[pt] O artigo estuda o problema de um regulador social que deseja induzir um monopolista natural a implementar um projeto de forma socialmente eficiente. O projeto tem longa duração e os custos do projeto variam de período a período de acordo com um processo estocástico. Adicionalmente, estuda-se a decisão de investimento do monopolista em tecnologia para se reduzir os custos deste projeto e como esta decisão está ligada ao contrato de produção oferecido pelo regulador. Mostra-se a forma que o contrato ótimo de regulação assume sob estas condições e como as distorções envolvidas no contrato são tão maiores quanto maiores forem as informações que a firma possui acerca de seus custos futuros. Mostra-se também que as distorções são tão maiores quanto maior for o investimento da firma em tecnologia e que por sua vez esse investimento caminha oposto aos custos sociais líquidos da tributação. / [en] The paper studies the problem of a social regulator that wants to induce a natural monopolist to implement a project in a socially efficient way. The project has a long duration and project costs vary from period to period according to a stochastic process. Additionally, we study the investment decision of the monopolist in technology to reduce the cost of this project and how this decision is linked to the production contract offered by the regulator. We show the optimal contract that arises under these conditions and how the distortions involved in the contract are greater the higher the information that the firm has about its future costs. We also show that the distortions are greater the higher the firm’s investment in technology and in turn that investment goes to the opposite net social cost of taxation.

[pt] Este trabalho estuda o problema de um regulador que enfrenta um monopolista sem observar seus custos. Diferente de estudos anteriores, deixamos o pressuposto forte de que o regulador conhece a verdadeira distribuição de probabilidade de custos do monopolista. Em vez disso, vamos supor que o regulador tém uma distribuição prior e sua incerteza é representada pelo conjunto de distribuições mean preserving spread da sua prior. Regulador é avesso a incerteza, ou seja, ele maximiza o bem-estar social esperado sob a pior distribuição neste conjunto. Regulação ótima depende do estado da natureza e garante que o bem-estar social esperado não é afetado pela incerteza do regulador. Regulador não pode dar incentivos tão forte como os dados quando a distribuição é conhecida, o que significa que a robustez reduz o poder dos contratos. / [en] This work studies the problem of a regulator who faces a monopolist with unknown costs. Different to previous studies, we depart from the strong assumption that regulator knows the true probability distribution of monopolist costs. Instead, we assume that regulator holds a prior distribution and his uncertainty is represented by the set of mean preserving spread distributions of this prior. Regulator is uncertainty averse, i.e., he maximizes expected social welfare under the worst distribution in this set. Optimal regulation is state dependent and guarantees that expected social welfare is not affected by regulator uncertainty. Regulator can not give such strong incentive as those given when distribution is known, which means that concern for robustness reduces the power of contracts.

[pt] Nesta pesquisa, apresentam-se restrições de participação ex-post num cenário em que, repetidamente, dois agentes têm de tomar uma ação conjunta, não podem recorrer a pagamentos laterais, e em cada período recebem privadamente informação sobre as suas preferências. Derivam-se uma série de resultados. Primeiro, mostra-se que independentemente de quão pacientes sejam os agentes, qualquer mecanismo satisfazendo restrições de participação ex-post fornece resultados distantes da eficiência. Em segundo lugar, para um agente cuja opção de fora se tornou tentadora, o mecanismo ótimo (i) fornece, comparado com o mecanismo de participação forçada, menos peso sobre as ações atuais e, de modo a permitir que os agentes continuem o intercâmbio de direitos de decisão no futuro, (ii) sempre promete-se valores de continuação que sejam superiores ao valor da sua opção de fora. Finalmente, derivam-se propriedades da dinâmica do poder barganhar, e prova-se que esta leva a uma distribuição de poder limite que é única. Esta distribuição é não degenerada, sem memória e tal que o poder de barganha muda continuamente entre os agentes no limite; o que significa que o peso que os agentes têm nas decisões necessariamente varia de período para período. / [en] We introduce ex-post participation constraints in a setting in which, repeatedly, two agents have to take a joint action, cannot resort to side payments, and each period are privately informed about their favorite actions. We derive a number of results. First, we show that, irrespective of how patient the agents are, any mechanism satisfying ex-post participation constraints delivers outcomes that are bounded away from efficiency. Second, for an agent whose outside option became tempting, the optimal mechanism (i) gives, relatively to a forced participation setting, less weight on current actions and, so to allow the agents to continue to trading decision rights in the future, (ii) always promises continuation values that are higher than the value of his outside option. Finally, we derive properties of the dynamics of relative bargain power, and prove that it leads to a unique limiting distribution of power. This limiting distribution is non-degenerate, memoryless and such that power continually changes hands in the limit, meaning that the weight agents have on decisions necessarily varies from period to period.

[pt] Este estudo propõe uma reflexão acerca das relações entre o corpo e a escrita na coreografia contemporânea a partir dos desdobramentos críticos sugeridos pela obra do artista espanhol Juan Domínguez. Os trabalhos intitulados Todos os bons espiões têm minha idade (2003) e The Application (2005) servem de ignição para esquadrinhar e problematizar esta equação, procurando exprimir a densidade desta questão. O primeiro capítulo examina distintos registros atrelados à prática coreográfica – desenhos, instruções, partituras, notações, e outros rascunhos afins –, assinalando a potência poética deste corpus para além da sua inerente função mnemônica e catalisadora, e expõe o debate crítico sobre a palavra escrita nas práticas artísticas contemporâneas. O segundo capítulo discute as relações entre as práticas coreográficas e a escrita pessoal – concebida, neste contexto, como um repertório que compreende as notas autobiográficas, as cartas, os diários, e outras narrativas análogas – examinando como a experiência cotidiana e a criação artística se afetam reciprocamente. O terceiro capítulo avalia algumas das abordagens do corpo verificadas no âmbito da dança, das ciências e da filosofia recente, evidenciando a emergência de uma perspectiva capaz de apreender o caráter intensivo do corpo e de pensar a escrita como uma prática sensível. / [en] This study proposes a reflection on the relations between body and writing in contemporary choreography from the critical developments suggested by the work of Spanish artist Juan Domínguez. The pieces All good spies are my age (2003) and The Application (2005) provide a spark to probe and question this equation, in order to express the density of this issue. The first chapter examines different records tied to the chorographical practice – drawings, instructions, scores, notations, and other related outlines – stressing the power of this poetic corpus besides their catalyst and mnemonic innate functions, and outlines the critical debate about the written word in contemporary art. The second chapter discusses the relation between chorographical practices and personal writing – conceived, in this context, as a set that includes diaries, autobiographical notes, letters, and other related narratives – scrutinizing how the everyday experience and artistic creation are mutually affected. The third chapter reviews some of the available approaches of the body within dance field, sciences, and recent philosophy, highlighting the emergence of a perspective able to grasp the intensive nature of the body and to consider writing as a sensitive practice.

[pt] Nesta dissertação investigamos as noções de corpo, desenho e moda articuladas à produção de subjetividade no campo do design, por meio de métodos e práticas do desenho, em especial aqueles de criação em moda. Partimos de uma revisão bibliográfica e imagética para levantar e analisar conceitos relativos aos temas e ampliamos as definições contidas no objeto de pesquisa. Apresentamos o desenho como ação e como território crescente em métodos e práticas capazes de criar relações e encontros como formas de engajamento dentro do campo do design. Para tanto, recorremos aos trabalhos de Richard Serra, Oskar Schlemmer, Frida Kahlo, Auguste Rodin e Henri Matisse e à leitura de Michel Foucault, David Le Breton, Gilda Mello e Souza, Georg Simmel, entre outros autores, bem como à revisão dos métodos e práticas desenvolvidos na disciplina Criação em Moda entre os anos de 2007 e 2021, no Departamento de Artes e Design da PUC Rio, concluindo que práticas que envolvem o corpo e o pensamento são fundamentais para uma percepção expandida do design. / [en] In this dissertation, we investigate the notions of body, design and fashion articulated to the production of subjectivity in the field of design, through methods and practices of drawing, especially those of creation in fashion. We started with a bibliographic and imagery review to raise and analyze concepts related to the themes and expand the definitions contained in the research object. We present drawing as an action and as a growing territory in methods and practices capable of creating relationships and encounters as forms of engagement within the field of design. In order to do so, we use the works of Richard Serra, Oskar Schlemmer, Frida Kahlo, Auguste Rodin and Henri Matisse and the reading of Michel Foucault, David Le Breton, Gilda Mello e Souza, Georg Simmel, among other authors, as well as the review of the methods and practices developed in the discipline Creation in Fashion between 2007 and 2021, at the Department of Arts and Design, at PUC Rio, concluding that practices that involve the body and thought are fundamental for an expanded perception of design.

[pt] A tese diz respeito à aplicação de conceitos construtivistas no contexto da aprendizagem da disciplina de desenho de moda. O objetivo da pesquisa foi investigar a relevância da aplicação de conceitos construtivistas em experiências para explorar a linguagem de desenho de moda. O desenho representa as informações, códigos e conceitos do mundo da moda. A abordagem construtivista no ensino de técnicas, ferramentas e materiais resulta em desenhos eficientes utilizados no processo de projeto de design para a indústria do vestuário. / [en] The thesis concerns the application of constructivist concepts in the learning context of the discipline of fashion drawing. The aim of the research was to investigate the relevance of applying constructivist concepts in experiences to explore the fashion language drawing. The drawing represents information, codes and concepts of the fashion world. The constructivist approach in the teaching of techniques, tools and materials results in efficient drawings used in the design project process to the clothing industry.

[pt] Durante o estágio inicial do design de uma interface com usuário, diferentes soluções devem ser exploradas e refinadas iterativamente pela equipe de design. Nesse cenário de mudanças rápidas e constantes, uma ferramenta que permita e facilite essas mudanças é de grande valia. UISKEI explora o poder do desenho, possibilitando ao designer transmitir sua ideia com uma forma de expressão mais natural, e adiciona o poder computacional, facilitando a manipulação e edição dos elementos. Mais do que uma ferramenta de desenho de protótipos de interface, UISKEI também permite a definição do comportamento da interface, indo além da navegação entre contêineres de interfaces (por exemplo, janelas, páginas web, capturas de telas) e possibilitando definir mudanças nos estados dos elementos de interface (habilitando e desabilitando-os, por exemplo). Essa dissertação apresenta os conceitos principais por trás do UISKEI e um estudo de como ele se compara a ferramentas similares. A etapa de desenho da interface é detalhada, explicando como a conversão dos traços em widgets é feita através da combinação de um reconhecedor de traços, que usa a distância de Levenshtein como medida de similaridade, e a interpretação dos traços reconhecidos baseada em uma árvore de evoluções. Além disso, também são discutidas as diferentes soluções exploradas para endereçar o problema do desenho da interação, propondo uma visualização inovadora no estilo mind-map que possibilita ao usuário expressar o evento, as condições e ações de cada caso de interação, sem abandonar o paradigma da interação com caneta. / [en] During the early user interface design phase, different solutions should be explored and iteratively refined by the design team. In this rapidly evolving scenario, a tool that enables and facilitates changes is of great value. UISKEI takes the power of sketching, allowing the designer to convey his or her idea in a rough and more natural form of expression, and adds the power of computing, which makes manipulation and editing easier. More than an interface prototype drawing tool, UISKEI also features the definition of the prototype behavior, going beyond navigation between user interface containers (e.g. windows, web pages, screen shots) and allowing to define changes to the state of user interface elements and widgets (enabling/disabling widgets, for example). This dissertation presents the main concepts underlying UISKEI and a study on how it compares to similar tools. The user interface drawing stage is detailed, explaining how the conversion of sketches to widgets is made by combining a sketch recognizer, which uses the Levenshtein distance as a similarity measure, and the interpretation of recognized sketches based on an evolution tree. Furthermore, it discusses the different solutions explored to address the issue of drawing an interaction, suggesting an innovative mind-map-like visualization approach that enables the user to express the event, conditions and actions of each interaction case while still keeping the pen-based interaction paradigm in mind.

[pt] O presente trabalho tem como objetivo facilitar o estudo das cônicas e ainda despertar o interesse do aluno para o desenho geométrico. Será apresentado que as curvas cônicas estão em nosso dia a dia, não só como beleza estética, mas também provocando fenômenos físicos amplamente utilizado pela arquitetura e engenharia civil, como acústica e reflexão da luz. Utilizaremos instrumentos para desenhar curvas que despertem a curiosidade dos alunos e faremos uso das equações e lugares geométricos a fim de demostrar tais recursos. Pretende-se assim que ao adquirir tais conhecimentos o aluno aprimore seu entendimento matemático e amplie seu horizonte cultural. / [en] The present research aims to facilitate the study of the conics and also to arouse the interest of the student for the geometric drawing. The conic curves will be presented not only as they are in our day to day as aesthetic beauty but also as responsible for the physical phenomena widely used by architecture and civil engineering as well as acoustics and reflection of light. We will use instruments to draw curves that arouse the curiosity of the students, making use of the equations and locus in order to demonstrate such resources. It is intended that the student acquire this knowledge, improving his mathematical understanding and broadening his cultural horizon.

[pt] O letramento em língua portuguesa nas séries inciais do ensino fundamental é objeto de reflexão de inúmeros pesquisadores, especialmente pelo lugar basilar que a escrita e a leitura ocupam no processo de escolarização. Contudo, na perspectiva de uma leitura que ultrapassa os limites do texto escrito, estendendo-se à uma leitura do mundo, o letramento em história, simultâneo ao letramento em língua portuguesa, apresenta-se igualmente fundamental no processo de construção de sujeitos solidários e cidadãos, conscientes de seus lugares no mundo. Nesse sentido, buscou-se desenvolver metodologia ancorada no uso de desenhos animados nas séries iniciais para o letramento em Língua Portuguesa e em História. Os desenhos animados são linguagens imagéticas familiares e recorrentes para parte considerável dos educandos de todo o ensino fundamental. Os materiais (desenhos animados e materiais de apoio) foram produzidos em DVD e também estão disponíveis no site YouTube (Canal Animações Revolução), com ampla e total liberdade aos espectadores para significá-los e resignificá-los. Os desenhos animados possuem três matrizes temáticas: as Histórias e Culturas Afro-Brasileiras, as Histórias e Culturas da África e as Histórias e Culturas dos Povos Indígenas Brasileiros, todas presentes na Lei 11645/2008. Os contatos dos educandos, em seus primeiros anos de escolarização, com temáticas da História numa perspectiva crítica constituem estratégias eficientes no processo de formação de consciências históricas plurais. / [en] Literacy in Portuguese in inciais grades of elementary school is numerous researchers reflection object, especially the fundamental place that writing and reading occupy in the schooling process. However, in view of a reading that goes beyond the written text boundaries, extending to a reading of the world, literacy in history, simultaneously to literacy in Portuguese also presents fundamental in the construction of solidary subjects and citizens process , aware of their places in the world. In this sense, we sought to develop methodology anchored in the use of cartoons in the early grades for literacy in English Language and History. The cartoons are familiar and recurring imagistic language to considerable part of students of all elementary school. The materials (cartoons and supporting materials) were produced on DVD and also estãodisponíveis on YouTube (Channel Animations Revolution), with wide and full freedom to viewers to signify them and significance to them. The cartoons have three thematic matrices: Histories and Cultures Afro-Brazilian, Histories and Cultures of Africa and the Histories and Cultures of Indigenous Peoples Brazilians, all present in Law 11645/2008. contacts the students in their first years of schooling, with themes of history in a critical perspective are efficient strategies in the process of forming plurals historical consciousness.

[pt] Esta dissertação faz uma análise da transposição da narrativa oral de pessoas da terceira idade para os desenhos infantis por um processo empírico onde observamos a produção de 453 desenhos de alunos em escolas municipais do Rio de Janeiro. Configurados a partir de histórias da infância dos idosos, esses desenhos foram objeto de estudo em relação à criatividade, à narratividade e à memória que possibilitaram a representação dos elementos dessas histórias. A idéia é averiguar a influência do tempo entre a escuta e o desenho, a interferência do processo de ensino e aprendizagem no espaço escolar e a relação do sujeito com os materiais desta transposição, levando em conta a cultura, o contexto e o nível de expertise dos sujeitos. / [en] This dissertation analyses the process of transposition of aged peoples oral narrative to childrens drawings, by an empirical work where we were able to analyse 453 drawings made by pupils from Rio de Janeiro schools.Inpired by the childhood stories of the aged collaborators, these drawings show narrative capacities, creative qualities and the memory of these stories. The intention is to understand time influences between the period listening to the stories and the transposed drawing. The interference of the teaching and learning process on the drawings, made in a school enviroment and, finally, the relation between the individual and the materials available for this transposition, taking into account the culture, the environment and the level of expertise.
