Applikation för administration av samfällighet / Application for administration of community associationJohansson, Andreas January 2014 (has links)
Dyviks community is located in Nynäshamns municipality and consists of a total of 86 properties. The community is maintained by the community association that all property owners are members. The association works on a volunteer basis. The association’s executive managing instance, the board, works with administrating the association members, properties and estates. These administration tasks have been carried out in a manual and time-consuming manner. The board has therefore requested a digitalized system that can perform many of the administra-tion tasks with a more automated method and increased reliability. The project’s aim has been to develop a system to streamline the board’s administrative duties. The project has meant that with the working model CDIO design a fitting solution that meets the concerns and requirements identified during the project. The development of the solution has touched all aspects such as analyzing the problem through a pilot study, designing and implementing the system, testing it and developing a plan for how the system should be deployed. Each requirement and function has been implemented with an incremental working procedure. The result was a system with the most necessary functionality implemented. The system allows board members to administer the association's interests (sections, berths, members and properties) and generate reports and members' bills. The project has also resulted in an evaluation of how the system will process personal data in accordance with the legal issues that exist, such as the Data Protection Act, and a rough economic operation plan.

GHG impact of cloud IT solutions from Scania's commercial autonomous vehicles in use phase: Assessment, challenges, and possible recommendations to reduce GHG impactHuifen, Cong January 2022 (has links)
Sustainability study in the ever-growing Information technology (IT) sector is an emerging interdisciplinary research field. As one essential element in this sector, the development and implementation of cloud-based autonomous vehicles have the great potential to bring convenience to society and are defined as the climate change mitigation strategy. For instance, autonomous vehicles are able to fully utilize the eco-driving systems to reduce carbon emissions and reach high energy efficiency. Previous studies have shown that cloud IT service, one of the critical technologies for autonomous vehicles, is likely to yield novelties and advantages to the IT industry and reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from other sectors. However, cloud services and their data center infrastructures consume plenty of electricity globally and cause GHG emission impacts. Robust methodologies to assess the environmental impacts related to cloud IT solutions are still lacking in academia and industry. In sum, there are knowledge gaps between empirical studies and general interest in software- supported and data-driven autonomous vehicles and their cloud service. The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibilities and challenges connected to the assessment of the GHG impact related to cloud IT solutions in an autonomous vehicle set up. This study also aims to explore possible recommendations to reduce the GHG emission of cloud IT services. A qualitative in-depth case study is performed. The primary data is collected by semi-structured interview method, while the secondary data is collected by the scoping literature review method. The interviews are conducted with employees with different roles related to cloud services and/or sustainability at the case company. The findings show the lack of transparent methodologies and calculation guidelines to assess cloud GHG emissions, both in the research community and industry. It shows the great opportunity and market demand for sound assessment methodologies and tools. Besides, six challenges to assessing cloud GHG emissions on the autonomous vehicle set up are identified: i) assessing system boundaries, ii) data quality and collection methods, iii) measurement methodologies, iv) calculation process, v) validation process, and vi) some other challenges. Additionally, five possible recommendations are developed to reduce the cloud GHG emissions: i) cloud GHG emission visualization and measurement tool, ii) better promotional schemes for user’s awareness and engagement, iii) investigations on both top-down and bottom-up approaches, iv) optimization through usage demand shaping, and v) optimization of the infrastructure services.

Securing Cloud Storage ServiceZapolskas, Vytautas January 2012 (has links)
Cloud computing brought flexibility, scalability, and capital cost savings to the IT industry. As more companies turn to cloud solutions, securing cloud based services becomes increasingly important, because for many organizations, the final barrier to adopting cloud computing is whether it is sufficiently secure. More users rely on cloud storage as it is mainly because cloud storage is available to be used by multiple devices (e.g. smart phones, tablets, notebooks, etc.) at the same time. These services often offer adequate protection to user's private data. However, there were cases where user's private data was accessible to other users, since this data is stored in a multi-tenant environment. These incidents reduce the trust of cloud storage service providers, hence there is a need to securely migrate data from one cloud storage provider to another. This thesis proposes a design of a service for providing Security as a Service for cloud brokers in a federated cloud. This scheme allows customers to securely migrate from one provider to another. To enable the design of this scheme, possible security and privacy risks of a cloud storage service were analysed and identified. Moreover, in order to successfully protect private data, data protection requirements (for data retention, sanitization, and processing) were analysed. The proposed service scheme utilizes various encryption techniques and also includes identity and key management mechanisms, such as "federated identity management". While our proposed design meets most of the defined security and privacy requirements, it is still unknown how to properly handle data sanitization, to meet data protection requirements, and provide users data recovery capabilities (backups, versioning, etc.).

My media favorites on any device : A study about the development and evaluation of a partly cloud-based and partly on-premise solution based on Microsoft PlatformDanielsson, Jennifer, Danielsson, Oliver January 2021 (has links)
Background Using Microsoft Platforms as a base for creating a software solution with a web front-end, the motives and research behind the technology was explored. This study identified functionalities that are split across existing media-related applications where neither has all to develop and evaluate a novel solution with useful features for sorting and indexing media. Aim Produce a solution for the development of an application with available technology, provide research and motives for chosen implementation strategies, and an evaluation of the solution. Method Design and creation was used as a strategy for the purpose of developing and evaluating a software solution. A literature review was used as data collection method, serving as motive and research behind the development of a software solution. An evaluation on accessibility, functionality and performance was chosen to estimate the worth of the proposed solution, and to be compared with Kodi and Squeezebox. Results The proposed solution suffered in performance and accessibility. In terms of functionality, it has the edge by being cloud-hosted,having offline support and supporting multiple media types. Kodi excelled in supporting more media types and formats, with an accessibility score close to Zavorite. Squeezebox excelled in performance. Both Squeezebox and Kodi has the edge in being able to playback media, a feature Zavorite does not offer. Conclusions Zavorite is a prototype evaluated alongside product-ready applications. The areas where Zavorite is lacking compared to Kodi or Squeezebox, such as performance is made up for due to being a PWA. For accessibility, the evaluation showed what should be improved for subsequent prototypes. For functionality, despite the prototype only showcasing two media types, there is the possibility of adding more with an additional row in a database table. Zavorite can be considered a combination of Kodi and Squeezebox, with user experience improvements as a PWA, limited to sorting and indexing media.

Arkitektonisk teknisk skuld : Hantering, utmaningar och risktaganden bland molnen / Architectural technical debt : Handling, challanges and risk taking among the cloudsSvensson, Johannes, Nilsson, Alexander January 2023 (has links)
Architectural decisions often have long lasting effects on information systems, when these decisions lead to increased complexity, maintainability, and inhibited development speed, architectural technical debt arises. Architectural technical debt can be considered more relevant than ever in an age where we are not only more dependent on our information systems than ever, they are also more complex than ever. The systems continue to increase in scale and new technology, such as AI, is added and quickly becomes part of the everyday work of the average person. Architectural decisions are made not only once at an early stage with today’s agile development methods, but continuously during iterations. This can lead to shortcuts and thus suboptimal architectural decisions, which in turn can create architectural technical debt over time. This master’s thesis on architectural technical debt in a cloud-based environment is a case study that examines organizations operating within the CRM system Salesforce, more specifically system development within this framework. The study examines the organizations' perception and management of the phenomenon, but also what their attitudes and risk-taking look like in architectural decisions. The study presents previous research on technical debt, the financial metaphor of Ward Cunningham, and architectural technical debt, a category of technical debt, and uses two theoretical frameworks: a descriptive model to interpret architectural technical debt and an analytical model that categorize technical debt according to Fowler’s quadrants, with an architectural angle. The result consists of an empirical collection where documentation from Salesforce is presented and eight respondents with different roles have been interviewed. The study shows that there are differences in how organizations handle architectural technical debt depending on the client's role and understanding, that there are challenges with getting handling of architectural technical debt prioritized, and that there are both reckless and prudent attitudes.

Integrering av glukosmätare med molntjänst för hemmonitorering / Integration of Glucose Meter with Cloud Service for Remote Patient MonitoringKaroumi, Daniel, Luong, Oscar January 2021 (has links)
During this project, a solution has been developed that promotes remote patient monitoring. As different medical products send data to their own platforms, it becomes troublesome for both the patient and the care provider to take and keep track of all the vital parameters. Hence a common platform, LinkWatch, has been developed. LinkWatch is a platform where all the patient's medical signs can be seen. To increase the functionality of LinkWatch, a secure and efficient data transfer between a blood glucose meter and LinkWatch’s web server has been established. The goal of this project was to integrate a blood glucose meter with LinkWatch. The programming languages Kotlin and Swift were used to develop the mobile applications. To gain knowledge about the data transfer, research was done to obtain information about the FHIR standard, Bluetooth Low Energy and previous work in the field. The results of the project are two applications, one for iOS and one for Android. The mobile applications can connect to the blood glucose meter with Bluetooth, transfer its values to the mobile phone and send these to LinkWatch’s web server. When the records are in LinkWatch’s system, the patient is able to see their glucose levels along with other vital parameters. This project will have a major impact on patients with diabetes and others who are interested in health. Thanks to the user-friendly platform and the flexibility of LinkWatch, users of the application will be able to more easily keep track of their blood sugar value and take early action in the event of symptoms. Furthermore, health care providers can also take part in information that LinkWatch will provide, for example see trends in the patient's blood sugar values. The benefits with sharing data with the health care providers are cost reductions and increased patient satisfaction.
