Carlman, Lena-Carin, Lindgren, Kerstin January 2010 (has links)
In recent decades, mental illness has increased in Sweden, and in parallel to this there has been an increase in unemployment. This implies that it is harder for people who have been away from employment for long periods due to ill health to return to work. The purpose of this study was to examine the work situation of people with mental illness who had undergone prevocational training, and to identify psychosocial factors relevant to their current work ability. The aim was also to describe how those who had undergone prevocational training perceived that it had affected their work ability. The study involved 19 participants who were interviewed and assessed with the Worker Role Interview, and an open question was asked about how they perceived that the prevocational training had affected their current work ability. The interview revealed that three of the participants were on sick leave, one was seeking a job, and 15 were working or studying. The results showed that the participants generally had support to acquire, return to, or continue employment concerning the psychosocial factors identified with the WRI. The WRI items showing the strongest support concerned the participants’ understanding of their abilities and limitations, their belief in their ability to work, and their understanding of what the working role involved. All participants perceived that the prevocational training had had a significant impact on their ability to return to work.

Firemní časopis, případová studie / Business magazine, a case study

Dobiáš, Rudolf January 2015 (has links)
The thesis describes business magazines in the Czech Republic, association of publishers, national awards, specialized publishing agencies. Special attention is focused on surveys of business magazines that have been carried out up to now. The situation on the market of business magazines in Great Britain is briefly described for comparison purpose. As an example of a present-day business magazine, the B2B periodical called Elit magazín was selected. To describe the way of its production, a half-structured interview was carried out. To describe the opinion on the side of the producing company a structured interview was carried out, for description of the readers'opinion a questionnaire survey was chosen. The output is the comparison of both opinions. Because the producing company is a part of multinational company, where some other countries produce business magazines as well, a mapping of time-proven solution of the Volvo Trucks multinational company magazine named Globetrotter Czech is carried out. In the conclusion both productions are compared with intention to sketch out a theoretical potential of the multinational periodical. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Komunikační strategie politiků v interakci. / Communicative strategies of politicians in interaction.

Lokajová, Jana January 2012 (has links)
Abstract. The aim of this M.A. thesis is to apply on the sample of five transcribed interviews with American politicians the typology of strategies devised by social psychologists P. Bull and K. Mayer (1993) for 'non-replies' of British politicians in the genre of a political interview and to determine whether this typology could be qualitatively correlated to specific linguistic means (the use of passive, pronominal shifts, hedges). The responses of politicians are examined within the CDA method also in relation to the macro-principles of evasion (dissimulation), coercion, legitimation and delegitimation, which are claimed to be valid in political discourse by P. Chilton (2004) in order to discover whether Bull and Mayer's social typology could be related to these principles and to the strategies of face-management (Brown and Levinson 1987). It is expected that politicians will boost their positive image in the interview and coerce the public in the agenda shift (Clayman, Heritage 2002) through every response in the interview. A question which according to Bull and Elliott (1996) consists of face threat is also expected to be attacked; quantitative results are presented which verify this assumption. In addition, as thirty strategies were observed to have been employed by Mrs Thatcher and Neil Kinnock in...

What about the supervisor? The role of supervisor implicit person theory and behaviors in appraisal interviews

Montana Lyn Drawbaugh (6613121) 10 June 2019 (has links)
Supervisors are the primary drivers of performance management; however, little is known about factors that influence their implementation of these systems. The purpose of this study was to investigate how a supervisor individual difference—implicit person theory (IPT)—differentially predicts supervisor behaviors during, as well as both supervisor and employee reactions to appraisal interviews. In Study 1, MBA students reported their supervisors’ behaviors during their most recent performance appraisal interview (Time 1) as well as their subsequent reactions (i.e., perceived satisfaction, utility, success, supervisor support; Time 2). Their supervisors completed a measure assessing their own IPT (Time 3). Findings suggest that supervisors’ task-oriented behaviors predicted perceived satisfaction, utility, and success of the appraisal interviews, while supervisor’ relational-oriented behaviors predicted perceived supervisor support. In Study 2, supervisors recruited via MTurk completed all measures from Study 1 except perceived success. Results suggest that IPT was positively related to task-oriented behaviors and perceived utility, task-oriented behaviors mediated the relationship between IPT and all three reaction measures (i.e., perceived satisfaction, utility, and supervisor support), and relational-oriented behaviors significantly predicted supervisors’ perceived support. Overall, findings suggest that supervisors who believe people can change (hold a more incremental IPT) display more task-oriented behaviors during and see more utility in appraisal interviews. Additionally, task-oriented behaviors emerged as the key mechanism linking supervisors’ IPT and reactions to appraisal interviews. These findings demonstrate that supervisor individual differences, such as IPT, can influence performance appraisal and management outcomes.

A cross-sectional study was carried out with 1145 adolescents. The informed consent was signed by the parents or the responsible for the adolescent before he/she answered a self-administered questionnaire. The conduct disorder was assessed through the M.I.N.I. Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, a compatible instrument with the criteria of the DSM-III-R/IV and the CID-10. It was assessed whether this pathology was associated with gender, age, socioeconomic status, adolescent schooling, failure at school, religion, use of tobacco, sedentarism, alcohol consumption, drug use, depression and bullying. The ordinal regression was used for the statistics analysis with a hierarchic model for the outcome. It is estimated that, among the interviewees, 29,2% has conduct disorder. After the adjustment made for the hierarchic model, the adolescents chances presented one point more in Conduct Disorder scale is 2,04 (IC95% 1,53-2,71) times higher in male sex. The pathology was also associated with age, socioeconomic status, alcoholic beverages consume, drug use and bullying. The results also shown that the factors associated with the conduct disorder point to a strong interrelation between health behaviors in adolescence / Este trabalho procurou estimar a prevalência e os fatores associados ao Transtorno da Conduta em adolescentes com idade entre 11 e 15 anos. Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview.

Procedural validity of standardized symptom questions for the assessment of psychotic symptoms

Spengler, Peter A., Wittchen, Hans-Ulrich 29 January 2013 (has links) (PDF)
The study examines to what degree well-documented present and life-time psychotic symptoms in a group of former psychiatric inpatients are ascertained when using the Diagnostic Interview Schedule (DIS). The Inpatient Multidimensional Psychiatric Scale (IMPS) and the Manual for the Assessment and Documentation of Psychopathology/Diagnostische Sichtlochkartei (AMDP/DiaSika) Interview-Checklist approach were used for the “clinical” evaluations of symptoms. The results indicate fair concordance between the two clinical approaches and the DIS with regard to the presence of any delusional or hallucination symptoms. Low to poor agreement was found in the assessment of many of the rather specific hallucinations and delusions. Generally, the concordance found was higher when compared to the more clinical AMDP/DiaSiKa approach than to the IMPS. More detailed comparisons with diagnostic subgroups of schizophrenic and schizoaffective patients substantiated the findings in the overall sample. Overall it was reconfirmed that the DIS approach is limited to those patients who are cooperative and at least partly remitted.

DSM-IV pain disorder in the general population

Fröhlich, Christine, Jacobi, Frank, Wittchen, Hans-Ulrich 06 February 2013 (has links) (PDF)
Background: Despite an abundance of questionnaire data, the prevalence of clinically significant and medically unexplained pain syndromes in the general population has rarely been examined with a rigid personal-interview methodology. Objective To examine the prevalence of pain syndromes and DSM-IV pain disorder in the general population and the association with other mental disorders, as well as effects on disability and health-care utilization. Methods: Analyses were based on a community sample of 4.181 participants 18–65 years old; diagnostic variables were assessed with a standardized diagnostic interview (M-CIDI). Results: The 12-month prevalence for DSM-IV pain disorder in the general population was 8.1%; more than 53% showed concurrent anxiety and mood disorders. Subjects with pain disorder revealed significantly poorer quality of life, greater disability, and higher health-care utilization rates compared to cases with pain below the diagnostic threshold. The majority had more than one type of pain, with excessive headache being the most frequent type. Conclusions: Even when stringent diagnostic criteria are used, pain disorder ranks among the most prevalent conditions in the community. The joint effects of high prevalence in all age groups, substantial disability, and increased health services utilization result in a substantial total burden, exceeding that of depression and anxiety.

Cullemo, Jenny January 2011 (has links)
This thesis explores the relationship between the Swedish autonomous left and the terrace culture of European football. It has its geographic starting point in Stockholm, Sweden and follows the three larges tStockholm football clubs, AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby, and its supporters. The author has followed the football club Hammarby from the terrace for the entire 2011 football season, and has interviewed six political activists who visit, or used to visit, the terrace. The research context this study is incorporated into centres around the history of, and relationship between, the terrace cultures of AIK, Djurgården and Hammarby. Previous research has also focused on the radical potential of Ultras terrace culture (which is derived from Italian supporter culture) and the terrace culture from an intersectional perspective. Part of the aim of the thesis is to explore anarchist theory within an academic framework, something which has rarely been done before. The other main theoretical approach is largely based on the ideas of political theorist Chantal Mouffe and her exploration of the political identity formation of the subject in opposition to the deindividuating effect the mass can have on the individual. The method of the thesis is based on anarchist theories of participatory methods and on walking interviews developed by, among others, geographer Jon Anderson. What the research shows is that the presence of fascist values is much stronger on the terraces ofStockholmthan expected, and that the terrace culture as a whole has adopted a seemingly “apolitical” stance to try and submerge these. The participants’ stories centre on the inability to “loose oneself” in the mass of the terrace, and the feelings this inability awakens. This is the first thesis about the Ultras culture written in a Nordic context.

Unknown Date (has links)
關鍵詞:口試結構化、教師甄選、人格特質、口試結果 / The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the interviewee’s interview outcome and his/her personalities presented in such measures as Big Five, Self-Monitoring, and Self-Efficacy. The interview in which the interviewees are involved is a low-structured situation. The data of the research are collected from a senior/vocational high school teacher test in one of Taiwan northern counties. The research is divided into two sub-researches—Sub-research 1 and Sub-research 2, and different questionnaires are used to collect research data in the sub-researches. The subjects of Sub-research 1 are 27 committee interviewers, who are asked to do the “Questionnaire for investigating the applicants’ interview performance in the senior school teacher test.” The subjects of Sub-research 2 are 216 applicants, who are approved to interviews. The measures used in this sub-research include “The Scale of Big Five,” “Revised Self-Monitoring Scale,” and “General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale.” Of all the applicants, 214 samples are collected. The findings show that in the low-structured interview situation there is no significant relation between the interviewee’s interview outcome and his/her scores gained from the chosen measures. For the future programs in selecting new teachers, a high-structured interview is suggested. For the future research on this topic, the effects of the social expectation, the characteristics of the subjects, and the personality measures should be paid attention to. Key word:structured interview、teacher selection、personality、interview outcome
