Movimento do verbo e categorias vazias em I e V em um fragmento de gramÃtica computacional do portuguÃs / Moviment of verb and slash categories in I or V in a fragment of computacional grammar of portugueseAndrÃa Feitosa dos Santos 10 November 2009 (has links)
This work has a theoretical and methodological framework that is divided into two complementary areas: the Language and Computational/Implementacional. For its computational stamp, the first scope of this work is directly linked to the processing of natural language (PNL). Thus, it implements an automatic syntactic analysis (parsing) of expressions of Portuguese in a computational program from the Python library of NLTK, whose tests are represented in tree configurations that show slash categories of finite sentences of Portuguese. Although the stamp computing, this research elaborates a grammar fragment, modeled to capture specific features of linguistic structure of Portuguese, based on the formal model of description linguistic known as Context Free Grammar (CFG) Based on Features, with the purpose of demonstrate how the library of NLTK programs supports the implementation of parsers for analyzing the feature structure. For its stamp of language, it analyzes, according to X-bar Theory and the Minimalist Program, sentences in European and Brazilian variants of Portuguese, obtained from surveys in electronic corpora available on the web. And this work describes and discusses the category IP (inflectional phrase) within the hierarchical structure of constituents, according to the hypothesis of syntactic operation of visible and invisible movement of elements of language, specifically the movement of the verb

Juges non professionnels et théorie générale du procès / Lay judges and general theory of trialGauchon, Charlotte 23 October 2015 (has links)
The definition of lay judges gather different features. They are non-magistrates third party directly or indirectly attached to a court with a jurisdictional function. Their task is unusual and they lack of compensation goals. This definition previously stated does not yet allow to postulate a legal category. The categorisation itself would imply the search of common grounds between the objects of study. The success of the project depends on the findings of unity between the lay judges themselves and on significant difference compared to the professional judges. The main function of a general theory of the trial dedicated to lay judges is to answer these following questions. What are the institutional and procedural features of lay judges? Are they sufficient to conclude that there is a legal category? Would the lay judges fit in the line of professional judges forming a simple variant in a broader legal category? The research will be divided into two stages, both organised around a fundamental distinction. The first part, of institutional order, will be an opportunity to study the relationship between the right to trial and the lay judges. The second part, of procedural order, will analyse the relationship of lay judges with a right for trial

Interracial couples within the South African context: experiences, perceptions and challengesMojapelo-Batka, Emily Mapula 31 May 2008 (has links)
In this study the experiences, perceptions and challenges of being in a mixed-race relationship (M-R) were explored against the backdrop of previous South African pieces of legislation meant to keep the various race groups apart. The study was located within a conceptual framework predominantly informed by a constructivist approach, as well as some tenets from the social constructionist approach.
This study focused only on M-R relationships consisting of black and white partners. The couples were recruited through the use of a snowball sampling method. In-depth interviews were used as the primary tool for collecting data. All participants were interviewed by the researcher either at their own homes or in the researcher's office. The collected information was later transcribed and qualitatively analysed.
The results of the study indicate that individuals found their involvement in M-R relationships to be a positive experience, and thus resulting in a positive attitude change and a sense of personal growth. M-R couples and their extended families experienced cognitive dissonance which required them to discard their previously internalised racial stereotypes, using strategies such as cognitive differentiation, re-categorization and de-categorization, allowing shifts toward non-racial socially constructed categories. Most of the challenges of being in M-R relationships were experienced on interpersonal and inter-group levels. The losses, disadvantages, challenges, concerns and pains experienced by M-R couples were mainly related to family and social disapproval of the relationship as well as efforts to discourage race mixing.
The study concludes that the non-conformist nature of M-R relationships requires from the participants a high level of self-differentiation and individuation that challenges racial norms and cultural collectivism. Albeit being a personal or private matter, a M-R relationship carries the burden of easily being the subject of public discourse. It is in this sense that M-R relationships cannot be understood without taking the socio-political context within which they occur into consideration. / Psychology / D.Phil. (Psychology)

以新產品開發流程探討組織內研發單位與事業群的發展與互動-以統一企業為例 / Discuss the development and interaction between R&D unit and business unit with new product development process-a case study of uni-president何乾瑋, HO,Chien-Wei Unknown Date (has links)
Under global economic conditions, corporations could make use of the resources all around the world, but they also have to face the challenges from competitors worldwide. Uni-President is the largest food industry corporation of Taiwan, and it has developed over 40 years, from foundation period, growing period, bloc period, international period to global network period. In the developing process, the technology dimension changes from the technology-oriented approach to the market-oriented approach because of the transformation of external economic structure and marketing environment.
of the R&D unit and business unit in different period. And then discuss the periodic transformation from bloc period to global network period with NPD(new product development)process and category management. At the end, discuss the interaction way of planning which the business unit is responsible for and development which the R&D unit is responsible for, the most important stages of NPD process, with concurrent engineering concept.
The periodic development of Taiwanese food industry with the external transformations can be clearly understood through this research analysis. The reader could not only realize the evolution, shift and adjustment of NPD process but also the communication way of R&D department and business department, providing a management mode for developing fast moving consumer goods industry that faces pressures from marketing and customer.

The present thesis comprises a set of three research articles (two studies and one review article) on the cognitive neuroscience of language, all of which were written with the purpose of understanding the benefits that contemporary (neuro)linguistic theory may draw from an extensive study of the cognitive and neural processes underlying Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and vice versa. Two studies are presented, using event-related brain potentials, which provide preliminary evidence in typical individuals for two aspects of sentence processing in need of future investigation in ASD participants: (1) The neural correlates of the peculiar syntactic and semantic nature of verbs of experience (Experiencer Subject verbs, i.e., The girl has feared the storm) as opposed to verbs of action (Agent Subject verbs, i.e., The boys have eaten the fries) and their potential interface with Theory of Mind – the ability to attribute mental states to self and others – known to present delays and impairments in autism, and (2) the neural correlates of “visual imagery” skills, as assessed through the Raven Matrices, on comprehenders’ ability to detect word category violations (e.g., He made the meal to enjoy with friends/He made the enjoy to meal with friends) in a balanced visual paradigm and their potential insights into the role of visual imagery in language comprehension, known to play a potentially predominant role in ASD. The review article attempts to provide a larger perspective on the role of the cognitive neuroscience of ASD in the biology of language, in which the importance of considering autism as a “cognitive style” rather than as a disorder is given greater value, especially relative to the common notion of autism solely as a Theory of Mind impairment. Aside from their potential prospects for future research in autistic populations, these three articles also attempt to frame their topic of inquiry into the broader context of contemporary research questions on language development and language comprehension, such as the role of animacy in language processing (the “semantic P600” debate), asymmetric sampling theories of speech and music perception, the role of vision in language, modularity, cognitive styles or Bayesian inference.

Compositional distributional semantics with compact closed categories and Frobenius algebrasKartsaklis, Dimitrios January 2014 (has links)
The provision of compositionality in distributional models of meaning, where a word is represented as a vector of co-occurrence counts with every other word in the vocabulary, offers a solution to the fact that no text corpus, regardless of its size, is capable of providing reliable co-occurrence statistics for anything but very short text constituents. The purpose of a compositional distributional model is to provide a function that composes the vectors for the words within a sentence, in order to create a vectorial representation that re ects its meaning. Using the abstract mathematical framework of category theory, Coecke, Sadrzadeh and Clark showed that this function can directly depend on the grammatical structure of the sentence, providing an elegant mathematical counterpart of the formal semantics view. The framework is general and compositional but stays abstract to a large extent. This thesis contributes to ongoing research related to the above categorical model in three ways: Firstly, I propose a concrete instantiation of the abstract framework based on Frobenius algebras (joint work with Sadrzadeh). The theory improves shortcomings of previous proposals, extends the coverage of the language, and is supported by experimental work that improves existing results. The proposed framework describes a new class of compositional models thatfind intuitive interpretations for a number of linguistic phenomena. Secondly, I propose and evaluate in practice a new compositional methodology which explicitly deals with the different levels of lexical ambiguity (joint work with Pulman). A concrete algorithm is presented, based on the separation of vector disambiguation from composition in an explicit prior step. Extensive experimental work shows that the proposed methodology indeed results in more accurate composite representations for the framework of Coecke et al. in particular and every other class of compositional models in general. As a last contribution, I formalize the explicit treatment of lexical ambiguity in the context of the categorical framework by resorting to categorical quantum mechanics (joint work with Coecke). In the proposed extension, the concept of a distributional vector is replaced with that of a density matrix, which compactly represents a probability distribution over the potential different meanings of the specific word. Composition takes the form of quantum measurements, leading to interesting analogies between quantum physics and linguistics.

Migrační mobilita seniorů / Migration mobility of seniorsDragounová, Kristina January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to migration mobility of seniors in the Czech Republic in the years 2001 - 2003 and 2010 - 2012. The theoretical part is discussing general issues of demographic aging, the issue of seniors in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the pension system and pension reform. There is also characterized the care for the elderly and subsequently stated distribution of seniors by district and by size of groups of municipalities in the Czech Republic. The last part of the basic issues is dedicated to the migration, followed by the evaluation of the development of migration in the Czech Republic and partly international migration of seniors. The main part is focused on the issue of migration behavior. The analysis of a large set of data migration is performed at the regional, district level and also between size groups of municipalities. The aim was to evaluate regions, or municipalities size groups in terms of their attractiveness for seniors. For people over 60 years were most attractive small and middle cities. It was also shown that migrants migrate for shorter distances, since migration between municipalities within the county produces around 50% of all all moving. Subsequently reasons for moving are compared for the years 2001 - 2003, which was a task to figure out why...

Algebraická a kripkovská sémantika substrukturálních logik / Algebraic and Kripke semantics of substructural logicsArazim, Pavel January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is about the distributive full Lambek calculus, i.e., intuicionistic logic without the structural rules of exchange, contraction and weakening and particularly about the two semantics of this logic, one of which is algebraic, the other one is a Kripke semantic. The two semantics are treated in separate chapters and some results about them are shown, for example the disjunction property is proven by amalgamation of Kripke models. The core of this thesis is nevertheless the relation of these two semantics, since it is interesting to study what do they have in common and how can they actually differ, both being a semantics of the same logic. We show how to translate frames to algebras and algebras to frames, and, moreover, we extend such translation to morphisms, thus constructing two functors between the two categories. Key words:distributive FL logic, distributive full Lambek calculus, structural rules, distributive residuated lattice, Kripke frames, frame morphisms, category, functor 2
