Recognizing cultural value infood : Case study of Pike-Perch in Hjälmaren & Mälaren,Sweden

Saax, Michaela January 2021 (has links)
Food culture emerges as a social culture and can be summarized through its historicaldevelopment process. The exploration of socio-cultural analysis of food with sociologicalapproaches has emerged in research due to the increased awareness of modern societies’motivations to discover other cultures through food. However, in the context of Sweden, limitations exist in analyzing the continuous ongoing process of a food product’s cultural valueand its potential ‘added value to local cultural expression. This research focuses on evaluatingPike-Perch’s culture value through its historical developed process and how utilization of theproduct has established present brand identity. By targeting the local stakeholder community, theperception of Pike-Perch’s recognized cultural value could be captured and utilized as addedvalue for local cultural expression. The stakeholder’s perspectives were collected via interviewsand observations through the geographical boundaries connected to the lakes of Mälaren andHjälmaren. The findings point towards a recent transformation of Pike-Perch market value, giving the fish a new sociological appearance. As a result, a change of traditional utilization hasreinvented/reproduced Pike-Perch with a different positioning within its socio-cultural setting. The stakeholders acknowledge the success in its development process that has establishedpresent identity; however, to the cost of preserving its intangible heritage. In return, thetraditional food culture appeared fragmented. By reintroducing traditional elements from the pastthat satisfy the imaginations and need for visitors to acknowledge its distinctiveness, the brandcould be strengthened and potentially justify its new market position. This research contributedto understanding the value of food culture from a stakeholder perspective and how post-modernsocieties influence its potential for sustainable destination development.

Ombyggnad av takkonstruktionen på Östermalms Saluhall : Utformning av tilläggsisolering med hänsyn till byggnadens kulturhistoriska värden / Reconstruction of the roof structure on Östermalms Saluhall : The formation of additional insulation considering the building's cultural historical values

Bergman, Anna, Ehrenberg, Edda January 2014 (has links)
At the rebuilding of Östermalms Saluhall a proposal has been made to add insulation to the roof. The cultural historical values of the building is set against reconstruction requirements of the building regulations made by the National board of Housing, Building and Planning. Today, requirements for a new construction are the same as for an reconstruction of a building. Contradictions therefore arise in the rebuilding of the market hall because of the difficulty to achieve the construction requirements as well as the reconstruction requirements for the parts that are to be changed. The parts that are studied is two details of the roof and they are designed and analysed by technical building aspects, cultural historical values and by legal requirements. The cultural historical values are threatened by redevelopment, but at the same time Stockholm City wants to maximize the energy efficiency of the building. The study is therefore focusing on how to best maximize energy efficiency of the building and follow the redevelopment requirements that exist without corrupting the building.

The relationship between individualistic and collectivistic value orientations and early career indecision

Lock, Elizabeth 06 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between early career indecision and individualistic and collectivistic cultural value orientations amongst new entrants to the workplace. The INDCOL (Triandis, 1995) was used to gather information on the vertical and horizontal scales of the individualism and collectivism of respondents, while the Career Decision Scale (CDS) (Osipow, 1987) was used to gather information on the levels of career certainty and career indecision. A sample of convenience of N=115 new entrants to the workplace in a typical South African governmental organisation was used. The results indicated that there is no relationship between individualistic and collectivistic cultural value orientations and career indecision and that biographical variables have no relationship with early career indecision. However, it was found that the biographical variables of race and gender may have a significant impact on the cultural value orientations of individuals in the South African work context.

Nilsson, Erika January 2005 (has links)

In 1999 the Swedish Parliament decided about 15 environmental goals aimed to be achieved in time for the next generation. For example physical social planning must be based on programs and strategies how cultural-historical values has been attended, so called programs of cultural heritage. By law the Swedish municipalities are responsible for reaching these goals by creating program of cultural heritage. But only a few of the municipalities have these programs, meaning that many municipalities need to create programs of cultural heritage in the next five years.

The aim of this report is to present a model of analysis on programs of cultural heritage in municipalities for preservation and development of cultural environments. By testing the model on the municipalities of Osby and Tomelilla methods on how to create a new program of cultural heritage or how to complete existing documents are formulated.

One of the conclusions is that one document, program of cultural heritage, functions as landscape analysis, model of cultural valuation and strategy of developing cultural values. One condition is that the program of cultural heritage is established in social planning in the municipality.

Two case-studies, the Osby and Tomelilla programs of cultural heritage with text-analysis and interviews, constitutes the study. The municipalities do not use these programs in full extension, often based on ignorance. When the program isn’t established with politicians or employees it can’t be established with citizens. The study shows great differences between the program in Tomelilla which can be applied to the physical social planning, and the program in Osby which can’t. The conclusion is that the program needs to be adjusted for the cause if the program can’t be applied in the hysical social planning in the municipality.

The common meaning in the municipalities is that cultural heritage is a positive factor, which makes it possible to reach the environmental goals, regional development, tourism et cetera. One important part in a program of cultural heritage is to erase the boundaries between nature, recreation and culture by finding the starting point in the specific environment, not based on the administrative responsibility.

Allianz zur Erhaltung des schriftlichen Kulturguts - Restaurierung und Digitalisierung

14 March 2011 (has links) (PDF)

Taiwan society change and telecommunications advertisement content: Chunghwa Telecom Mobile Business Branch as an example

Unknown Date (has links)
This study uses advertising strategy, advertising appeal, advertising form and content, gender role and cultural value as variables, to discuss the relationship between TV commercials content and social changes.
