Känsloreglering hos Elitidrottare : Känslor elitidrottare upplever timmen innan en viktig tävling och hur de hanteras / Elite athletes’ emotion regulating strategies : Feelings an elite athlete experience in the hour before an important competition and how those feelings are handledAlfvén, Lena, Lagerberg, Maria January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of the study was, based on Gross’ (2007) theory, to investigate elite athletes’ emotion regulating strategies. The issue posed in the Study was the following: What feelings does an elite athlete experience in the hour before an important competition and how does the athlete handle those feelings? The study pertained to nine elite athletes in individual athletic disciplines. The compilation of data was performed through semi-structured interviews which were transcribed and analysed using a content analysis. The analysis resulted in six categories with 2-3 sub-categories. The six main categories were distraction, self-talk/pep-talk, social strategy, structure, attention focus and visualisation. The elite athletes conclusively stated that they did experience feelings during the hour just before an important competition and they gave the impression that they used emotion regulating strategies. These strategies were often used sub- consciously. Raising awareness of emotion regulating strategies can contribute to creating possibilities for enhanced performance.

Sağlam, Tuğba January 2023 (has links)
This study analyzes how Swedish and Turkish journalists cope with threats, hatred, and harassment, and what role journalistic ideals and organizational support play in their coping process. The study is based on qualitative interviews, analyzed utilizing aspects from the theoretical framework of systems and coping theories. The aim of the study is to delve into personal experiences in circumstances where journalists face threat, hatred, or harassment to increase our understanding of how journalists cope with them and what happens to their journalistic ideals during this process. The results show that both groups have a similar view on which journalistic ideals are important. Both groups of journalists used emotion-focused and problem-focused coping mechanisms which utilized journalistic ideals in one way or another, to feel control over the situation. In some cases, ideals were experienced as comforting, and in others, they were compromised. Lastly, organizational support was seen and experienced as a part of individual coping only for Swedish journalists, who expressed it as a primary method to cope with hostile situations, while it remained absent for Turkish journalists in this study.

Stressors and coping mechanisms of family care-givers of older relatives living with long-term conditions in mainland China: A scoping review of the evidenceBífárìn, Oládayò, O., Quinn, Catherine, Breen, Liz, Wu, C., Ke, M., Yu, L., Oyebode, Jan 20 July 2021 (has links)
Yes / As the ageing population in China continues to grow, more people will be living with long-term health conditions and require support from family care-givers. This scoping review therefore aims to explore sources of stress and coping mechanisms adopted by care-givers of older relatives living with long-term conditions in mainland China. Literature searches were conducted in English (CINAHL, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PsycINFO and SCOPUS) and Chinese (CNKI, WANFANG DATA, CQVIP and CBM) databases between October and November 2019. The searches focused on the stressors and coping mechanisms utilised by family care-givers residing in the community. Narrative synthesis was used to identify themes within the data. Forty-six papers were included: 20 papers from English and 26 from Chinese databases. Six themes captured stressors: care-giving time (N = 22), financial resources (N = 17), role and personal strains (N = 42), preparedness (N = 4), social roles (N = 10) and lack of adequate formal support (N = 22); and one theme captured coping (N = 14). Unmet needs of care-givers of older relatives in mainland China were found to be extensive. Only a few studies had attempted to explore the causal link between stressors, coping and the influence of culture. Findings underscore the significance of adequately capturing intricacies around care-givers’ unmet needs, rather than generalising on the basis of culture. Qualitative studies are critical to providing a better understanding of the relationship between stressors, coping and resources afforded to care-givers by their cultural environment. Having such understanding is crucial to inform the development of competent care, which promotes self-efficacy and self-actualisation in care-givers in mainland China. / This work was supported by Research England: Quality Related Global Challenge Research Fund (QR-GCRF).

Traitement des tumeurs cérébrales par ultrasons focalisés de haute intensité - sur un modèle tumoral greffé chez le rat / High intensity focused ultrasound therapy for brain tumors - in a rat brain tumor model.Dervishi, Elvis 24 September 2014 (has links)
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy is an innovative approach for tissue ablation, based on high intensity focused ultrasound beams. At focus, HIFU induces a temperature elevation and the tissue can be thermally destroyed. For transcranial brain therapy, the skull bone is a major limitation but new adaptive techniques for focusing ultrasound through the skull are underway and in the near future HIFU therapy could be an interesting alternative to brain surgery and radiotherapy. The overall aim of this work is to test HIFU therapy guided by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRgHIFU) for the treatment of brain tumors in an in vivo brain tumor model in rodent in order to provide inputs for future regulatory approval for clinical trial with a clinical prototype. In this work: 1) a dedicated system for transcranial MRgHIFU in an in vivo rat brain tumor model was developed, and a full protocol was applied in healthy brain tissue of rats and in transplanted tumors; 2) the biological effects of HIFU therapy was evaluated using MRI and histology in healthy brain tissue and in RG2 brain tumor, showing a different tissue sensibility for hyperthermia; 3) tolerance and side effects were investigated and the treatment was shown to improve the animal survival time by 50%. In conclusion, HIFU therapy has proved its accuracy and efficacy in the treatment of the RG2 brain tumor transplanted intracerebral in rats. However this technique is not free of complications, in particular edema and hemorrhages.

Compassion Focused Therapy vid ätstörningar- en pilotstudie / Compassion Focused Therapy for People with Eating Disorders – a pilot studySvanberg Cohen, LIna, Cohen, Jonathan January 2014 (has links)
Fortsatt forskning är således motiverad / Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is an integrative transdiagnostic treatment aiming at increasing self-compassion, and reducing levels of shame and self-criticism in individuals with psychiatric illness. High levels of shame and self-criticism have been identified in people suffering from eating disorders, disorders who are usually considered difficult to treat. The aim of the present study was to investigate if CFT could be considered a treatment option for eating disorders. A single-subject design with repeated measures was used (n=5). The results were ambiguous, though indicating that CFT could be helpful for some individuals with eating disorders. Further research is warranted.

Ambas as abordagens
A primeira
processo.
Establishing the selling price of compounded drugs has been involved more and more factors
that contribute to customer satisfaction, becoming a major effort to achieve greater
competitiveness in this business. In this context, this work proposes two new approaches for
aggregating of stakeholders’ preferences about the methodological definition of pricing of
pharmaceutical products, focusing on the particular case of compounding pharmacy in
southern Brazil. Both approaches are used the method Value-Focused Thinking (VFT), in
order to provide a better understanding of the problem by the members concerned.
Furthermore, this work supports the identification of a fundamental objective from various
perceptions of the problem, establishing a unified vision of the goal to be achieved, due to
participation of all stakeholders. For this, the individual values are identified, allow the
creation of alternatives, where each participant contributes their individual perceptions and
values, and defined natural, direct and / or indirect measures according to the experience and
knowledge of each stakeholder, and determine the scale constant, reflecting their preferences.
The first approach utilizes the consensus among the group members to obtain the global
preference, and all stages of model development are carried out with the participation of all
stakeholders. The second approach proposes and individualized manner of participation of
stakeholders, including the use of cognitive maps, in order to organize and record the values
identified by stakeholders about their preferences, so the end of the process of structuring the
problem situation, the individual maps are aggregates through the union of the different
perceptions obtaining a unified model. It can be seen then, an environment with reduced
conflict, since practically the entire process is carried out separately, and ensuring greater
flexibility and may negotiated only at the end of the process. The final model generated by
both approaches, reflect the overall preference of the stakeholders.

Identifierade copingstrategier hos kvinnor som utsatts för våld i nära relation : En textanalys av självbiografier / Identified coping strategies in women who have been exposed to violence in intimate partner relationships : A text analysis of autobiographiesEngfors, Natali, Holm, Mathilda January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine how women who have been subjected to intimate partner violence describe the violence in their own autobiographies, as well as which coping strategies can be identified in their stories. With the help of four autobiographies written by women who lived with a violent man for many years, their description of the violence will be highlighted. The experience will be analyzed with the help of theories such as the normalization process and theories of coping strategies. The coping strategies are divided into emotional and problem-focused coping. The violence highlighted is physical, psychological, sexual and financial violence. The results show that the women describe similar approaches and events around all different forms of violence. Men's control and isolation dominate women's lives and lead to a sense of lost perception of reality. The coping strategies identified were divided into emotional and problem-focused. Emotionally focused coping was identified as, among other things, ventilating, turning to one's religion for support and denial of one's situation. The problem-focused coping strategies are identified as information gathering, adapted behavior and the search for one's new role.
