Previous issue date: 2010-04-23 / On this research we investigated how new technologies can help the process of design and
manufacturing of furniture in such small manufacturers in Rio Grande do Norte state. Google
SketchUp, a 3D software tool, was developed in such a way that its internal structures are
opened and can be accessed using SketchUp s API for Ruby and programs written in Ruby
language (plugins). Using the concepts of the so-called Group Technology and the flexibility
that enables adding new functionalities to this software, it was created a Methodology for
Modeling of Furniture, a Coding System and a plugin for Google s tool in order to implement
the Methodology developed. As resulted, the following facilities are available: the user may
create and reuse the library s models over-and-over; reports of the materials manufacturing
process costs are provided and, finally, detailed drawings, getting a better integration between

Previous issue date: 2012-03-23 / In this work was developed an information system to apply the concepts of CAD3D-BIM technology for the design activities of the furniture industry. The development of this system was based in an architecture comprised of two modules: a web interface to management the metadata of models from furniture's library and the combination of three-dimensional CAD software with a specific plugin to access the information from this model.
To develop this system was also used a Data Base Management System (DBMS) designed to storage the information from models in a hierarchical way, based on concepts of Group Technology (GT). The centralization of information in a single database allows the automatic availability of any changes to all participants involved in a particular project when it‟s happens. Each module from system has its own connection to this database.
Finally was developed a prototype from a 3D virtual environment to help create Virtual Reality projects in the web. A study from available technologies to create 3D web applications for execution in websites was done to support this development.
The interconnection between modules and the database developed allowed the assembly of a system architecture to support the construction and exhibition of projects of the furniture industry in accordance with the concepts proposed by BIM (Building Information Modeling), using as object of study the furniture industry of state of Rio Grande do Norte / No desenvolvimento deste trabalho foi desenvolvido um sistema que permite a aplica??o de conceitos da tecnologia CAD3D-BIM em projetos da ind?stria moveleira. Para desenvolver o sistema foi concebida uma arquitetura composta por dois m?dulos: uma interface web para gerenciamento dos metadados dos componentes existentes em uma biblioteca de m?veis e uma ferramenta CAD tridimensional que utiliza um plugin espec?fico para acessar as informa??es referentes a cada um destes componentes.
Na constru??o do sistema tamb?m foi utilizado um SGBD (Sistema Gerenciador de Banco de Dados) projetado para armazenar as informa??es dos componentes de uma forma hier?rquica, baseada nos conceitos da Tecnologia de Grupo. A concentra??o de informa??es em um ?nico banco de dados permite que qualquer mudan?a realizada seja disponibilizada automaticamente para todos os participantes envolvidos no projeto. Os dois m?dulos que comp?em o sistema possui uma conex?o com esta base de dados.
Finalmente, foi desenvolvido o prot?tipo de um ambiente virtual 3D com o objetivo de auxiliar a cria??o de projetos de Realidade Virtual na web. Para embasar o desenvolvimento, foi feito um estudo sobre as tecnologias dispon?veis para cria??o de aplica??es 3D web executadas diretamente em navegadores.
Com a interliga??o de todos os componentes foi criada uma arquitetura de sistema para dar suporte ? constru??o e exibi??o de projetos da ind?stria moveleira, de acordo com os conceitos propostos pela tecnologia BIM (Building Information Modeling), tendo como objeto de estudo a ind?stria moveleira do estado do Rio Grande do Norte

Nous cherchons dans ce travail à détricoter la relation à la fois compétitive et coopérative, indifféremment technique, économique, juridique, sociale, politique et résolument communicationnelle de Google et des éditeurs de presse. Pour cela, après avoir historicisé la rencontre de deux univers singuliers, nous décrivons ce que les éditeurs peuvent faire pour franchir le prisme du moteur de recherche et y optimiser la visibilité de leur production. Nous tâchons ensuite de décrypter ce que la firme Google peut faire faire aux éditeurs en analysant leurs relations de pouvoir, leurs incitations, leurs projets et leurs environnements informationnels respectifs. Enfin, nous rendons compte de ce que les éditeurs français issus de la presse imprimée font effectivement : ce qu’ils communiquent à Google, par quels moyens et à quel prix, pour quels résultats espérés, à l’issue de quelles concessions, quels détours, quelles contestations. Nous expliquons comment les conditions et les modalités de captation du trafic sont susceptibles d’influencer la valorisation du contenu, l’organisation e sa production, la structure du site, les pratiques journalistiques et les lignes éditoriales. Nous montrons qu’un aller-retour performatif se crée entre énoncés et conditions d’énonciation, agissant par et sur les textes, les architextes et les hypertextes. En somme, c’est à la compréhension de ce que deviennent l’actualité et eux qui la mettent en récit, dès lors qu’ils cherchent à ce que l’information qu’ils produisent soit trouvée par les utilisateurs de Google, que notre thèse est consacrée. / In this thesis, we aim to disentangle the cooperative but also competitive relationship between Google and news publishers, which is at the same time technical, economic, legal, social, political and certainly communicational. In order to do so, we trace the historical development of two singular universes, describing what publishers can do to overcome the search engine and optimize their ranking. We then analyse how Google can influence publishers’ conduct, by studying power relations, respective incentives, aims, and informational and socio-economic backgrounds. Finally, we report on actual practices of French traditional news publishers: what they communicate to Google, by which means and at what price, for which expected results, after which concessions, detours and controversies. Thus, we explain how search engine optimization is likely to affect the way content is valued, its production organisation, the website’s structure, journalists’ prac tice an editorial policy. We show a back and forth movement between performative utterances and performed circumstances, having an effect on and by texts, architexts and hypertexts. To sum up, this thesis is dedicated to understanding what happens to news and publishers once they strive for their information to be found by Google's users.

Previous issue date: 2016-11-23 / Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Goiás - FAPEG / Urban environments, such as streets, roads and buildings, always require management and maintenance to
better use. In this sense, computational tools to assist their managers are always desirable. Furthermore,
these tools generally decrease spending in order to automate several tasks. This research presents an
approach to recognition of pole utility in streets mapped by images from Google Street View. Features such
as color, texture and shape were examined in order to find the best set of information that represents the
objects of interest. The recognition was performed by a neural network type Multilayer Perceptron trained
with the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The results show a higher accuracy in recognition when used in
combination, mode RGB and texture properties as features to represent the structures present in the images. / Ambientes urbanos, tais como ruas, estradas e construções, sempre demandam
gerenciamento e manutenção para que sejam melhor utilizados. Nesse sentido, ferramentas
computacionais que auxiliem seus gestores são sempre desejáveis. Por outro lado, tais
ferramentas geralmente diminuem os gastos tendo em vista que automatizam várias tarefas.
Esta pesquisa apresenta uma abordagem para o reconhecimento de postes da rede elétrica
em imagens de ruas mapeadas pelo Google Street View. Características como cor, textura e
forma foram pesquisadas com o objetivo de se encontrar o melhor conjunto de informações
que represente os objetos de interesse. O reconhecimento foi realizado por uma rede neural
do tipo Multilayer Perceptron treinada com o algoritmo Levenberg-Marquardt. Os resultados
obtidos demonstram uma acurácia superior no reconhecimento quando se utiliza, de forma combinada, a moda RGB e propriedades de textura como características para representar as
estruturas presentes nas imagens

Previous issue date: 2015-02-25 / Essa dissertação busca levantar uma discussão sobre mecanismos de vigilância digital que
modificam o modo como a informação é distribuída no ciberespaço, a fim de gerar reflexões
acerca dos rumos da comunicação digital. Com a crescente demanda por softwares que traduzam
os usuários, a fim de gerar conhecimento sobre que tipo de potenciais consumidores esses
indivíduos podem ser, tem-se um cenário onde cada rastro deixado no ciberespaço pode ser
capturado para que a máquina crie um perfil dos indivíduos. A questão incômoda reside no fato
de que, a cada clique, há uma categorização que a máquina vai impor para encaixar os usuários,
criando uma ditadura do “você é o que você clica”, quando na realidade as subjetividades
humanas não podem ser lidas por algoritmos e interpretadas pelos agentes inteligentes – conceito
que representa a máquina ganhando personalidade, criando ações autônomas, tomando decisões
pelo indivíduo. Como consequência da extrapolação do computador guiando, sugerindo e
escolhendo caminhos para o usuário, ocorre o fenômeno do filtro bolha onde, a partir da
categorização das pessoas, um controle cria uma dinâmica onde só é possível entrar dados
semelhantes, familiares e confortáveis – dificilmente o usuário terá contato com informações
diferentes do que os interesses que demonstrou anteriormente. O filtro bolha ganha ainda mais
sentido quando analisamos o funcionamento do buscador Google e da rede social Facebook, uma
vez que essas empresas configuram-se em terrenos ideais para que os anunciantes comprem
informações sobre dados pessoais de seus usuários e, assim, encontrem consumidores
extremamente bem segmentados na rede. / This thesis wants raise a discussion about how digital surveillance mechanisms changes the way
of information distribution at cyberspace, to create reflections about the directions of digital
communication. With the growing demand for softwares that translates users in order to generate
knowledge about what kind of potential consumers these individuals may be, there is a scenario
where each trail left in cyberspace can be captured for the machine to create a profile of
individuals. The uncomfortable question lies in the fact that to each click, there is a categorization
that the machine will impose to each user, creating a dictatorship of "you are what you click"
when in reality human subjectivity cannot be read by algorithms and interpreted by intelligent
agents - a term that represents the machine with personality, creating autonomous actions and
making decisions by the human. As a result of extrapolation of computer guiding, suggesting and
choosing paths for the user, we have the filter bubble phenomenon where, from the categorization
of people, there is a control which creates a dynamic where you can only enter similar data,
familiar and comfortable - hardly user will have contact with different information than that
shown previously interests. Filter bubble makes even more sense when we analyze the operation
of the Google search engine and social network Facebook, as these companies constitute in ideal
terrain for advertisers buy information about personal data of its users and thus find extremely
consumers well-targeted network.

För företag som tillhandahåller webbtjänster är mobila applikationer någonting som kan utnyttjas för att öka användning av deras tjänst. I uppsatsen undersöks om detta stämmer eller ej.För företag blir det viktigt hur en mobil applikation integreras mot den befintliga webbtjänsten. Det är dessutom relevant för företag att veta hur applikationen påverkar användningen av den initiala webbtjänsten.I studien utvecklas en mobil applikation från grunden för att se vilka potentiella problem företag kan stöta på vid utveckling av en mobil applikation. Intervjuer görs med företag som utvecklat mobila applikationer till befintliga webbtjänster, för att undersöka hur de upplevt effekterna av applikationen efter lansering.Resultaten visar att lansering av en mobil applikation ofta görs till mer än en typ av mobiltelefon. För att underlätta integration av mobila applikationer mot företagets tjänst, undersöks i uppsatsen vilka förutsättningar som krävs av det underliggande systemet. Med en flexibel arkitektur kan företaget vid vidare utveckling spara resurser.Vidare visar resultaten att tjänster i helhet ser ökad användning vid implementering av en mobil applikation. Funktioner i tjänster tenderar dessutom att delas upp mellan den mobila applikationen och webbtjänsten. / The technological advancements in the mobile technology industry have enabled people to perform tasks regardless of time or place. For companies that provide web services, mobile applications can boost service usage. In this thesis we examine if the usage of a service tends to increase in general, by using mobile applications.For companies it is important to know how mobile applications can be integrated with an existing web service. It is also relevant to know about the mobile applications’ effects on the usage of the initial web service.In this study a mobile application is developed from scratch in order to explore potential difficulties that companies can run into while developing a mobile application. Interviews are made with companies that provide web services to their customers, in order to get answers on how mobile applications have affected usage of their respective web services.Results show that the launch of a mobile application is often done towards more than one mobile platform. In the study, we investigate which requirements that has to be met to ease integration of a mobile application to an existing web service. By implementing flexible back-end system architecture, companies can save resources for future development. Furthermore, results show that services in general tend to see increased usage after a mobile application has been launched. Service-specific functionality also tends to get split up between the mobile application and the initial web service.

In the subject of search engine optimization, many methods exist and many aspects are important to keep in mind. This thesis studies the relation between keywords and website ranking in Google Search, and how one can create the biggest positive impact. Keywords with smaller search volume are called "long tail" keywords, and they bear the potential to expand visibility of the website to a larger crowd by increasing the rank of the website for the large fraction of keywords that might not be as common on their own, but together make up for a large amount of the total web searches. This thesis will analyze where on the web page these keywords should be placed, and a case study will be performed in which the goal is to increase the rank of a website with knowledge from previous tests in mind.

Molnlagringstjänster används alltmer och är en växande marknad. Uppsatsen har fokuserat på att undersöka olika molnlagringstjänster ur ett hastighetsperspektiv. När små filer utbyts mellan klient och server har hastigheten på överföringen en mindre betydelse. Vid större överföringar får hastighetsaspekten en alltmer viktig roll. Regelbundna hastighetsmätningar har utförts mot de mest populära molnlagringstjänsterna. Testerna har utförts från Sverige och USA. Testerna har utförts under flera dagar och under olika tidpunkter på dygnet, för att undersöka om hastighetsskillnader existerar. Resultaten visar att stora skillnader finns i hastighet mellan Sverige och USA. Inom Sverige hade Mega och Goolgle Drive högst medelhastighet. Inom USA hade Google Drive högst medelhastighet, men här var variationerna mellan tjänsterna ej lika stora som i Sverige. I resultaten mellan olika tidpunkter var det svårare att urskilja ett mönster, med undantag för Google Drive i Sverige som konsistent fungerade bäst på natten/morgonen. Även Mega fungerade bäst under natten. / Cloud Storage services have seen increased usage and is an emerging market. This paper has focused on examining various cloud storage services from a speed perspective. When small files are exchanged between client and server, the speed of the service is of little importance. For larger transfers however, the speed of the service used plays a more important role. Regular speed measurements have been carried out against the most popular cloud storage services. The tests have been performed from Sweden and USA. The tests have been carried out over several days and at different times of day, to determine if speed differences exist. The results show that there are significant differences in speed between Sweden and the United States. In Sweden, Mega and Google Drive had the highest average speed. Within the United States, Google Drive had the highest average speed, but the variability between the services was not as great as in Sweden. In the results between different timeperiods, it was difficult to discern a pattern, with the exception of Google Drive in Sweden which consistently worked best during the night / morning. Mega also worked best during the night.

Studien undersökte om, och hur, Google Kalender kan användas som hjälpmedel för vuxna individer med ADHD. Syftet var att öppna upp för en diskussion om medieteknik som hjälpmedel vid neuropsykiatriska funktionshinder. En sammanfattning av tillgänglig litteratur och forskning presenterade bakgrundsfakta kring ADHD, operativsystemet Android och Google Kalender. Via programvarutestning, i form av fri testning, testades och analyserades tjänsten Google Kalender utifrån de svårigheter individer med ADHD upplever. Resultaten visar att Google Kalender kan underlätta planering, tidsuppfattning, ihågkommande och framförhållning. Vidare forskning inom ämnet bör bedrivas för att vetenskapligt fastställa resultaten i undersökningen.

Inspectera AB är ett företag som erbjuder tjänster i flera olika områden. Ett av dessa områden är utbildning som ges på webben. De erbjuder i nuläget webbutbildningar gjorda i Flash men söker andra alternativ där de kan redigera utbildningar samt integrera webbutbildningarna i deras webbtjänst Inspectera Online. Den här rapporten handlar om skapandet av en prototyp för en webbutbildningsmodul som implementerats på Inspectera Online. Fokus ligger främst på presentationsverktyget i modulen och en jämförelse med liknande verktyg som finns tillgängliga på internet. I resultatet presenteras för- och nackdelar för respektive presentationsverktyg med avseende på funktionalitet och vilka möjligheter till integration som finns.
