Influência da revisão de atividades executadas para melhoria da acurácia na estimativa de software utilizando planning poker / Influence of the reviewing of executed activities to improve accuracy using planning poker

Introdução – A área de pesquisa de estimativa de esforço de software busca melhorar a acurácia das estimativas de projetos e atividades de software. Objetivo – Este trabalho descreve o desenvolvimento e uso de uma ferramenta web de coleta de dados gerados durante a execução da técnica de estimativa Planning Poker e a análise dos dados coletados para investigação do impacto da revisão de dados históricos de esforço. Método – Foram realizadas estimativas com e sem revisão, em experimentos com alunos de computação da Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, coletando os dados relacionados à tomada de decisão em uma ferramenta web. Após isso, foi analisado o impacto causado pelas revisões na acurácia da estimativa de esforço de software utilizando Planning Poker. Resultados Obtidos – Foi analisado o comportamento de 14 grupos de estimativas. Dentre esses times, 8 deles tiveram uma melhora na acurácia maior que 50% das estimativas analisadas. Em 3 deles, a soma das estimativas que tiveram melhora com as estimativas que permaneceram estáveis ultrapassou os 50%. Em apenas 3 deles, as estimativas tiveram redução de acurácia maior que 50%. Conclusões – A Revisão de Atividades Executadas, utilizando Planning Poker, melhorou a estimativa de esforço na maioria dos casos analisados, podendo ser um importante método para aprimorar o processo de desenvolvimento de software. / Abstract – Background – The software effort estimation research area aims to improve the accuracy of this estimation in software projects and activities. Aims – This study describes the development and usage of a web application tocollect data generated from the Planning Poker estimation process and the analysis of the collected data to investigate the impact of revising previous estimates when conducting similar estimates in a Planning Poker context. Method – Software activities were estimated by Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR) computer students, using Planning Poker, with and without revising previous similar activities, storing data regarding the decision-making process. And the collected data was used to investigate the impact that revising similar executed activities have in the software effort estimates' accuracy.Obtained Results – The UTFPR computer students were divided into 14 groups. Eight of them showed accuracy increase in more than half of their estimates. Three of them had almost the same accuracy in more than half of their estimates. And only three of them had loss of accuracy in more than half of their estimates. Conclusion – Reviewing the similar executed software activities, when using Planning Poker, led to more accurate software estimates in most cases, and, because of that, can improve the software development process.

Organizações de software contam com esse mecanismo para a realização de projetos. Essas organizações, quando maduras, definem uma série de modelos de documento de software para apoiar o processo de documentação. Adicionalmente, as mesmas contam com processos e mecanismos para registrar o histórico evolutivo dos documentos envolvidos em um projeto. A quantidade de documentos gerados durante o ciclo de vida de um projeto de software pode ser consideravelmente grande. Apesar dos sistemas de controle de versão facilitarem o controle da evolução dos documentos, os mesmos não são capazes de apoiar a integração e a visualização objetiva de suas informações. Somado a isso, documentos são normalmente tratados como um mero conjunto de caracteres com estilos de formatação voltados para renderização em ferramentas de edição de texto (em inglês, document authoring tool). Neste contexto, a adição de metadados baseados em ontologias de domínio apoia o desenvolvimento de documentos semânticos que podem ser utilizados para contornar esse cenário. O processo de anotação semântica de documentos, quando feito de forma manual, é enfadonho e suscetível a erros. O uso de modelos de documento com anotações semânticas é uma opção viável para a automatização parcial desse processo. Assim, a união de mecanismos de integração contidos em sistemas de controle de versão e modelos de documento de software semanticamente anotados é um meio potencial de apoiar a integração de informações e, por conseguinte, a execução de projetos de software. Esta dissertação trata da utilização de modelos de documento de software anotados semanticamente e mecanismos de controle de versão para registrar a evolução do conteúdo semântico existente em documentos gerados e para prover serviços de integração e visibilidade dos dados relativos aos documentos. Para tal, uma Plataforma para Gerenciamento de Documentos Semânticos é definida / Documents are important mechanisms to register and disseminate knowledge and allow communication between human beings. Software Organizations use this mechanism to conduct projects. When these organizations reach a certain level of maturity they tend to use software document models in order to support the documentation process. Additionally, organizations count on processes and mechanisms to track the evolution of documents involved in a project. The amount of documents produced during a software project lifecycle can be considerably large. Despite the fact that version control systems support document centralization they are not capable of support information integration and visibility. Summing up, documents are treated as a set of characters tied with formatting styles because their primary goal is to be well rendered on a document authoring tool. In this context, adding domain ontology based metadata can help developing semantic documents, which, in turn, can help overcoming this scenario. Manual Semantic Annotation is notably dull and error prone. Combining document models semantic annotation is a viable option in order to achieve the annotation process automatization. Thus, uniting integration mechanisms provided by version control systems and software document models semantically annotated is a potential way of supporting information integration and, therefore, executing software projects. This work treats the use of software document models annotated semantically and version control mechanisms to track and register the evolution of a semantic document content (instantiated from a semantic model) and the provision of data visibility and integration services. The goal of the research is to assess the influence of contingent factors about setting and changing the system of managerial control of a group for classifying it as descriptive case study, bibliographic, documentary, qualitative and quantitative survey. The target population of the survey were the directors and managers of a group for the North region of Brazil, with 70 years of existence and 22 companies, having been validated 28 questionnaires. Were used Cronbach's alpha, descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling (MEE). The results indicated that the economic group faces a scenario with high level of complexity and diversity and that the most important strategies are speed in delivery, effective after-sales service, the broad distribution channel and low-cost production, in addition to the heavy use of financial and non-financial indicators, with decisions based on the goals of the planning. The economic group is proud of the social and environmental actions that undertakes, positioning within the Organization of sustainable best practices, using the marketing in favor of appreciation of your image and brands. It was concluded that: (i) the internal contingencies influence the SCG configuration; (ii) the internal contingencies has low influence on the changes in SCG, which occurs indirectly through the SGC configuration; (iii) the configuration of the SGC and the environment have a direct influence on the mutation of the SCG; (iv) external factors have little influence on the occurrence of internal contingent factors; (v) external contingent factors not directly influence the SCG configuration of the economic group. / O sistema de controle gerencial (SCG) é moldado pelo ambiente e pelos fatores contingenciais que o cercam, sendo que a estrutura do SCG e os artefatos de contabilidade gerencial usados dependem da habilidade de adaptação dos fatores internos às mudanças do ambiente. O objetivo da pesquisa é avaliar a influência de fatores contingenciais sobre a configuração e mutação do sistema de controle gerencial de um grupo econômico, classificando-se como descritiva, estudo de caso, documental, bibliográfica, de levantamento, qualitativa e quantitativa. A população alvo da pesquisa foram os diretores e gerentes de um grupo econômico da região Norte do Brasil, com 70 anos de existência e 22 empresas, tendo sido validados 28 questionários. Foram usados alfa de Cronbach, estatística descritiva e modelagem de equações estruturais (MEE). Os resultados indicaram que o grupo econômico enfrenta um cenário com alto nível de complexidade e diversidade e que as estratégias mais importantes são a velocidade na entrega, o efetivo serviço de pós-venda, o canal de distribuição amplo e a produção a baixo custo, além do uso intenso de indicadores financeiros e não financeiros, com decisões fundamentadas sobre as metas do planejamento. O grupo econômico tem orgulho das ações sociais e ambientais que realiza, posicionando a organização entre as de melhores práticas sustentáveis, usando o marketing em favor da valorização de sua imagem e marcas. Concluiu-se que: (i) as contingências internas influenciam a configuração do SCG; (ii) as contingências internas tem baixa influência sobre as mutações do SCG, o que ocorre de maneira indireta por meio da configuração do SCG; (iii) a configuração do SCG e o ambiente possuem influência direta sobre a mutação do SCG; (iv) fatores externos pouco influenciam na ocorrência dos fatores contingenciais internos e; (v) os fatores contingenciais externos não influenciam diretamente na configuração do SCG do grupo econômico.

This thesis deals with the application of the functional packaging system Nix and its ecosystem (NixOS, NixOps) for CI/CD in agile development. When using these technologies, the problems caused by different environments are virtually eliminated without the need of containerization. The thesis contains a description of the possibilities and the shortcomings of Nix/NixOps and it proposes a general procedure for the use of these technologies in individual phases of agile development and CI/CD. Thanks to Nix/NixOps, the implementation of CI/CD is very simple and the whole process is also reproducible. The output of the work is a set of the examples demonstrating the use of Nix/NixOps in various projects, which is available as open-source. Thanks to this set, the developers can use Nix quickly and easily in any project, without having to study a large amount of materials.

Main focus of this thesis is creating workaround for ITIL processes in service desk systems. As a objective with highest priority was to choose service desk systems, then create interface which can make possible communication between service boards and selected processes. I described also in generally meaning ITIL library, common service desk functions and important ITIL processes. Management of incidents, problems, changes and configurations is based on a set of processes, which are able to manipulate with interface. Web services are main tool of implemented API for working with these processes. In conclusion are also presented several scenarios to demonstrate communication between clients and service across the board created interface.

Implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System To Manage Genomic Samples

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / A Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is designed to manage laboratory processes and data. It has the ability to extend the core functionality of the LIMS through configuration tools and add-on modules to support the implementation of complex laboratory workflows. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate how laboratory data and processes from a complex workflow can be implemented using a LIMS. Genomic samples have become an important part of the drug development process due to advances in molecular testing technology. This technology evaluates genomic material for disease markers and provides efficient, cost-effective, and accurate results for a growing number of clinical indications. The preparation of the genomic samples for evaluation requires a complex laboratory process called the precision aliquotting workflow. The precision aliquotting workflow processes genomic samples into precisely created aliquots for analysis. The workflow is defined by a set of aliquotting scheme attributes that are executed based on scheme specific rules logic. The aliquotting scheme defines the attributes of each aliquot based on the achieved sample recovery of the genomic sample. The scheme rules logic executes the creation of the aliquots based on the scheme definitions. LabWare LIMS is a Windows® based open architecture system that manages laboratory data and workflow processes. A LabWare LIMS model was developed to implement the precision aliquotting workflow using a combination of core functionality and configured code.

The complex business applications are increasingly offered as services over the Internet, so-called software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. The SAP Netweaver Cloud offers an OSGI-based open platform, which enables multi-tenant SaaS applications to run in the cloud. A multi-tenant SaaS application is designed so that an application instance is used by several customers and their users. As different customers have different requirements for functionality and quality of the application, the application instance must be configurable. Therefore, it must be able to add new configurations into a multi-tenant SaaS application at run-time. In this thesis, we proposed concepts of a configuration management, which are used for managing and creating client configurations of cloud applications. The concepts are implemented in a tool that is based on Eclipse and extended feature models. 適合台灣製造業CMDB導入方法之研究

隨著企業越來越重視資訊科技服務管理及流程效能的議題,加上過去兩年由國內外資訊大廠所倡導的ITIL觀念也漸漸成形,部分大型企業已開始依據ITIL所定義的資訊處理流程,逐步導入於其企業內部作業流程中。除了ITIL標準與解決方案外,如何有效地建置CMDB 成為實施ITIL重要的一環。 根據itSMF於2006提出的分析,導入ITIL時,企業主要面臨的幾項挑戰,包括: 1. 組織成員是否願意接受、付出及執行。 2. 高階管理階層是否願意支持、並提供足夠的資源。 3. 如何將ITIL整合到現有的管理流程、執行及評價ITIL的成功價值。 4. 設計及具體呈現ITIL的執行過程。 5. 如何建立一個合適的組織架構、如角色定位、責任及權利劃分……等。 6. 如何獲得及整合各種支援技術或工具。 ITIL 所強調「IT 即業務,業務即IT」的資訊化社會之成形,也是必然的發展方向。從各學術期刊文獻中可以找出以ITIL 為研究主題之學術論文,然而,卻難以找到以ITIL 之核心 CMDB為探討主題之學術論文。本研究從探討台灣製造業電子化特性,佐以各家導入CMDB的方法論,透過案例分析探討導入CMDB 之方法論,推論出台灣製造業導入CMDB前考慮之特性以及更適合台灣的製造業之CMDB之導入方法論。藉由此四大階段的CMDB導入方法,能協助資訊部門在導入 CMDB時能有一個指引可遵循,能夠有效率的導入CMDB,達到Quick Win的目標。效益包括: 1. 依據ITIL或BSM 藍圖,找出企業IT 服務管理問題所在。 並由台灣製造業商業模式,製造模式及運籌模式推出製造業導入CMDB前考慮的特性,得出核心服務並定義服務模型,依重要狀況先後導入。 2. 從四家CMDB導入方法整理出四大階段,此四大階段導入方法符合製造業快速得出成效的要求,並定義每一階段步驟、里程碑及產出文件。 3. 台灣製造業可將此方法論做為導入CMDB 之參考。其他產業亦可將此方法論做為參考。企業可根據實際情況,決定自那個階段切入。 / As the concept of ITIL is widely being promoted across various industries, the topics of IT Service Management and Process Availability are becoming the focal points for many enterprises. Many large enterprises have already implemented ITIL-compliant processes throughout their internal IT organizations. Among many ITIL-related projects, the effective and efficient implementation of CMDB is of particular importance. Nevertheless, it is hard to find research conducted on CMDB, the integral component of ITIL, even though there is no shortage of academic literature on ITIL subject alone. This thesis seeks to define the pre-implementation requirements and implementation methodologies of CMDB that are most suited to manufacturing industries in Taiwan through the application of case studies. The focus on business priority is no doubt the next step in the IT evolution. This paper seeks to assist IT organizations accomplishing the goals of implementing CMDB effectively and efficiently, and define the critical success factors needed to achieve quick wins. The benefits include: 1. Explore the issues within the enterprise IT Service Management with the help of ITIL or Business Service Management Blueprint. Define CMDB’s pre-implementation requirements, implementation phases, and the resulting service models while considering the unique business model and strategy-making processes of Taiwanese manufacturing industries. 2. Consolidate the four CMDB implementation phases necessary to achieve quick-wins from four CMDB implementation cases, and define the procedures, milestones and deliverables of each phase. 3. This four-phase methodology can act as the reference to CMDB implementation not only to Taiwanese manufacturing industries, but other industries as well. Enterprises can decide the most suitable phase to initiate the CMDB project as they see fit.

This report explains the need to develop a configuration manager that handles transmission equipment which exists in the Swedish Defence telecommunications network. The configuration module will display the configurations and compatibility among the equipment and their software which are all part of the network. Also included in this report are tools, methods and results for the development of a prototype for the configuration manager. The prototype consists fundamentally of a database assisted by a user friendly website. The transmission equipment handles a lot of important transmission of information and is in the hands of a department of SAAB, OFGCA, by orders from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Within the work included in this order exists a continuous update of both software and hardware which the equipment consists of. Therefore it’s highly important that there is a monitoring of which of the software and hardware is compatible with one another, ensuring that the functions of the system work properly. The consistent updating has resulted in compatibility issues between components and because of this, a need for a configuration manager has arisen. / Den här rapporten uttrycker behovet av att ta fram en konfigurationsmodul för transmissionsutrustningar som ingår i Försvarets telenät (FTN). Konfigurationsmodulen ska mätta ett behov av att kunna se konfigurationerna och kompatibilitet för de utrustningar samt dess programvaror som ingår i telenätet. Rapporten inkluderar även verktyg, metoder och resultat för framtagningen av en prototyp till konfigurationsmodulen. Prototypen består i grunden av en databas med en tillhörande, interaktionsvänlig, hemsida. Transmissionsutrustningarna hanterar en mängd viktig informationsöverföring och en avdelning på Saab, OFGCA, ansvarar för dessa på uppdrag av Försvarets materialverk (FMV). I arbetet som uppdraget innebär pågår en ständig uppdatering av både mjuk- och hårdvara som utrustningarna består av. Det innebär att det är mycket viktigt att det utförs övervakning av vilka mjuk- och hårdvaruversioner som är kompatibla. Detta för att säkerställa att systemets funktioner fungerar korrekt. Den ständiga uppdateringen har medfört kompatibilitetsproblem mellan komponenter och därför har det växt fram ett behov av att ta fram en konfigurationsmodul.
