Esta disertación tiene como objetivo realizar el análisis de la crítica literaria en tres autores: el brasilero Mário de Andrade (1893-1945), el colombiano Baldomero Sanín Cano (1861-1957) y el mexicano Alfonso Reyes (1889-1959), dentro de los contextos histórico-culturales del Modernismo Hispanoamericano de entre siglos y el Modernismo Brasilero de los años 20 y 30, así como de la Revolución Cultural mexicana de inicios del siglo XX. El concepto que sustenta tal análisis es el de valor menor que remite, a partir de la idea barthesiana de imagen, a una palabra que, estando dentro del texto crítico mismo, funciona como clave reveladora y potencializadora del sentido de esa lectura crítica. El valor menor, a diferencia del valor mayor que sería la expresión de una época y de una generación, se propone aquí como la expresión subjetiva que mejor se alía a la práctica de la crítica literaria ejercida desde el ensayo como escritura de búsqueda de sentido y no de certezas conclusivas. / The aim of this this thesis is to analyze the practice of literary criticism in Brazilian Mário de Andrade (1893-1945), Colombian Baldomero Sanín Cano (1861-1957), and Mexican Alfonso Reyes (1889-1959), inside the historical and cultural context of Hispano-American Modernism (between centuries) and Brazilian Modernism (20´s and 30´s) as well as the Mexican Cultural Revolution at the beginning of the XX century. \"This analysis relies upon the concept of Minor Values, which departs from Barthes\' proposed image. It refers to a word which, being part of the critical text, works as a revealing key, strengthening the sense of the critical text. Different from the major value -true expression of an epoch and generation-, the minor value is the most subjective expression that best adheres to the practice of literary criticism from the point of view of the literary essay as a quest for sense instead of certainties.

However, most of them regard the federal government and the disputes concerning the different interpretations on the Brazilian agrarian issue in the National Congress. Furthermore, when the analyses focus these disputes from the states? specific cases, they are generally oriented by the social actors? activities, such as social movements, the Church, labor unions, among others. In this sense, the states governments? acts are interpreted as a mere response to the mobilizations in favor of land reform. This study, conducted in Rio Grande do Sul, aims to go beyond some of those impressions. Based on a documentary research and interviews, it was possible to verify that the emergence of local land reform mobilizations have had a meaningful relation with the Leonel Brizola?s government representatives (1959-1963). This government has given incentives to landless rural workers associations? formation, which were responsible by most of the land demands in the state. From these groups? actions, the government mobilized some articles from the state Constitution in order to meet this demand. Therefore, this study analyzes the Leonel Brizola?s agrarian public policies. However, facing the questions posed by this subject, it?s necessary to amplify the analysis field beyond the limits of the government itself, exploring the construction of these constitutional articles, as well as the formation process of groups responsible by the mobilizations, which produced the necessary interdependence to the colonization projects? promotion. / H? uma vasta gama de trabalhos relacionados aos debates sobre reforma agr?ria no Brasil entre as d?cadas de 1950 e 1960. Entretanto, grande parte deles diz respeito a an?lises concentradas sob o prisma do governo federal e disputas acerca de diferentes interpreta??es sobre o problema agr?rio brasileiro no Congresso Nacional. Ademais, quando as an?lises se concentram nos casos espec?ficos do enfrentamento destas quest?es pelos estados, geralmente s?o orientadas a partir da atividade de atores como movimentos sociais, a Igreja, sindicatos, entre outros. Neste sentido, a atua??o dos governos estaduais tende a ser entendida como mera resposta ?s mobiliza??es em favor da reforma agr?ria. Este trabalho, realizado a partir do caso do Rio Grande do Sul, prop?e-se a desfazer algumas dessas impress?es. Por meio de uma pesquisa baseada em um vasto material documental e entrevistas p?de-se verificar que a emerg?ncia de mobiliza??es locais por reforma agr?ria tiveram estreita rela??o com representantes do governo de Leonel Brizola (1959-1963). A eleição e divulgação de um grupo de atrizes - integrando a busca pela implantação de um star system do cinema brasileiro - foram resultantes da tentativa de industrialização do cinema paulista, levada adiante por Franco Zampari e Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho, por meio da fundação da Companhia Cinematográfica Vera Cruz no ano de 1949. Sendo assim ¿ visto que Eliane Lage foi lançada como atriz por essa Companhia ¿ situo inicialmente a proposta desses estúdios que pretenderam inaugurar no país uma produção em escala e com qualidade técnica, nos moldes do studio system de cinematografias hegemônicas. O Departamento de Publicidade da Vera Cruz desempenhava o papel de eleger e divulgar atrizes (e também atores) que estrelavam seus filmes. Choosing and marketing a group of actresses ¿ as an attempt to implement a star system in the Brazilian cinema ¿ resulted from an attempt to create a movie industry in São Paulo, and this was carried out by Franco Zampari and Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho through the creation of the Vera Cruz Movie Company (Companhia Cinematográfica Vera Cruz) in the year of 1949. Therefore, ¿ seing that Eliane Lage was officially launched as an actress by this Company ¿ I, initially, address the proposal of the studios which aimed at implementing in Brazil quality movie productions in scale mirrored in hegemonic movie studio systems. The Vera Cruz Marketing Department played a role in choosing and marketing the actresses (and actors) that starred their movies. Among all the male and female stars of this period, Eliane Lage is particularly interesting, because she adopted the position of denying the importance of a career in the movie industry as this study will show in more detail. Therefore, we consider an analysis of the Brazilian star system necessary. By bringing together three main topics: the Vera Cruz Movie Company, the Brazilian star system, and actress Eliane Lage, I intend to shed some light on a number of common sense issues concerning the end of the Vera Cruz Company and Eliane Lage¿s ephemeral career. A difusão de periódicos e impressos contribuiu para uma circulação diferenciada de ideias e discursos, envolvendo sujeitos históricos em diferentes dinâmicas entre o político e o cultural. Os intelectuais encontraram nesse tipo de meio de comunicação um espaço de expressão e engajamento com o processo revolucionário. A revista cubana Casa de las Américas se constituiu como centro de uma rede intelectual, a partir da qual se construiu e se difundiu um discurso revolucionário. Nossa proposta é partir desta revista, como objeto e fonte histórica, para aproximarmo-nos das ideias e noções conformadas entre intelectuais relacionados com o imaginário esquerdista da América Latina nos anos 1960 e 1970. Um dos nossos temas principais é a conformação de discursos identitários na revista. Defendemos que as identidades construídas discursivamente por Casa fazem parte da concepção que a própria revista tinha sobre sua atuação no processo revolucionário. Também, a questão em torno do papel do letrado é aqui analisada por nós. A publicação deu suporte para a formação de um discurso que valorizou e favoreceu uma estética e uma concepção de intelectual específicas para cumprir o que era visto como revolucionário. Devido à importância e à vigência que Casa estabelece para José Martí (1853-1895), as formas de discussão e apropriação da vida e obra deste letrado cubano figuram também em nossa argumentação, destacando mecanismos discursivos e formas de apropriação da história de Cuba. Dessa forma, passando por alguns temas político-culturais da revista, pretendemos abordar a história da esquerda latino-americana e da conformação de seu imaginário / Abstract: This work discusses and analyses the political and cultural debates during the first decades of the Cuban Revolution in the second half of the 20th century. In this context the dissemination of printed journals had contributed for the exchange of ideas and discourses, allowing the historical subjects to be immersed in a variety of political and cultural dynamics. Intellectuals found a space for expression and engagement with the revolutionary process in this type of media. The Cuban cultural journal Casa de las Américas was the center of an intellectual network from which the revolutionary discourse was built and spread. With the analysis of this journal we intend to get closer to the ideas and concepts that were being created and used by the Latin American leftist intellectuals of the 1960s and 1970s. One of our main themes is the conformation of identity discourses in the journal Casa de las Américas. The importance of the figure of the intellectual is another focused subject. We argue that the identities constructed discursively by this cultural journal are part of the design that the magazine itself had on its performance in the revolutionary process. The publication gave support to the formation of a discourse that valued and promoted a specific aesthetic and conception of intellectual which would fulfill what was seen as revolutionary. The important role that was reserved for José Martí (1853-1895) in Casa justifies our analysis of how his life and works were discussed and presented in the journal, emphasizing the discursive mechanisms and the different forms of appropriation of Cuban history. Observation of Very High Energy gamma-rays from Active Galactic Nuclei and characterization of their non-thermal emission mechanisms

Das Hauptziel dieser Arbeit ist die Charakterisierung extrem starker Quellen, die höchstwahrscheinlich die kosmische Strahlung beschleunigen. In dieser Arbeit wurden VHE-Gammastrahlenbeobachtungen mit den MAGIC-Teleskopen verwendet, um die Eigenschaften von Blazaren zu untersuchen. Um die Mechanismen zu untersuchen, die zur Breitbandemission von Blazaren führen, wird ein stationärer lepto-hadronischer Code unter Verwendung eines einfachen semianalytischen Frameworks entwickelt. Daher implementiert der Code neben den leptonischen Wechselwirkungen auch die relevanten hadronischen Wechselwirkungskanäle: Protonensynchrotronstrahlung, Photo-Meson-Wechselwirkungen, Proton-Proton-Wechselwirkungen und Paarkaskaden. Die Dissertation präsentiert die Ergebnisse derMAGIC- und Multiwellenlängen-Monitoring-Kampagne des Blazars 1ES 1959 + 650 im Jahr 2016. Im Jahr 2016 durchlief die Quelle eine äußerst aktive Phase und zeigte am 13. Juni, 14. Juni und 1. Juli 2016 drei bemerkenswert helle VHE-Gammastrahlenfackeln. Um die Breitbandspektren der Quelle während der bemerkenswerten Fackelaktivitäten zu untersuchen, wurden drei verschiedene theoretische Modelle übernommen: leptonisch, hadronisch und gemischt lepto-hadronisch. Sowohl das hadronische als auch das gemischte leptohadronische Modell ergaben während der intensiven Aktivitätsperiode Neutrinoflüsse, die unter der Empfindlichkeit der gegenwärtigen Generation von Neutrinoteleskopen liegen. Die Beobachtung eines hochenergetischen Neutrinos durch IceCube im räumlichen und zeitlichen Zusammentreffen mit einem aufflammenden Blazar mit dem Namen TXS 0506 + 056 ergab 2017 erstmals Hinweise auf Identifizierung einer extragalaktischen kosmischen Strahlenquelle. Die Modellierung der elektromagnetischen Daten und des vorhergesagten Neutrinoflusses impliziert, dass die Quelle tatsächlich ein potenzieller Neutrinostrahler und damit ein Beschleuniger für energiereiche kosmische Strahlen sein könnte. / The main aim of this thesis is to characterize extremely powerful sources that are most likely accelerating cosmic rays. Cosmic-ray sources are also believed to produce photons and neutrinos that act as direct tracers of their sources of origin. In this thesis VHE gamma-ray observations by the MAGIC telescopes were used to study the properties of blazars. To investigate the mechanisms giving rise to the broadband emission from blazars, a stationary lepto-hadronic code is developed using a simple semi-analytical framework. Hence along with the leptonic interactions, the code also implements the relevant hadronic interaction channels: proton synchrotron radiation, photo-meson interactions, proton-proton interactions and pair cascades. The thesis presents the results from theMAGIC and multi-wavelength monitoring campaign of the blazar 1ES 1959+650 during 2016. In 2016 the source underwent into an extremely active phase and exhibited three remarkably bright VHE gamma-ray flares on 13th June, 14th June and 1st July of 2016. On two of these nights, signs of rapid flux variability within sub-hour timescales was clearly resolved by the MAGIC observations. In order to investigate the broadband spectra of the source during the remarkable flaring activities, three different theoretical models were adopted: leptonic, hadronic and mixed lepto-hadronic. Both the hadronic and mixed leptohadronic models yielded neutrino fluxes during the intense activity period, that falls below the sensitivity of the current generation of neutrino telescopes. In 2017, the observation of a high-energy neutrino by IceCube in spatial and temporal coincidence with a flaring blazar named TXS 0506+056 yielded for the first time, hints towards identification of an extragalactic cosmic-ray source. The modelling of the electromagnetic data and the predicted neutrino flux implies that the source could indeed be a potential neutrino emitter and hence an accelerator of high-energy cosmic rays.

Le caricaturiste Robert La Palme a livré un portrait saisissant du Québec d'après-guerre, lui qui a mené une véritable croisade contre Maurice Duplessis et son régime. Dans le cadre de ce mémoire de maîtrise, nous nous proposons de retracer le parcours de Robert La Palme dans ses années au quotidien libéral Le Canada, où il travaille de 1943 à 1951, afin de comprendre le théâtre satirique qu'est son oeuvre caricaturisée selon deux forces qui s'opposent ou se complètent l'une l'autre: le contexte sociopolitique, qui inspire et dont s'abreuve le caricaturiste, d'une part, et l'engagement même de Robert La Palme, qui dirige et conduit sa plume, d'autre part. Nous verrons que le caricaturiste, par la disposition des acteurs qui prennent place dans son théâtre entre autres, a balisé en quelque sorte l'espace du pensable concernant le régime duplessiste.
