Improving the user experience of touchscreen text-based code editor in an industrial robot controller / Förbättring av användarupplevelsen för textbaserad kodredigerare med pekskärm i en industriell robotkontrollerXu, Xuanling January 2023 (has links)
This project investigated the touchscreen text-based code editor in OmniCore FlexPendant to improve its usability and user experience. This is a powerful but complex application used to program industrial robots. The objective is to redesign the user interface and interactions to make them more userfriendly and intuitive, with the goal of improving efficiency. The principles for designing complex applications and touchscreen products are generated as an outcome. From an academic standpoint, the research aims to fill the gap in text-based code editors for robot controller design and inspire touchscreen code editor design in other fields. Design thinking served as the framework for the design process, which encompassed seven steps that ranged from exploration to conceptualization and user testing. Guidance for improvement is ideated by ’become a user,’ competitive analysis, and user studies. In the design phase, a high-fidelity prototype is built upon the original design with completely new interfaces, structures, and interactions. The user experience and usability are evaluated during user testing by counting task completion time, applying two standard user experience measurements, and conducting a brief interview. The results indicate that the new design achieved better completion efficiency in tasks, better user experience and usability scores, and received positive feedback from participants. The new solution meets the objectives and is considered a good reference for the design of industrial robot programming solutions.

Push it to the limit: Rubrikmakarnas kamp om läsarna : En kvalitativ och kvantitativ innehållsanalys av Sportbladets, Expressens och SVT Sports rubriker, nedryckare och pushnotiser om allsvenska fotbollsmatcher / Push it to the limit: The headline makers battle for the readers : A qualitative and quantitative content analysis of Sportbladet's, Expressen's and SVT Sport's headlines, pull downs and push notifications about Allsvenskan football matchesStenfelt, Alexander, Andréasson, Carl January 2024 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to compare and investigate how three nationwide sports media report on the same Allsvenskan football matches through push notifications, headlines and pull downs. In the study, the analyzed media included Sportbladet, Expressen and SVT Sport. By comparing and analyzing the media coverage of these pseudo events, the study aims to identify differences in news aspects, tonality and use of visual elements. The study further attempts to illustrate how different media convey and shape football news to their readers and how this can affect the interpretation and perception of events in Swedish football. We examined 69 headlines and 69 pull downs in total – 24 each from Expressen and Sportbladet and 21 from SVT Sport. 72 push notifications in total were also examined – 33 from Sportbladet, 31 from Expressen and eight from SVT Sport. The study has been made with a qualitative and quantitative content analysis where the authors have been working with separate analyses with push notifications on one hand, and headlines and pull downs on the other hand. The qualitative analysis (critical discourse analysis) consisted of four different themes to cover the result. The quantitative analysis was made by six diagrams – all to shed light on the actual result. The theoretical framework is based on theories of framing, pseudo events and news evaluation, combined with previous research on headlines and push notifications, the medialization of elite sports, the commercialization of journalism, the meaning of Swedish sports journalism and the reporting on Allsvenskan. The study’s result shows that there are both differences and similarities in their strategy when it comes to headlines, pull downs and push notifications. The biggest difference, however, is between the commercial media (Sportbladet and Expressen) and publicly funded SVT Sport. The commercial media is more keen on using sensational language and often hides information in the headlines. They also find different ways of making a headline rather than the result of the football game more often than SVT. The three media also like to represent big losers and winners and also scapegoats and heroes. Conceptual metaphors are also widely used. SVT Sport were also more informative in their headlines, but at the same time they also used a more varied language. Many of the headlines seem also to be written on pure routine. When it comes to push notifications the language and strategy was similar – but the commercial media sent out significantly more push notifications regarding Allsvenskan than SVT Sport.

Simulace toroidních cívek v Ansoft Maxwell 3D / Simulation of toroid coils in Ansoft Maxwell 3DDaněk, Michal January 2009 (has links)
The master thesis is focused on the simulation of the toroid coils in Ansoft Maxwell 3D software, which uses finite element method for electromagnetic field simulation. Firstly the process creation of the geometric model toroid coil with seventy-five threaded is presented. It is necessary to debug this model and prepare it for the mesh generation. Physical properties are assign to this model and it gives rise to the physical model. We will set boundaries, excitation current, core material, winding material and the parameters for the mesh generations. New material Kashke K4000 will be created in the materials library and subsequently we will define its BH curve on the basis of datasheet. Analysis is made in two modes. Direct currents (7,5A; 10A; 15A; 20A; 25A) and (non)linear materials are used in magnetostatic solution. Toroid coil is excited by current pulse in transient solution. In Ansoft Maxwell Circuit editor a source which generates current pulse will be created. This excitation will be assigned to the toroid coil as an extern source through a terminal. Core material is linear in the case of transient analysis, because Ansoft Maxwell 3D doesn´t allow to use nonlinear material in this solution. Settings are different in transient and in magnetostatic analysis. End time and time step are entered to solve this task in transient analysis. Time points are entered too. Flux density and electromagnetic field strength are calculated in these time points and later it will be possible to view the results. Calculated fields are shown as the pictures in this thesis. The procedure how to use a field calculator in the postprocessing is given as well. The achievements are summarized in the conclusion.

Die lewe, werk en invloed van F.V. Engelenburg in Suid-Afrika (1889 – 1938) / Linda EugéneBrink, Linda Eugen January 2015 (has links)
This dissertation is a historical biography of F.V. Engelenburg (1863-1938) and covers the
period from 1889 to 1938, when Engelenburg lived and worked in South Africa. The study
situates Engelenburg in the historical landscape of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek during
the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The focus is mainly on Engelenburg’s
journalistic career at De Volksstem, but attention is also given to his many other interests,
including the development and promotion of Afrikaans and the Afrikaans academic culture,
especially in the northern parts of South Africa. His work pertaining to the development of
architecture, literature, aviation, the visual and performing arts, history, libraries, museums
and educational institutions comes under the spotlight. His private life is considered as well
in order to portray his versatility as a person. The chapters have been subdivided to highlight
the variety of matters he was involved in, and a chronological approach has been followed as
is customary in a biography.
The study is based on archival research. In particular, Engelenburg’s private collections were
used, as well as the private collections of some of his contemporaries. Engelenburg assumes a
central place in the biography, with special focus on how he perceived and experienced
conditions and everyday life in South Africa from the point of view of his transnational
European background. His role as influential opinion-maker and political commentator on
local and international politics is highlighted. His ties with political leaders and his
involvement in government affairs are emphasised. The study also refers to his continued
contact with his motherland, the Netherlands, and with the Dutch language. After the Anglo-
Boer War, he realised that the languages of the future in South Africa would be Afrikaans
(not Dutch), alongside English. His continuing support for Afrikaans as a language of
instruction in schools and universities and the development of the Afrikaans literature, as well
as his support for the standardization of Afrikaans helped to establish Afrikaans as an official
language alongside English and Dutch in South Africa. Engelenburg’s active contribution to
the work of the Zuid-Afrikaanse Akademie voor Taal, Lettere en Kuns (now the Suid-
Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns), helped to put the organization on a sound
footing for future development. The Akademie can be seen as a living monument to his work
in South Africa. / PhD (History)--North-West University, Vaal Triangle Campus, 2015.

Květen 1945 optikou deníku Mladá fronta v časové spirále 65 let / May 1945in optics of journal Mlada fronta in time-spiral of 65 yearsStoszková, Šárka January 2011 (has links)
The thesis "Looking through the lens of the Czech daily newspaper Mlada fronta for 65 years" examines the topic of the liberation of Czechoslovakia in May, 1945. The qualitative content analysis of selected texts available from the newspaper is used to explore the interpretation of the event in Mlada fronta. The thesis has concentrated on the development of attitudes, beliefs, ways of communications and journalistic transformation of media content concerning the liberation event over time. The main objective has been to answer the question as to whether the media portrayal of the event has remained constant or altered over the stated time period and which factors influenced the portrayal. In the conclusion of this thesis we can confirm that the monitored event has been described differently in different time periods respectively, in connection with political progress and the value of democracy in the country. The more totalitarian the regime, the more the newspaper has described freedom through preferred ideology, biased themes, dogmatic posture and offered interpretations that suited the ruling party. This indicates a form of totalitarian hegemony. During periods of greater totalitarianism, the newspaper tends to describe the theme of the freedom completely within that communist ideology. However,...

Edition et création : les collections d'albums pour la jeunesse depuis les années 1960 / Edition and creation : the picturebooks series since the 1960sVergez-Sans, Cécile 15 December 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with French children’s picture book series since the 1960s. It highlights the difficulties to bridge creation and edition while providing an analysis of editorial creativity. After mentionning historical models of children’s series, we describe the evolution of series models (chapter 1 and 2). We show that this evolution was not without challenges. In the 60s and 70s, some authors and illustrators were craving for more legitimacy (chapter 3). At the same period, Ruy Vidal’s editorial career as publisher and editor allows us to discover the difficulties to introduce editorial innovations (chapter 4). It is then necessary to study the editorial conditions for creativity (chapter 5, 6, 7) through the examples of « Studio Delpire » (we wonder about his editorial « eye » and about the creative function of the editorial team), O. Douzou (Rouergue) (the question here is : what does an author-illustrator-editor provide ?), J. Magnani, a contemporary publisher (who tries to go beyond the frontier between children’s and adult’s books). All in all, these elements will help us discover ways to think of and analyze editorial creativity. The thesis is based on unexplored archives and numerous interviews with actors of the children’s picture books field.
