Nuay, Christian January 2022 (has links)
Introduction: The Covid19 pandemic meant that many organizations suffered profitability problems – in both the public and private sectors. Different industries were affected in different ways, where, for example, the construction industry experienced a boom while the service sector stagnated. Sweden had less extensive restrictions, but despite this, business was significantly affected. Aim: Since archipelagos are attractive seasonal meeting places with many bars and restaurants, the aim of this work is to investigate how the hospitality industry in these remote places handled the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and what strategies they adopted to survive the crisis.  Theory: The theoretical frame of reference is based on phenomenography, which is used as a theoretical as well as methodological approach in this work. The theoretical frame of reference helps to provide a picture of how social capital and institutional factors strongly contribute to setting the framework for the possibility of entrepreneurship, especially in peripheral regions. Method: To fulfill the purpose of the study, individual interviews as well as group interviews with entrepreneurs around the archipelago have been reviewed, which have then been contrasted with existing business economics research where the results have been interpreted using a phenomenographic analysis model.  Results: The results show that the islands are characterized by limitations regarding both social and practical infrastructure, as well as other types of obstacles related to their geographically exposed location. The result also shows that entrepreneurial innovations arise in relation to these limitations where the entrepreneurs who work with few resources still manage to run their businesses with profit.  Conclusion: The study shows that there are great similarities between businesses within Sweden's archipelago in times of crisis. A decisive factor in how well this cope with a crisis lies in how cooperation works with society's formal institutions. However, more peripheral regions fare better than those close to large cities. An explanation for this, may lie in the fact that they are more used to fending for themselves. Due to a lack of resources, social capital becomes an important factor in mitigating the risks of a crisis.

Höyer, Jonathan, Lindgren, Andreas, Börjesson, Philip January 2022 (has links)

Influence of COVID-19 on E-commerce sales : The omnichannel strategies case of the retail businesses in Sweden

Aguilar Montaño, Joel Dorian January 2022 (has links)
Purpose - This thesis aims to describe the strategies employed by omnichannel experts in Swedish retail shops during the Covid19 pandemic. Furthermore, the integration of the physical and online channels is studied to describe the methods used to increase sales, especially in the online channels. Methodology – The study applies a qualitative method where semi-structured interviews were conducted with omnichannel experts from retail businesses. Findings – The aim of the retail shops during the Covid19 pandemic has been to perform in- store and online shopping despite the partial restrictions. Retail shops had to adapt to the changes in the Swedish market and the consumer behavior. The challenge of maintaining sales and remaining competitive has shown that Swedish retail shops have remained resilient and that adaptation has been key to their business strategies. Practical Implications – Retail businesses worldwide were forced to close their business except for their online services. However, Sweden is a particular case where retailers had to find solutions to their physical and online retail operations. Partial restrictions allowed them to carry out business activities in the Swedish market. Therefore, the current pandemic has influenced Swedish retailers to help them identify business strategies to boost their sales, especially online sales. As well as the data collection and literature findings, both cases suggest that adapting to new technologies is the key to increasing sales in all channels. Therefore, retailers should introduce new ways of working with the help of technological tools to become more competitive and provide excellent service to an increasingly demanding and technologically savvy customer. Contribution – This study contributes to the area of research that looks at how omnichannel retail structures can be improved to increase sales. And how they adapt to change market situations that influence consumer behavior.

The International Journal of Homiletics

Deeg, Alexander, Ringgaard Lorensen, Marlene 01 October 2020 (has links)
2020 – this year will surely be remembered as the year of the Covid19-pandemic. Writing these lines in August 2020, there are around 20 million people infected (numbers increasing continuously) – and the whole population of the world affected by the virus. 750.000 people died in the first months of the pandemic. And all over the world poverty increases, and the most vulnerable are most affected by the crisis. Are there any ‘answers’ sermons can give? Or is this a time for silently listening with the congregations to the word of God? What is the role of preaching in the pandemic – knowing that we will never simply return to the situation ‘before’ the pandemic, but that our way of living, and also our way of preaching and celebrating worship will change.

Söder, Sofia January 2021 (has links)

Irvhage, Tommie January 2022 (has links)
In this case study I interviewed five history teachers experiences of digital education during the covid-19 outbreak the spring of 2020. What are the views of these teachers on the nature of their subject and its potential, how was this transferred into the digital space under hastily manners? And what was the following effects? Interestingly depending on how the teachers view the potential of their subject their methods of teaching it changes. Which included different hindrances while transferring education into the digital classroom. The teachers used different strategies to mitigate the hindrances, but some patterns could be observed to be in common. This study concludes that the most important factors that affected the teachers where availability of digital tools and lack of visual feedback from the students. The teachers took different strategies to mitigate these too. The effects of the hasty lockdown and digitization of the classroom was during its time most notable lack of energy and a decrease of the teacher’s self-image as educators. The effects of the lack of student response seems universal and a key reason of the negative effects, implicating that the meeting between teachers and students play a big role in not only the students learning, but also for the teachers feeling of work-related value. Regardless of the negative effects, in the case of these teachers the most notable aftereffect of the experiences is that most of the teachers are even more motivated and feel a confirmation of their jobs and subjects’ significance.
