Jämförelse av nätverksfilsystemsprotokoll i Windowsmiljö

Hagberg, Mikael, Skedebäck, Stefan, Ramsin Barlas, Jonas January 2009 (has links)

Arbetet baseras på artikeln ”A New Network File System is Born: Comparison of SMB2, CIFS, and NFS” som skrivits av Steven M. French på IBM, Samba Team.
/
This essay is about the networkfilesystem protocols SMB/CIFS, SMB2 and NFSv3. The work is based on the article ”A New Network File System is Born: Comparison of SMB2, CIFS, and NFS” which is written by Steven M. French at IBM, Samba Team. In the article there are no performance tests, we found it relevant to do performance tests to see which networkfilesystem protocol was the fastest with different filesizes in a Windows client environment. These tests were performed between two Dell PowerEdge 2900 servers where one of them was acting client and the other one fileserver. The tests were done once without network latency and once with. This resulted in that we got differences in how fast the protocols were with and without network latency.

I aim to describe how they use file sharing, their knowledge about it, how their usage have changed due to the new copyright law, what their stands are on the question of resource control and management on the Internet, and what they think of the future of file sharing.

Material/Method: The method being used is a qualitative focus group interview model, used to investigate how young people look at the subject of file sharing.

Schwabegger, Robin January 2010 (has links)
AbstractTitle: Swedish social media services (A study about Swedish social media services birth andhow they benefit from the Swedish climate)Number of pages: 38Author: Robin SchwabeggerTutor: Else NygrenCourse: Media and Communication Science CPeriod: Fall 2009University: Division of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University.Purpose/Aim: To see if the Swedish advantage or interest in developing new social mediaservices and networks has anything to do with our society. With society I mean our culture, attitudes and history. Do people, especially young people, have a more positive attitudetowards the Internet and has the fact that we, as a country, were among the first to use theInternet anything to do with it.Material/Method: Data collected from books, newspapers and articles from several sites onthe internet. I’ll use the information I’ve gathered to try to find an answer to my givenproblems for the paper. To mark off my problem and information gathering I’ve decided touse three research questions which my work will circle around.Main Result: You can clearly tell that Sweden has a great climate for social media services tobe created. Sweden, as a country, had access to computers and internet in a very early stageand took great advantage of that. Their culture encourages creativity which is important andpeople in Sweden aren’t afraid to run into problems. Teenagers start uses internet in a veryearly age and they have a higher percent of daily usage then other countries.Keyword: File-sharing, Social media, Sweden, Skype, Spotify, Voddler, The Pirate Bay,Communication, Internet, Culture, Users, Consumers, Developers, Hofstede, Hartley

Dags att byta skiva : Paradigmskiftens påverkan på skivbolag / Time to Change Tune : Paradigms’ Affects on Record Industry

Fessé, Johan, Jessen, Anders January 2009 (has links)
Background: Music industry has experienced substantial change in the last decade, in which record companies have lost 50% of its sales since the year 2000. The decrease is largely due to the technological paradigm shift that has taken place with the digitalization of the music industry. These changes have changed market conditions for existing companies. Aim: The aim of this study is to understand how market leading companies affects from and act during changes in technological paradigms with a focus on the record industry. Furthermore we will investigate the record companies’ role in the market and what their role is today after the digitalization of the market. Method: This essay is based on four interviews and one e-mail correspondence with people who have experienced the development of industry in the last decade. As complement secondary data has been used. Results: Record companies suffered difficulties due to the technological change of paradigm which was the result of digitalization. After defensive behavior the companies started to create new business models applicable on the digital market. This study also shows that record companies do have an important role in music industry as whole, as they work as a coordinator to the many functions involved in a music production.

Improving a sampled-data circuit simulator for Delta-Sigma modulator design

Hayward, Roger D. 30 April 1992 (has links)
Delta-Sigma Modulator-based Analog-to-Digital converter design is an active area of research. New topologies require extensive simulations to verify their performance. A series of improvements were made to an existing circuit simulation package in order to speed the simulation process for the designer. Various examples of these improvements are presented in typical applications. / Graduation date: 1992

Li, Jian 14 February 2007 (has links) (PDF)
