Implementace doplňujícího vzdělávacího oboru Etická výchova v České republice / Implementation of Ethic Education as a Supplementary Educational Subject in the Czech RepublicMotyčka, Pavel January 2013 (has links)
In this work we have been researching how Ethic Education influences the pupils behaviour and the social climate in the classroom. For this research we have used a mixed quantitative and a qualitative methodology. In the quantitative part we have realized our research through the natural experiment with one observed independent variable which applicated the programme of Ethic Education for basic school pupils and secondary school students. We have observed these dependant variables of pupils behaviour: the amount of the prosocial behavior, the amount of anxiety and the amount of the behavioural problems. In a group we have observed: the quality of the social climate and the amount of the trust. In the qualitative part we have tried to examine how pupils and teachers perceive Ethic Education and what principles they use for it. We have used these methods of collecting information: a nomination technigue, a questionary About Your Fellowstudents, a questionary About Your Emotions, a questionary CES, a questionary SDQ. In the qualitative part we have used a questionary with this open question. We think that we can make a conclusion about this research that in the quantitative part the hypothese proved that Ethic Education reduces the amount of the anxiety and the other emocional aspects within the pupils...

For love or money : perceptions and conceptions of the work ethic held by a group of preservice teachers in QueenslandMailler, Emma Cornelia January 2006 (has links)
The work ethic has been a popular topic for public comment and for research in the social sciences. The work ethic is usually understood to embody the values, beliefs and principles an individual has in relation to work. Work is an important dimension of human experience. Governments and employers are particularly interested in increasing productivity and competitiveness in connection with work and the work ethic is perceived as an important catalyst in achieving these goals. The main point of reference for discussion about the work ethic in the past century has been Max Weber's Protestant ethic thesis. Weber's thesis has attracted much criticism over the years and contemporary writers have suggested that alternative conceptions of the work ethic do exist. Despite widespread agreement that this is the case, consensus has not yet been reached on how such conceptions should be defined or how they may manifest in an individual. The majority of research on the work ethic has been limited to the collection of quantitative data using one of several survey instruments that are available. Fewer studies have collected data on the work ethic using a qualitative approach and yet, this is exactly what is required to achieve progress in identifying the range of conceptions that may exist. This study occurs in the context of teacher education and the work ethic has relevance to teachers and teacher educators for several reasons. Teachers, through the explicit and hidden curriculum they provide, have some responsibility for inculcating a work ethic in their students. It follows that it is important to understand the work ethic of teachers on this basis alone. A most logical starting place for accomplishing this task is during their career preparation. This study advocates explicit examination of preservice teachers' conceptions of the work ethic and exploration of how this might affect their career and curriculum decision making processes. This research is primarily intended to inform teacher educators who wish to pay attention to these things in their programs, along with researchers from other disciplines who are interested in the work ethic. Inspired by a pragmatic philosophy, this study utilised a mixed method research design to investigate the conceptions of the work ethic held by a group of preservice teachers studying in Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland, Australia. Priority was given to the first phase of the research, which was to identify the qualitative conceptions of the work ethic held by the preservice teachers. The second quantitative phase was intended to complement and expand those findings by demonstrating that an established instrument in the measurement of work ethic could be used to profile conceptions of the work ethic held by an individual. The first phase of the research adopted a phenomenographic approach to identify nine conceptions of the work ethic held by a group of 22 preservice teachers. A courtship metaphor was used to characterise each of the nine conceptions which were labelled as Honeymoon, Monogamist, Serial Monogamist, Arranged Marriage, Celibate, Obsession, One-night Stand, Hedonist and Polyamorist. The second phase of the research used quantitative techniques involving factor analysis and linear modelling to link anonymous responses from 411 preservice teachers to the Occupational Work Ethic Inventory (OWEI) with the nine conceptions identified in the first phase of the research. It was found that the OWEI could be used to profile an individual's orientation to the work ethic conceptions that were defined. This research responded to calls in the literature for a better understanding of the characteristics of the people who choose to become teachers. It also suggested ways in which teacher education could be improved to prepare preservice teachers better through socialisation practices and the university curriculum. This study confirms that there are qualitatively different conceptions of the work ethic that may provide an alternative to the traditional Weberian conception. A technique is proposed to associate OWEI responses with the model of nine work ethic conceptions. Suggestions are also made with respect to potential improvement of the OWEI.

Previous issue date: 2010-08-10 / The initial point of this dissertation is, in the first place, to analyze the postmodernity with its implications on moral conscience. The complex postmodernity reality takes us to rethink the problems concerning conscience to beyond the traditional paradigms making us to think of an (a type of) ethic of virtues which grants us a triple challenge: to discern, to decide and to act amongst ethical relativisms and fundamentalisms. For this purpose, we emphasize a panoramic view of postmodernity with its theoretical and anthropological challenges, generators of a new culture and value opposing to the whole Christian anthropology. The moral conscience, discernment stage, decision and action of the human being, feeling this opposition, is called to rethink its deeper structure. For this purpose, we have passed a look over the Christian tradition of conscience accentuating the major biblical, theological and historical themes under it. It emphasizes the positive comprehension of the council present in Gaudium et Spes , nº 16, we stress its concise and coherent importance to the moral-theological reflection. We propose an ethic of virtues looking at the old ethical paradigms, but aiming the contemporary human subject who lives a crisis of sense, history and acting. Finding himself fragmented and ethically confuse in front of the countless ethical proposals, seductive and ephemeral, we want to show that an ethic of virtues is profoundly pedagogical and evangelical when to this human subject offers means to form and educate his conscience. Rescuing the theological and cardinals virtues under the stimulating and creative inspiration of St. Thomas, we want to present ways capable of generating the humanization and integration of the postmodern human subject. It is up to the human subject to form his conscience with creativity in an open-minded spirit by the discernment to decide and act in times of ethical relativisms and fundamentalisms, proposing to himself and to his environment a beyond of moralisms and immoralisms / O ponto de partida desta dissertação é, primeiramente, analisar a pós-modernidade com suas implicações sobre a consciência moral.

Anthropology has developed the culture approach thanks to in situ studies and has allowed to grasp her moving nature. Moreover, it has measured the impact of situational variables on the strength of ethnic identity’s consumers. Studies on ethics are more recent and model the ethical decision making including the influence of individual and environmental characteristics. Facing an environment more and more multicultural and a growth of ethics concerns, the present thesis has conceptualized a model of ethic-ethnic consumer behaviour in order to answer the research question: cultural environment and individual characteristics influence the individual moral philosophy, the choice criterias, the behaviour and the ethic-ethnic consumption. The study, managed by a survey on 969 respondents, associates ethics and ethnic behaviour for the first time. Findings show that persons strongly attached to their cultural group and their cultural values are also more sensitive to ethics and ethnics criterias in their purchase intentions, which confirms the importance of the group in the personality construction. The strength of ethnic identity influence behaviours (which is a contribution of this study) and ethic and ethnic consumptions. Nevertheless, the ethical decision making has an indirect influence on the ethic and ethnic behaviours: this relation is mediatised by choice criterias. Management implications are numerous: first, firms have interest to communicate on the ethical dimensions of their ethnic products and secondly, this study shows the interest to develop offers based on “consumption experiences”.

Gestão da ética nas organizações: possibilidades aos profissionais de relações públicas e comunicação organizacional / Ethics management in organizations: possibilities given to public-relation professionals and organizational communicators.Andrade, Zilda Aparecida Freitas de 18 March 2010 (has links)
This study reports on how corporations implant and manage ethic practices in their organizations and in the relationship with their public, establishing the relation between organizational ethics and corporate reputation by means of data collected thorough interviews with representatives of six corporations established in São Paulo.
The debate between the sanctity of life ethic and the quality of life ethic has been at the core of bioethical discussions (especially those in English) for forty years. It is generally considered that the sanctity of life is an ancient ethic which belongs to the Judeo-Christian and to the Hippocratic traditions. The quality of life, for its part, is commonly understood as a modern ethic which was born with the scientific and technological development of the medical field started sixty years ago. It is then stated that the difference between the sanctity of life ethic and the quality of life ethic depends on the value that each ethic assigns to human life. A moral judgment about subjects as abortion, euthanasia, the withholding and withdrawal of life support, and so on, is supposed to result from this value. The literature on the subject is abundant, and the expressions “sanctity of life” and quality of life” are often used, but the meaning and the scope of these ethics remain sometimes unclear. This fact becomes more evident in the public debates, especially in the well-known cases. What (human) life, sanctity (of life), and quality (of life) mean? These questions rarely receive the same answer. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the validity of the opposition between the sanctity of life ethic and the quality of life ethic with a genealogical approach and an archaeological method. The common idea of the sanctity of life is, first, analyzed to find its multiple and heterogeneous “descents” [provenances]. These “descends”, then, are put into context, focusing on the conditions in which the expression “sanctity of life” was mobilized, and on the discourses that opposed to it. This framework, finally, allows to bring a fresh look at the advent of the debate between sanctity of life ethic and quality of life ethic, as well as at its emergence and reconfiguration in bioethics. The challenge is to provide new keys for thinking differently the contemporary debate.
