Previous issue date: 2016-03-04 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Digital culture - forged by the information revolution of the 60s by the advent of new information technologies and communication, especially the computer and the Internet - has constituted this century a social process of long unplanned duration, inaugurating a new social and cultural space: cyberspace. The world has become culture, a culture-world, where power flows is more important than the power flows in an informational and global society. In this society in transformation, tecnichian process, whose technique is an anthropological constant, the notions of individual, species, society and culture, need to be (re) connected to understand the new ways of thinking, acting and feeling this new social context. Among the diverse cultural practices daily reading, it is one of the most important and is constituted as a reality shared meanings intersubjectively and expressed in language, constituent elements of social reality. Therefore, we sought to understand the impact of digital culture in the contemporary world, in everyday life and reading as a cultural practice, by knowing the contexts of social relations in social reality. The daily was considered as leverage the knowledge and theoretical and methodological route. We conducted a case study on a project developed in cyberspace, in a distance learning platform: the "Literary Virtual Itineraries: Guimarães Rosa". Through a virtual ethnography and a phenomenological approach, analyzed the social interactions of the participants understood as subjective meanings of social action and a relevant reference of the sociology of everyday life. As a universal manifestation of all men, literature is much closer to the sociological and analyzed experiment constituted a powerful source of cultural repertoire expansion. It proved to be an important gathering of information and communication technologies, in cyberspace, with the changes of reading as a cultural practice, and literature, enabling an understanding of the social context of digital culture and innovate in sociological do, as an intellectual craft / A cultura digital - forjada pela revolução informacional dos anos 60 pelo advento das novas tecnologias da informação e comunicação, principalmente do computador e da internet - vem se constituindo neste século num processo social de longa duração não planejado, inaugurando um novo espaço social e cultural: o ciberespaço.

Research has shown how the use of software, video, and other online materials are contributing to the teaching and learning of Mathematics. However, it is noticeable that the potentialities of the Internet have been poorly used in Mathematics classes. In this sense, even when the classroom – characterized by its complexity – uses internet resources, teaching and learning practices will mostly express a culture socially produced when the Internet was not present. Therefore, this research seeks to understand cultural practices (re)constituted in mathematics classes mediated by the Internet in a hybrid environment. The research is based on qualitative investigation, and on collaborative work between myself and two grade 10 teachers from public schools in the state of São Paulo. One school was a regular school in the city of Vinhedo, and the other was a technical school in the city of Nova Odessa. In both schools, classes were focused on the concept of function, and the features of a hybrid environment were considered during class implementation. Narrative analysis was used to communicate the knowledge built from the data produced in the two classrooms, which are acknowledged in this research as complex systems. As such, the data was analyzed from the lens of Complexity Science. Research outcomes show that teaching is facilitated by the potentialities of a hybrid environment in orde... January 2010 (has links)
The research presented in this thesis had as an object of study the relationships between the process of schooling and the process of reading appropriation from the perspective of the children at the beginning of their school life. The objective was to investigate the way children have taken with the reading since their last year in early childhood education, period when the teaching of reading is begun in a systematized way at school, until the middle of the first year of elementary school in order to understand, in a deeply way, the role that the school has in the appropriation of this activity by the learners. Studying the manner a particular group of children relate themselves to reading at school, it was tried to contribute to a rethink of more favorable rethink of educational policies and practices to the promotion of reading. The research was guided by Vigotski's (1993, 1995, 1996) and Bakhtin's (1995, 2003) studies, besides using ancient and recent studies and researches about the teaching of reading at school. The investigation work corresponded to a longitudinal study, based on a qualitative approach using the methodological strategic of ethnographic case study. The field research was realized in a municipal school of early childhood and elementary education (initial grades) in the city of Marília, state of São Paulo. The participants were 19 children, aged between 5 and 6 years old. The instruments used to obtain data were sessions of observation and semi-structured interviews, documental analysis and focal group. The results of the investigation showed that the reading is a cultural activity for children at the beginning of the process of schooling, and, due to the fact the teaching institution ignore this information, the process of formation of readers remains like a national problem, especially for distancing children from reading as an object of culture / Doutor

In this study, our purpose is to achieve a historical constitution of some school practices that mobilized the cultural object function, at the city of Campinas (SP), since the middle of 1960 decade until the mid of 1990 decade, a period in which Brazilian school mathematical education was under the remarkable influence of the new math movement. In this sense, we composed a documental support constituted by interviews with teachers, mathematical textbooks, curricular guides and proposals produced by the Coordenadoria de Ensino e Normas Pedagógicas (CENP) of the State of São Paulo. Based on the dialogue that we established with this documental support, we tried to give emphases, in that history of school practices of cultural mobilization, to the idiosyncratic properties of these practices, as to the values these practices transmitted, to the institutional conditional elements that gave form to the same practices and to the asymmetrical power relation that enveloped them / Doutorado / Educação Matematica / Doutor em Educação

Origine des altérations superficielles du tubercule de pomme de terre : de la microbiologie du sol à l'environnement pédo-climatique / Origins of the blemishes of potato tubers : from the soil microbiology to the pedoclimatic environmentFiers, Marie 21 June 2010 (has links)
The visual quality of fresh potatoes, Solanum tuberosum, became a dominant criterion and a significative economical issue in potato market. According the vegetative reproduction of this species, requirements for visual quality are also needed for potato seed tubers. As an organ for reserve and propagation, the tuber grows underground and is in contact with soil-borne microorganisms, making it potentially exposed to blemishes, for the majority of which the origin is still unclear. The objective of this work is to make an inventory of those tuber blemishes, to characterize them and determine their causes. After the establishment of consensual nomenclature and classification of the blemishes, two hypotheses were formulated: (1) blemishes are due to pathogenic attacks and/or (2) they result from a response of the plants to environmental stresses. The assessment of the first hypothesis allowed identifying a wide diversity of microorganisms living on the blemished tuber surface. Their pathogenicity was tested by several biological assays that allowed producing blemishes on progeny tubers and fulfilling the Koch's postulates for the fungus Rhizoctonia solani causing sclerotia. For many other blemishes no clear relationship was established between a microorganism and a blemish. A study of the microbial structure of the geocaulosphere of tubers blemished or not, showed that bacterial and fungal communities adopted different dynamics during the growing season and according to the sanitary status of the seed tuber, but no causality link could have been drawn. On the other hand, an increase of R. solani population around blemished tubers was observed. The diversity of strains of R. solani originating from France and from Europe and associated to the blemished tubers was characterized. The phylogenetic relationships between the strains were independent of the geographical origin and of the host cultivar, thus the existence of frequent genetic events and genetic mixing between the populations of R. solani was suggested. Concerning the potential implication of different abiotic factors, a survey conducted with farmers showed the implication of soil pH, some cultural practices, including the choice of the susceptible cultivars and meteorological conditions on the occurrence of some blemishes. This work made clear the blemish nomenclature, confirmed the implication of R. solani in the occurrence of some blemishes and suggested new hypotheses concerning the occurrence of blemishes as a plant response to a stressful environment. Thus, a path was opened toward the resolution of the issue asked by all the potato community, responsible for the marketing of a mass consumption fresh product and answering to market requirements related to visual and culinary qualities and to environmental friendly modes of production.

Analyse sémiologique des symboles traditionnels dans les discours politiques en Indonésie / Semiological analysis of traditional symbols in political discourse in IndonesiaPrawoto, Sigit 22 December 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with the use of traditional symbols in Indonesian politics. We have been interested in using these symbols in the presentation of political discourse in the community. Our field research during the general elections of 2014 shows that the subject of legitimacy is present at the heart of the electoral discourse. Politicians exploit the kinship network to create cultural legitimacy as chosen leaders for the community. They try to trace their genealogical ties with the great personality of the nation by supporting them in their electoral discourse through the media. This exploitation is authenticated by the popular belief that only individuals of great families (balung gedhé) from royalty can become their leaders. Some of the cultural practices are organized by politicians in sacred places to establish their legitimacy within the local community and through which people recognize their superiority. The incorporation and the use of traditional symbols in discourses are effective in attracting the attention of the people and in gaining electoral support. Political parties, politicians and the Election Commission at the local level employ these symbols and mythological characters to transmit their messages to citizens. Most politicians deliberately take the image of these mythological figures to serve their own interests. These ways in which politicians produce their discourses are persistent within the community which is always waiting for the presence of a person with the quality of a Messianic figure that will bring prosperity to the people.

Dějiny ve veřejném prostoru: Proměny institucí paměti. / History in public space: Changes of institutions of memory.Pýcha, Čeněk January 2020 (has links)
Čeněk Pýcha History in public space: Changes of institutions of memory Abstract The submitted dissertation project is based on a longer research interest in memory and remembering. Interdisciplinary memory studies is one of the most dynamically developing subdisciplines in the social sciences and humanities. The aim of this work is to contribute to the ongoing academic discussion and to explore some environments of making sense of the past, which so far stood rather on the periphery of research interests. The research field of this project is defined by the questioning of transformations of memory institutions. I observe this change primarily on the trajectory of movement from grand institutions of memory to small ones. As the grand institutions of memory, I understand the traditional institutions of the interpretation of the past that were born in the modernization process. In this dissertation project, I focus mainly on institutions of heritage preservation and museums. With the partial disintegration of grand collective frameworks, these institutions are divided into small institutions. I study this movement in case studies on contemporary cultural practices of remembrance in new memory ecologies. I focus on digital platforms for travelers, remembering through visual communication or interest in places...

The Making of Valid Data : People and Machines in Genetic Research Practice / Skapandet av giltiga data : Människor och maskiner i genetiska forskningspraktikerKruse, Corinna January 2006 (has links)
This dissertation explores a central step in scientific practices: how samples are turned into data that is considered valid and useful by the research community. Based on multi-sited fieldwork, with observations and interviews at laboratories involved in genetic research, the study focuses on how the laboratory staff’s professional skill, norms, and ideals of scientific research formed their practices of making valid data. As machines were essential for this research, the study also investigates the forms of agency that humans and machines were seen as contributing to the making of valid data; validity being interpreted as reproducibility by the scientists involved. Drawing upon notions of representations as well as Latour’s concepts of inscriptions and immutable mobiles, the study analyzes the practices of transforming samples into valid data as a two-step process. The samples were first turned into raw data, which was subsequently interpreted as data. During the first step, the staff’s central concern was to battle uncertainty in materials and procedures and establish certainty of results, whereas in the second step it was of vital importance to eliminate subjectivity and make objective interpretations of the raw data. Central tools for eliminating uncertainty and subjectivity were the laboratory staff’s professional skill and the use of machines. Certainty and objectivity of results, i.e. valid data, were expected to occur with the help of machines. Drawing upon e.g. Barad’s framework of agential realism, the study analyzes the various understandings of notions of humanness and machineness which shaped scientists’ practices and made the creation of valid data possible.

從「韓國文化熱」論東亞文化之融合 / From Korean Culture Fever to Hybridization of Eastern Asian Culture金知玧, Kim, Jiyoon Unknown Date (has links)
National identity has traditionally played a central role in shaping a person’s views and beliefs. However, is it possible that we are moving towards a new paradigm, where exchanges of popular culture in East Asia make it possible to visualize an integrated East Asia bloc and connect with a broader East Asian identity? On the theoretical level, we contend that the new East Asian image is being cultivated by the commonality of consuming hybridized popular culture products exchanged among East Asia countries, which represent various shapes and forms of cultural memes, which are ingrained in tradition and values of modernity and post-modernity. In order to find out whether hybrid cultural practices can constitute the basis for the establishment of an 「East Asian identity」 with the potential to change the current landscape in power relations, we need to investigate concrete ways in which specific cultural practices are articulated in the social and historical contexts.
In the context of the consumption of imported popular cultural products, the experience of hybrid popular culture products provides the consumer with an opportunity to critically reflect on the problems in their society as well as gaining an insight into the foreign country producing the product.
For the part of audiences enjoying other Asian cultural products, some make use of the cultural products as symbolic capital as a way of distinguishing themselves from other users.
