[en] A PLACE FOR ILLUSTRATION: UNDERSTANDING ACADEMIC BACKGROUND OF BRAZILIAN ILLUSTRATORS THROUGH INVOLVED ACTOR SPEECHES / [pt] UM LUGAR PARA A ILUSTRAÇÃO: ENTENDENDO O CENÁRIO DE FORMAÇÃO ACADÊMICA DO ILUSTRADOR BRASILEIRO ATRAVÉS DOS DISCURSOS DOS ATORES ENVOLVIDOS

MONICA LOPES NOGUEIRA 14 May 2020 (has links)
[en] Individuals who choose to become professional illustrators will probably go through several questions such as: which university to choos, which courses to take, which paths to follow. In Brazil, according to data presented in this research, there is not a consolidated university education offer specifically for academic training as an illustrator. However, even though there is no offer of this undergraduation, it was observed that most professional illustrators and future illustrators choose to pursue academic training, and Design is the most common choice for this audience. In order to understand the Brazilian scenario of academic education for the illustrators, besides the search for documents and bibliographical contents related to the area, questionnaires were conducted with professional illustrators and future illustrators from all regions of Brazil and interviews with university professors of the Design course. On the data collected from the speeches of these participants, it was used the analysis of content to find topics and interesting subjects about the area. These indications not only serve for a future construction of fundamentals for the study of illustration, as well as for building a first proposal for a course aimed at this audience, according to their own speeches. In addition, this thesis is also intended to draw the attention of researchers to the need for more research on this field and somehow help those who want to pursue the career of illustrator professionally.

Mathematical Modeling in Mathematical Education perspective has been pointed out on Basic Education scope, as a change about the in force educational practices, corresponding the most dynamic, attractive and establishment actions, related to Mathematics and daily routine from the students. Its insertion in the school’s context has caused in Mathematical Education community meaningful discussions and movements for this methodology take part in the spaces for teacher’s training or even that sets in a formative model. On this context, it is understood that practices with Mathematical Modeling, despite of being early, are present in childhood, pedagogue’s initial education, as educators of this cycle, also deserves attention and, that’s why it was implemented/encouraged the contact with Mathematical Modeling in Pedagogy graduation course, which the academics, established learning with/about Mathematical Modeling in outreach academics (outreach programs), researches and internship. From the academic’s experience emerged the following questioning: What does it show in discourse from academics, about Mathematical Modeling on initial academic education of pedagogues? This, therefore, admitted as research questioning was persecuted under phenomenological attitude, which was directed to theoretical studies about Mathematical Modeling in Education perspective, on academic education of pedagogues and Mathematics teaching and as main aspect of the research, understood the identification of discourses/perceptions of academics about Mathematical Modeling in its initial process. About the collected discourses, the interviews with audio recording were transcript and afterwards, treated with software aid named Atlas.ti in an interpretative phenomenological hermeneutics action that allowed the identification of 5 (five) categories: C1) Memories about Mathematics and its teaching presented from Mathematical Modeling; C2) Justifications for living, researching, and using Mathematical Modeling; C3) Assigned meanings to Mathematical Modeling; C4) Built knowledge or mobilized through Mathematical Modeling; and C5) Consequences and repercussions of practices with Mathematical Modeling. These, it is possible to interpret that Mathematical Modeling, forwarded by the conception and steps by Burak (1992; 2004; 2010), it is constituted in a methodology of academic education for pedagogues, childhood educators, that create opportunity for development of teacher knowledge, as research, reflection, dialogue, cooperation, specific content learning, on interdisciplinary approaching and, mainly the redetermination of teaching Mathematics and education practices in childhood.

Oliveira, Alessandra Silva de 07 November 2006 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-17T15:39:05Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 AlessandraSO.pdf: 468703 bytes, checksum: 8d980d6e99d5b52f3982fb70db6d2277 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-11-07 / This work deals with organizational support perception-OSP. This is done considering staff global beliefs, value of their contributions, care and well being related of individuals in an organization. These issues has been have been present in many researches since the 80s. It is important to analyze this matter considering all the changes that occurred nationally and internationally in the academic environment, characterized as being diversified in academic and managerial level. This occurs especially in Brazil since Federal Universities and their agents have suffered impact and restructuring. The research has emphasized the technical-managerial as well as professor staff level at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte aiming to deal with their unsatisfaction upon social political support. Thus, there was participation of 259 staff that were admitted from 2003 to 2005 in many sectors and units of the university. These subjects were submitted to a social and demographical query through an application of a scale of organizational support perception-OSP. Descriptive and multivariate analysis was done considering factors (management style of higher command), material support, wages, work overload, social support at work and ascending levels). Results show that there a hierarchy of the analyzed factors, the factor social support at work as being the first one with 3,31%, the factor management style of the higher command in second with 3,30%, then followed by the factor social support at work with 2,92%, in a sequence the factor material support, factor overload with 2,49% in the fourth position, and in the fifth place, the factor ascending with an average of 2,33% and in last the factor wages with 2,20%. It is concluded that the factors related to the more positive attributions of the OSP (social support at work), in a sequence material support opposing from the most negative factors of the OSP (wages, overload, ascending) reveal a reality that points out that the OSP is very much related to the individualized actions of the members of the organization (leader-member-group) rather than on structure and institutionalized actions carried out at UFRN / A percep??o de suporte organizacional designada como as cren?as globais dos indiv?duos de quanto ? organiza??o cuida do bem-estar deles e valoriza as suas contribui??es tem sido alvo de muitas pesquisas a partir dos anos 80, sendo importante inseri-la e compreend?-la ? luz de mudan?as atuais ocorridas no cen?rio nacional e internacional do contexto universit?rio bastante heterog?neo e diversificado do ponto de vista administrativo e acad?mico.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação - Firmino José Lira Rosas.pdf: 12763167 bytes, checksum: dada233ac25b0c865397bb23dd6d511f (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-08-24 / Não Informada / In recent years, the Federal Institutions of Higher Education (IFES) created several undergraduate courses through the university expansion programs, aiming to double the number of vacancies and ensure the permanence of students in higher education in Brazil. These courses can be viewed as a production system. By enrolling in the university, its students integrate the system and go through an entire training process towards the completion of the course, graduates when they come out properly. This makes it possible to design new undergraduate courses as a vast field of research to production engineering. In this context, this research aimed to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of a course in Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in one of the campuses of the Federal University of Amazonas, based on the assessment tool of the INEP / MEC and allusions to productivity. For this, we conducted this research from the perspective of qualitative ethnographic case study type, and participant observation, document analysis, structured interviews and research strategies and also the participation of leaders, teachers, administrative staff and students of the institution. Data collection was done in three stages: first, we proceeded with observations in the physical structure and notes in the notebook field, making up some pictures, on Monday became the analysis and selection of institutional documents, and third, the participants were interviewed, with interviews recorded and transcribed verbatim. Data were analyzed using content analysis, generating themes, categories and subcategories of analysis. The results revealed that this production system began to operate during the deployment of an academic unit's permanent UFAM this campus, which required much effort to ensure an adequate human and physical infrastructure to meet the needs of users. It was found that the teaching staff of pharmacists reduced at the beginning made it difficult to plan the structure of the laboratory course; the materials management was identified as one of the weaknesses of the system; the mechanism of self-assessment of UFAM offers no support to the unit managers in making decision. The relevance of social and motivational aspects were adopted to study the effectiveness of the course, considering the contributions that can be given to health from a human framework willing to collaborate with internal processes.

The specific objectives were: Verify whether the Core Curriculum of the Undergraduation courses under study meet the propositions of the Curricular Guidelines in relation to the environmental issue; Analyze the Analytical Programs of the disciplines in the Core Curriculum of each course under study in order to identify contents related to the environmental issue; Compare with the Core Curriculums of the courses at the UFRRJ considering environmental education; Determine how concerned students are about the environment. This investigation was carried out Descriptively, by means of Documenting and using Field Research. This study provides a qualitative and quantitative analysis of students? education taking into consideration the aspects that involve the environmental dimension. The methods that were used are the following: Quantitative, Qualitative and Comparative. In a total of 682 seniors registered in the courses where the survey was carried out, 404 filled out a form. We found out that students from all the courses were deeply concerned about the environment. And also that the introduction of the environmental issue in the Core Curriculum, with an interdisciplinary focus, requires a theoretical and methodological reform of the academic structure. The interviewees had a tendency to consider: environmental education deficient in Administration, Economics and History, fair in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engineering, Zoo Technology and Domestic Economics and good only in Forest Engineering. The development of a model for continuing professional development for professional nurses in South Africa

Arunachallam, Sathasivan January 2009 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / Comparative analysis of the CPD systems internationally and nationally revealed that CPD is mandatory for some whilst for other countries it is compulsory, but not mandatory for licensing purposes. Licensing occurs on a yearly basis, but CPD recognition is accredited over a time period with expiry deadlines and minimum requirements. A portfolio was a common method of recording and proof of evidence for CPD, and a continuous theme was that CPD is needed to ensure competency. The Nursing Act 33 of 2005 makes provision for CPD for nurses but to date the South African Nursing Council has not yet decided on a model of CPD for implementation for SA nurses. / South Africa

Ombytliga kvinnor : Kvinnors karriärbyten via akademiska studier / Re-educated women : Women´s changes of career through academic studies.

Young Kasperi, Martina, Mäkelä, Annette January 2012 (has links)
The study aims to investigate the reasons underlying women's career changes through academic studies. We try to give a new perspective on women’s career choice processes in social science research. Both a quantitative and a qualitative method were used in order to answer our research questions. The two methods complement and reinforce each other while providing a more nuanced picture of the problem area. The quantitative method consisting of a questionnaire addressed a number of selected female students at StockholmUniversity. The qualitative study is based on interviews with six respondents selected from the survey. Processing and analysis are based on the results from the survey and the individual interviews with the support of appropriate career choice methods and theories. The results show that the causes of women's career changes are the turning points of either a volunteer or forced character. Women's action horizon, the turnings points and routines are influenced by their habitus, previous experiences and were they are in life. Our conclusion is that women's educational and career choices primarily are an interest and a career strategy as well an effort to increase the quality of life.
