César Guerra-Peixe: a modernidade em busca de uma tradição / César Guerra-Peixe: modernity in search of a tradition

Barros, Frederico Machado de 10 May 2013 (has links)
This thesis consists in a sociological investigation of the Brazilian concert music created during the 1940s and 50s. The focal point is Cesar Guerra-Peixes compositional trajectory along these two decades, which serves as a guideline through his letters, writings, interviews and, above all, the music he composed during that period. Discussing Guerra-Peixes relationship with his peers, the thesis strives to shed light on how he responded compositionally to the problems and debates of his time. The investigation is approached through the complex relationship between modernity and tradition in his works.

Aventura bruta em versos: sublimação e melancolia na obra de Ana Cristina César / Unfinished adventure in verse: sublimation and melancholy in the literature of Ana Cristina Cesar

Moreira, Livia Santiago 07 August 2014 (has links)
In order to better approach our central question, how the sublimation occurs in melancholy, we are going to take writing as a sublimatory model, which pointedly demonstrates the mechanisms that we will try to describe. We have chosen as object of analysis for this theoretical investigation, the work of Ana Cristina César, artist from Rio de Janeiro, iconic in Brazils 1970s poetry. The particularity of her writing is the intertwining with her personal life, whose fictional autobiography surfaces what we believe to be a melancholic discourse. Through a systematic reading of the authors literary and biographical legacy, which covers a variety of genres and forms, such as collections of poetry, diaries, as well as translations, we will persecute the connections and outcomes in the processes of sublimation and melancholy. We are going to do an acute examination of the Freudian metapsychology of melancholy, the concept of pulsional defusion as well as sublimation, in an attempt to understand the relationship between the topic, dynamic, and economic dimensions. Such achievements will not be possible without the contributions of post-Freudian scholars, such as Klein, Winnicott, Lambotte, and Rosenberg, whose works will be our theoretical apparatus. Our analysis observed the particularity of the researche that embrace both the fields of psychology and literature. We have reached the conclusion that when the sublimatory process uses the work of melancholy, not grief, the risk of pulsional defusion increases. Through the investigation of the temporal dimensions and the ideal instances that possess proper characteristics in melancholy, we observed that there is a specificity of sublimation in this condition

Quête spirituelle, quête de soi dans les œuvres complètes de César Dávila Andrade : une écriture en mouvement / Spiritual quest, personal quest in César Dávila Andrade’s works : a writing in movement

Berge, Caroline 10 December 2016 (has links)
César Dávila Andrade’s works are still underestimated and enjoy limited distribution. Moreover, they have been largely unexplored until now. Our corpus is composed of the César Dávila Andrade‘s complete works, which means his total body of poetic work, the short stories and the essays. We will focus on the legacies and the influences of the writer, in order to study the language and the imagination. We will show how the author is in search of new literary landscapes. Indeed, as his purpose is to find a dynamic writing, in movement; the author breaks up the limits of the field of literature. He explores a new way that could give him access to transcendental higher-order knowledge, so as to reveal the Word.

Identificações problemáticas: lírica e sociedade em quatro poetas latino-americanos / Problematic identifications: lirics and society in four Latin American poets

Pasini, Leandro 26 April 2006 (has links)
This research has the purpose of studying, in the connective and comparative way, four poets of four different Latin American countries: César Vallejo, from Peru; Aimé Césaire, from Martinica (French Caribbean); Jorge Luis Borges, from Argentina; and Carlos Drummond de Andrade, from Brazil. Each of these poets is known as a national poet of his own country, and all of them have unquestionable historical and international importance. The perspective of this work is to compare how each poet solves the problem of establishing a poetry at the same time modern and national in the periphery of capitalism. These problems will be discussed by the point of view of immanent criticism, as it was developed by the brazilian critical tradition, in his studies concerning the formation and configuration of literature in peripheral countries.
