S?ndrome de Burnout : um estudo com guias de turismo regional em Natal-RN

It is considered a multifactorial construct, which is commonly characterized by three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, dehumanization, and lack of personal accomplishment.This study aimed to verify if the three characteristics of burnout (exhaustion, lack of dehumanization and personal accomplishment) are present in people working as guides Tourism in Natal - RN. It is a descriptive and quantitative study. 109 subjects were surveyed. Data collection was done through the use of questionnaires, the instrument used was the characterization of the Burnout Scale (ECB) created and validated in Brazil by Trocoli and Tamayo (2000). In order to analyze data we used descriptive statistics, analysis of core measures, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, multiple discriminant and Spearman correlation. Factor analysis identified four factors that explain 58.3% of the total variance. Those factors were named exhaustion, deception, avoidance, and dehumanization. The reliability of the instrument, as measured by Cronbach's Alpha was 0.918, which is considered excellent reliability. The 109 subjects were grouped into three cluster, which had the deception, avoidance, and dehumanization as discriminant. It is possible to conclude that the characteristics of burnout syndrome are present in the studied population where 19 people are on the high level of burnout, moderate in 32 and 56 in the light. The correlations between socio-demographic variables studied and the dimensions of burnout, were few and weak. The variable leave for health reasons in the study appeared to be related to feelings of exhaustion and avoidance behavior appeared related to younger individuals and who work only in the activity of Receptive Tourism Guide. Mental hygiene is the discipline that deals with developing and maintaining mental healt and preventing mental disorders and illnesses. It is a system of scientifically elaborated measures and instructions that help maintain, improve and restore mental health. Assistant branches and sciences are generally and undoubtedlly regarded as very demanding. The staff must meet high demands and be ready at all times to help others sort out their problems and difficult life situation. To keep their mental balance, these staff members should follow the principles of mental hygiene. The target of the diploma thesis at hand is to find out how an assistant employee subjectively assesses his or her workload and if they know how to tackle it. The thesis also aims at exploring particular measures of mental hygiene through which the staff cope with the workload arising from thein work. Before the survey was carried out, three hypotheses were formulated: H1: The employees in assistant positions in facilities providing social services in Pelhřimov region are aware of the degree of their workload, H2: The employees in assistant positions are informed about how to deal with workload, H3: The employees in assistant positions eliminate the workload through active and passive elements of mental hygiene. To complete the research part of the thesis, the quantitative survey employed questioning as the method of data collection using questionnaires as the technique. The survey was carried out in all 16 facilities providing social services in Pehřimov region. The research sample consisted of 224 employees in assistant positions in the said facilities. The research confirmed all formulated hypotheses. The research result can be made available to managements of facilities providing social services in order to serve as a stimulus for finding a more active approach to solving the issue at hand. Furthermore, the thesis might serve as a source of important data related to mental hygiene that may be distributed to all staff in assistant positions as well as to those who are interested in this topic.

Produção de sentido na prática profissional de auxiliares e técnicos de enfermagem / The meaning of work in professional practice of nursing assistants

O objetivo da pesquisa foi compreender como os auxiliares e técnicos produzem sentidos sobre seu trabalho e sua vida. Entendendo que experiências de sofrimento emocional e transtornos psicossociais podem intervir na produção de sentido, este trabalho investigou também a qualidade de vida no trabalho e a existência de burnout. Foi utilizado o método quantitativo e qualitativo. Os instrumentos utilizados foram o Inventário de Burnout de Maslach para profissionais de saúde (MBI-HSS), a escala BPSO-96 e um protocolo de entrevista semidirigida. A pesquisa foi realizada no Hospital Universitário da Universidade de São Paulo, as escalas foram aplicadas a 166 profissionais de saúde, dentre técnicos, auxiliares e outros profissionais do hospital e foram entrevistados 20 destes participantes. As escalas foram analisadas estatisticamente tanto na amostra inteira quanto segmentada em dois grupos, um de auxiliares e técnicos de enfermagem e um grupo de outros profissionais para verificar se os fenômenos observados no primeiro grupo são específicos dessa categoria profissional. As entrevistas foram categorizadas e analisadas. Os resultados apontaram alto nível de despersonalização, médio de exaustão, baixa realização pessoal.e nível médio de satisfação com a Qualidade de Vida no Trabalho, não havendo diferença estatística significativa entre os dois grupos. O momento de crise política vivenciado pelo hospital durante a coleta de dados pode ter interferido nos resultados, uma vez que as entrevistas semidirigidas revelaram insegurança, luto pela perda do hospital idealizado e insegurança quanto ao seu futuro profissional. Quanto aos sentidos produzidos, os profissionais entendem que sua prática é imprescindível para o tratamento médico, percebem-se como elo essencial entre paciente e equipe multidisciplinar e referem reconhecimento social pela atuação na área da saúde. Os auxiliares e técnicos de enfermagem revelaram ainda satisfação pelo ato de cuidar, tendo na recuperação dos pacientes e seu reconhecimento e gratidão, importante fonte de produção de sentido da prática profissional / The objective of the research was comprehending how they give meaning to their work and life. Seeing that experiences of emotional suffering and psychosocial disorders may interfere in the meaning of work, this research has also looked into the quality of work life and the existence of burnout syndrome. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used. The research instruments applied were Maslach Burnout Inventory- Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS), the BPSO-96 scale and a guide of semi structured interviews. The research was carried out at the University Hospital in São Paulo, the scales were applied to 166 health professionals, among assistants and other health professionals. 20 participants were interviewed. The scales were statically analyzed on the whole and segmented samples in two groups, one with nursing assistants and other one with other professionals, so both results were compared. The interviews were categorized and analyzed. The results have shown a high level of depersonalization, a medium level of exhaustion, a low level of personal fulfillment and a medium level of satisfaction with the quality of work life, there has not been a representative statistical difference between the two groups. The hospital was going through a political crisis during the data collection which may have interfered in the results, once the semi structured interviews have revealed insecurity, mourning over the loss of the idealized hospital and feeling of uncertainty towards their professional future. With regard to the meaning of work, the professionals understand that their practice is indispensable for medical treatments. They see themselves as a necessary link between patients and multidisciplinary teams. They also mention social recognition for the work in the health area and satisfaction when taking care of patients, seeing their recovery and gratitude as an important source of meaning in the professional practice

It focuses on the analysis of the effects of the reorganization of work on teachers' performance and its relation to health / disease profile perceived by the teachers. This is to identify the perceptions of teachers about their work and its scarcity. It is discussed in this research which labor and organizational factors are facilitators of illness during the teacher s job and what is the relationship between the health / disease profile perceived by those with burnout syndrome. We report the conceptions of the teachers from the centers about the process of school inclusion in Sao Luis Ma. The choice of the two centers was due to the proximity of the proposed teaching and students who have intellectual disabilities in common. The theoretical support was sought in Antunes (1999) Chauí (1999) Paro (2006) Frigotto (2010) Tardif (2011) Ciavatta (2009) Minayo (2002) Dejours (1992) Esteve (1999) Barros (2003) Foucault (2007) Lancman (2004) Codo (2006) Caiado (2011) Bueno (1999). It is a quantitative qualitative research. Subject involved: teachers. Pattern was 25% of the population of each Center. The instruments used in the research were: bibliographical research, document analysis, semi-structured interview and a generic questionnaire validated by assessment of quality of life: "Medical Outcomes Study Short-Form 36 Helth Survey (SF-36)." To analyze the interviews was brought up the theoretical support of the research. The questionnaire data had also statistical analysis and was treated and analyzed in comparison with the interviews. We conclude that the reorganization of work with its reflections on teaching work promoted by the demands of the current phase of the operating capitalism at that time could not directly affect the health of the teachers of the Learning Centers of Special Education in Maranhão. The requirements were clearer when the regulations of Law 9394/96 and other laws on special education were presented to normalize this type of education. According to the perception of the teachers from the Centers about conditions of teaching there is recognition of the lack of better conditions to accomplish the teaching work and the majority does not identify it as precarious and neither relate it to the state of health / disease even understanding that this relationship can exist. For the health / disease profile perceived by them we can say that the results of the two centers (SF - 36) are similar only in the mental health aspect with high scores and less variations. In other aspects were found median scores and/ or very different variations. The emotional aspect was the responsible for the worst rates. It appears that low scores on emotional aspect found by (SF - 36) are justified by identifying characteristics of teachers and their working relationships. It is estimated that the health / disease profile of teachers perceived by them has no relation with the characteristics of burnout syndrome. The health of the teachers who were is very well. About the process of school inclusion teachers assess it in Maranhão in the two centers: among the 16 teachers that were surveyed 11 reported that they do not believe in school inclusion the way it is happening in schools analyzing school inclusion in Maranhão as inefficient. / Trabalho docente/saúde autopercebida das professoras dos Centros de Ensino de Educação Especial do Maranhão. Enfoca-se a análise dos reflexos da reorganização do trabalho no trabalho docente e sua relação com o perfil saúde/doença autopercebida das professoras. Trata-se a identificação da percepção das professoras sobre trabalho e sua precarização. Discute-se a investigação de quais fatores organizacionais e laborais são facilitadores de adoecimento na função docente e que relação existe entre o perfil saúde/doença autopercebida das professoras com a síndrome de burnout. Relata-se a concepção das professoras dos centros especializados sobre o processo de inclusão escolar no ensino regular no Maranhão. A escolha dos dois Centros foi devida à proximidade das propostas pedagógicas e do alunado que em comum apresenta deficiência intelectual. Sujeitos: professoras. Amostra foi de 25% da população de cada Centro. Os Instrumentos investigativos: pesquisa bibliográfica, análise documental, entrevista semiestruturada e um questionário genérico de avaliação validada da qualidade de vida: Medical Outcomes Study 36 Short-Form Helth Survey (SF 36) . Os dados do questionário tiveram tratamento estatístico e foram analisados comparativamente com as entrevistas. Conclui-se que a reorganização do trabalho com seus reflexos no trabalho docente promovida pelas exigências da atual fase de um capitalismo operante não conseguiu nesse momento, afetar diretamente a saúde das professoras dos Centros de Ensino de Educação Especial do Maranhão. As exigências mais claras se fizeram presentes quando da regulamentação da Lei 9394/96 e de outros dispositivos legais sobre a educação especial normatizando e apontando caminhos para essa modalidade de ensino. Pela percepção das professoras dos Centros sobre as condições do trabalho docente há reconhecimento da falta de melhores condições para a realização do trabalho docente e a maioria não o identifica como precário nem o relacionam ao estado de saúde/doença em que se encontram, mesmo entendendo que essa relação possa existir. Pelo perfil saúde/doença autopercebida das docentes pode-se dizer que os dois Centros, pelos resultados do (SF - 36), se assemelham apenas no aspecto saúde mental com altos escores e menos variações. Nos demais aspectos foram encontrados escores medianos e ou variações muito diferentes. O aspecto emocional foi o responsável dos piores índices. Constata-se que os baixos escores obtidos no aspecto emocional encontrado pelo (SF 36) se justificam pelas características de identificação das docentes e de suas relações de trabalho. Avalia-se que o perfil saúde/doença autopercebida das docentes não tem relações com as características da síndrome de burnout. A saúde das docentes pesquisadas vai bem. Sobre o processo de inclusão escolar como as professoras o avaliam no Maranhão nos dois Centros das 16 professoras pesquisadas, 11 analisaram-no como não eficiente referindo não acreditarem na inclusão escolar da forma que está acontecendo nas escolas.

The diploma thesis is focused on the psychological burden in the profession of a teacher of economic branches. The aim is to examine the issue of psychological stress of teachers, to compare the main stress causes of high school and college teachers and to find out which psycho-hygienic methods are most effective for coping with psychological stress. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the psychological burden of teachers, the definition of the main stressors, the stress of the teachers, and the selected techniques of psycho-hygieny. Based on a survey in the empirical part, we compare the causes of psychological stress of high school and college teachers of economic fields, identify the largest sources of stress and compare the effectiveness of psycho-hygienic methods. At the end of this work is an assessment of the current situation and recommendations to the teachers of economic.

Burnout en profesionales de establecimientos de salud del primer nivel de atención de Lima Metropolitana

Se presenta un trabajo de investigación sobre el Síndrome de Burnout y su presencia en profesionales de la salud de Policlínicos de Lima metropolitana. Los motivos que impulsan la realización de este estudio parten de la preocupación sobre el incremento del número de personas que presentan el síndrome y la poca investigación realizada en el área de la salud que se pueda aplicar al contexto peruano. Esta investigación se centró en hallar y describir los niveles del síndrome de Burnout en una muestra de 85 médicos y 41 enfermeras, los cuales fueron evaluados con el Inventario de Burnout de Maslach adaptado al contexto peruano por Victoria Llaja en el año 2007. La investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo y un alcance de tipo descriptivo comparativo. La muestra fue seleccionada de manera no probabilística por conveniencia. Además de hallar los niveles de Burnout en los participantes, se realizaron comparaciones entre las tres escalas del Burnout, (Agotamiento Emocional, Despersonalización, Reducida Realización Personal) según sexo, profesión, años de servicio, y horas de trabajo semanales. Los resultados comprueban la presencia del síndrome en la muestra estudiada y justifican la necesidad de intervenir en estos profesionales, a través de estrategias que les permitan afrontar las demandas que exigen sus profesiones, y de efectuar mejoras en las instituciones de salud. / The present research is about the burnout´s syndrome and its presence in health professionals in metropolitan Lima Polyclinics. The reasons that drive this study are based on concerns about the increasing number of people with the syndrome and the limited research in the health area that can be applied to peruvian context. This research focused on finding and describing levels of Burnout´s syndrome in a sample of 85 doctors and 41 nurses, who were assessed with the Maslach Burnout Inventory adapted to peruvian context by Victoria Llaja in 2007. The research is descriptive comparative and has a quantitative approach. The sample was selected on a non-probabilistic way and by convenience. Besides finding Burnout levels in participants, comparisons were made between the three scales of Burnout, (Emotional Weariness, Selflessness, Reduction of the personal Accomplishment) based on gender, profession, years of service and hours of work per week. The results prove the presence of the syndrome in the study sample and justify the need to intervene in these professionals, providing them with strategies to face with the demands required by their professions and for improvements in health institutions. / Tesis

Syndrom vyhoření u příslušníků Hasičského záchranného sboru České republiky / The Burnout syndrome among members of the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic

This theoretical-empirical thesis discusses an issue of burnout among members of Fire Rescue Service of the Czech republic. The focus of theoretical part is given to the burnout syndrome, it's definition, risk factors, possible causes, it's gradual phases and diagnostic and measuring methods of the burnout syndrome. Further, the theses deals with possibilities of treatment of a burnout and preventive actions that could be taken on both sites of each employee and the organization. This is followed by a closer acquaintance of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech republic, it's history, mission and basic competences. Afterwards, a profession of professional firefighter is described. Possible causes and preventive measures against the burnout syndrome at the Fire Brigade are examined. In the empirical part of this thesis the burnout syndrome among members of Fire Rescue Service of the Czech republic is investigated through questionnaires and personal interviews. At this point the thesis focuses on outbound firefighters and operational technicians with the aim to detect possible differences in incidences between those two groups and possible causes of the burnout syndrome among them. Further the aim is to assess the efficiency of the Psychological Services of the Fire Brigade and its preventive measures taken against work-related stress and burnout.

Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever a relação entre a percepção do Clima Organizacional, com a Síndrome de Burnout e conhecer as Estratégias de Enfrentamento no trabalho em funcionários de Instituto de Pesquisas do Vale do Paraíba Paulista. O estudo foi realizado por meio de pesquisa descritiva, com delineamento de levantamento de dados e com abordagem quantitativa. A amostra pesquisada foi constituída de 252 funcionários públicos da região do Vale do Paraiba Paulista. Os instrumentos utilizados para a coleta de dados foram: Inventário de Identificação de Amostra (QIA), Questionário de Clima Organizacional (QCO), Inventário Maslach de Burnout (MBI) e Questionário de Enfrentamento do Trabalho (QET). Os dados coletados foram tratados por meio do Programa Minitab versão 15 e também do software Microsoft EXCEL. Os principais resultados obtidos indicaram a predominância do perfil de Clima Organizacional com ênfase do fator liderança como maior índice de insatisfação entre os servidores e os níveis de Exaustão Emocional - EE (19,2), Despersonalização DE (8,4) e Realização Profissional RP (30,3) sendo a prevalência geral de 19,3% e, portanto, bem próximos das médias de outros estudos comparando os resultados. Quanto ao Enfrentamento no trabalho, 186 sujeitos (73,8%) da amostra adotam o comportamento evitativo e 66 sujeitos (26,2%) da amostra utilizam o comportamento Vigilante. A classificação subjetiva da qualidade do sono, a prevalência foi de 84,1% da amostra, composta por muito boa (25,8%) e boa (58,3%) e 15,9% da amostra composta por ruim (15,1%) e muito ruim (0,8%). Quanto a classificação objetiva da qualidade do sono ficou demonstrado que a prevalência foi de 74,6%, composta por muito boa (56,0%) e boa (18,6%) e a prevalência de 25,4%, composta por ruim (13,9%) e muito ruim (11,5%). Foi observado que 26,19% dos sujeitos da amostra atual apresentam Sonolência Excessiva Diurna. Foram identificadas associações entre as variáveis Sociodemográficas e Epworth na categoria idade (0,0037), AAS na categoria idade (0,0007) e Enfrentamento no Trabalho nas categorias idade (0,0018) e Horas trabalhadas (0,0034). Os resultados desta pesquisa poderão criar medidas de prevenção da Síndrome de Burnout. Os resultados obtidos não devem ser generalizados, em razão da metodologia de pesquisa empregada que espelham a realidade de uma amostra pesquisada, mas devem instigar novos estudos sobre servidores públicos de outras instituições que tenham similaridades nas condições de trabalho. / This study aimed to describe the relationship between perception of organizational climate, with the Burnout Syndrome and learn coping strategies at work in employees of the Research Institute of Vale do Paraíba Paulista. The study was conducted through descriptive research design with data collection and quantitative approach. The original sample consisted of 252 government officials from the region of Vale do Paraiba Paulista. The instruments used for data collection were: Inventory Identification of Sample (QIA), Organizational Climate Questionnaire (QCO), Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the Questionnaire of Coping Labour (QET). The collected data were processed using the statistical program EXCEL. The main results indicated the predominance of the Profile of Organizational Climate with emphasis factor leading to increased rates of dissatisfaction among the servers and the levels of Emotional Exhaustion - EE (19.2), Depersonalization - DE (8.4) and Professional Achievement - RP (30.3) and the overall prevalence of 19.3% and therefore quite close to the average of other studies comparing the results. As for coping at work, 186 subjects (73.8%) of the sample adopt avoidance behavior and 66 subjects (26.2%) of the sample using the Vigilante behavior. The subjective rating of sleep quality, the prevalence was 84.1% of the sample, consisting of very good (25.8%) and good (58.3%) and 15.9% of the sample of poor (15, 1%) and very poor (0.8%). As for objective classification of sleep quality was shown that the prevalence was 74.6%, composed of very good (56.0%) and good (18.6%) and the prevalence of 25.4%, consisting of bad ( 13.9%) and very poor (11.5%). It was observed that 26.19% of the subjects now have excessive daytime sleepiness. Was identified associations between sociodemographic variables and Epworth in the age category (0.0037), ASA category age (0.0007) and coping at work in the age categories (0.0018) and hours worked (0.0034). These results may establish measures to prevent the burnout syndrome. The results should not be generalized, because of the research methodology employed to reflect the reality of a surveyed sample, but should incite further investigation into public servants from other institutions that have similarities in working conditions.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the correlation between quality of life in the work of managers of a federal judicial institution, presenteeism and Burnout Syndrome, work - related disorder related to absenteeism, early retirements and low productivity. This is a descriptive-exploratory case study, cross-sectional, under a quantitative evaluation, adopting multivariate statistics for data analysis. The following instruments were used: a questionnaire containing data on the sociodemographic profile and the professional profile; The QVP-35 questionnaire, to evaluate the quality of life at work; The MBI-GS inventory, to determine the occurrence of Burnout Syndrome; The SPS-6 scale, for the analysis of presenteeism. The data presented by 47 department managers of a Federal Judicial Institution, based in the city of São Paulo, were analyzed by means of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), seeking to correlate the component dimensions of each of the questionnaires applied. It was observed that, in relation to the sociodemographic and professional profiles of the respondents, the relevant variable in relation to the presence or absence of Burnout Syndrome was schooling. Similarly, of the analyzed dimensions of QVP-35 versus Burnout Syndrome, the main associations were found with the variable "Work Related Discomfort". Among the significant correlations obtained between Burnout Syndrome and presenteeism, Emotional Exhaustion was evidenced as a preponderant element. The contributions of the research allowed providing important subsidies for the Administration of the Court, aiming at facing the problems identified and the formulation of quality of life policies at work with a preventive bias of health problems in the institutional scope. From the academic point of view, the research made it possible to advance in the consolidation of the approach to quality of life at work, presenteeism and Burnout Syndrome and to establish indications for new studies. / O adoecimento e sua relação com a falta de assiduidade ou presença no trabalho tem sido foco de diversos estudos, representando uma realidade que gera altos custos para as instituições tanto públicas quanto privadas e, principalmente, para o trabalhador. Diante disso, este estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a correlação entre qualidade de vida no trabalho de gestores de uma instituição judiciária federal, presenteísmo e Síndrome de Burnout, transtorno gerado em situação de trabalho e relacionado ao absenteísmo, aposentadorias precoces e baixa produtividade. Trata-se de um estudo de caso de caráter descritivo-exploratório, de corte transversal, sob uma avaliação quantitativa, adotando-se a estatística multivariada para análise dos dados. Observou-se que, em relação aos perfis sociodemográfico e profissional dos respondentes, a variável relevante em relação à presença ou não de Síndrome de Burnout foi a escolaridade. De modo similar, das dimensões analisadas do QVP-35 frente à Síndrome de Burnout, as principais associações foram encontradas com a variável “Desconforto Relacionado ao Trabalho”. Dentre as correlações significativas obtidas entre a Síndrome de Burnout e o presenteísmo, evidenciou-se a Exaustão Emocional como elemento preponderante. Os aportes da pesquisa permitiram fornecer subsídios importantes para a Administração do Tribunal, visando ao enfrentamento dos problemas constatados e à formulação de políticas de qualidade de vida no trabalho com viés preventivo dos agravos à saúde no âmbito institucional. Do ponto de vista acadêmico, a pesquisa possibilitou tanto avançar na consolidação da abordagem da qualidade de vida no trabalho, presenteísmo e Síndrome de Burnout quanto estabelecer indicações para novos estudos.

Introduction: Burnout syndrome is a topical issue in the world and in the Czech Republic, not only in the healt sector. The diploma thesis is focused on finding the conection between burnout syndrome and sexuality of general nurses in emergency care. I chose the topic for my diploma thesis because it is close to me and I work in emergency care myself. In addition, the topic is not very well explored, and the research data will contribute to an international study examining the imapct od burnout syndrome on human health. This study in the Czech Republic is under the guidance of PhDr. Šárky Dynákové, Ph.D. and doc. PhDr. Jana Kožnara, CSc. Methodology: Data collection for research was conducted using two anonymous questionnaires. The first questionnaire focused on burnout syndrome using the Czech version of the Shirom-Melamed scale (Shirom, Melamed, 2006 In Ptáček, 2013). The second questionnaire examined the sexual function of a woman according to Mellan in Kratochvíl, S. (1999). The research sample consisted of general nurses working in emergency care at a teaching hospital. Results: The impact of burnout syndrome has been demonstrated by research in sexual desire (H1), self-assessment as a sexual partner (H2), and mood before sexual intercourse (H4).
