Genèse et destin : pour une conception dynamogénique des mythes / Genesis and destiny : for a dynamogenic’s conception of the myths

Viallet-Fournier, Marie-George 10 December 2012 (has links)
If the myth has become today an unavoidable fact to understand the human soul and its different forms of expression, it remains, however, ambiguous and hardly conceptualizing. Indeed, the myth is at once understood as a fictitious narrative which isn’t based on any in-depth reality, but also as a real and highly significant discourse. In order to underline the philosophical meaning of our work, we have begun by assert the myth problem such as it evolves in the European thought. The myth is badly affected by a too long history; it has been divided between rationalism and romanticism. Then, we have questioned other civilizations – Fon from Dahomey, Benin – for whose myth represents all the human being must know and understand to become established in existing. They show us an authentic myth, alive, indivisible from a magical-religious body language. Thus, the real meaning of myth is not in our books, in Homere or Hésiode, but in the real life of humans. It is, first of all, evolved by the original societies, by human groups which lived for it and by it, before being written, classified, interpreted and re-interpreted. It would seem, in this regard, that Gaston Bachelard, at once poet and epistemologist, took interest in myth. He reveals us an original reflection, free and open which gives us another image. He asserts the problem of the myth itself, at the heart of writing and, as a rich reader, he lays the basis of a new myth-analysis. The understanding of the myth seems for u unavoidable today because our civilization has cut off, irreparably, between the information brought by images and those brought by the writing systems. This fracture is, no doubt, the reason of this serious spiritual crisis we pass on. The myth seems, in this regard, salutary: it renews us directly towards the great principles of the creation, creation of the world or poetic creation, it re-enchants the world.

L’imaginaire et l’élément de l’eau dans le texte baroque (1580-1640) : Structures, motifs, rôles et valeurs / The imaginary and the element of water in the baroque text (1580-1640) : Structures, patterns, roles and values

Al Ali, Salam 06 October 2017 (has links)
The imbalance and the chaos in which Baroque man lived, changed his vision of his entourage and at the same time they excluded the gratuitousness of his actions. His fascinations are messages to be deciphered, his rejections and attachments represent revealing clues and testimonials. Our study tries to explain the reasons of the fascination of the baroque generation for the liquid element through the examination of the imaginary of its aspects in the baroque work. The imaginary or what Gilbert Durand calls "thought capital" of man is a hybrid organism, several factors participate in its structuring therefore its examination requires an interdisciplinary approach. Through cognitive science, that represent the future of research on the imagination according to Philippe Walter, this study tries to illuminate the Baroque Imagination through the examination of the value the element of water in the works published between 1580 and 1640. Our work uses four of the six cognitive sciences which are designated by Georges A. Miller and which establish interdisciplinary fields through their correlations. To explore the representations of this element with the Anthropology, philosophy, psychology, and linguistics are indispensable to the objective of offering them causal explanations. The baroque imagination is reconstituted in our work by combining these sciences with the disciplines of the history of art, literary criticism, folklore, ethnology, mythology, sociology, and the history of religions. Our work examines one of the aspects of nature in the baroque work. Through our analyzes we try to trace the being and the existence of baroque man through the manifestations of one of their components in the work of the latter. The element of water which is this component and it represents one of the aspects of nature. The problematic in our work is composed of a component that deals with the value of the element of water in the baroque work. The second part aims to prove that the 7 examination of the imaginary represents a tool that helps to identify the reliefs of a baroque text and a text with a similar structure with the latter, that is to say an incoherent structure and complex. Our research proposes a reading for the imaginary of the material in the literary text. Our study would like to demonstrate that distant and interactive examination of human acts and his works serves to identify their explanations; and that the examination of the imaginary of a work which represents an act of the imaginary of man serves to identify its implicit and the reasons for its creation, and the psychology that dominated the circumstances of its production.

Machado, Susete Francieli Ribeiro January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this Masters dissertation is to present results and reflections obtained from research that involved the interrelation between the History and the Epistemology of Science. The main objectives of this theoretical investigation were the following: the construction of an epistemological convergence between the ideas and advocacies of philosophers Gaston Bachelard and Imre Lakatos, in addition to the construction of Science episodes discussed mostly under such historical-philosophical viewpoints. The research is from a qualitative approach and regarding the objectives is inserted as descriptive-reflexive. The investigation started through further theoretical development involving the specifics of each epistemology with the objective of clarifying the understanding related to the structural points from each epistemological viewpoint. As to the process of construction of the Science episodes, a bibliographical ascertainment was made covering mainly books and scientific articles that dealt with the respective issue of the episode, seeking for source diversity to serve as the foundation for this writing process with the intent of valuing a comprehensive viewpoint of Science History. In general, the construction of the epistemological convergence was founded on where both epistemological share in common, namely the advocacy of Science History itself by a dynamic, evolving epistemological nature (pertaining to the mutability of scientific knowledge), normative viewpoint, dialectic essence, and an objective rational character. This way, an exploration of the theoretical relations was sought that involved the historical-philosophical viewpoints of both epistemologists for writing the episodes. The first Science episode is aimed at presenting and reflecting upon two conflicting scientific programs in Science History, the phlogistic and caloric programs, that were a timely marker of the pre-scientific period in Chemistry and the birth of the theoretical bases for modern Chemistry. The aims of the second Science episode is to present the main conceptions of matter developed by the Greeks in Antiquity. The Science episodes produced by this research value a historical-philosophical viewpoint of Science from the above mentioned convergence, and also allowed for an understanding of the history of scientific thought by a conjectural nature (naturally fallible) and in a constant state of evolution. This way, it is advocated that Lakatos' and Bachelard's epistemologies are of great value to the scientific didactic field by enhancing contemporary epistemological conceptions and advocate that Science be open and in a permanent state of becoming. Furthermore, the Science episodes may serve as significant didactic tools for approaching scientific themes elucidated by viewpoints the include discussions pertaining the historical-philosophical essence of the scientific thought within a teaching context. Based on its final results, this research brings to evidence the need to pursue valuing the qualification of Science History as an important core when discussing scientific contents in the didactic field, as well as enhancing a further distancing in relation go conceptions founded within the teaching context that remit to traditional epistemology.

This study aims to sustain the dialogue between the epistemology of the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard and some elements found in the hermeneutic tradition. The purpose of dialogue is born from the need for a reading key to better take account of the complex contemporary realities. The philosophical hermeneutics – as theory of knowledge guided by history – has been trying to assert themselves over the past decades as one that would be better this reading. Being the sciences one of the main constituents of this modern reality, it is therefore required a more open dialogue between hermeneutics and epistemology, since, until then, the relationship between them has been given limited and even problematically. The epistemological work of Bachelard emerges as a possible support of dialogue, to the extent that, in some of its elements, appears much like hermeneutic bias, although they left from different bases and interests. Soon, not attempts here a simple framing of the thought of Bachelard in hermeneutic tradition, but to seek a support in bachelardian as epistemological categories for the effective resumption of dialogue with hermeneutics, in the search for a consistent reading of contemporary reality.

The phenomenology of Gaston Bachelard holds that readers, or viewers, relate to spatial imagery through the use of age-old archetypes. These archetypes form a collective image-memory that is employed when reading space. One such image is the house. The house for Bachelard is, however, never solely an image, but constitutes a familiar space that becomes inscribed in our bodies through the repeated physical contact with this domestic space. The house teaches us to interact with space, and comes to inform the way that human beings understand images of space. Spatial imagery can be conceptualized both as embodied, lived experience and as semiotic sign. The aim is to investigate the idea of a collective image-base, and in what way the universality of these images relates to the individual conditions of each meeting with images of space. The object of study here is also to survey the ways that images of space transgress the borders between bodily experience and abstract sign, between the individually specific and the universal, as well as between actual space and represented space.
