Fonologické schopnosti dětí s dyslalií v předškolním věku / Phonological abilities of children with dyslalia in preschool age

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of phonological abilities of children with dyslalia in preschool age. The main goal of the thesis lies therefore in the analysis of the phonological abilities of the stated target group. Based on the main goal, partial objectives and research questions were defined. A method of qualitative research strategy - a case study was used to fulfil the objectives of the thesis. To gather the data, test methods and analysis of the available documents were used. To create a comprehensive picture of the monitored children, the methods mentioned above were supplemented with an interview with a clinical speech therapist. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the definition of key terms such as communication, communication skills, as well as the development of speech, language and communication. In this chapter, attention is paid also to a preschool child. The second chapter describes the issue of phonological abilities, which are presented in the context of the phonetic- phonological language level. The last chapter looks into the issue of dyslalia. The empirical part is then devoted to the description of the whole process of the research survey....

The longitudinal trajectory and client-therapist agreement of personality traits over the course of therapy

<div> <div> <div> <p>Personality traits are important factors of psychotherapy for many reasons, as they relate to a variety of clinical outcomes, can complicate treatment, and can also be targets of treatment interventions. Because of its clinical prevalence and impact, it is imperative that therapists are able to effectively assess and treat personality pathology. Previous research has indicated that both client and therapist ratings of personality can provide meaningful information, and this varies across different sessions, but no study to date has examined both client and therapist ratings across the entire therapeutic intervention. There is also limited information on the agreement of client and therapist ratings of personality, as the majority of studies only examine the outset, the end, or a random time point of treatment. Examining only one point in time – or just the beginning and end – misses valuable information regarding possible changes in personality occurring throughout treatment. Using a naturalistic dataset of 128 client-therapist dyads (3,440 observations), the present study examined the longitudinal trajectory of client and therapist ratings of personality change throughout intervention while also accounting for state-level distress. Additionally, the agreement between clients and therapists were examined throughout treatment for any potential patterns of change using rank-order, mean-level, and absolute agreement. Significant patterns of trait change and change in absolute agreement across treatment were assessed using multilevel modeling. Last but not least, the agreement among clients and therapists were examined as potential predictors of therapeutic outcomes, such as engagement and improvement. The results provided evidence for significant decreases in neuroticism that were reported by the client but not therapist that suggest clients might be report decreases in state-level distress rather than true trait change. There were meaningful fluctuations in agreement across treatment, particularly for openness to experience and neuroticism, but the overall agreement – or lack thereof – did not significantly predict client engagement or improvement. Results highlight several clinical implications that are discussed. </p> </div> </div> </div>

Bakgrund: Fysisk aktivitet har visat sig ha en positiv effekt för både den psykiska och fysiska hälsan. Den kan minska psykiska problem som oro, stress och depression, samt fysiska åkommor som blodtryck, stroke och diabetes. Fysisk aktivitet är numera en allt mer vedertagen metod för att behandla fysiska och psykiska besvär. Individer med ADHD har vanligen problem med hyperaktivitet, impulsivitet, uppmärksamhet, sociala beteenden och kognitiva förmågor.Syfte: Att undersöka den vetenskapliga litteraturen för att få belägg för vilka effekter fysisk aktivitet kan ha för symptom hos individer med ADHD.Metod: I denna systematiska litteraturstudie återfanns via sökningar i databaserna PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Science Direct och PsycINFO artiklar som sedan granskades utifrån en bedömningsmall.Resultat: Fysisk aktivitet upplevdes ha en positiv effekt för hyperaktivitet och uppmärksamhetsproblem samt visade sig minska risken för sociala beteendeproblem hos individer diagnostiserade med ADHD. Vidare påvisades att oavsett regelbundenhet eller omfattning av fysisk aktivitet en positiv effekt för kognitiva förmågor hos individer diagnostiserade med ADHD.Konklusion: Den vetenskapliga litteraturen visar att fysisk aktivitet troligen har en positiv effekt för ett flertal symptom hos individer med ADHD. Dock krävs ytterligare forskning i ämnet. / Background: Physical activity has been shown to have a positive impact for both mental and physical health. It may reduce psychological problems such as anxiety, stress and depression, and physical issues like high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes. Physical activity is now an increasingly accepted method to treat physical and mental disorders. Individuals with ADHD usually have problems with hyperactivity, impulsivity, attention, social behavior and cognitive abilities.Aim: To investigate the scientific literature for evidence about the effect of physical activity on symptoms in individuals with ADHD.Method: In this systematic literature review articles where found through the databases PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Science Direct and PsycINFO witch was later surveyed based on an assessment template.Results: Physical activity was perceived to have a positive effect for hyperactivity and attention problems and appeared to reduce the risk of social behavior problems in individuals diagnosed with ADHD. Furthermore, it was shown that regardless of frequency or extent of physical activity a positive effect was shown on cognitive abilities in individuals diagnosed with ADHD.Conclusion: The scientific literature shows that physical activity is likely to have a positive effect for a variety of symptoms in individuals with ADHD. However, further research on the subject is required.

Neural Underpinnings of Temporal Processing in the Aging Auditory System

<p dir="ltr">Individuals with typical audiometric sensitivity exhibit varying speech perception abilities in noisy environments, which may decline with age. Temporal processing plays a pivotal role in speech perception, especially in challenging listening conditions. Auditory decline due to aging involves both peripheral pathology and central auditory system changes, impacting temporal processing. To delineate the contributions of these changes, measurements of within- and across-channel temporal processing were conducted in a wide age range of normal-hearing individuals. Robust perception of within-channel temporal cues requires precise coding at both peripheral and central auditory pathway levels, while cross-channel processing relies on central mechanisms. Comprehensive data collection involved behavioral and electrophysiological measures, revealing age-related increases in behavioral thresholds, less robust cortical responses to gaps and temporal-coherence changes, and declining SPIN performance. Cross-channel measures proved to be more predictive of speech perception outcomes, emphasizing the significance of central auditory changes in age-related perceptual deficits.</p><p dir="ltr">A mini-EEG cap to record cortical EEG auditory responses to gaps in chinchillas using a new sedation protocol was validated. This advancement enhances translational potential and paves the way for exploring cortical auditory processing using complex stimuli in animal models. By facilitating simultaneous exploration of both subcortical and cortical consequences of auditory system pathologies, this development contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of auditory processes across species.</p>

[pt] Este estudo tem como foco habilidades linguísticas de crianças pré-escolares no espectro autista. Os objetivos foram identificar e avaliar o tratamento dado à linguagem nas abordagens terapêuticas para o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) mais utilizadas na prática fonoaudiológica, em amostra coletada no Rio de Janeiro; e propor um instrumento de avaliação de habilidades linguísticas de préescolares com TEA, visando a rastrear dificuldades gramaticais no desempenho de tarefas de compreensão. O instrumento desenvolvido visa a avaliar aspectos sintáticos (sentenças simples variando quanto a transitividade e tempo/aspecto verbal; sentenças interrogativas e relativas, sentenças coordenadas), morfossintáticos (gênero e número gramatical) e pertinentes à interface sintaxesemântica (pronomes reflexivos e referenciais). Sentenças com reversibilidade temática são incluídas visando a dar seguimento à avaliação das crianças cujo desempenho não revelou dificuldades com sentenças irreversíveis. Metodologia psicolinguística que explora o direcionamento do olhar da criança foi adaptada para adequar as tarefas propostas ao ambiente terapêutico fonoaudiológico. Um estudopiloto conduzido com 12 crianças com TEA é relatado. 3 grupos foram caracterizados com base na produção linguística oral demonstrada em sessões clínicas - da mais desenvolvida (grupo 1) à menos desenvolvida (grupo 3). Os resultados são compatíveis com a literatura que distingue crianças no espectro autista como ALN (Language Normal) e ALI (Language Impaired). Dificuldades em todos os aspectos investigados foram identificadas nas crianças com baixa produção. Contudo, as crianças de todos os grupos revelam dificuldades na interface sintaxe-semântica e no número gramatical. Crianças do grupo intermediário apresentam maior dificuldade em sentenças complexas e sentenças reversíveis. / [en] This study focuses on the linguistic abilities of preschool children in the autistic spectrum. The objectives were to identify and evaluate the approaches to language in the most frequently used therapeutic approaches for ASD in the speech therapy practice, in a sample collected in Rio de Janeiro, and to propose an instrument to assess ADS children s language skills, by tracking specific difficulties in comprehension tasks. The instrument aims to evaluate syntactic structures (simple sentences varying in transitivity and tense/aspect of the verb; interrogative sentences; coordinate sentences; completive clauses; and relative clauses), morphosyntactic distinctions (gender and grammatical number) and aspects pertaining to the syntax-semantic interface (reflexive and referential pronouns), by avoiding the cost of thematic reversibility. In addition, reversible sentences were included to continue the evaluation of children whose performance on irreversible sentences did not present difficulties. A pilot study was developed with 12 autistic children. 3 groups were characterized based on their oral linguistic performance in speech therapy sections, from the less developed (group 1) to the most developed ones (group 3). The results are in line with the literature that distinguishes ALN (language normal) and ALI (language impaired) ASD children. Difficulties in all aspects investigated were identified in children with low production. However, children from all groups revealed difficulties in the syntax-semantic interface and in grammatical number. Children in the intermediate group had greater difficulty in complex sentences and reversible sentences.

The subject matter of the study is communicative features of children in preschool age with ASD. The object matter of the study is specificity of communicative skills development of children with ASD in preschool age. The final qualification work consists of an introduction, two chapters, conclusions, a list of references (55 sources) and an annex including the blank forms of the applied methods. The volume of the work is 128 pages, which include 9 figures and 16 tables. The introduction reveals the relevance of the chosen research problem, the level of development of the problematics; the objective and the tasks of the study are set, the subject matter and the scope of the research are determined, the basic and additional hypotheses are formulated, the methods and the empirical base are defined, as well as the stages of the research, its scientific novelty and practical significance of the work. The first chapter is devoted to the study of communicative skills development of children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) in preschool age and possibilities of correction by music therapy. Conclusions on the first chapter are the results of the study of theoretical material. The second chapter is devoted to the empirical part of the study. It includes a description of the organization and methods of the study, as well as the results obtained due to the applied methods: "Comprehensive assessing young Children" (O.G. Prikhodko), Diagnostics of children's understanding emotional states of the person. (Zabramnaya S.D., Borovik O.V.), "Psychological and pedagogical diagnostics of development of children of early and preschool age" (edited by E.A. Strebeleva), CARS Scale ( Childhood Autism Rating Scale). Also, the chapter presents a psycho-correctional program of communication skills development of children with ASD by music therapy. And a comparative and correlation analysis of the results of the study. The findings of Chapter 2 are the main results of the empirical study. In the conclusion, brief results of the theoretical and empirical parts of the work are presented, as well as conclusions on the hypotheses. The practical significance of the study is substantiated. / Объектом исследования явились коммуникативные особенности детей старшего дошкольного возраста с РАС. Предметом исследования стала специфика развития коммуникативных навыков детей с РАС старшего дошкольного возраста. Выпускная квалификационная работа состоит из введения, двух глав, заключения, списка литературы (55 источников) и приложения, включающего в себя бланки применяющихся методик. Объем работы 128 страниц, на которых размещены 9 рисунков и 16 таблиц. Во введении раскрывается актуальность проблемы исследования, разработанность проблематики, ставятся цель и задачи исследования, определяются объект и предмет исследования, формулируются основная и дополнительные гипотезы, указываются методы и эмпирическая база, а также этапы проведения исследования и практическая значимость работы. The aim of the study was to create and justify recommendations for differentiated development of speed abilities in young soccer players during in-depth specialization stage. We studied methods of estimation of speed abilities in soccer players, evaluated and analyzed speed abilities in young soccer players and elaborated recommendations on their differentiated development. Novelty of the idea is the separation of speed abilities into 9 manifestations for further development: speed of simple visual-motor reaction, speed of complex visual-motor reaction, speed of single movement, frequency of movement, speed of entire movement action, single explosive effort, start acceleration, distant speed (speed endurance), braking speed. Practical outcome is elaboration of set of exercise for differentiated development of speed abilities in young soccer players during in-depth specialization stage. Separate exercise complex was invented for each type of speed ability. These exercises may be used during the whole training process of soccer players. / Целью исследования является обоснование и разработка рекомендаций по дифференцированному развитию скоростных качеств у юных футболистов на этапе углубленной специализации. В результате исследования были изучены методики определения скоростных качеств у футболистов, проведена оценка скоростных качеств, анализ результатов и разработка рекомендаций по их дифференцированному развитию. Новизна исследования заключается в разделении скоростных качеств на девять проявлений для дифференцированного развития: скорость простой зрительно-моторной реакции, скорость сложной зрительно-моторной реакции, скорость одиночного движения, частота (темп) движений, скорость целостного двигательного действия, однократное проявление концентрированного взрывного усилия, стартовый разгон, дистанционная скорость (скоростная выносливость), скорость торможения (скорость остановки движения). Практическая значимость работы заключается в разработке комплекса упражнений с использованием различных средств и методов для дифференцированного развития скоростных качеств у футболистов на этапе углубленной специализации. Для каждого проявления скоростных качеств разработан свой комплекс упражнений. Данные упражнения можно использовать как в специальном микроцикле, направленном на развитие скоростных качеств, так и в повседневной тренировочной деятельности.

Объект исследования – процесс контроля за развитием скоростно-силовых способностей спортсменов различных половозрастных групп. Предмет исследования – возрастная динамика показателей Вингейт-теста спортсменов различного пола и возраста. Цель исследования – определить возрастную динамику показателей Вингейт-теста спортсменов различных половозрастных групп. В результате исследования были изучены особенности скоростно-силовых способностей и их значимость в спортивной деятельности, в результате проведенного тестирования выявлены нормативные показатели развития скоростно-силовых способностей спортсменов разного пола и возраста. Научная новизна исследования: впервые выявлены нормативные значения показателей Вингейт-теста и их динамика для разных половозрастных групп спортсменов: показатели МАМ, скоростной выносливости, а также время достижения пика мощности. Выявлены высокие и недостаточные значения показателей скоростно-силовых способностей для некоторых видов спорта. Практическая значимость работы: определены рекомендованные нормативные показатели Вингейт-теста для спортсменов разных половых и возрастных групп, а также высоких и недостаточных показателей скоростно-силовых способностей спортсменов разных видов спорта. / Study object – control of speed-power abilities of athletes of various age-gender groups. Study subject – age dynamics of Wingate test indicators in athletes of different age and gender. The aim of the proposed research was to determine age dynamics of Wingate-test indicators in athletes of different age-gender groups. Peculiarities of speed-power abilities were studied, as well as its significance in sports practice. We found the normal values of speed-power abilities development in athletes in reference to age and gender. Scientific value: norms of Wingate test parameters (peak power, speed-power endurance and time to peak power attainment) and their dynamics in age-gender groups were found. High and insufficient values of this parameters were determined for some kinds of sports. Practical value: we determined the recommended norms of Wingate test indicators for athletes of different age and gender groups, as well as high and insufficient values of speed-power abilities indicators for athletes from different kinds of sports.
