Previous issue date: 2014-11-25 / Fundo Mackenzie de Pesquisa / The intellectual restlessness that has motivated this survey has set itself for defining the person enclosed within himself, clarifying the very beginning, developing his paths as a product and producer of the reasoning crisis and barbarity as well. The temporal cut has its beginning in the Renaissance, historical period in which the individual himself reaches a higher level of emancipation and human value (overvalued individuality) indeed. On that specific historical context, the collectiveness is relinquished, turning to individualism. The temporal cut of this thesis points specifically to the construction problem of the person enclosed within himself and his meeting with Brazilian contemporary society, involving with different social groups and their collective aims. It has been seen and approached that when someone is involved with social groups, the individualism of the person enclosed within himself is disclosed, egoistically carrying out his deeds on behalf of himself. The subject enclosed within himself began focusing on himself the totality of all things, from all to everything, enclosing himself. Therefore, this thesis holds the assumption that contemporary barbarity has its thresholds through new ways of individualism with the birth of the person enclosed inside himself.

semi-structured interviews. The final considerations seek to reflect on the theoretical and
empirical notes collected during the research and propose possible pathways for
the development of the autonomy of the university professor. The supporting authors of this
research are primarily Theodor Adorno and Paulo Freire, and secondarily, Michael Apple,

Previous issue date: 2015-03-13 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / Since the dawn of the Greek ascension, the barbarian figure retraces back to ancient times in the
Western imagination. Consecutively, over the centuries and until present days, the idea of
barbarism figures amid the social language, being associated with different meanings in each event
and context. Recognizing the range of possible theoretical analyses, we chose to focus on
barbarism as a denial mechanism of alterity, such as indifference and intolerance, and that it comes
out with acts of discrimination and violence. We found great help in the ‘Critical Theory’ to build
this concept of barbarism, especially with the contribution of Theodor Adorno, Walter Benjamin
and Axel Honneth. Adorno’s view particularly leads us to seek in education a way to confront
these denial mechanisms as an attempt to provide a society where justice, equality and valorization
of diversity prevail. However, Adorno points out that only an education for the emancipation of its
individuals supported by human rights, could achieve that. Thus, we seek in laws, plans, principles
and researches on the Brazilian education, elements that could show us if our current education
system has acted in order to perpetuate intolerance and oppression in our society, or if it has been
directed towards this emancipation formation, getting through the critical formation and awareness
of their individual about human rights, reversing the mechanisms that lead to barbarism.
acontecimento e contexto.

An eternal object of debate, French advertising, as a social mirror, also strengthens our social cohesion. An examination of its linguistic element, the slogan, can bring to sociology a lot. Within the prospect of a linguistic sociality and under the shape of a language play, its linguistic dynamics shows itself as a new semi-conscious demonstration of a desire to break rules and to be together. Its style and climate reflect finally baroquism and hedonism as the age atmosphere. It seems urgent for sociology not to disdain any more advertising : few social phenomena are so revealing to tell the spirit of the time.

De Buenos Aires a Misiones: civilização e bárbarie nos relatos de viagens realizadas à terra do mate (1882 - 1898) / From Buenos Aires to Misiones civilization and barbarism in the travel reports made to kill the earth (1882-1898)Aranha, Bruno Pereira de Lima 08 May 2014 (has links)
This research is a proposal for analysis of reports made by travelers that, starting in common region - Buenos Aires - went to Misiones, in northeastern Argentina, and published texts on the region between 1882 and 1898.Through these reports, we have the intention to develop a greater understanding of the vision that the authors had about Misiones. One of the guiding points of this work is the transposition of the opposition center versus periphery to a new space: the american. That is, the opposition used to oppose Europe, the \"center of the civilized world\" in relation to America; it would be a place that still \"lacked civilization\", whichis transported to this new space. From then, within Argentina itself, we have a center (Buenos Aires) and a periphery (here represented by Misiones). In this new space, this dichotomy suffered appropriations and recreations which are analyzed in the course of this work.

O mundo interligado: poder, guerra e território nas lutas na Argentina e na Nova Zelândia (1826-1885) / Connected worlds: political power, war and territory in the struggles in Argentina and New Zealand (1826-1885)Passetti, Gabriel 01 September 2010 (has links)
JS Mill and liberal imperialism: the architecture of a democratization theoremSmith, Timothy Eric 06 September 2007 (has links)
This thesis is on John Stuart Mill’s imperialism. Mill’s classic text Considerations on Representative Government is framed as a treatise of a theorem for guiding “civilized” governors in imperially democratizing “non-civilized others” for the ends of historically moving humanity towards “civilizational progress.” This theorem is broken down into an architecture which consists of the first four chapters of Considerations and a conceptual architecture consisting of three notions: imperialism, democracy, and good governance. In outlining this theorem, gaps and shortcomings currently existing in the body of literature that engages Mill’s relationship with imperialism are identified. The theorem and the secondary literature are also used to problematize and argue against the call by some authors for a turn to Mill’s imperialism.

A reflexão feita aponta para a necessidade de um posicionamento ético de pais e educadores no que diz respeito às sugestões feitas pelos livros de orientação estudados / Start from a study of the discourse observed in books dedicated to parents supervision, best-sellers, published in Brazil between 2001-2006, the author of this paper produced a critique reflection about the both relationed conceptions of education and barbarism, into the perspective of the Critic Theory (of the Frankfurt School) .
