A paixão de olhar: a cidade no cinema brasileiro / The passian of view: the city on brazilian cinema

Jorge Ricardo Santos de Lima Costa 25 April 2008 (has links)
Since the creation of the cinema, in 1895, cities have been portrayed in a way that surprises those who experience it in their daily lives. The art of cinema magnifies the sense of reality, thus triggering an impact on man's psychological and social universe. Through its large production, the Brazilian cinema follows the city's journey in connection with the aesthetic, social, cultural, political, and economical development, depicting the way man relates to these variants. In his work, the historian Michel de Certeau develops the subject of everyday inventiveness regarding the practice of space. The concepts of "space" (a practiced place) and "place" (a geometrical space) pave the way to deepening the investigation of man's role in the city's everyday life. This is the theoretical chore of the present research. It proposes to investigate the city's imaginary contents as seen in the Brazilian cinema, based on three main topics: the formation of the urban imaginary contents, the creation of the city's form on film (locations, settings, and looks), and the state of solitude and isolation man must face in the big cities. In order to supply the adequate material, the following Brazilian productions have been selected for the studies in question: Dias de Nietzsche em Turim (Nietzsche's Torino Days) (2001), by Julio Bressane, O Príncipe (The Prince) (2002), by Ugo Giorgetti, and O Outro Lado da Rua (The Other Side of the Street) (2004), by Marcos Bernstein. As portrayed in these films, the city supplies us with the opportunity to exercise the act of looking, and to reflect about the urban daily life with its effects on the contemporary man's psychology

Aguiar, Priscilla Spindola de January 2017 (has links)
A performance analysis is studied over many years, a perspective of analysis of teaching effectiveness and improvement of pedagogical action. This discussion about teaching with the possibility of multiple practices, that is, non linear, but variable and evolutionary, considering different methodological styles. The concept of styles here present has as a form of action of the teacher, referring to its action, and form of communication. The School Physical Education consolidated as a curricular component is based on a body culture of the movement. However the great questioning of the discipline is related to a quality of its classes, that is, with a capacity of professors in objectives to list, to plan and to organize specific contents of the area. In the literature there is a lack of knowledge about how the contents of school physical education will translate into concrete learning. From these gaps, it is evident that a series of surveys that deal with the teaching of physical education teachers and the responsibility with the objectives of curricular components, or as a Physical Education school has been presenting in the educational scope. For the general purpose of this study was considered as one of the styles of fundamental and professional teaching of physical education teachers and as specific objectives to consider the objectives and contents of elementary school physical education; The evaluation of the teacher during a practical class of Physical Education school; And an analysis of the consistency between the objectives and the evidenced contents and the involvement of the teachers. Thus, it is a study with an exploratory descriptive design that uses a mixed approach. In this model, quantitative and qualitative techniques are used simultaneously during a data collection phase and the results shared during an interpretation phase. The sample is constituted by the Physical Education teachers of Elementary School of the municipal network of Porto Alegre. An initial communication to an electronic address via the Municipal Department of Education. We contacted by email with 54 schools, are a sample was effectively constituted by 4 schools resulting in 5 teachers. For data collection for two instruments. The first instrument used in the field research for a semistructured interview with Physical Education teachers. The issues related to the discipline of Physical Education and teaching-discipline and its pedagogical action, ie, its objectives, contents, methodological procedures and characteristics of the classes. As interviews were recorded and transcribed and an analysis of the generated content was done later. The second instrument used as lecture notes for the SOFIT (aptitude instruction time observation system). SOFIT is a tool that aims to evaluate the quality of physical education teaching. An observation with the SOFIT instrument is divided into two phases. Following the protocol of this instrument, two classes of each teacher were recorded, six lessons (3 boys and 3 girls), two, one boy and one girl, an example of substitution of the observed students. As analyzes of the phases were made and included in the discourse on the pedagogical action of the teacher. As results, it was identified as the profile of the research subjects, their methodological conceptions and some strategies. According to the results, it is not identified with the pedagogical styles, but with the pattern of speeches and performances. The teachers studied, for the most part, presented objectives, context, and involvement in similar classes. For the most part, the contexts of the classes were related to motor, motor and sports skills and with explanation of rules and knowledge. The teachers' attitude towards the issue of education and the administration of the activities, that is, the participating teachers, spent more than half of the time of class involved with the activities and with the students. So to conclude, the School Physical Education seen here is a discipline, planned and structured. These results are positive for the Physical Education school to consolidate its identity without school context and not academic environment.

These areas are subjected to strong anthropogenic impacts. This study aimed to deepen the knowledge on the feeding of M. curema and the influence of physical-chemical variables on diet these animals. In the state of Paraíba, Rio Paraíba do Norte suffers due to the continuing impact of human activities, it may interfere with the behavioe and life cicle of various species on site. The water quality and substrate is critical for maintaining the base bodies of foof chains, as well as the fis themselves in their initial stages ontogenetic particulary susceptible to environmental unbalance and mortality. Thys study tested hypothesis that the high loads os nutrients in the stuary the increase od algae communities due to eutriphication, positively influencing the diet and abundance of M. curema. It was developed in Paraíba do Norte River estuary, through monthly samplings from July 2010 to June 2011, on four sampling stations. Phytoplankton sampling and water for physical-chemical analysis were also performed. We sampled 130 individuals of M. curema, whose stomachs were analyzed. Cyclotella and Coscinodiscus were the main phytoplankton resources in the diet of M. curema. The analyses indicate the possibility that the individuals may picky on the some food items, because even with high density of some species in the water, they did not occur in stomachs examined. The rainfall on the drainage basin in the Paraíba do Norte River has great influence on water quality in the estuary, both in nutrients carried and in the salinity reduction. It was concluded that the diet of M. curema was basically of Bacillariophyceae, Coscinodiscophyceae, Cyanobacteria and sediment, and that both young and adults mullets use the estuary for feeding.

Análise de conteúdo estomacal de aves Furnariida (Passeriformes) / Analysis of the stomach content of birds Furnariida (Passeriformes)

Viviane Monteiro Silva Kupriyanov 11 April 2013 (has links)
Nas famílias de Furnariida, com número representativo de espécimes, Orthoptera e Araneae tiveram maior frequência de ocorrência em Furnariidae, enquanto Coleoptera e Orthoptera em Thamnophilidae e Coleoptera em Dendrocolaptidae, o que pode estar relacionado aos hábitos de forrageamento das espécies nelas incluídas / The clade Furnariida of the Passeriformes is endemic to the Neotropical region, and is very diverse: it is represented by around 623 species in some 134 genera distributed in the following families: Furnariidae, Dendrocolaptidae, Thamnophilidae, Formicariidae, Conopophagidae e Rhinocryptidae. Commonly the birds of this group are found in mixed-species flocks and/or as army-ant-followers, features that are common amongst birds of the tropical forests. Members of the Funariida are considered to be insectivores although they may occasionally eat small quantities of fruit or seeds, or small vertebrates. The objective of this study was to describe the diet of representative species of the Funariida that occur in different Amazonian regions, and also estimate the numbers of prey and total biomass consumed. To do this the stomach contents of 476 specimens of the Furnariida were analyzed, of which, 51 belonged to the family Funariidae, 139 to the Dendrocolaptidae, 280 to the Thamnophilidae, and 3 each to the Formaricariidae and Conopophagidae. Two methods were used to evaluate the contribution of the biomass of the preys consumed by the Dendrocolaptidae. The partial biomass method was found to be very unreliable and so, in this study, the estimated biomass method was found to be the most appropriate to compare the total number of items in the corresponding biomass. The main types of prey eaten by these birds were Coleoptera, Orthoptera and Araneae. Nevertheless, Orthoptera were the group that made the biggest contribution to the ingested biomass, followed by Coleoptera and Vertebrata. The high biomass of Orthoptera in the environment would explain the high consumption and preference for these insects as prey. The vertebrates were consumed by some specimens of Dendrocolaptidae and Thamnophilidae, and in the case of the dendrocolaptids these were all the small scansorial lizard Gonatodes humeralis; those consumed by the thamnophilids were not identified. Predation on vertebrates seems to be occasional and is probably opportunistic. In the families of the Furnariida, represented by numbers of specimens, Orthoptera and Aranae had the highest frequency of occurrence in the Funariidae, with Coleoptera and Orthoptera in the Thamnophilidae, and Coleoptera in the Dendrocolaptidae, which can be related to the foraging habits of the species in these families

Factors Influencing Movements and Foraging Ecology of American Alligators (Alligator mississippiensis) in a Dynamic Subtropical Coastal Ecosystem

Rosenblatt, Adam 14 June 2013 (has links)
Top predators can have large effects on community and population dynamics but we still know relatively little about their roles in ecosystems and which biotic and abiotic factors potentially affect their behavioral patterns. Understanding the roles played by top predators is a pressing issue because many top predator populations around the world are declining rapidly yet we do not fully understand what the consequences of their potential extirpation could be for ecosystem structure and function. In addition, individual behavioral specialization is commonplace across many taxa, but studies of its prevalence, causes, and consequences in top predator populations are lacking. In this dissertation I investigated the movement, feeding patterns, and drivers and implications of individual specialization in an American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) population inhabiting a dynamic subtropical estuary. I found that alligator movement and feeding behaviors in this population were largely regulated by a combination of biotic and abiotic factors that varied seasonally. I also found that the population consisted of individuals that displayed an extremely wide range of movement and feeding behaviors, indicating that individual specialization is potentially an important determinant of the varied roles of alligators in ecosystems. Ultimately, I found that assuming top predator populations consist of individuals that all behave in similar ways in terms of their feeding, movements, and potential roles in ecosystems is likely incorrect. As climate change and ecosystem restoration and conservation activities continue to affect top predator populations worldwide, individuals will likely respond in different and possibly unexpected ways.
