Geografias em movimento: território e centralidade no Rio de Janeiro joanino (1808-1821) / Geographies in moviment: territory and centrality at Rio de Janeiro in D. João VI period (1808-1821)

Pretendeu-se investigar, nesta dissertação, as transformações espaciais ocorridas no Rio de Janeiro no período em que a cidade foi morada da família real portuguesa (1808- 1821), a partir de diferentes escalas. Primeiramente, a escala da cidade, centrando a análise nas adaptações e ajustes necessários para transformar uma cidade colonial em cidade de corte. Em seguida investiga-se a configuração da região polarizada pelo Rio de Janeiro, observando-se os mecanismos de ocupação do território e exploração dos sertões, através do estreitamento de interesses entre a elite local e os emigrados da corte. Por fim, analisa-se a cidade na escala de suas relações intercontinentais: tanto como a capital de um Reino espalhado por quatro continentes, quanto como um porto dinâmico, que se consolida como centro de uma vasta rede articulando fluxos continentais e marítimos. Esta experiência de quase inversão de papéis, ao transformar-se a antiga capital colonial em sede da monarquia portuguesa e de um grande Império, teve consequências consideráveis para o processo de independência do Brasil, que vislumbrou na vastidão e potencialidade do território um de seus alicerces principais. / This research tries to investigate the spatial changes that took place in the city of Rio de Janeiro during the stay of the Royal family, after escaping from Napoleon. The scale of the city itself is the subject of the first chapiter that focus on the adaptations and adjusts needed to transform the colonial city into a court city. On the following chapiter, the mechanisms of occupation of the region polarized by the city in analyzed, including the exploitation of the borders (sertões). Finally, we go back to the scale of the city, but now to think of it as an intercontinental port that articulates terrestrial and maritime fluxes, and also as the capital of a vast kingdom. This experience of changing roles between colony and metropolis had some important consequences to the process of independence developed in Brazil. A political process that considered the territory as one of its most valuable basis.

Thus the application arises from biosorbents, an emerging technology that needs to be studied and explored, in order to promote better environmental and human life quality. The study craved verify removal capacity in synthetic aqueous solutions of ions Cr (VI) at concentrations of 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 mg/L by biosorption by use of active and inactive fungal biomass Pleurotus ostreatus. In the use of the active biosorbent, kinetic studies revealed that in 336 hours was achieved 100% of its saturation capacity at concentrations of 10 and 25 mg/L of Cr (VI), achieving total removal of Cr (VI) in the order of 250 times over the recommended limit for industrial effluents in CONAMA Resolution nº 430/2011, and 360 hours biomass reached its maximum capacity of saturation, reaching values of 98,18% and 96,84%, in concentrations of 50 and 75 mg/L of Cr (VI), respectively. Observing the concentrations of 100% removal was confirmed by analysis of the total EAA chromium values of 141,66 mg/g and 133,55 mg/g biomass respectively. The analysis revealed the micrographs by SEM and TEM we observed at the cellular composition of biomass the presence of bacterial cells associated with the fungus, which on analysis was not possible to know where the metal was in adsorbed, it is better to point out that it was possible to detect content chromium from the cellular structure of the biomass. In the use of the idle biosorbent, kinetic studies showed that 6, 10 and 12 minutes it was reaching 100% of its saturation capacity at concentrations of 10, 25 and 50 mg/L of Cr (VI), respectively, achieving total removal Cr (VI) in the order of 500 times over the recommended limit for industrial effluents in CONAMA Resolution No. 430/2011, and in 22 minutes biomass reached its maximum capacity of saturation, reaching values of 73,21% and 55,13% at concentrations of 75 and 100 mg/L of Cr (VI), respectively. The Langmuir model was the one that best fit the experimental data biosorbent P. ostreatus, when evaluating the separation factor (RL), responding to values between zero and 1. Now, considering the values of the coefficient of determination (R2), the Freundlich model fit better due to present higher values in relation to the Langmuir model. / As técnicas existentes de remoção de metais pesados são caras e muitas vezes não são eficientes. Dessa forma surge a aplicação de biossorventes, uma tecnologia emergente que precisa ser estudada e explorada, com o objetivo de promover melhor qualidade ambiental e da vida humana. O estudo almejou verificar a capacidade de remoção em soluções aquosas sintéticas de íons Cr(VI) nas concentrações de 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 e 150 mg/L, através da biossorção pela utilização da biomassa fúngica ativa e inativa de Pleurotus ostreatus. Na utilização do biossorvente ativo, os estudos cinéticos revelaram que em 336 horas foi alcançado 100% de sua capacidade de saturação nas concentrações de 10 e 25 mg/L de Cr(VI), alcançando uma remoção total de Cr(VI) na ordem de 250 vezes em relação ao limite preconizado para efluentes industriais na Resolução do CONAMA nº 430/2011, e em 360 horas a biomassa atingiu sua capacidade máxima de saturação, atingindo valores de 98,18% e 96,84%, nas concentrações de 50 e 75 mg/L de Cr(VI), respectivamente. Observando as concentrações de 100% de remoção, foi confirmando através da análise de EAA valores de crômio total de 141,66 mg/g e 133,55 mg/g de biomassa, respectivamente. Na análise revelada pelas microfotografias por MEV e MET foi possível verificar junto a composição celular da biomassa a presença de células bacterianas associadas ao fungo, que em análise não foi possível saber onde o metal se encontrava adsorvido, mais vale salientar que foi possível detectar conteúdo de crômio junto a estrutura celular da biomassa. Na utilização do biossorvente inativo, os estudos cinéticos revelaram que em 6, 10 e 12 minutos foi alcançando 100% de sua capacidade de saturação nas concentrações de 10, 25 e 50 mg/L de Cr(VI), respectivamente, alcançando uma remoção total de Cr(VI) na ordem de 500 vezes em relação ao limite preconizado para efluentes industriais na Resolução do CONAMA nº 430/2011, e em 22 minutos a biomassa atingiu sua capacidade máxima de saturação, atingindo valores de 73,21% e 55,13%, nas concentrações de 75 e 100 mg/L de Cr(VI), respectivamente. O modelo de Langmuir foi o que se melhor ajustou aos dados experimentais do biossorvente P. ostreatus, quando avaliando o fator de separação (RL), respondendo a valores entre zero e 1. Agora, considerando os valores do coeficiente de determinação (R2), o modelo de Freundlich se ajustou melhor, devido apresentar valores maiores em relação ao modelo de Langmuir.

Aspectos farmacoeconômicos associados à terapia de reposição enzimática para mucopolissacaridoses tipo I, II e VI : um estudo com ênfase em intervenções médicas

Introdução: As mucopolisaccaridoses tipo I (MPS I), tipo II (MPS II) e tipo VI (MPS VI) são doenças lisossômicas (DL) para as quais está disponível a terapia de reposição enzimática (TRE) com laronidase, idursulfase e galsufase, respectivamente. Objetivo Primário: Analisar a frequência anual de intervenções médicas (número de consultas, internações, cirurgias, exames solicitados, medicamentos prescritos, equipamentos de uso crônico e outras formas de terapia) em uma amostra de pacientes brasileiros com MPS I, II e VI e, desta forma, contribuir para o conhecimento dos aspectos farmacoeconômicos relacionados a essas doenças. Metodologia: Estudo exploratório, retrospectivo, de base hospitalar, baseado em revisão de prontuário, com amostragem por conveniência, e que foi realizado em duas etapas (etapas 1 e 2). Um instrumento específico para a coleta de dados de ambas as etapas foi construído pela equipe do estudo, que é multidisciplinar. Os desfechos de interesse foram as frequências anuais de intervenções médicas (consultas, exames, cirurgias, internações, medicamentos utilizados, outras formas de terapia). A etapa 1 consistiu em estudo pré-experimental, realizado no Serviço de Genética Médica do Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (SGM-HCPA), e que comparou as variáveis de interesse, para o mesmo grupo de pacientes, entre o período pré e pós-TRE. Os critérios de inclusão dessa etapa foram: ter diagnóstico confirmado de MPS I; estar em acompanhamento regular no SGM-HCPA desde o diagnóstico; estar em TRE por pelo menos um ano; e não ter participado de ensaio clínico envolvendo TRE ou ter realizado transplante de células-tronco hematopoiéticas. A etapa 2 foi transversal, multicêntrica (centros incluídos: SGMHCPA, Departamento de Genética Médica da Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas – PUC-Campinas, e Departamento de Pediatria da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro - UERJ), e comparou as variáveis de interesse entre grupos diferentes de pacientes (aqueles recebendo TRE e aqueles não recebendo TRE). Para essa etapa, foram considerados somente os dados relativos a 2010, sendo os seguintes os critérios de inclusão dos pacientes: ter diagnóstico confirmado de MPS I, II e VI; não estar participando de nenhum ensaio clínico envolvendo TRE ou ter realizado transplante de células-tronco hematopoiéticas; estar em TRE por pelo menos 12 meses antes do início da coleta, ou em acompanhamento por pelo 12 meses antes do início da coleta. Resultados: Etapa 1 - Nove pacientes (graves=3; atenuados=6) com MPS I foram incluídos no estudo, com mediana de idade de diagnóstico de 4,4 anos. Somente o número de cirurgias/ano/paciente foi dependente do tempo de doença (p=0,0004) e da gravidade do fenótipo (p=0,014). Com relação às comparações pré e pós-TRE, as variáveis que apresentaram diferença significativa (média do número/ano/paciente) foram: exames (pré-TRE=10,2+2,7; pós-TRE=22,5+2,1; p=0,005) e internações (pré-TRE=0,05+0,04; pós-TRE=0,30+0,11; p=0,013). Para as demais variáveis, não foi encontrada associação. Etapa 2 - Trinta e quatro pacientes com MPS I (n=12), II (n=17) e VI (n=5) foram incluídos no estudo. Desses, sete não utilizavam TRE (grupo “sem TRE") e 27 faziam uso de tratamento específico (grupo “com TRE"). Não foi encontrada correlação significativa entre tempo de doença e as variáveis estudadas. Considerando a amostra total, foi encontrada diferença entre o grupo “sem TRE” e o grupo “com TRE” em relação à mediana de internações hospitalares e de cirurgias realizadas [1(0-2) vs. 0 (0-1), p=0,015; e 0 (0-2) vs. 0 (0-0), p=0,040, respectivamente]. Para as crianças/adolescentes (<18 anos), não foi encontrada diferença estatística entre os grupos. Os pacientes com comprometimento cognitivo utilizavam mais medicamentos que os demais (p=0,024). Encontrou-se correlação negativa entre as variáveis duração da TRE e número anual de internações (r= -0,504; p=0,007). Discussão/ Conclusões: Este é um dos primeiros estudos a avaliar aspectos relacionados à farmaconomia da TRE para as MPS. De acordo com os resultados obtidos na etapa 2, verifica-se que, desconsiderando-se o custo associado às infusões, o custo do tratamento de pacientes com MPS parece ser menor para aqueles pacientes que utilizam a TRE do que para os pacientes que fazem somente tratamento sintomático. Entretanto, de acordo com a etapa 1 do estudo, a TRE parece não impedir a evolução da doença, pelo menos em relação à MPS I, e, assim, a cada ano de vida do paciente ocorreria um incremento do custo associado ao tratamento. Estudos adicionais, com maior tamanho amostral, deverão ser realizados para confirmar nossos achados. / Introduction: The mucopolysaccharidoses type I (MPS I), II (MPS II) and VI (MPS VI) are lysosomal disorders (LSD) for which enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) with laronidase, idursulfase and galsulfase, respectively, are available. Principal objective: To analyze the annual frequency of medical interventions (number of medical appointments, hospital admissions, surgical procedures, exams performed, medications prescribed, ancillary therapies and the use of medical devices) in a sample of Brazilian patients with MPS I, II and VI, and thus, contribute to the understanding of some pharmacoeconomic aspects related to these diseases. Methodology: Retrospective, exploratory, hospital-based study, based on medical records review, with convenience sampling, which was conducted in two steps (steps 1 and 2). A specific data collection instrument for both steps was designed by the study team, which is multidisciplinary. The chosen outcomes were: annual frequencies of medical interventions (medical appointments, exams, surgical procedures, hospital admissions, medications used and ancillary therapies). Step 1 was a pre-experimental study conducted at the Medical Genetics Service of Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (SGM-HCPA), and compared the variables of interest between the pre and post-ERT periods for the same group of patients. The patient inclusion criteria were: a biochemical diagnosis of MPS I and regular follow-up at SGM-HCPA since diagnosis; ERT for at least 1 year; no enrollment in any clinical trials involving ERT, and no history of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Step 2 was a cross-sectional and multicentric estudy (Centers included: SGM-HCPA), the Department of Medical Genetics of Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas - PUC-Campinas, and the Department of Pediatrics at Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ, which compared the variables of interest between different groups of patients (those receiving and those not receiving ERT). For this step only data from 2010 were considered. The inclusion patient criteria were: a biochemical diagnosis of MPS I, II or VI; no enrollment in any clinical trials involving ERT, and no history of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, to be on ERT for at least 12 months before the start of data collection or to undergo regular follow-up for at least 12 months before the start of data collection. Results: Step 1 – Nine MPS I patients (severe=3; attenuated phenotype=6) were included in the study with median age at diagnosis was 4.4 years. Only the number/year/patient of surgeries was found to be dependent on length of disease (p=0.0004) and on severity of phenotype (p=0.014). Regarding pre- and post-ERT comparisons, the variables for which a significant difference was detected (mean number/year/patient) were exams (pre-ERT, 10.2±2.7; post-ERT, 22.5±2.1; p=0.005) and hospital admissions (pre-ERT, 0.05±0.04; post-ERT, 0.30±0.11; p=0.013). For the other variables, no association was found. Step 2: Thirty-four patients with MPS I, II and VI were included (I=12, II=17, VI=5). From them, 27 on ERT (“ERT group”) and 7 receiving supportive care only (“non-ERT group”). There were no significant correlation between length of disease and any of the variables of interest. There were significant between-group differences in the median number of hospital admissions and surgical procedures, both of which were higher in the non-ERT group [1(0-2) vs. 0 (0-1), p=0,015; e 0 (0-2) vs. 0 (0-0), p=0,040, respectively]. There were no significant between-group differences when only children and adolescents (<18 years) were taken into account. Patients with cognitive involvement used more medications than the others (p=0.024). A correlation was detected between time on ERT and the hospital admissions variable (r= -0.504; p=0.007). Discussion/conclusions: This was one of the first studies to evaluate aspects related to pharmacoeconomics of ERT for MPS. According to the results of step 2, and not acknowledging the costs associated with recombinant enzyme infusions, patients with MPS who undergo ERT generate less cost to SUS than patients on symptomatic treatment. On the other hand, according to the results of step 1, ERT seems not to stop the disease progress, at least in respect to MPS I, and thus, for each year of a patient life occurred an increase in cost associated with treatment. Additional studies with larger sample size are needed to confirm our findings.

Preparation and Application of Conducting Polymer-Carbon Nanotube Composite.

Recently there have been considerable interests in nanometerial study. In this work, we have used carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and polypyrrole (PPy) conducting polymers (CPs) as models to make a nanotube and conducting polymer composite material. Under electro-oxidation condition, the PPy/CNT films can be grown on conventional substrates such as a glassy carbon electrode in aqueous and non-aqueous media. These nano-conjugated materials are based on the doping of CNTs particles into conducting polymer network while oxidatively polymerizing. CNTs serve as dopants and solely supporting electrolytes in the preparation. The CP/CNT new composite materials have showed promise not only in a potential environmental remedy such as conversion of highly toxic Cr(VI) into less harmful Cr(III), but also in electrocatalysis of the quinone/hydroquinone redox reaction. Voltammetry, bulk electrolysis with coulometry, AC impedance, and EQCM techniques have been used to elucidate the preparation, ion transport, and intermolecular interaction processes within these composites.

Continuous Permeability Measurement During Unidirectional Vacuum Infusion Processing

Composite materials have traditionally been used in high-end aerospace parts and low-end consumer parts. The reason for this separation in markets is the wide gap in technology between pre-preg materials processed in an autoclave and chop strand fiberglass blown into an open mold. Liquid composite molding has emerged as a bridge between inexpensive tooling and large, technical parts. Processes such as vacuum infusion have made it possible to utilize complex layups of reinforcement materials in an open mold style set-up, creating optimal conditions for composites to penetrate many new markets with rapid innovation. Flow simulation for liquid composite molding is often performed to assist in process optimization, and requires the permeability of the reinforcement to be characterized. For infusion under a flexible membrane, such as vacuum infusion, or for simulation of a part with non-uniform thickness, one must test the permeability at various levels of compaction. This process is time consuming and often relies on interpolation or extrapolation around a few experimental permeability measurements. To accelerate the process of permeability characterization, a small number of methodologies have been previously presented in the literature, in which the permeability may be tested at multiple fiber volume contents in a single test. Some of the methods even measure the permeability over a continuous range of thicknesses, thus requiring no later interpolation of permeability values. A novel method is presented here for the rapid measurement of permeability over a continuous range of fiber volume content, in a single unidirectional vacuum infusion flow experiment. The thickness gradient across the vacuum bag, as well as the fluid pressure at several locations in the mold, were concurrently measured to calculate the fabric compressibility. An analytical flow model, which accounts for the compressibility, is then used by iterating the fitting constant in a permeability model until the predicted flow front progression matches empirical measurement. The method is demonstrated here for two reinforcement materials: 1) a fiberglass unbalanced weave and 2) a carbon bi-ax non-crimped fabric. The standard deviation of calculated permeabilities across the multiple infusion experiments for each material and flow orientation ranged from 12.8% to 29.7%. Validation of these results was performed by comparing the resulting permeability with multiple non-continuous permeability measurement methods.

Synthèse de nanocristaux fluorescents de semi-conducteurs II-VI et III-V. Augmentation de l'échelle de synthèse

Ce travail de thèse concerne le développement de la synthèse de différents types de nanocristaux (NCs) fluorescents de semi-conducteurs II-VI et III-V en vue de leur production à plus grande échelle. Les principaux intérêts de ces NCs pour de nombreuses applications (marquage biologique, diodes électroluminescentes, etc.) sont la possibilité d'ajuster leur couleur d'émission avec leur taille, leur rendement quantique de fluorescence élevé et leur stabilité. Nos études ont d'abord porté sur le système le plus connu, le CdSe, puis sur d'autres semi-conducteurs II-VI (CdS, Cd1-xZnxSe) et un composé III-V (InP). Le système réactionnel choisi est basé sur la méthode d'injection rapide des précurseurs dans un solvant organique à température élevée. Dans le but de l'augmentation de l'échelle de synthèse, les précurseurs et solvants ont été sélectionnés selon les critères de faible coût, disponibilité commerciale et facilité de manipulation (stabilité à l'air, toxicité). Nous avons effectué un plan d'expériences avec la méthode de Taguchi afin de déterminer l'influence de différents facteurs (concentration en réactifs, nature du ligand, température, ...) sur la taille et la dispersion en taille des NCs avec un minimum d'expériences. Pour l'utilisation de quantités plus importantes un montage permettant une injection automatisée des précurseurs dans un réacteur de 2 litres a été développé. Ceci a permis la synthèse de NCs de CdSe avec une augmentation de l'échelle d'un facteur 20. Nous avons ainsi obtenu des lots de plusieurs grammes de trois tailles distinctes de NCs de CdSe monodisperses. Dans le but d'améliorer le rendement quantique de fluorescence des NCs et d'augmenter leur stabilité, nous avons fait croître une coquille d'un semi-conducteur à gap plus grand à leur surface. Afin d'éviter l'utilisation de réactifs pyrophoriques pour la croissance de coquille, nous avons développé de nouveaux précurseurs pour les coquilles de CdS et ZnS, l'éthylxanthate de cadmium et l'éthylxanthate de zinc. Ces précurseurs monomoléculaires sont stables à l'air, faciles à synthétiser, peu chers et se décomposent à des températures adaptées pour la croissance de coquilles. Les NCs obtenus à base de CdSe, de CdS, de Cd1-xZnxSe et d'InP présentaient des rendements quantiques de fluorescence entre 40 et 70%. Un mélange dans certaines proportions des NCs émettant dans le bleu, le vert et le rouge a permis de générer de la lumière blanche stable dans le temps.

Confinements non-usuels dans les boîtes quantiques semiconductrices

Cette thèse porte sur des calculs numériques des propriétés électroniques et optiques des boîtes quantiques avec des confinements non-usuels tels que des boîtes de InGaN/GaN, des tétrapodes de CdSe,...<br /><br />Après avoir présenté les méthodes de calculs numériques utilisées tout au long de cette thèse, nous commençons par étudier théoriquement un super-réseau des boîtes quantiques InAs/GaAs avec une petite périodicité. Cette petite périodicité entraîne l'alignement vertical des boîtes quantiques. Nous montrons que l'état fondamental ne couple qu'avec les états du continuum qui ont presque la même extension dans le plan pour les excitations avec la polarisation suivant la direction de croissance (z). En conséquence de ces couplages particuliers, les photo-réponses en polarisation z ne changent pas quand un champ magnétique est appliqué parallèle à z malgré la présence de nombreux états de quasi-Landau dans le continuum. Nous montrons ensuite qu'une absorption lié-continuum forte en polarisation dans le plan peut être obtenue si l'on réduit la taille latérale des boîtes. Ces résultats sont utilisés pour expliquer les résultats expérimentaux obtenus à Vienne. Dans ce travail effectué en collaboration, nous étudions théoriquement et expérimentalement les photo-détecteurs basés sur des boîtes quantiques InAs/GaAs insérées dans un super-réseau, sans ou avec les barrières de AlAs. Nous montrons que ces structures périodiques peuvent être utilisées pour fabriquer des photo-détecteurs dans la gamme infrarouge lointain. Les spectres de photo-courant sont en bon accord avec les spectres d'absorption optique obtenus par nos calculs.<br /><br />Nous nous intéressons aussi à des hétéro-structures à base de nitrure. Ces semi-conducteurs présentent des propriétés physiques originales comme des grandes masses effectives, de grands offsets de bande, un champ piézo-électrique colossal, ... Nous nous focalisons sur les hétéro-structures InGaN/GaN sur lesquelles de nombreuses applications opto-électroniques sont basées. Nous montrons que les effets du désordre ainsi que les grandes valeurs physiques rendent l'Approximation du Cristal Virtuel non valable dans ces systèmes. Enfin, nous effectuons des calculs des structures électroniques des tétrapodes de CdSe. Nous montrons que les quatre premiers états sont confinés en grande partie dans le corps sphérique, ce qui est cohérent avec les spectres expérimentaux.

Croissance et contrôle de l'émission spontanée de boîtes quantiques semiconductrices CdSe/ZnSe placées en microcavités optiques

Dans ce travail, des boîtes quantiques CdSe/ZnSe sont élaborées par épitaxie par jets moléculaires et sont placées dans des microcavités piliers pour contrôler leur émission spontanée. Pour un mode de cavité optique, le confinement du photon dans un volume de l'ordre du cube de la longueur d'onde peut conduire à un raccourcissement marqué de la durée de vie pour un émetteur résonant avec ce mode : c'est l'effet Purcell. <br />Nous présentons une nouvelle méthode d'élaboration de boîtes quantiques CdSe/ZnSe de manière auto-organisée. Des caractérisations structurales par microscopie à force atomique, microscopie électronique à transmission et diffraction de rayons X haute résolution sont présentées. Des études spectroscopiques sur des ensembles de boîtes et des boîtes uniques nous permettent d'étudier la tenue du confinement des porteurs dans nos boîtes quantiques avec la température. Enfin, ces boîtes quantiques sont placées en microcavités piliers pour contrôler leur émission spontanée. Pour la réalisation des microcavités, des couches d'oxydes sont utilisées pour l'élaboration de miroirs de Bragg et la couche active utilise des boîtes quantiques CdSe/ZnSe. Des expériences de photoluminescence résolue en temps sur une série de boîtes quantiques montrent l'obtention de l'effet Purcell dans nos structures. Un raccourcissement de temps de vie d'un facteur trois est observé pour des boîtes quantiques en résonance avec des modes de cavité excités.

Mécanismes de formation des boîtes quantiques semiconductrices, application aux nanostructures II-VI (puits et boîtes) et étude de leurs propriétés optiques Ce travail présente un modèle de croissance hétéroépitaxiale à l'équilibre mettant en évidence les principaux paramètres qui gouvernent la relaxation des contraintes. Le mode effectif de croissance résulte de la compétition entre la relaxation plastique (dislocations à l'interface) et l'élastique (îlots en surface). Dans les semiconducteurs II-VI, le faible coût en énergie à former des dislocations favorise la relaxation plastique. Nous avons par conséquent développé une procédure de croissance qui court-circuite la relaxation plastique (grâce à l'abaissement du coût en énergie de surface pour créer des facettes) et induit donc la formation de boîtes quantiques CdTe sur Zn(Mg)Te. Celles-ci sont étudiées en diffraction d'électrons en incidence rasante, microscopie à force atomique et, une fois encapsulées, spectroscopie optique. L'incorporation de magnésium dans les barrières améliore les propriétés optiques tant des boîtes que des puits grâce à un meilleur confinement des trous.
