerator with multileaf collimator, treatment planning system, electronic portal imaging device and so on. Quality assurance is guaranteed both periodical user tests and independent verification of The State Office for Nuclear Safety. The aim of this work is finding the optimal and effective way for the verification treatment plans, determining criteria for evaluation measured results, proposing summary all aspects of radiation protection patients which are treate ionisation beams with intensity modulated radiotherapy. The optimization one of the principles of radiation protection will be provided by routin verification treatment plans.

Designing a user interface for web based project managment in film production.

Sundström, Sofia, Thelander, Elinor January 2004 (has links)
The aim of this thesis project is to create a user interface for a web based film production project management portal. This implies creating a site map and a functionality specification based on the needs of the people working in the film production industry. The project was made on account of The Chimney Pot, a post production company in Stockholm. For the scope of this project, the research was concentrated on the part of film production that concerns The Chimney Pot, i.e. the procedures that take place after a film has been recorded. The research also focused on people working in the area of Stockholm, even if their clients and customers in other areas of Sweden and abroad were indirectly included in order for the project portal to be a usable tool in projects where these people are involved. Before any visible results can be seen in a web production project, a range of preparation steps needs to be taken. Planning is essential if the final product shall work properly. Extensive research has to be done into the industry. In order to make the product usable, the intended users, their requirements, work procedures and environment need to be examined. Only when there are substantial results and enough knowledge about the industry, the actual implementation can start. The first step is to make a functionality specification, next a site map should be produced and the technical architecture should be specified. These are the areas that are covered in this project, but there are also recommendations about how the further development should be made. Important aspects in the next phase are to create a budget, to put together a development team and to create a graphic user interface. In the whole process the issues of usability need to be considered, i.e. efficiency, flexibility, learnability and satisfaction. The key requirements for the project portal turned out to be speed and effectiveness. The user interface was designed to be intuitive and to be shallow, which means that the user should be able to perform any task with the least amount of mouse clicks possible. Another intention with the produced user interface is for it to be clearly divided into the four main areas that could be extracted from the user requirements. They are planning, project details, communication and file sharing. Directly after logging on to the project portal, the user should get an overview of all these areas. Other important considerations were security, version control and seamlessness. These issues demand a thorough planning of the technical architecture and this thesis provides some useful tips for the further development of the technical specification.

Karlsson, Jenny January 2009 (has links)

Mierke, Franz 15 December 2017 (has links) (PDF)
I+] vs. 16,1 Monate [P+I-] vs. 20,1 Monate [P-I-]; p=0,01). Die Inzidenz an Fernmetastasen war in der P+I+- Gruppe signifikant erhöht (75% [P+I+] vs. 45,8% [P+I-] vs. 54,7% [P-I-], p=0,01). Das mediane progressionsfreie Überleben war für Patienten der P+I+-Gruppe signifikant verkürzt (7,4 Monate [P+I+] vs. 10,9 Monate [P+I-] vs. 11,6 Monate [P-I-]; p=0,02). / Background. The present study aims to evaluate the longterm outcome and metastatatic pattern of patients who underwent an operation for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) with portal or superior mesenteric vein (PV/SMV) resection. Methods. Patients who underwent a pylorus preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy (PPPD), Whipple procedure (kPD) or total pancreatoduodenectomy (TP) between 2005 and 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were categorized in three subgroups. Those whom received a vein resection with pathohistological tumor invasion of the PV/SMV (P+I+) those at whom underwent vein resection but without pathohistological tumor invasion (P+I-) and lastly a third group (P-I-) matched to the P+I+ included patients without vein resection. Statistical analysis was performed using the R software package. The significance level for all calculations was set at α = 0.05. Results. The study cohort included 179 patients, 113 of whom underwent simultaneous PV/SMV resection. 36 patients (31,9%) had pathohistological tumor infiltration (P+I+), 77 (68,1%) did not (P+I-). 66 patients without vein resection (P-I-) were balanced by the P+I+ group. Most of pathohistological tumor characteristics were comparable between groups. 17 patients (9.5%) received neoadjuvant therapy, 16 of them were in vein resection group (P+). The study revealed differences in overall median survival (11.9 months [P+I+] vs. 16.1 months [P+I-] vs. 20.1 months [P-I-]; p=0.01). Univariate survival analysis shown negative consequences for CA19-9, resection margin (R), status of nodal metastasis (N), lymph node ratio (LNR), microvascular vein invasion (V) and true invasion of the PV/SMV. Multivariate survival analysis identified true invasion of the PV/SMV as the only significant, negative prognostic factor (p= 0.01). Whereas the incidence of local tumor recurrence was comparable (p=0.96), the proportion of patients with distant metastasis showed significant differences (75% [P+I+] vs. 45.8% [P+I-] vs 54.7% [P-I-]; p=0.01). The median time to progression were significantly shorter if the PV/SMV was infiltrated (7,4 months [P+I+] vs. 10,9 months [P+I-] vs. 11,6 months [P-I-]; p=0.02). Univariate progression analysis revealed significances for true invasion of the PV/SMV, microvascular vein invasion (V), CA19-9 and histologic classification (G). Multivariate progression analysis detected pathohistological invasion of the PV/SMV and histologic classification (G) as independent factors. Initial liver metastasis occurred in 25% of the patients. Conclusions. Pathohistological invasion of the PV/SMV is an independent risk factor for overall and progression free survival. Patients of P+I+-group had a higher incidence of distant metastasis, local progression is comparable. Even radical and complete resection cannot completely compensate for aggressive tumor biology and advanced disease.

Serste, Thomas 12 June 2012 (has links)
Cirrhosis is characterized by the progressive development of portal hypertension. Portal hypertension, associated with sodium retention, leads to the formation of ascites. Ascites may be difficult to treat and, thereby, become "refractory". To date, the mortality of patients with refractory ascites remains high. In order to offer patients adequate treatment, it is important to identify complications that may develop and the factors of good and poor prognosis affecting their survival. One can retain five specific complications of cirrhosis with ascites: hepatorenal syndrome, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, paracentesis induced circulatory dysfunction, hepatic hydrothorax and dilutional hyponatremia. This thesis reported an update of pathogenesis, complications and treatment of refractory ascites. Our original clinical research has, meanwhile, focused on the identification of different prognostic factors in refractory ascites in direct relation to these five complications. We have focused on the effect of the administration of beta blockers in patients with refractory ascites: this treatment is widely prescribed for prevention of gastrointestinal bleeding. It is associated in these patients with higher mortality and a high incidence of paracentesis induced circulatory dysfunction. We specified that the severe hyponatremia, leading to withhold diuretic therapy, is a more accurate prognostic factor than the MELDNa score in refractory ascites. With regard to the hepatorenal syndrome of slow onset (type 2), we emphasized the high frequency of this syndrome in refractory ascites. We showed that there was an association between the level of portal hypertension and the incidence of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the presence of bacterial DNA in ascites of outpatients suffering from refractory ascites was particularly low. The detection of this DNA is not a precursor to infection of ascites. In conclusion, with a systematic analysis of various prognostic factors related to complications of ascites in cirrhotic patients, this work gives a better understanding of their chances of survival. This will allow a more adequate stratification in the decision trees for a cure of the disease such as liver transplantation. / Doctorat en Sciences médicales / info:eu-repo/semantics/nonPublished

Možnosti řešení oblasti ŘLZ v IS organizace / Possible solutions in the domain of the "Human resources management" in the information system of an organization

Kousal, Ondřej January 2008 (has links)
My study focuses on methods of the human resources management in an information company. Human resources management and personal information systems present nowadays a very important aspect not only in terms of a management but also in terms of long-term company strategies. Proper human resources management and information system functioning provide an organization with a priceless competitive advantage in the form of effective usage of human resources. At first, human resources management is examined from the theoretic point of view and after that these theoretical needs are set against possibilities of a usage of personal information systems. Consequently, different functions of personal information systems and their supply on the Czech market are analyzed. In the separate chapter I bring in a practical example which summarizes the present state of human resources management and personal information systems in the Tyllco s.r.o. company and which also comprises my recommendation for an improvement.
