Die konsepte selfaktualisering (vanuit 'n humanistiese raamwerk), gevoel van koherensie en aangeleerde vernuftigheid (vanuit 'n behavioristiese en salutogenesis paradigma) is vir die doeleindes van hierdie ondersoek gekies. Die gekose meetinstrumente, naamlik die Persoonlike Orientasievraelys vir
selfaktualisering, die Lewensorientasievraelys vir gevoel van koherensie en die Selfkontroleskedule vir aangeleerde vernuftigheid, is op 'n steekproef van 200 middelvlakbestuurders in 'n semi-staatsdiensorganisasie afgeneem. Pearsonkorrelasiekoeffisiente is bereken en 'n faktorontleding is gedoen. Daar is verskeie beduidende korrelasies verkry tussen die subskale van die Persoonlike Orientasievraelys en die Lewensorientasievraelys, maar slegs enkele beduidende korrelasies tussen die Persoonlike Orientasievraelys en die Selfkontroleskedule. Die Lewensorientasievraelys en die Selfkontroleskedule het egter beduidend gekorreleer. Die faktorontleding het getoon dat selfaktualisering aan die een kant, en gevoel van koherensie en aangeleerde vernuftigheid aan die ander kant as twee verskillende konstrukte van psigologiese optimaliteit beskou kan word. / The relationships between various conceptualisations of psychological optimisation are investigated. The concepts of self-actualisation (from a humanistic paradigm), sense of coherence and learned resourcefulness (from a salutogenesis paradigm) are relevant. The measuring instruments were the Personal Orientation Inventory (POl), the Orientation to Life Questionnaire (OLQ) and the Self Control Schedule (SCS). They were administered by means of random sampling of 200 middle level managers in a semi-government organisation. Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated and a factor analysis was done. Several significant correlations were obtained between the subscales of the POl and the OLQ, but limited correlations were found between the POl and the SCS. However, significant correlations between the OLQ and the SCS were apparent. The factor

die persoonlikheidsweerstandsbronne koherensiesin, gehardheid en lokus van beheer is.
Middelvlakbestuurders (n=103) het selfbeoordelingsvraelyste oor stres, sin vir koherensie,
gehardheid en lokus van beheer voltooi. Die resultate van die Pearson produkmoment
korrelasie en chi-kwadraattoetse toon dat daar 'n statisties beduidende verwantskap tussen
stres en koherensiesin, gehardheid en lokus van beheer is. Dit blyk dat middelvlakbestuurders
met 'n sterk koherensiesin beter in staat is om stres te hanteer as bestuurders met 'n lae
koherensiesin. Hierdie bestuurders maak dus sin uit werkstressors en beskou lewenseise as
betekenisvol en uitdagend. Die resultate dui aan dat bestuurders met 'n hoe inteme lokus van
beheer en outonomie minder stres ervaar en beter toegerus is om die negatiewe invloed van
stres teen te werk as bestuurders met 'n lae lokus van beheer en outonomie. Volgens hierdie
navorsing het gehardheid nie 'n invloed op die ervaring van stress. / The purpose of this study was to determine if a relationship exists between stress and the
resiliency sources of sense of coherence, hardiness and locus of control. Managers (N=l 03) at
middle management level completed self-report questionnaires on stress, sense of coherence,
hardiness and locus of control. Results from the Pearson product moment correlation and chisquare
tests, indicate a statistical significant relationship between stress and sense of
coherence, hardiness and locus of control. It seems as if managers at middle management
level with a strong sense of coherence experience lower levels of stress than managers with a
low sense of coherence. These managers derive sense from work stressors and view life's
demands as meaningful and challenging. These results indicate that managers with a strong
internal locus of control and autonomy will be better equipped to cope with stress than
managers with a low locus of control and autonomy. According to this study hardiness does

Estudo comparativo de fotocoagulação panretiniana com e sem ranibizumabe intravítreo no tratamento da retinopatia diabética proliferativa / A comparative study of panretinal photocoagulation with and without intravitreal ranibizumab in treatment of proliferative diabetic retinopathyDaniel Araujo Ferraz 28 August 2015 (has links)
Objetivo: Comparar o efeito da terapia da fotocoagulação panretiniana (PFC) associada à injeção intravítrea de Ranibizumabe (RBZ) versus terapia isolada com PFC em pacientes com retinopatia diabética proliferativa (RDP) precoce, virgens de tratamento, com ou sem edema macular diabético (DME) durante 6 meses de acompanhamento. Projeto: Estudo prospectivo intervencionista, randomizado e controlado. Métodos: Sessenta olhos de 30 pacientes com RDP bilateral precoce foram randomizados para o grupo de estudo (GE) que foram tratados com PFC associado a duas injeções de RBZ intravítreo (0.5mg/0.05ml) ou para o grupo controle (GC) tratados apenas com PFC. Mudanças na acuidade visual (AV) corrigida, na sensibilidade ao contraste (SC) e na espessura foveal (EF) foram comparados no início, e nos 1, 3 e 6 meses após o tratamento. Resultados: No GE, a diferença na média da AV do baseline para o mês 6 teve um aumento significativo de + 3,4 letras (p = 0,006) e uma diminuição significativa na EF de - 47.6um (p < 0,001). No GC, a diferença na média da AV teve uma diminuição de - 3,4 letras (p = 0,04) e uma mudança na EF de -3.8 um (p = 0,96). Com relação ao teste de SC dentre os 28 olhos do GE, houve uma melhora no mês 6 em relação ao baseline nos ciclos: 1,5 (p < 0.001) e 3,0 ciclo (p=0.023). Dentre os 30 olhos do GC, não houve uma diferença estatística nos momentos estudados. Conclusão: A injeção intravítrea de RBZ associado com PFC pode ser um tratamento eficaz em olhos de pacientes com RDP precoce e EMD / Purpose: To compare the efficacy of therapy with panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) and intravitreal ranibizumab (RBZ) injection versus PRP alone in patients with treatment-naive bilateral non-high risk proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) with and without diabetic macular edema (DME) with a 6-month follow-up. Design: Prospective, interventional, randomized controlled trial. Methods: Sixty eyes of 30 patients with bilateral non-high risk PDR were randomized either to the study group (SG) receiving PRP plus two intravitreal ranibizumab injections (0.5mg/0.05ml), the first one week before and the second four weeks after the PRP or to the control group (CG) receiving PRP alone. Mean change in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), contrast sensitivity (CS) and central macular thickness (CMT) were compared at baseline and 1, 3 and 6 months after treatment. Results: Changes from baseline to 6 months showed in the SG an increased in the BCVA by + 3.4 letters (p= 0.006) with a decrease in CMT by - 47.6um (p < 0.001). In the CG, a decrease by - 3.4 letters (p = 0.04) and an decrease by -3.8um (p= 0.96). Regarding the CS in the SG, there was an improvement compared to baseline for the sixth month in the 1.5 (p < 0.001) and 3.0 cycles (p = 0.023). The CG did not show significant results from baseline to month 6. Conclusion: Intravitreal RBZ associated with PRP can be an effective treatment in eyes with non-high risk PDR and DME

Caracterização do eletroencefalograma normal em situação de vigília: elaboração da base de dados e análise quantitativaRamos, Camila Davi 25 July 2017 (has links)
O sinal EEG, cujas informações descrevem o comportamento elétrico do córtex cerebral, apesar de ser bastante utilizado para diagnósticos, principalmente de patologias como epilepsia, no Brasil ainda não é usual o monitoramento contínuo em ambiente de UTI em hospitais públicos. Diante disso, e partindo do pressuposto que estudos sobre o EEG normal, registrado em pessoas sem problemas neurológicos, são escassos, a criação de uma base de registros de EEG normal e análise quantitativa da mesma se faz necessária para que, por meio dos resultados obtidos, padrões normais possam ser estabelecidos e por meio deles a identificação de parâmetros patológicos se torne mais eficaz. Nesse projeto foi elaborada uma base de dados de EEG, com total de 100 registros válidos, advindos de voluntários normais e saudáveis. E a partir desses registros a situação de vigília e olhos fechados foi analisada sob o aspecto de três quantificadores distintos, sendo eles, Porcentagem de Contribuição de Potência (PCP), Frequência Mediana (FM) e Coerência, ambos avaliando o sinal no domínio da frequência. A fim de obter comparações para os resultados obtidos pela análise dos dados do EEG normal, foram utilizados 128 registros de EEG em situação de coma, com diferentes tipos de etiologias e desfechos. Os ritmos que apresentaram maiores distinções entre normal e coma foram Delta e Alfa, principalmente para o quantificador FM. Notou-se que o PCP avaliou características de potência e portanto sintetizou as informações de energia de cada ritmo cerebral tanto em EEG normal quanto em EEG coma. Já FM traz informações de valores de frequências em que há maior concentração de potência, e por fim o quantificador coerência informa o grau de semelhança entre o hemisfério direito e o esquerdo do cérebro. Sendo assim não foi possível afirmar qual dos quantificadores apresentou melhores resultados, visto que cada um trata-se de uma características distintas. / The EEG signal, whose information describes the electrical behavior of the cerebral cortex, although it is widely used for diagnoses, mainly of pathologies such as epilepsy, in Brazil it is still not usual to monitor the ICU environment in public hospitals. Considering this, and assuming that studies on normal EEG, registered in people without neurological problems, are scarce, the creation of a base of normal EEG registers and quantitative analysis of it is necessary so that, through the obtained results, Normal patterns can be established and through them, the identification of pathological parameters becomes more effective. In this project, an EEG database was developed, with 100 valid records from normal and healthy volunteers. In addition, from these records, the waking and closed eyes situation was analyzed under the aspect of three distinct quantifiers, being: Power Contribution Percentage (PCP), Median Frequency (FM) and Coherence, both evaluating the signal in the frequency domain. In order to obtain comparisons for the results obtained by the analysis of the normal EEG data, 128 EEG records were used in coma, with different types of etiologies and outcomes. The rhythms that presented the highest distinctions between normal and coma were Delta and Alpha, mainly for the FM quantifier. It was noted that PCP evaluated power characteristics and therefore synthesized the energy information of each brain rhythm in both normal EEG and EEG coma. Already FM brings information of values of frequencies in which there is greater concentration of power, and finally the quantifier coherence informs the degree of similarity between the right and left hemisphere of the brain. Thus, it was not possible to say which of the quantifiers presented better results, since each one is a distinct characterization. / Dissertação (Mestrado)

Avaliação estrutural e funcional da mácula nos pacientes com retinopatia diabética proliferativa submetidos à panfotocoagulação associada a injeções intravítreas de bevacizumabe / Structural and functional assessment of the macula in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy submitted to panretinal photocoagulation associated with intravitreal injections of bevacizumabRony Carlos Preti 23 November 2012 (has links)
INTRODUÇÃO: O presente estudo avaliou o tratamento com injeções intravítreas de Bevacizumabe (IVB) associadas à panfotocoagulação (PFC) da retina na retinopatia diabética proliferativa (RDP) de alto risco com ou sem edema macular (EM). MÉTODOS: Ensaio clínico randomizado, prospectivo, aberto e mascarado composto por pacientes com Diabetes melitos (DM) tipo 2. A acuidade visual (AV) foi medida com a tabela Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study e a sensibilidade ao contraste (SC) pela da tabela Vistech Consultants Incorporation 6500. Os pacientes foram submetidos a exame de angiofluoresceinografia para observação de neovascularização retiniana e isquemia macular e à tomografia de coerência óptica (OCT), para se obter a espessura foveal (EF) e o volume macular (VM). Após os exames, um dos olhos do mesmo paciente foi randomizado para realizar somente PFC, grupo controle (GC), e o outro para PFC associado a injeções IVB, grupo de estudo (GE). A hemorragia vítrea (HV) e a presença de complicações também foram avaliadas. RESULTADOS: Dos 42 pacientes incluídos, 35 completaram o estudo. A média de idade foi de 56±8 anos, com predominância do gênero masculino 21 (60%). Vinte e seis (74%) pacientes eram portadores de Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica com média de duração de 9±10 anos. A média de duração do DM foi de 18±9 anos sendo 23 (66%) usuários de insulina e 21 (68,5%), fácicos. A AV e a SC não demonstraram diferença entre os grupos no total da amostra. O GE demonstrou melhora em comparação ao GC na EF no 1º mês, e no VM nos 1° e 3º meses de seguimento. Quanto aos 12 pacientes com EM bilateral somente a EF demonstrou redução no GE no 1º mês de seguimento. Ao se avaliar os grupos separadamente, o GC apresentou agravamento da AV e SC durante todo seguimento. Houve também aumento da EF nos 1º e 6º meses e VM nos 1º , 3º e 6º meses de seguimento. O GE demonstrou estabilização da AV, SC, EF e VM. Correlacionado às funções visuais, AV com a SC, toda vez que houve piora da AV esta foi acompanhada pelo agravamento da SC em todos os momentos no GC e GE. Quando correlacionadas as AV e SC com as EF e VM, toda vez que a espessura macular aumentava, havia piora da função visual. Dos sete pacientes excluídos do estudo por apresentarem HV, cinco integravam o GC e dois o GE. Não houve aparecimento de catarata, endoftalmite e/ou aumento significativo da pressão ocular. CONCLUSÃO: Na RDP de alto risco, o uso adjuvante de injeções intravítreas de Bevacizumabe associadas à panfotocoagulação da retina pode estabilizar a AV, SC, EF e VM, diminuir a incidência de HV e reduzir a da espessura macular. Em relação à correlação entre as variáveis, quando houve piora da AV, esta foi acompanhada da piora da SC e o aumento da EF e VM causaram piora da AV e SC / INTRODUCTION: This study evaluated the treatment with intravitreal injections of Bevacizumab (IVB) associated with panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) in high-risk proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) with or without diabetic macular edema (DME). METHODS: Prospective, open and masked, randomized clinical trial, composed of patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The visual acuity (VA) was measured with the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study charts and the contrast sensitivity (CS) through the chart of Vistech Consultants Incorporation 6500. Patients were submitted to a fluorescein angiography examination to observe retinal neovascularization and macular ischemia and to an optical coherence tomography (OCT) to obtain the foveal thickness (FT) and macular volume (MV). After the tests, one of the eyes from the same patient was randomized to realize only the PRP, the control group (CG), and the other for PRP associated to IVB injections, the study group (SG). Vitreous hemorrhage (VH) and presence of complications were also evaluated. RESULTS: Thirty-five of the forty-two patients included, completed the study. The mean age was 56±8 years, with a predominance of 21 (60%) males. Twenty-six (74%) patients had systemic hypertension with a mean duration of 9±10 years. The mean duration of DM was 18±9 years, of which 23 (66%) were insulin users and 21 (68.5%) were phakic. The VA and CS showed no difference between groups in the total sample. The SG showed improvement compared to the CG in FT for the 1st month, and in MV for the 1st and 3rd month of follow-up. As for the 12 patients with bilateral ME, only the FT showed a reduction in the SG for the 1st month of follow-up. When evaluating the groups separately, the CG showed worsening of VA and CS at all times. There was also an increase of FT for the 1st and 6th months and of MV for the 1st, 3rd and 6th month follow-up. The SG showed stabilization of VA, CS, FT and MV. When correlated to visual functions, VA and CS, a worsening of the VA was accompanied every time by a worsening of the CS in both the CG and SG. When VA and CS are correlated to FT and MV, there was worsening of visual function whenever macular thickness increased. Of the seven patients excluded from the study by presenting VH, 5 belonged to the CG and the 2 to the SG. There was no incidence of cataracts, endophthalmitis and/or significant increase in intraocular pressure. CONCLUSION: In high-risk PDR, intraocular injections of Bevacizumab as an adjuvant treatment to PRP, can stabilize VA, CS, FT and MV, reduce of the incidence of VH and decrease the macular thickness. Regarding the correlation between variables, when there was a worsening of VA, this was accompanied by a worsening of the CS, and an increase in FT and MV caused the worsening of the VA and CS

Ein neuer Anfang? : Probleme der Informationsstrukturierung bei der Übersetzung eines deutschen Sachtextes ins SchwedischeJohansson, Emmelie January 2012 (has links)
This essay deals with translation changes taking place when translating two information-dense German texts into Swedish. The study focuses on the preverbal position of V2 declaratives, i.e. on the so called pre-field in German and Swedish sentences. This position plays an important role for the structuring of information, both at the intra-sentential and at the inter-sentential level. The aim of the study is therefore to investigate to what extent the information structure of the source text is carried over to the target text. A quantitative sentence-by-sentence analysis of the pre-fields of the source and target text shows many cases of re-structuring and re-writing have taken place during the translation process. A closer examination of those changes reveals some tendencies regarding the translation of the German pre-fields. In many cases text-initial rhematic (not previously mentioned) subjects of the source text have been replaced with time adverbials which function as so-called frame topics in the target text. Also, heavy, information-dense pre-fields of the source text have been split into two or more sentences in the target text. Furthermore there has been a “neutralization” of so-called marked structures of the source text. While those marked structures are used to achieve communicative effects in the source text, equal effects are mostly achieved by lexical means in the target text. The genre and style of the texts proved to play an important role for the choice between keeping and abandoning the information structure of the source text.

Multi-modality imaging of atherosclerotic plaque using optical coherence tomography / Imagerie multi-modalité en tomographie par cohérence optique de la plaque d’athéroscléroseGerbaud, Edouard 15 September 2016 (has links)
Les technologies d'imagerie intravasculaire c’est à dire l’échographie endo-coronaire (IVUS)et la tomographie par cohérence optique (IV-OCT) sont des outils précieux pour aider audiagnostic de la plaque d’athérosclérose et guider les gestes thérapeutiques.Le chapitre 1 présente les inconvénients de la coronarographie dans la pratique clinique.Dans plusieurs circonstances, l’IVUS et l’OCT ont clairement une valeur supplémentaire quandils sont utilisés comme un outil diagnostique en cas d'ambiguïtés angiographiques. Nousavons récemment rapporté la première observation utilisant l’OCT pour décrire une dissectioncoronaire d'une branche septale perforante responsable d’un infarctus du myocarde.Le chapitre 2 porte sur la reproductibilité de I’OCT entre différents instituts concernant denombreux paramètres qualitatifs et quantitatifs de la plaque d'athérome. Le but de notre étudeétait d'étudier en plus de la reproductibilité inter- et intra-observateur, la variabilité inter-institutsde I’OCT concernant les mesures quantitatives et qualitatives et de la comparer à celle del’IVUS. Dans ce travail, nous avons observé que, dans la mesure de la surface de la lumièreendocoronaire, des diamètres minimum et maximum de cette même lumière endocoronaire,de la surface endo-luminale du stent, des diamètres minimum et maximum endo-luminaux dustent, par des analystes provenant de 2 laboratoires différents, la reproductibilité inter-institutsde I’OCT était nettement supérieure à celle de l’IVUS. Le Chapitre 3 présente 2 nouvelles technologies robustes d'imagerie intravasculaire hybridesdéveloppées dans le laboratoire du Professeur Guillermo J. Tearney: l’OCT couplée à laspectroscopie dans le proche infra-rouge (OFDI-NIRS) et l’OCT couplée à l’autofluorescencedans le proche infra-rouge (OFDI-NIRAF). Les premières procédures d’OFDI-NIRS chezl’homme sont prévues dans un avenir proche. Les premières procédures chez l’homme ontété réalisées chez 12 patients porteurs d’un angor stable entre Juillet 2014 et Janvier 2015.Les résultats de cette étude pilote ont montré que le signal d’autofluorescence recueilli(NIRAF) a été focalement trés élevé dans des endroits de la plaque d’athérome où la plupartdes phénotypes morphologiques en OCT d’une plaque à haut risque de rupture étaientévidents. Les substrats biochimiques de ce signal d’autofluorescence (NIRAF) sont encore àélucider. / Intravascular imaging technologies i.e. IVUS and IV-OCT are valuable tools for interventionguidance and diagnostic plaque imaging.Chapter 1 introduces the drawbacks of coronary angiography in the clinical practice. In severalcircumstances, IVUS and IV-OCT have clearly an additional value when they are used as adiagnosis tool in case of angiographic ambiguities. We recently reported the first observationusing IV-OCT to describe a coronary dissection of a septal perforating branch causing AMI.Chapter 2 focuses on the inter-institute reliability of IV-OCT to determine qualitative andquantitative parameters of atherosclerotic plaque. The purpose of our study was to investigatefurther inter- and intra-observer reproducibility, the inter-institute variability for IV-OCT (OFDI)quantitative and qualitative measurements vs. IVUS measurements using publishedconsensus document definitions. In our work, we observed that in the measurement of lumenCSA, maximum and minimum lumen diameters, stent CSA, maximum and minimum stentdiameters by analysts from 2 different laboratories, inter-institute reproducibility of OFDI wasfound to be more consistent than IVUS.Chapter 3 present 2 new robust hybrid intravascular imaging technologies developed in Dr.Tearney’s laboratory i.e. OFDI-NIRS and OFDI-NIRAF, which may offer supplementary criteriafor plaque vulnerability. First-in-human OFDI-NIRS imaging procedures are anticipated in thenear future. First-in-human OFDI-NIRAF imaging procedures have been performed in a firstpioneering series of 12 stable patients between July 2014 and January 2015. Findings of thispilot study showed that NIRAF was focally elevated in plaque locations where most high-riskmorphologic phenotypes were evident. The biochemical substrates of the NIRAF signal stillhave to be elucidated.

Méthodes de microscopie par holographie numérique interférentielle en couleurs avec un éclairage partiellement cohérentDohet-Eraly, Jérôme 19 April 2017 (has links)
La présente thèse traite de méthodes en microscopie holographique numérique (MHN) en couleurs, avec un éclairage de cohérence spatiale partielle. Le principal inconvénient de la microscopie optique classique est sa faible profondeur de champ, rendant difficile l’observation de phénomènes dynamiques dans des échantillons épais. Au contraire, la MHN offre une reconstruction en profondeur grâce à la propagation numérique de l’hologramme. La MHN interférométrique donne aussi le contraste quantitatif de la phase, utile pour analyser des objets transparents. Un éclairage à plusieurs longueurs d’onde dans une configuration appropriée permet la MHN en couleurs. L’imagerie en flux et en couleurs de particules en MHN est ici développée, avec une méthode pour la correction automatique de la balance des couleurs et des défauts permanents. Elle est appliquée pour l’analyse du plancton dans des échantillons d’eau de surface et fournit des images de haute qualité pour les intensité et phase optiques. En outre, la réduction du bruit obtenue en diminuant la cohérence spatiale de l’éclairage en MHN est également étudiée, avec deux modèles évaluant quantitativement ce phénomène en fonction de la cohérence spatiale de la lumière et de la distance entre la source de bruit et le plan d’enregistrement. De plus, la MHN différentielle est aussi abordée. Celle-ci fournit les phases différentielles, la phase étant calculée par intégration. Cependant, les défauts présents conduisent à des aberrations lors du calcul de la phase, qui affectent sa qualité et empêchent la reconstruction holographique. Un traitement spécifique est développé, permettant la reconstruction numérique en profondeur. Enfin, en MHN, un critère est essentiel pour déterminer automatiquement la distance de netteté de l’objet. Deux critères de netteté sont ici mis au point, fonctionnant indépendamment de la nature de l’objet observé (amplitude, phase ou mixte). L’un, monochromatique, est basé sur l’analyse de l’amplitude et sur un filtrage passe-haut ;l’autre, qui détecte rapidement le plan de netteté en MHN en couleurs, compare la phase dans le domaine de Fourier entre les couleurs. Les méthodes développées dans la thèse montrent le potentiel élevé de la MHN en couleurs avec un éclairage partiellement cohérent spatialement, suggérant un avenir prometteur pour cette technique. / The thesis deals with methods and developments in color digital holographic microscopy (DHM), with a partial spatial coherence illumination. The principal drawback of classical optical microscopy is its poor depth of field, which makes difficult the observation of dynamic phenomena in thick samples. On the contrary, DHM provides reconstruction in depth thanks to numeric propagation of the recorded hologram. Another feature of interferometric DHM is the quantitative phase contrast imaging, useful for analyzing transparent objects. Usual DHM is limited to monochromatic case, but multispectral illumination in an appropriate setup leads to color DHM. Color in-flow imaging of particles in DHM is developed in the thesis, with a method for the automatic correction of color balance and permanent defects. It is applied to analyze plankton microorganisms in untreated pond water samples, and provides high quality images, for both optical phase and intensity. Moreover, noise reduction obtained when decreasing the spatial coherence of the illumination in DHM is also investigated in the thesis, with the development of two models that quantitatively assess the noise reduction as a function of both the spatial coherence of the illumination, and the defocus distance of the noise source. Furthermore, differential DHM (DDHM) is also studied in the thesis. As DHM gives the optical phase, DDHM provides differential phases, from which phase is retrieved by integration. However, misalignments and defects give some aberrations, which affect phase quality and hinder refocusing. A specific hologram processing is developed, giving an accurate phase image and enabling holographic reconstruction in depth. Finally, in DHM, a criterion is essential to automatically achieve the refocusing distance of the object. Two refocusing criteria are developed in the thesis, both working independently of the nature of the observed object (amplitude, phase, or both mixed). The first one, monochromatic, is based on amplitude analysis and on a high-pass filtering process. The second one, which gives fast refocusing in multispectral DHM, compares the phase in the Fourier domain among wavelengths. Implémentation électronique d'un oscillateur non linéaire soumis au bruit : application à la modélisation du codage neuronal de l'information / Electronic implementation of a non-linear oscillator subjected to noise : application to the modeling of neuronal information codingLassere, Gaëtan 16 September 2011 (has links)
Dans cette thèse, le comportement d'un modèle mathématique permettant de transcrire la dynamique neuronale est étudié : le système de FitzHugh-Nagumo. En particulier, nous nous intéressons au caractère aléatoire d'ouverture et de fermeture des canaux ioniques d'un neurone qui reçoit ou non un stimulus. Ce caractère aléatoire de la dynamique neuronale est considéré, dans notre modèle, comme un bruit. Dans un premier temps, le comportement du modèle de FitzHugh-Nagumo a été caractérisé au voisinage de la bifurcation d'Andronov-Hopf qui traduit la transition entre l'état d'activation et l'état de repos du neurone. Classiquement, un neurone positionné à l'état de repos ne produit aucun potentiel d'action. Cependant, il a été montré un phénomène pour lequel une quantité appropriée de bruit permet la production de potentiels d'action des plus réguliers : la résonance cohérente. Le deuxième effet observé lors de simulations numériques permet au neurone d'améliorer la détection et l'encodage d'un signal subliminal : il s'agit de la résonance stochastique. De plus, cette thèse s'inscrit dans un contexte électronique puisqu'en plus de simuler numériquement le système de FitzHugh-Nagumo, les résultats de simulations ont également été confirmés en réalisant un circuit électronique. En effet, nous avons reproduit la dynamique non linéaire du système de FitzHugh-Nagumo à l'aide de ce circuit électronique. Cela a permis de mettre en évidence expérimentalement les deux phénomènes de résonance cohérente et de résonance stochastique pour lesquelles le bruit peut avoir une influence constructive sur le comportement de notre circuit électronique. / We study the nonlinear FitzHugh-Nagumo model witch describes the dynamics of excitable neural element. It is well known that this system exhibits three different possible responses. Indeed, the system can be mono-stable, oscillatory or bistable. In the oscillatory regime, the system periodically responds by generating action potential. By contrast, in the mono-stable state the system response remains constant after a transient. Under certain conditions, the system can undergo a bifurcation between the stable and the oscillatory regime via the so called Andronov-Hopf bifurcation. In this Phd thesis, we consider the FitzHugh-Nagumo model in the stable state, that is set near the Andronov-Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, we take into account the contribution of noise witch can induces two phenomena coherence resonance and stochastic resonance. First, without external driving, we show the effect of coherence resonance since a critical noise level enhances the regularity of the system response. Another numerical investigation reports how noise can allow to detect a subthreshold deterministic signal applied to the system. In this case, an appropriate amount of noise maximizes the signal to noise ratio reveling the stochastic resonance signature. Besides this numerical studies, we have also built a non linear circuit simulating the FitzHugh-Nagumo model under the presence of noise. This circuit has allowed to confirm experimentally the numerical observation of stochastic resonance and coherence resonance. Therefor, this electronic circuit contributes a framework for further experimental investigation in the field of neural sciences to better understand the role of noise in neural encoding.

Generation and interfacing of single-photon light with matter and control of ultrafast atomic dynamics for quantum information processing / Génération et interfaçage de lumière à photon unique et contrôle de la dynamique atomique ultra-rapide pour l’information quantiqueGogyan, Anahit 11 October 2010 (has links)
Nous développons un mécanisme robuste et réaliste pour la génération de photons uniques indiscernables avec des impulsions de fréquence et de polarisation identiques. Ils sont produits à la demande à partir d'un système couplé atome- cavité double-Raman en interaction avec une séquence d'impulsions laser de pompe. Ce processus combine un rendement élevé, la capacité de produire une séquence d'impulsions de photons uniques à bande étroite avec un retard déterminé seulement par le taux de répétition de la pompe, avec la simplicité du système libre de complications comme le repompage et le déphasage de l'environnement.Nous proposons et analysons un schéma simple de conversion paramétrique de fréquence pour l'information quantique optique dans des ensembles atomiques froids. Ses propriétés remarquables sont des pertes réduites, une distorsion de la forme des impulsions minimale, ainsi que la persistance de la cohérence quantique et de l’intrication. Une conversion efficace de fréquence entre les différentes régions spectrales est montrée. Une méthode de génération d’états caractérisant des photons uniques intriqués en fréquence est discutée.Nous proposons un mécanisme robuste et simple d'excitation cohérente de molécules et d’atomes en une superposition d'états pré-sélectionnés par un train d'impulsions laser femtoseconde, combinée avec un champ de couplage à largeur de bande étroite.La théorie des battements quantiques pour la génération du rayonnement ultra-violet par mélange à quatre ondes dans des expériences pompe-sonde est développée. Les résultats sont en bon accord avec les données expérimentales observées dans la vapeur de Rb lorsque les fluctuations de phase laser sont importantes. / We develop a robust and realistic mechanism for the generation of indistinguishable single-photon (SP) pulses with identical frequency and polarization. They are produced on demand from a coupled double-Raman atom-cavity system driven by a sequence of laser pump pulses. This scheme features a high efficiency, the ability to produce a sequence of narrow-band SP pulses with a delay determined only by the pump repetition rate, and simplicity of the system free from complications such as repumping process and environmental dephasing. We propose and analyze a simple scheme of parametric frequency conversion for optical quantum information in cold atomic ensembles. Its remarkable properties are minimal losses and distortion of the pulse shape, and the persistence of quantum coherence and entanglement. Efficient conversion of frequency between different spectral regions is shown. A method for the generation of frequency-entangled single photon states is discussed. We suggest a robust and simple mechanism for the coherent excitation of molecules or atoms to a superposition of pre-selected states by a train of femtosecond laser pulses, combined with narrow-band coupling field. The theory of quantum beatings in the generation of ultra-violet radiation via a four wave mixing in pump-probe experiments is developed. The results are in good agreement with experimental data observed in Rb vapor when the laser phase fluctuations are significant.
