Profese vojenské zdravotní sestry z historického pohledu. / A historical view of the army nurse profession.

PAVLÍKOVÁ, Andrea January 2016 (has links)
The thesis deals with the profession of a military nurse. We can assert that the official study of military, non-medical health-care related qualifications and its use in practice not only for military purposes dates back to the fifties of the last century. However, women as health care professionals, consequently in uniforms, have always been an actual issue. The development of health care activities always existed, however, we must not neglect influence of scientific and medical findings. The historical timeline of development of medical care in the battle field was recorded and ranges from pre-historical healing. The way of Christian medicine was negatively influenced by the Catholic Church. The dark period of the Middle Ages had actually wrested medical performance from the hands of specialists and the suffering were left to the "tender" mercies of the priests. The following part of the thesis concerns modern medicine where enlightenment reforms were exercised. Some of the original six-month courses for military surgeons were organised in this period of time; they weretransformed into Military Surgical Academy, out of which the famous Josefinum originated. A expression of humanity which supported a form of health care of war veterans was demonstrated by constructing buildings for invalid people. The second half of the nineteenth century is characterized by the phenomenon of the presence of nuns in military hospitals. This study goes further in depth of professionally organized healthcare right in the battle field, which dates back from the era of wars in the Crimea. This stage describes the transformation of caring into nursing which requires the necessity of specialized preparation of persons providing nursing practice. In addition, Henry Dunant engraved himself into the history of the profession of a nurse, as the founder of the Red Cross, who first trained health care professionals for working within armed intentions of the state. The continuation of this action sketches out the process of providing first aid in principal armed conflicts of the twentieth century. It describes the functioning of commander operated military health service of that time. WWI drove Czech medical staff to both sides of the front where they provided medical help to the injured. Nurses of the WWII already performed their duties in uniforms as the rightful members of the army. The thesis also mentions post-war usage of military health care professionals in secret foreign missions and their specialized erudition.Last but not least, it marginally discusses contemporary possibilities of modern health care service of the Army of the Czech Republic. The goal of the endeavours of writing this thesis was to chart out clearly the development of the profession of a military nurse within the historical context, focusing mainly on women coming from Czech regions. In order to make the history background concerning specific female participants of the world war conflicts understandable to the reader, this paper reports, in broader extension, peculiar medical and nursing findings, already from the era of prehistoric civilisations. The history study method were applied for the purpose of the theoretical thesis. The methodology is based on searching, studying, sorting and the consecutive systematic objective describing of the events from the past times with the intention to propose comprehensive report on the subject given. It was necessary to study inexhaustible amount of sources to obtain awareness of historical connections. Factual information was derived by analysing of primary and mainly secondary documents. The thesis sketches out histories of military health care and the profession of a military health care professional stemmed from the exploration of appropriate written sources and conclusion of the basic findings. The intentions of the work are not only to clarify the past but also to contribute to solutions of every-day issues.

Prostředky Armády České republiky používané při radiační mimořádné události. / Equipment used by the Army of the Czech Republic during radiation emergencies.

ANTOŠKIN, Sergej January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the possibility of support of the integrated rescue system with assigned Army detachments. The theoretical part summarizes the transformation of the Ministry of Defence which had a major impact on the extent of the assistance provided. All rescue battalions were canceled and three engineer battalions and two separate rescue companies were created. Two rescue battalions were transformed into light motorized battalions and forwarded to the subordination of the Fourth and Seventh Mechanized Brigade. Organizational components of the ACR allocate a number of specialized teams for support intervening IRS. These include teams for ground and aerial radiation survey and decontamination detachments of people and technology, as well as some others, such as rescue detachment, detachment of transport humanitarian aid, a subunit of the earthwork, a subunit of the blasting and demolition, and more. Conditions requiring deployment of detachment vary according to the type of the assistance requested. They are primarily intended deployment Permanent Standby Force as planned assistance on request. This is the detachments in the central alarm plan and in accordance with the Act on the IRS ACR is required to provide such assistance. In providing assistance in dealing with radiological emergencies, ACR is equipped with a large number of devices, equipment and technologies. These are mainly radiometers, personal and group dosimeters. In the decontamination means is a habitat for decontamination of people and habitat for decontamination techniques LINE-82nd. The purpose of this thesis was to analyze whether the equipment ACR is still up-to-date with the times and that will be sufficient in comparison with similar Fire Rescue equipment. In the event of a radiation emergency is important to minimize the harmful effects of ionizing radiation on the population and the affected people. The lower limit of measurement was elected as the main comparing of the parameters measuring devices. In the case of decontamination of the equipment, attention was focused on the capacity of decontaminated people and technology. Carried out research revealed that earmarked detachments are equipped with measuring devices of varying ages and abilities. Some devices have been created at the time of the risk of nuclear war. This corresponds to their durable construction and a relatively high threshold, which is insufficient for the conditions solving a radiation accident in peaceful state. In addition, some of these instruments provide information and the measured value in the old, disused units, which can cause transmission of misleading information. Other devices are, however, modern, ergonomic, highly sensitive at low dose rate values, providing real-time information on the clear LCD display. Unique capabilities of the ACR give the possibility of performing aerial radiation survey, which greatly helps to keep the overview and assessment of future developments spread of radioactivity in the environment. The equipment ACR is quite outdated in the area of decontamination technology. Again, it originated at the time of the risk of nuclear war. The priority was a simple construction and operation, the ability of decontamination of large numbers of affected persons and equipment. However, there was practically no environmental solutions, separate showers for men and women and water consumption. On the other hand, the number of decontamination equipment of ACR virtually doubles the capacity of the firefighters equipment, which in terms of large accidental release of radioactive substances and decontaminated large number of people and technology is a distinct advantage. Overall, the Army units are able to qualitatively and quantitatively support the affecting IRS components and thus contribute significantly to dealing with radiological emergencies of any kind.

Construção do pensamento autoritário anticomunista no Exército brasileiro nas páginas da revista Nação Armada (1939-1947) / Construction of authoritarian and anti-communist thought in the brazilian Army in the pages of magazine Nation Army (1939-1947)

Ciro Marques Reis 18 January 2011 (has links)
Through analysis of the Armada Nation magazine, publication of a civil-military dedicated to National Security, published by the Brazilian Army between 1939 and 1947, this work aims to understand the process of building an authoritarian thinking, and anti-communist in the Brazilian Army this period, and measure the contribution of the magazine Nation Army this process. Using the Armada Nation as a guide, try to trace the ways of thinking men of that time, taking the same care to examine concepts such as authoritarianism. Methodologically, we adopted primarily a hermeneutic approach where all data related to publication of the Armada Nation (publishers, printing, format, authors, articles, etc..) Have been thoroughly collected and organized, and then we come to a heuristic approach, when we the internal criticism of the contents of the Armada Nation, analyzing the concepts and discourses more applicants. Authors such as Azevedo Amaral, Francisco Campos and Oliveira Vianna provided us with a vital framework for understanding an authoritarian ideology in Brazil in the first half of the twentieth century. Among the many ramifications that this work presented, because so rich and transformative period of national history and world, we adopt a hypothesis that goes to the main direction of an ongoing process of drafting anti-communist ideology and authoritarian in the Brazilian Army through symbolic constructions, and "invented traditions".

Our starting point considers the idea that the Brazilian Army seizes the "family" while native category which expresses the collective of the organization (the Military Family), prescribing relations to be modeled on solidarity and respect among its members (affections and moral duties that the military regard as “natural” behaviors of the family), which also extend to relations between their spouses/children and other military families, who perceive themselves as "relatives" in this universe (the physical proximity of these people within the villages - military sites - and the daily relations sharing would allow a family experience beyond consanguineous relationships). Through this, it is observed that the family is the object of constant care and it is sought to think the Army, on the one hand, doing and undoing familiarization through a system of standards and prescriptive behaviors (ideal model) which intervene in everyday relations of people who are part of this collective, and which aim to ensure the functioning of the military community as a family ruled by principles of hierarchy and discipline (structuring dimensions of the institution). On the other hand, the study explores, faced with this apparent uniformity of life in the barracks, how family members (especially the wives of officers and sergeants) think themselves in this system and also make and break family, stimulating a series of relationships within a conviviality in military towns, engaging in conflicts, gossiping and alliances. Throughout the thesis, therefore, we describe how both (institutions and individuals) flexibilize the family(ies), in order to produce other specific configurations of a military kinship.

Les officiers français : constitution et devenir de leurs collections africaines issues de la conquête coloniale / The french officers : constitution and future of their African objects collected during the colonial conquest

Banguiam Kodjalbaye, Olivier 19 May 2016 (has links)
This research concerns the French officers contribution during the colonization of Africa and the quality of the african objects that they collected. It aims to study the exploration and the conquest of Africa at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. During this period, European countries sent in the different parts of the continent many explorers to colonize the population. Those explorers had different social classes and jobs. Among them, there were, for example, religious persons, administrators and soldiers. It is the colonial action of the French officers in the different countries of Africa (Mali, Senegal, Congo, Chad, Central Africa Republic…) that is studing. During the exploration travel, the colonial officers discovered in those countries different kinds of objects. According of the instructions they received in France before their travel, they collected the local objects as the arms, the royal objects, the music objects, the cooking objects, the objects of the traditional ceremony. It’s interesting to study where the objects provided and the conditions of the collect. It’s a best way to know the particularities of the result of the officers discoveries. At the end of the journey in Africa, the officers brought to France the result of the collect and offered the objects to the French museums as the Musée de l’Homme, the Musée de l’Armée. Today, the Musée du Quai Branly is conserving the documents about the exploration travels of many officers (Archinard, Brazza, Marchand, Tilho, Lenfant…) and some of the objects they had collected for studying the customs of the African populations. We interroged about 1500 objects they had collected. The history of those objects is associated to the Africa colonization history. Nowadays, those objects constitute a colonial heritage and permit to analyze the European vision and the military perception about the African material culture and to know the degree of the civilization of the African populations who made and used those objects in Africa at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
